X11 crashing when I enable multi pointer

I'm trying to enable multi-pointer X. Once I execute the xinput reattach command X crashes and then reloads (without the second cursor) I'm using GNOME, but I don't have GDM enabled.
P.S. When I type xinput create-master, another cursor does appear on the screen. X only crashes when I try to attach a slave to it.

  • SMTP Service crashes when i enable reserve lookup?

I have got NMS 4.15 running on linux. When i enable reverse lookup my SMTP services starts crashing. Can anybody tell me what is the solution to this?

I'm not an NMS guru by any means.
First, 4.15 is older, get 4.17, at least the SMTP daemon.
Second, get off of NMS ASAP. :) Seriously, NMS has problems and the sooner you migrate to iMS the happier you will be. I realize that iMS does not run on Linux right now. I suspect that iMS 6 will be supported on Linux.
Why do you want to turn on reverse lookup? Sure you'll get some nice name in your headers instead of only IP address but your performance will also suffer.

  • Apple X11 Crashing when installing IBM DB2

Hi discussions, I know this is a bit specific, but I could not find anything on the net related to this old time bug.
Apple X11 always crash when I run the DB2 installer from a linux box with the DISPLAY exported to my local computer

  • Im loosing audio when I enable Multi-Camera

First, a rundown of my system and software:
Vista Ultimate x64 Service Pack 2
    Q6600 Quad Core
    8 Gig
    (2) Western Digital 74GB 10,000 RPM SATA Raptor's
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Im just now delving into multi-camming in Premiere, and, I can get it to work perfectly, to a point.
I will describe, briefly, and quick, because I am good up to the point that I experience my problem.
I create my first sequence, import three video clips, kill the audio on clips 2, and 3, set my clip markers, synchronize based on numbered markers, then create another sequence, with only 1 video, and 1 audio track,  to nest the first sequence in.
Drag the first sequence into the second, and scrub it. I have audio, as I should at this point.
But as soon as I right-click on that single video track, and enable Multi-Camera, I no longer have any audio.
All video windows, and aspects are there, and working perfectly.
If I go up to Edit, and then Undo, to dis-enable the Multi-Camera, then I get my audio back again.
Any tutorial, or instructional video I watch on this process, they still have audio, after enabling Multi-Camera, as you should.
Why do you think I am loosing my audio, just at that step?

Believe it or not, I ended up solving this mystery myself.
And the explanation is quite long, and tediously detailed, but, I’ll try to explain while keeping it as brief, and concise as possible.
The problem actually lies in the setting up, track wise, of your initial sequence.
Ill first explain the correct way, and then I’ll explain why my way did not work.
Be very careful to design your initial sequence, given all the details of the video clips that you’re going to use.
If you’re going to use 3 video clips, and all 3 video clips have stereo audio tracks, design your initial sequence with just that, 3 video tracks, and 3 “stereo” audio tracks.
But what you have to remember is, and this may be where the misconception comes into play, but, within Premiere, in the “New Sequence” box, under the, “Tracks” tab, is where you setup how many video tracks, and audio tracks you want this sequence to have. So, if you have 3 video clips with mono sound, naturally you would want to change the setting to “3”, for the number of video tracks, and “3” for the number of mono audio tracks, under the audio section.
    Wrong.
First thing under the Audio section, is the setting for the, “Master” audio track, or, audio track #1.
So, if you would have followed the above scenario, you now would have 4 audio tracks, instead of just 3 mono as you entered.
    Why?
Being that the “Master” audio track, or audio track #1, is by default set to “Stereo”, via its drop down selection menu, Premiere will not put any of your, “mono” track info on audio track #1, because audio track #1 is set to stereo, so it will start filling, “after” track #1, and on downwards, creating a new, or 4th audio track, as in, your 3 mono tracks will go on track 2, track 3, and the newly created, track 4.
The correct way to have done the above scenario, would have been to create 3 video tracks, 1 “master” audio track of mono, and 2 mono audio tracks. That would give you 3 total mono audio tracks.
Always remember to use the “Master” audio track, as your first audio track.
So what happened in my scenario?
Well, first, I forgot to remember that the “master” audio track, or audio track #1, had to be manually assigned by using its drop down selection menu, to pick either mono, stereo, etc.  And by me not setting it, its default state was stereo.
Well, I had 3 video clips, only one clip had audio, and it was mono.
So, immediately, that means that my mono audio “WILL NOT” be on audio track #1.
    Well, so what?
Well, I also discovered through tedious trial and error, of creating 3 seperate mono videos of me speaking 1 on video 1, 2 on video 2, and 3 on video 3, that once you enable Multi-Camera, in your second sequence, Premiere tracks, …you guessed it, audio track #1.
And at this point, I have nothing on audio track #1, because it was set, by default, to stereo.
Thus why I had no audio, as soon as I enabled Multi-camera.
The true moral, just pay close attention to setting up your initial sequence, and you “should” have no problems.
Thanks once again to all who attempted to help, you folks are great.

  • Android Firefox crashes when sync enabled

    Hello,
I am experiencing crashes every time when Firefox sync starts, either manually from menu or automatically. Sync does not sync at all it just crashes. Same behaviour with both stable and beta from android play store.
Tried reinstalling, and removing android Firefox account. Nothing helps. After few crashes, the sync account stops working, with error "could not sign in" After that Firefox works flawlessly. Then at some time account works again OK but then it crashes again.
Since yesterday tried everything I could think will be helpful, including disable all extensions on my other devices, but nothing seems to help.
Device is a tablet running Android 4.4.4
    Thanks for your help!

thanks for following up on the issue. i had a brief conversation with a sync developer about this issue - there is a prospective fix for this type of crash in firefox 38 (that's codenamed Aurora). however mozilla's developers cannot reproduce the crash reliably and would depend on help of users like you to reliably tackle this issue...
so in case you'd be willing to help out and try firefox aurora, please proceed like this:
    # go into the android system settings > security menu and enable the option to install .apk files from unknown sources
    # go to https://www.mozilla.org/mobile/aurora/ click on the download button and afterwards install the .apk file on your device.
    # then launch firefox aurora from your app drawer and see if you can reproduce the crashes while connected to your sync account.
finally please report back with your results after those steps.
the firefox developer working on this might also be interested to contact you directly about this issue - if you consent to that, please click on my profile and send me a personal message with your mail address. iw ould then forward sthis information...
    thank you!

  • Crash when adding new multi-word event to month view

Recently updated(?) to Leopard from 10.4.11. Now, adding a new event to iCal when in month view often causes a crash. Sequence is:
    0) click in desired date box to start new event
    1) type first word of event, type space, start typing second word
    2) input freezes after a few chars and acts as if I had exited the input box
    3) reclick on the input to edit/complete it
    4) * crash *

    Regards,

This is also driving me nuts... Actually, I have not even figured out how to even enter a new appointment in month view. It used to be double-click, enter name, hit <tab> and fill out he rest in the panel, but this routine does not work any more.

  • X11 crashes when switching TTYs in VirtualBox

    Hey all,
I just installed Arch (64bit) and have it working under VirtualBox 3.2.10 in Windows 7 (64 bit).  I can startx and it works until I switch to a different TTY.  X then crashes with the following error:
    FATAL: Module vboxvideo not found.
    (EE) [drm] drmOpen failed.
(EE) VBoxVideo(0): DRIScreenInit failed, disabling DRI.
(EE) VirtualBox USB Tablet: failed to initialize for relative axes.
I haven't modified xorg.conf at all.  The generated file is below:
    # VirtualBox generated configuration file

    Thanks,

Have you installed Guest additions? Seems to me that vboxvideo module ships inside of it.
You should check this: Running Arch Linux as a guest -- ArchWiki

  • Firefox crashes when java enabled

Tried all of the fixes on Mozilla website (drivers, add ons, no maleware, uninstall/reinstall). When I disable both Java add ons the problems seems to go away. I have new system (1 month old) Windows 7 64 bit with Java 32 bit installed for Firefox. I have also tried Waterfox 64 with Java 64 bit and same problems.

I assume you're using the latest Java 7? For some reason the Java website still says you're on the recommended update even if that is 6.29 (or thereabouts).

  • 880GMA-e45 crashes when RAID enabled

I used to have a RAID10 array on my 880GMA-e45 mobo and it was working fine for around 6 months.  Recently, one of the drives developed a SMART error, and since I was also running a bit low on HDD space, I decided to migrate the RAID10 to RAID0 and removed the failing drive.  After the migration, my PC began BSODing less than 10 minutes after booting up.
I created a new RAID0 array using the BIOS RAID utility and tried reinstalling Windows but it can't seem to find the RAID array.  I have the RAID drivers on a USB but it won't accept the drivers either.
I then installed another drive (not part of the RAID0 array) planning to install Windows on that drive first, then I was planning to install Windows on the RAID array after it booted up on the single drive, but now, it BSODs before it boots up.
I have to set the drives as IDE at the BIOS just so it wouldn't BSOD and allow me to install Windows on the single drive.  After Windows was installed on the single drive, I set the BIOS to RAID again, and created the RAID0 array.  Again, it refuses to boot, giving me a BSOD before loading Windows every time.  Even set as AHCI, it would BSOD before loading Windows.
The only way it would boot up is if the drives were set to IDE.
What could be the problem with my system?  It was working fine before until one drive started failing.  I really need the system to have a RAID10 array but whatever RAID array I create, I get a BSOD.
    Here is my system configuration:
    MSI 880GMA-e45
    AMD Athlon ii x3 450
    4GB Gskill DDR3-10666
    Nvidia GTX560 1Gb
    Antec True-Power 650 watts PSU
    3 x Seagate 80Gb SATA2 (This is the RAID0 array. It used to be 4 x 80Gb)
    1 x WD 1Tb Green Caviar SATA2
    1 x Seagate 160Gb SATA2 (The single drive where Win7 is installed)
    1 x Samsung SATA DVD-RW drive

No, I have all the drives installed.  Do I have to disconnect the other drives and leave only the RAID array connected?  I'll try that.
I hope it won't BSOD anymore...
Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Firefox crashes when Flash Player is enabled..

I am facing this prob for the last few days...It says firefox encountered a prob and needs to close down....After a lot of findings I came to know that it was due to Adobe Flash Player ...when this plug-in is enabled and i visit video sites firefox crashes, but if I disable this plug-in firefox doesnt crash.....Please Help... I dont want to switch to other Browsers..:(

AVG is not the problem - it is the Adobe plugin that triggers the crash.
    Evidence :
Flash works perfectly in Internet Explorer.
Firefox works when Flash not present or disabled.
Firefox crashes when Flash enabled and any site requiring the plug-in to be used is accessed.
Firefox fails to give any warning message or explanation.
Disabling any other plu-ins makes no difference.
AVG has been uninstalled and an alternative anti-virus put into use.
Problem started earlier in June when version 10.1r53 (10.1.53.64) of Adobe flash plug-in appeared. The problem did NOT exist until early June.
Uninstalling flash and reinstalling does not cure the problem.
    Affects Firefox 3.6.3 and 3.6.4
Operating System in use : Windows XP with service pack 3.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 crashes when accessing Add-on Manager and Google Toolbar (v 7.1.20100723W) is enabled

Well, as I said, Firefox 3.6.8 crashes when accessing Add-on Manager and Google Toolbar (v 7.1.20100723W) is enabled. This is on a 2010 white unibody macbook. I have a google toolbar, and all of a sudden, it keeps saying that it can't communicate with the toolbar. Now, I can't even uninstall it because whenever I go to the add on manager, it says there's an 'unresponsive script'. Could anyone help me? Thanks.

I fixed it by running in Safe Mode, and uninstalling Personas. Thanks again!

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when PDFMaker add-in is enabled

Outlook 2013 crashes when the Acrobat v.11.0.3 PDFMaker add-in is enabled. Outlook 2013 will automatically disable the add-in.
The Outlook 2013 version is 15.0.4517.1509, 32 bit. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is the OS.
Below is the screenshot of the Outlook Account Info page.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I was having to start Outlook 2013 two times every time I turned on my computer (running Windows 8.1 64-bit). The first time, Adobe Acrobad crashed Outlook, disabled PDF Maker, and closed. The second time Outlook started, told me it disabled PDF Maker, and gave me the option to re-enable. I then click to re-enable PDF Maker.
However, I tried LoriAUC's suggestion #1, to launch Outlook 2013 as Administrator. When I did that, Outlook just started up without disabling PDF Maker and without crashing. And PDF Maker remained availble to use within Outlook. That's the way it should always work.
So, I remember that Outlook ran fine with PDF Maker until this month of February 2014. I wonder what changed, Outlook or Acrobat Standard Edition so that Outlook crashes (unless running Outlook as Administrator).
In the meantime, I wonder how to make Outlook start as Administrator automatically without my having to do any extra steps. Or is there a better fix.

  • LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.

Hello, LV 8.2.1 notes indicates the following bug fix:
43SAIR2A  Fixed an issue where LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.
I am running this version, and still have this behavior.  Is there anything I may be missing, and/or certain circumstances that may still be causing this?
    thanks in advance,
    Darren

    Darren:
I looked at the CAR ID that you mentioned and the issue has been resolved in LabVIEW 8.2.1. To verify something similar, I ran the attached VI and things worked just fine. Please feel free to send me the steps to follow to reproduce the issue you are running into in 8.2.1.
