X1 Carbon Gen3 (2015) Chassis constantly clicks in and out of position
It's been 1 week since I received my first Lenovo Laptop - X1 Carbon Gen3 and I'm very pleased with it so far. Since the beginning I noticed a 'clicking' sound produced when resting my palms on the keyboard to type, but couldn't figured out what it was. Today I took a closer look and discovered that the bottom chassis (front corners) is being pushed in and out its position, creating this 'clicking sound'. It almost looks like the screws were not properly tightend so they do not allow any flex between the bottom chassis and the body of the ultrabook. I tried tightening the screws, but it seems like they are fully tightened, so there isnt anything I can do about it. I performed a research and found one more user complaining about the same issue here:http://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/30a5rz/i_have_a_touch_and_a_nontouch_qhd_x1_carbon_3rd/ I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and how its best resolved. Many thanks, Chris
I have the same problem (hope to soon being able to say "I HAVE HAD that problem"...) I was very, very disappointed and very annoyed to see that this overly expensive business laptop which I paid +3K USD for not (even) had the same build quality as a simple Macbook consumer laptop, therefore a couple of days ago I sent my X1 gen3 for repair to fix the squeeking and flexinq bottom cover, and hopefully the Lenovo repair center has swapped either the bottom cover or the screws. I must say that it is really embarrasing for Lenovo to charge a premium for a Laptop with such a lousy bottom cover fit..I mean, honestly, where is the quality control...? Anyway, as soon as I get it back after the weekend I will post an update about the results of the repair.

I originally ran into the problem with Premiere Pro CS 5 (as part of the Production Premium CS 5 package) whereby on large projects, particularly with P2 media, Premiere Pro would hang up every time you clicked in and out of the application. What I mean by this is when you click your desktop or explorer or some other application, outside of premiere pro, and then you try to go back to premiere pro and click inside the application to get back to work, you get a blue wheel and it takes 10-30 seconds before premiere pro will re-engage and allow you to work.
I have installed the new 5.0.2 update and tested it on my original problematic project, having set up a new media cache file. The project prpro project file size is approx 30 mb and the reference media is approximately 300 GB on internal hard drive. The full data on the original problem, specs and tests can be found on this form at
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/639220?tstart=0,
Unfortunately, in my initial work and test with this as of today, this problem is not solved and the same hang up is occurring. When testing I have all other applications turned off, no internet connection and no firewall/anti-virus programs running (system mechanic).
I will be working extensively over the next few days with a new editing project and will reduce the project size and will report back if there are in fact any improvements or changes to this, but at this writing, this problem is not solved for me unfortunately. Possibly for others there is an improvement. You know what it didn't work for me - but - and I only discovered the solution last night by happenstance - I wasn't trying all that hard to solve it as it wasn't as bad for me as apparently it is for you and others - but - anyway - for me the solution was my anti virus - I had it turned off when I installed the update - so once it was completed it appeared the problem had been solved by the update - but - then I turned the anti virus program back on - Avast free version BTW - and the problem was back - it was then I happened upon your thread and obviously I put two and two together - so - continuing - I have just now uninstalled Avast free version and installed AVG free version and - viola` - all is good - for now. Sorry to hear you are still suffering.
That has been my only nagging issue thus far with CS5 - all else - so far so good.
Best wishes, -
Hi all
I have a read-only calculated field, and I want to build actions on it, dependent on what the answer to the calculated field is.
I have used action builder, and it works, but only if the form filler clicks in and out ("exits") the field, which they didn't have to enter in the first place, because it populates as a result of a previous script.
To be more precise, The questions asked before this field are:
Date of submission (submitdate):
Date of event (eventdate):
Calculation occurs (days between event and submission), and answer is populated in a field called 'daysbetween'
Now I have a set of conditions:
If the daysbetween is < or = 14, then I want a message to come up saying ineligible to apply
If the daysbetween is >14 and < or = 28, then I want a message to come up saying a fast track fee will be applied, and I want the fast track fee box to be populated, and I want the fast track fee box to appear.
I used the action builder to get all of this to work, except that it only works if the user then clicks in and out of the 'daysbetween' field, which they shouldn't have to, because it's already calculated for them
I feel like I have to put this script in an earlier field...but I don't know where - action builder won't let me do it in the 'eventdate' field
Thanks in advancePut a shift register on the border of your loop. Have a case statement that contains the "Get time" function in one case of the case statement. Make that case = 3 and wire the loop iteration to the case selector. Have the time value loaded onto the shift register in the "2" case (interations count from zero), have the shift register passed through on all others ("Default"). Then subtract this time from current to get elapsed time. You probably want to put the subtraction/comparison in a "sub-case" in the "default" that only is valid for interations > 3 or you will get some really ugly "times" until the shift register is loaded, or you could initialize it from outside the loop with the time, but this will cause it to show elapsed times from the beginning that suddenly jump back to a low number after iteration 2.

Since downloading Yosemite 10.10.2, emails are not automatically downloading. I have to either click on Get Mail or click in and out om mailbox.
It's very frustrating as it does not happen on my iPad or Iphone.Howdy welcon,
It sounds like your Mail application is not checking for mail automatically anymore after updating to 10.10.2. It seems to me that the setting for this may have reset, or changed at some point thereafter so I would check the preferences for the Mail application:
General preferences - Mail Help
Check for new messages
When Mail gets new messages from the mail server. By default, the option is set to Automatically (Mail varies how often it gets messages, based on whether your Mac is plugged into an electrical outlet).
An IMAP account may get messages more frequently if the mail server supports the IDLE command; make sure the option to use it is selected in the account’s Advanced pane in Mail preferences.
If you set the option to Manually, click the Get Mail button in the Mail toolbar to check for messages. (Whenever you click an IMAP or Exchange mailbox, it syncs with the server, and shows new messages.)
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,

Lifechat lx-3000 sides click in and out distorting audio
Upon purchasing this headset, I noticed the sound was awfully different from the last pair of these headphones I previously had. The sound was much lower in the right ear than the left ear. As I lifted the headset up the audio clicked back and was fixed.
But now, if I put down the headset or lift it up to scratch an itchy ear, the audio lowers again, and the ear muff makes a click sound. It seems if I click the outside of the right ear muff in it makes the click sound again and goes back to normal audio.
It is really irritating as I have had multiple of these headsets which have broken over the years and I have never had this problem. I can't take it back to the store I purchased it at as the faith I had in it not being faulty as they never have been so
I threw out the receipt.
What do I do, what can I do to fix it. Please help, it's really irritating...Hi,
Meanwhile, I suggest you try the headset in another PC, then test the sound effects again, we should first find out whether this is a PC issue or a headset issue, if this is a headset issue, then you can go back to the store to replace it with a new
one if it is still under guarantee.
If this is a pc issue, then please make sure to keep the latest driver for your audio device, you can manually view the manufacture website to find the driver.
We can also check the following link and see if anything\software\driver we need for the headset.

PXIE-1065 Chassis makes clicking sound and will not power up.
Came in from the weekend to my few week old PXIe-1065 chassis making a clicking sound near the ac power cord and it will not power on. I removed all the cards from the chassis and it stops clicking, but as soon as I replace the controller (PXIe-8133) it starts clicking again. Is this an ac power supply failure in the chassis. I also noticed there was no filter elements over the fans in the rear of the chassis like my smaller (PXIe-1082) chassis. Could this have led to the failure?
-JeremyHi uyt,
There are a few troubleshooting steps to take here that might show where the problem lies. Have you tried any other embedded controllers in the control slot of this chassis? Do they show the same behavior? Have you tried that controller in your other chassis? Depending on which one the issue follows, I would be inclined to guess that part is damaged in some way and needs to be RMAed.
In response to your suspicion: I would be extremely surprised if you were delivered a part without a physical component and many of our newer chassis do not have the fan filter you are referring to, so that is likely not the issue.
Feel free to call in to our support line at 866-275-6964 to troubleshoot the system with one of our engineers before RMAing the device.

Hard drive constantly clicking
The 2TB hard drive of my 2011 iMac is almost constantly clicking like toc-toc....toc-toc....toc-toc, with a frequency of about 30 times per minute, while "at rest" (no activity from keyboard or anything). Funny thing is, it does it too when I'm running Windows (through Bootcamp). Is this normal?

I am using a download manager (of sorts), Getbot, and it picks up the 'copy link location' to download anything. The problem I have, as I already put in my question results in the wrong item being clicked upon and my e-mail client (Thunderbird) gets started. I ahve used other browsers as well (Google Chrome, Opera, Safari) with the same or similar results. I try to steer clear of any version of IE if I can!!
You've probably heard of the saying 'I wish I had ten dollars every time that happened'? Well I am in the same boat, I would never have to work another day for the rest of my life if that was possible.
Is there a text file to edit, or perhaps a Registry entry to adjust (I'm quite comfortable doing either).
Your help would be much appreciated.
With much Thanks

After updating the os, I tried to shut down, clear and reload my Ipod touch. Here's where I goofed: at the prompt for starting the reload process, I selected "start as new Ipod" on the Ipod, but in Itunes, I selected " back up existing Ipod from computer" or something like that. Now the ipod is constantly shutting down and restarting and no controls can be accessed. All I can do is the "forced shut down" which I have done multiple times and let sit for a half hour off.
Disregard, hooked up to itunes and clicked on summary, selected restore, all is well.

Sound constantly goes up and down.

Hi,
Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.

Clicking sound and rainbow wheel
My MacBook has recently been slowing down. I have started to hear a clicking sound and I see a rainbow wheel as the computer is "thinking". I have been reading some discussions and have done a few things....such as ...I have downloaded smart reporter........when I check it, it indicates the below info:
**2008-12-26 23:05:01.694 SMARTReporter[85] Drive: 'ST980811AS (Macintosh HD | 5RL00HHF | disk0)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK)**
one individual advised another person having the same difficulties to check their console....when I check mine it indicates the below info:

does anyone know what this means?I copied this from my console last night......please forgive me if it's way too much info.......however, one of the things I keep seeing throughout it constantly is this sentence.....it seems to be consistent and it seems to refer to the Safari connection.....oh another thing.....the clicking noise starts up as soon as I open my laptop......it goes away after awhile.......the rainbow wheel is only when I'm on the internet....ok......here is the repetitive note I seem to see on my console log:
*Corrupt JPEG data: 796 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9\n*

Why won't videos play on my new iPad 2 14gb? They either constantly buffer, stop and I have to press play again, play sound only etc.
Thanks .Ralph. The problem is only on the iPad 2only. I have an iPad 1 as well and it never had the problem. The only videos that I have tried are you tube and the tutorials on apple.com. I have absolutely no problem on either of my laptops or desktop PC's. Only the iPad 2. I am a new Apple user, so not very familiar yet with the product, but this is an absolute deal breaker for me. With Apple's reputation I was not expecting any such problems and it is beyond my skill set to solve it. Very frustrating. Again, no problem with you tube videos. I don't watch movies, so am not a Netflix member and haven't tried that yet, only you tube videos and apple.com tutorial videos. I have to watch those on my laptop. Again, I found a fix to the you tube problem. It was a link to a site. www.youtube/html5. html5 video player trial that you click on and once done, the videos on the you tube app started working great. They were doing the same thing as the tutorial videos prior to that. No such luck with the other web videos, at least the ones that i have tried. Hope this is enough info and understandable. You might check out the html5 site. I didn't thoroughly understand why, but it worked. You may understand it better. I am a proficient user, but far from an I.t. Pro. I have read Many posts with similar problems, but no simple solutions and the ones I did try didn't work. Speed tested well. Channel is set to auto and always different than neighboring networks, usually channel 11. Tried disabling QOS as suggested....no good. I am completely stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much for you time and helpful info.
David
