X11 pointer color changes to yellow
if i log in to a linux machine via ssh the original shell has the correct colors and appearance. from the remote host if i then launch an X application (xterm, emacs, etc) the pointer color changes to yellow. the cursor color remains black but the arrow/i-beam pointer color changes. this is repeatable across linux machines.
this does not happen using my powerbook running 10.4.5 and X11 v 1.1. however it always happens on my MacBookPro running 10.4.5 and X11 v 1.1. while it sounds trivial it is very bothersome as a yellow cursor tends to disappear on everything but a very dark background.
i have noticed does not happen when the remote host is OS X or solaris but does happen if it is linux (red hat, fedora, or yellow dog). while it may well be a difference in the linux implementation it did not appear until i ran X11 on an intel-based OS X machine.
has anyone else seen this? fix or work-around?

Which display? The mini's? I'll try and see.
Well, without restarting everything when I changed it it had no effect, thousands or 256 was still the same.
I have a G3 running 10.3 here that doesn't have the problem though, going to the same linux box, if that means anything.
This is the xdpyinfo from my box, basic FC3 install. I'll run a diff against yours to see if there's anything there.

Layout Outlines color changed to yellow. Why?
The page I'm working on now has the CSS Layout Outlines in
yellow. I don't know how it changed. It used to be a much easier to
see gray. I can't figure out how to change it back to gray. Please
help!It's been a while since this was posted but I am posting this reply just incase anyone like me is searching for the answer as I did.
I found this happened when I had my body background colour set to BLACK and then use a css image for the background. This resulted in the CSS Layout Outline turning to yellow as it assumed that a black outline would not work on a black background and did not take into account the css background I had in place.
So if you using a css background image then set your body background to WHITE and it'll fix this problem. -
I type =25% on my email and sent out, background color changed from white to yellow and =25% changed to %%.
Try leaving a space after the =
Thus: = 25%
Where and when did it change? Did it change inside Thunderbird? Did it change in the Sent folder? Or in a reply to you?
= and % are used in certain types of email encoding; =20% often appears, meaning character 0x20 which is 32 denary or the space character. It is often used where an explicit space would be illegal, and this is common in URLs and other links. I'm thinking that =25% similarly has a special meaning. It ''shouldn't'' get decoded, but software is buggy.
I can't reproduce it here, which is why I'm asking about how and when it changes. Where does the Microsoft software come into it? -
Change pointer color 10.9
There is only one way in Mavericks to change the pointer color to white.
Go to Acessibility / Display/ invert color
This will change the pointer from black to white, but it will also change entirel scheme , some people may find this not what they wanted,
but apple still hasn't added a pointer adjustment.It's not a bad attitude. It's a very good attitude.

How to change individual point colors of xy graph
Hi all,
I would like to plot 100 xy points to a xy chart so that each of them have a different color. There is a "plot color" property and "point color" property in the property node, but for some reason those doesn't seem to have any effect on the point colors. I bet there is an easy solution for this, but I don't seem to find it...
MarkoIt really makes little sense to plot each point twice just to make it (barely) visible in a "line only" plot, just select a plot style that contains points.
Here's an example how you could do it.

Enter event field color change issue
I'm trying to make a script that will change the color of a field's content area when the user enters it (either through clicking or tabbing to the field). It seems simple enough to do, but I haven't been able to get it working.
I downloaded the sample .pdf file that describes how to do this at: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/livecycle/designer/pdfs/FieldFillColor.pdf
Push the button, the colors change. Seems to work fine, right? Except for the horrible, horrible period in the color definition, of course. Publishing a 2 line script with a bug as an EXAMPLE? For shame.
But, when you move the code to the Enter event, the caption changes color, but the content area does not... until you LEAVE the text box, at which point it DOES change color. This doesn't make any sense to me. Is there something undocumented going on here that I don't know about, or is this just another bug?This won't speed it up, but I suggest making your code a lot cleaner by making use of this class (I haven't tested it):
public class ColorRange {
private Color min, max;
public ColorRange(Color min, Color max) {
this.min = min; this.max = max;
public boolean contains(Color c) {
return c.getGreen() >= min.getGreen() && c.getGreen() <= max.getGreen() &&
c.getRed() >= min.getRed() && c.getRed() <= max.getRed() &&
c.getBlue() >= min.getBlue() && c.getBlue() <= max.getBlue();
//...SNIP...
ColorRange blue, red, green, yellow; //initialize these
//...SNIP...
if ( blue.contains(robot.getPixelColor(640,480) ) {Furthermore, I would introduce constants for your sample locations:
Point blueLoc = new Point(640, 480); //etcEdited by: endasil on 14-Sep-2009 10:21 AM -

is there anyway to speed up the change detection ? anyone know a faster algorithm than my 'do-while' function?

Problem with printing ever since I've changed the yellow cartridge ink
Hello,
I have the new printer - HP Ink Advantage 3525 that was working great.
I got a message on my PC which says that I need to change the yellow cartridge one, so I did it very easily, but even since I get tons of problems with my printer.
The communication between the pc and the printer doesn't work all the time. So I reset all the properties and did it again from scratch and not it's ok.
The main problem is that no matter what I'm priniting, the color are really not accurate when all the picture is almost all yellow! I did all the clear options and it still does it.
Any help please?If Outlook has "stopped working" it may be due to the Outlook iTunes Sync Add-in that was installed when you installed iTunes 7.3.
If you disable that add-in, Outlook will stop crashing - however, you will not be able to sync your calendar and contacts. Apple has been made aware of this issue. -
Color Changes in Spry Data Fields
Hi All,
I'm new to Javascript & PHP programming. Currently I have coded neccesary apperances for the Web Page and also Spry Data Set to read an external XML date source file.
What I need to do is one of the fields, needs to have color based status changes based on certain data or criterias received.
For example,
I have a Spry Table displayed on my browser,
Name
Current Status
Lane
Jane
6 Mins
1
Peter
Boarding
2
Sally
Arriving
3
Alex
Delayed
4
With the above, what I need is when the current status show in minutes, the text color will be white (This has been coded with CSS Style)
For the Current Status color changes, when I received anything apart from minutes, the display will be as of below :-
Minutes = Black
Boarding = Red

My question is can this be coded with just Javascript, HTML and normal CSS
OR
This needs to be coded in PHP, ASP ?
I'm not familiar with ASP and only have very little knowledge of PHP. If anyone here have some experience with this, can offer some advice on how I can apply this theory into my existing. And if possible some code example would be great.
Thanks.I have tried many times on Ben's method and it didn't work.
I have also tried the method from Adobe's documentation site.
Method 1
<ul spry:region="dsStates" spry:if="{ds_RowCount} != 0" spry:repeat="dsStates" spry:test="'{name}'.match(/^[amn]/i);" spry:choose="choose">
<li spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^n/i);" style="color: red;">{name}</li>
<li spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^m/i);" style="color: blue;">{name}</li>
<li spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^a/i);" style="color: green;">{name}</li>
</ul>
Method 2
<div spry:region="dsStates" spry:if="{ds_RowCount} != 0">
<table border="1" spry:repeatchildren="dsStates" spry:test="'{name}'.match(/^[amn]/i);" spry:choose="choose">
<tr spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^n/i);" style="background-color: red;"><td>{name}</td></tr>
<tr spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^m/i);" style="background-color: blue;"><td>{name}</td></tr>
<tr spry:when="'{name}'.match(/^a/i);" style="background-color: green;"><td>{name}</td></tr>
</table>
</div>
Can anyone make it plain and simple of how the data source should look like ?
I'm posting my source code here to make things easy.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

</head>
<body>
<div spry:region="KomtarETA">
<table>

<th>Current</th>
<th>Destination</th>
<th>Next</th>
<th>Lane</th>
</tr>
<tr spry:repeat="KomtarETA">

<td>{next}</td>

</table>
</div>
</body>
</html>
The above is the HTML file I start working with.
The {Current} field needs to have it's data periodically changing color & addition of flashing effect based on it's input from the XML data.
So my question is how do I work about ? I don't quite get the explanation above.
Thanks. -
Why does Type color change when published?
I am designing a site that has horizontal main menu and underneath that is a 3 tab panel shown below.
Each tab brings up a new panel. The tab in the center is in the "Active state" and the others are in the "Normal state". The Rollover state & the Mouse down states have a soft yellow background. The color "key" for the user for an active button is both the background of royal blue and the type color of bright yellow. The screen shot above was taken in the "Design" screen of Muse.
When I switch to the "Preview" screen, the screen shot below shows the color change:
I have repeatedly gone back to change both the Font Type and the font color in the "active" state, but there must be something I'm missing that throws me for a loop.
I've been messing with this for a week or so and just can't get it to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KenZak,

Calculated value and color change
I am a newbie desiging a form in Livecycle.
Have a table with some calculated fields - using formcalc.
I want to change the color of these fields based on the calculated value but I don't know how to have multiple events occurring in the one cell.
I can get it working if I put the color change script into the exit event of the cell but as it's a read only cell, the user will not be exiting the cell. I have had no luck putting the color change script elsewhere. Any help would be appreciated.Actually, in full screen mode the top is cut off! I never noticed that since I always use full screen. This only happens in ACR. All other screens are fully represented. I may cut back on the height adjustment and see if I can see the top. Thanks for pointing it out, Ramon.
Back to the problem at hand, if you notice, all sliders are at -0-, and if you could look at all the adjustment panels, everything is neutral. So, what is it adjusting?
If I open a RAW file I also get the triangle, but when it disappears only the slightest change is noticeable in the histogram, and nothing in the image itself. This is true even with the .nefs tweaked.
Finally, the image 1 is correct with respect to the same file in PS. I compared the screen shot to the full image side by side, in PS. Image 2 is not. If I do a tweak in ACR then open in PS, it's not what I want to see.
This particular frame is tagged with the ACR icon in Bridge, but I have other tiffs that are not, and the same thing occurs.
FAPP, I cannot not color correct in ACR with a tiff. I do it as an .nef -
Cursor color change according to background
The default cursor is Black, and black tool-tips (such as slashes, carats, circles, eyedrop, etc...). However, I have trouble tracking down a certain line segment or end-point when I can't see the black slash on the thick black border. All I can do is change the item to white, make my selection, make the connection, then change it back to black. Very time consuming and interrupts the creative flow.
Is there a plug-in or setting so that the cursor color changes from black to white according to the darkness/lightness of the background? Or am I simply SOL?Nope, that stuff is hard-coded. If you have difficulty in detecting thin elements, I suggest you use the colored paper simulation in the doc settings/ prefs and assign som contrasty color temporarily If you e.g. work with black and white, obviously something like a dirty lime green or greenish grey will work perfectly rfor both colors...

Using Lr4.1 on PC w/ win7pro laptop with external NEC multisync mmonitor-calibrated, I've taken Raws made LR adjustments, then imported 3-10 images into photoshop layers for masking, merges, few if any color changes. Then save as all layers as a psd, then flatten the psd and save as a tiff. When I open in LR for any other minor tweaks, sharpening, dust spots, and do an export into SRGB or Adobe rgb, the colors are terrible. Look nothing like what I see in LR. I've heard people have minimal issues, but I am having major changes, many times the collors will become dull and flat or very saturated when viewed. As an architectural photographer I need these colors close to what I took. If I edit in CR into PS I don't have this problem. I assume its related to the prophoto RGB color changing, but I really don't know what's going on with the color space. The color will appear different from my laptop monitor to the NEC by a lot which I understand a pro monitor will show more colors, but the color space shift is making a lot of work done in LR useless if I have to redo it all in CR. How can I get LR to export the colors I see in LR into a srgb jpg and Adobe tiff?
ThanksLots of steps here:
"Using Lr4.1 on PC w/ win7pro laptop with external NEC multisync mmonitor-calibrated, I've taken Raws made LR adjustments, then imported 3-10 images into photoshop layers for masking, merges, few if any color changes."
How do you get them into PS? What do you mean by "imported 3-10 images into photoshop"? Do you mean you use "Edit in.." from LR, and choose "Open as layers in Photoshop..."?
"Then save as all layers as a psd, then flatten the psd and save as a tiff."
How does it look in PS?
"When I open in LR for any other minor tweaks, sharpening, dust spots"
How do you open in LR? The normal process, after "Edit in..." is that you save in PS, and the image is automatically stacked in LR against the original (or one of the originals, if you open several by "Open as layers in Photoshop..."). How does it look now?
"and do an export into SRGB or Adobe rgb, the colors are terrible. Look nothing like what I see in LR."
Only now they look terrible? They looked OK in LR originally, OK in PS, OK when back in LR, but when you export they look bad - is that right? And as Victoria says, how are you viewing the exported images?
"I assume its related to the prophoto RGB color changing, but I really don't know what's going on with the color space."
It certainly shouldn't be due to colour space changing. The whole point of colour management is that it deals with this.
Final points: you say your monitor is calibrated. You do mean calibrated and profiled with a hardware instrument (Spyder, Colormunki etc)?
And, color settings in Photoshop, they should look something like this:
Choice of working space should be ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB or sRGB, but not a monitor or printer profile. Policies should all be "Preserve" and I recommend all the "Ask When" boxed be checked (so you are warned of mismatches). -
Sorry if thias has been posted somewhere else before.
I'm making a new logo to use in my web-galleries, generated in the WEB-module in LR.
In Photoshop I ensure the background color is #141414 - but when I open the logo in LR 2 (or # for that matter) the background-color reads #191919. The same thing happens when I import the logo through the library-module - the background-colour changes. The logo is made as a RGB PSD-file in the ProPhoto color-space.
How do I avoid this change?
And - if this applies to all my PSD-files imported back to LR there's no point in colormanagement at all!?!
Any help og hints would be so great, as this is driving me nuts.
-s.
Logo-file attachedUnfortunately Jao, yours wasn't.
I'm sorry because of that. Perhaps you should first read up on color spaces. This is a good article. The thing to know is that the numbers you read of the display in Lightroom are not 8-bit numbers in prophotoRGB, but are percentages in a related space which has prophotoRGB primaries and a sRGB tone curve. The working space in Lightroom is linear prophotoRGB. So if you have a color of 14,14,14 in Photoshop (I am assuming those are normal arab numbers in an 8-bit display) in prophotoRGB, the corresponding number in Lightroom would be 6.4% for all three. If your numbers where hexadecimal, the display in Lightroom would show 10%.
Rereading your post, my guess is that you are talking about something else where the actual displayed color changes, so that it is visible to your own eyes. On a correctly setup system this should never happen. As troutmask notes, differences between PS and Lightroom are basically always due to a few things. I. Bad monitor profile. Fix this by recalibrating. II. Incorrect setup in Photoshop. It should be setup to always respect embedded color spaces and the working space should NOT be the monitor profile. III. Failure to include an icc profile on save from Photoshop. III is very common. Make sure that when you save, to include the prophotoRGB profile. Otherwise, Lightroom will assume it is an sRGB file.
Lastly, and I am starting to think that this is your issue, if you are creating a logo for the web, make sure you do it in the sRGB profile (simply do a convert to profile in Photoshop and save it under a different name). On windows almost every web browser (except Safari and the latest Firefox) are not color managed, so they will give weird color if you feed it images in anything else than sRGB. The web module in the windows version of Lightroom uses the IE engine, so you don't get color management in that module. You also don't get color management in flash galleries on any platform. -
Changing graph type, color change
Why when I change the type of graph it changes the colors automatically. I had blue, green, red (in the 3d fills) for a bar graph respectively representing 2009,2010,2011. I am adding this year I wanted to switch to a line graph - why are the colors changing auto to add a yellow and making 2012 red? How can I stop this? I find it quite difficult to change the colors of all the lines/symbols using the 3D fills, actually it doesn't work very well @ all, so I would prefer not to have to do this for 10 graphs per client @ 5 clients. Is there a more efficient way to accomplish this?
Also brings me to my next question. I was attempting to use the copy style, paste style function with the graphs - to ease the pain of all of this. When I do that it only pastes the axis scale (exactly what I don't want copied)! Is there a way to c&p the STYLE...the colors, weight, and data symbols of the lines. Therefore if I must do all the color change manually I would only have to do it once?
Thanks so much.Here's an example, using a Line Graph.
The first graph uses the full table, which has a column for each year, and extends to 2017, using 'placeholder data.'
For the second, all of the data, and the header labels (year) was deleted from the table.
Not good for presentation (nor was the table with all those empty cells), so columns E (2012) to J were selected and Hidden.
When data became available for 2012 (ie. about 10 or 11 months from now), the hidden columns were Unhidden, the label and data were entered into column E (2012), and columns F - J were again Hidden.
I haven't tried this with bar graphs yet. A closer look at the structure of your data and a screen shot of a sample bar graph would be useful in avoiding a 40 day trek through the wilderness.
Regards,
Barry
