X1 box frequent reboots

my x1 box frequently needs rebooting sometimes it reboots itself other times I have to reboot it because the screen freezes usually about once a day what gives?

Freezing and or rebooting is a classic sign of poor incoming signal. There is a small chance it is a bad box but 9 times out of 10 its bad signal.Triple check all of your connections. If that doesn't solve the problem you will need to get a tech out.

  • On Demand Causes Verizon Box to Reboot Frequently

I had Verizon before, and switched to Comcast but hated them so switched back to Verizon recently.
    Now, I have a problem I didn't have before.
Only when watching on-demand, the set top box frequently reboots in the middle of watching the show. I have a DVR and a seperate regular box in another room (both CISCO) and both boxes exhibit the same problem. I even replaced the non-DVR box to see if that would fix it, and that didn't do anything.
This only happens when watching on-demand and it usually happens multiple times during a single 2 hour movie. And it happens on both types of boxes, which is extremely suspicious.
Is anyone else seeing this same problem? And anyone heard of a solution this problem?
We've also already had them out once after installing to check out all the wiring and signal strength and I don't think that is the cause of the problem.  Sounds like a software/firmware problem to me. Curious is anyone else is seeing the same issue.
    Thanks, Dave

This happens to me constantly.  We can't get through an on-demand program.  I have four Cisco boxes and it happens on all of them.  Two are DVRs and two are regular HD boxes.
It started happening a few months ago.  We've had FIOS in this house for 9 months and it didn't happen for the first 6 months or so.  I've tried the online trouble shooting and even did a factory reset of my router as advised my a Verizon rep.  Nothing has solved the problem.  It seems to be getting worse.
I tried an online chat with Verizon support last night.  He said it sounds like I have weak electrical power to my cable boxes.  I highly doubt that this is the case.  I tried to get him to send a tech, but he said they would charge me for this. He did offer to mail me new cable splitters.  We'll see if that does anything.
I may try the phone and see if I can reach a more helpful tech.  I think the first time I complained about this, the more helpful tech said I may need a new router since it's involved in on-demand.
I also think it's a firmware issue related to some update, particularly since it did not happen when I first got the service.
I'd like to know if others are seeing this problem, too.  Thanks.

  • Random and frequent reboots

Hi, I pre-ordered a N900 two months ago. I finally got it yesterday, and since then I've been experiencing random and frequent reboots of the device. I don't have to do anything fancy, it simply reboots from time to time without warning. It's a real pain.
This is being discuss in the maemo website [1] and there's two bugs [2] & [3] open on this issue. I'd like to know if I should return the device as many are doing or if I should wait for a prompt firmware upgrade. I don't want to wait another two months for a replacement (I think the supplies are a bit short due to high demand) but I don't want to stick to a possible erratic hardware.
Please Nokia, give me some advice. Thanks.

I have N900 for almost a month, and rebooted me once. I started installing an application, canceled, when i tried to install it again rebooted. After reboot i tried to install same application, worked fine.
I'm using firmware version 1.2009.42-11 atm, works better with multitasking then previous version. Even with previous firmware, NEVER froze and rebooted once (i think thats pretty awsome for a brand new OS). It has amazing stability, and trust me, i use it A LOT, and 80% of the time i have it online.

My MacBook Pro Core Duo from 2006 shuts down randomly requiring frequent reboots to the point I had to abandon doing any project or anything on this MacBook Pro. Same thing occurs with the iMac dual core from 2007. MacBook battery replaced. Is it internal battery for both, new logic board required, bad hard drive, or bad RAM?
    Help.

Run an Apple Hardware Test using the original installation disk that has the AHT instructions on it.
    Try SMC and PRAM resets:

It is possible that you may need a new PRAM battery.

  • Frequent reboot in BlackBerry Curve 9320

I've purchased a BB Curve 9320 a month ago and have been using it regularly for texting, calls and browsing primarily. Of late I have been experiencing frequent reboots of the phone all of a sudden several times a day.I had installed a few apps but thinking that this reboot issue may be due to the apps, I've deleted all the applications. Please help me out, this is my first BlackBerry phone and I hope that I've not made the wrong choice.

Frequent rebooting problem with Blackberry: Hello my fellow sufferers, here I am going to give you guys a solution for this problem which might work. I have been annoyed by frequent rebooting problem with my Blackberry since last 3 months. Earlier I went to service center and they kept my phone for 2 days, gave it back to me after software updation. But the problem of frequent rebooting didn't solve. I again went to local service center and this time they’d sent my phone to blackberry service center Bangalore. It came after 20 days. It seems that my earlier phone had been replaced by new phone (since my older phone was having lots of scratches all over its body and screen too). Now I was happier to have new phone. But as soon as I started using it (after restoring the backup from desktop software) the rebooting problem started again. So now I went for my own diagnosis to find out the remedial of this problem (by d way I am an engineer  ). I tried each and every combination to find out the root cause. -----------I used my phone in following individual states to know in which condition the problem occurs. 1. Keeping memory card out 2. deleting all third party application 3. keeping my phone in charging condition 4. Switching off the data service, etc. 5. Log out of all social networking apps. What I observed that rebooting problem didn’t occur during phone in charging condition, Facebook log out condition and data service off condition. I have also referred all the forums here regarding this problem. Some of them had suggested few things like keeping paper beneath battery, and data service in 2G mode, etc. I have tried several combinations and finally my rebooting problem seems to be solved. However it is not completely wiped out but frequency is certainly reduced from 50 times a day to 1 or 2 times per 3 days. So here is the combination I’ve tried. 1. Delete the Facebook application preinstalled in your phone 2. Delete all event logs. Press Alt + LGLG. Clear the log, uncheck all values in option and save it 3. Keep a paper beneath battery to hold it strongly. 4. Reinstall the Facebook from blackberry world. Please try out these things and let me know whether your problem is solved or not. But certainly it is the failure of Blackberry that even after huge complains they are to come out with the solution of frequent rebooting. I would never recommend any one to buy blackberry. Useless phone, and useless service.

  • New x1 box automatically reboots?

I very recently upgraded to the X1 platform and received all new equipment (TV only). My new X1 boxes, on occasion, reboot by themselves. Is this normal? Is this a feature of the X11 platform system?

Robert is right. It is normal for X1 boxes to reboot in the middle of the night. However if it is rebooting in the middle of the day, that usually means your X1 box is fighting with signal issues and you should probably get a tech out to check your signal levels.

  • BT Vision Box is rebooting

About a month ago I got sent a new BT Vision Box and in the last few days it has started rebooting every 10 minutes or so
Beginning to get a little annoying .....
Does anyone have any experience of the same ?
    thanks

Every 10 minutes sounds like a faulty box, a software corruption or a bad mains supply. Check that the mains cable is fully pushed home at both ends.
    Is the box well ventilated?

  • Black BT Vision+ box keeps rebooting.

Our box keeps switching itself off, then going through the start up procedure 3 or 4 times a night for quite a while now. This makes watching anything impossible and very frustrating. We had the update on 09 Sep but it is still rebooting! I have contacted BT re this and waiting for a reply. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry to hear about your problem.
Please go to Help & Settings, Settings, TV Settings and select Scan for Channels. This should take 3 or 4 minutes. It won't affect any existing or future recordings but will stop any recordings currently in progress, so make sure nothing is being recorded or about to be recorded.
This may resolve your reboot problem as it causes various internal databases to be rebuilt. Please let us know if it helps.

  • SMB slowdowns; frequent reboots

I've been having a terrible time trying to get my TIme Capsule working with my linux box, which is mounting it as a CIFS share. Any time I push a large amount of writes to the Time Capsule, the throughput drops to a crawl several minutes in. Eventually the Time Capsule stops responding via SMB at all (from my linux machine and my macos machines).
Even more alarming, I've observed what looks like crash/reboots several times when I interrupt a stalled SMB transfer. Additionally, there's been numerous times where the Time Capsule passes IP traffic, handles printing to the attached USB printer, but simply doesn't show up in Airport Utility no matter how many times I re-scan.
    I hope I didn't just buy a $515 turkey

Is it that nobody else is seeing this, or is nobody else using SMB/CIFS?

  • On Demand Show causing box to reboot

Shameless Season 2 Episode 6 via Showtime OnDemand is causing our box (Cisco CHS 435HDC) to reboot anytime we attempt to watch the show.  None of the other episodes are having problems.  Have unplugged and plugged the box back in twice now with no luck.  Is the episode source broken at the server?

This happens to me constantly.  We can't get through an on-demand program.  I have four Cisco boxes and it happens on all of them.  Two are DVRs and two are regular HD boxes.
It started happening a few months ago.  We've had FIOS in this house for 9 months and it didn't happen for the first 6 months or so.  I've tried the online trouble shooting and even did a factory reset of my router as advised my a Verizon rep.  Nothing has solved the problem.  It seems to be getting worse.

Thanks.

  • Satellite A305-6825 frequently rebooting itself

My laptop reboots itself frequently. This happened while I was running the original Windows Vista that was shipped with the macine, and continues to happen now that I have upgraded to Windows 7. Recently, the laptop also started to get hang-up (freeze-up) at times. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

    Thank you Peter.
Before getting your suggestion for a clean-up start, I disconnected the power supply after charging the battery to full capacity and have used the laptop without a glitch this way for two days (on battery power ony). Any ideas as to what could be causing the reboots before, when the power supply was connected?

  • N91 Frequently Reboots

Does anyone else have a problem with their nokia N91. I bought my phone in July 2006 and from the day i bought it the phone has often robooted itself numerous times a day. Some days it will not reboot, other days it reboots 4-5 times. The reboots can occur when the phone is in use, however it also occurs when the phone is not being used for calls or music. I have taken the phone to be repaired and was advised that the software needed to be updated on the phone. I was advised this was done, however the problem occured again that very afternoon.
My phone has firmware version v.2.10.013 which i believe is the latest firmware version available.
Is it just me, or is anyone else having this issue ??
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
