X11 Update 2006 - 1.1.3 - Security warning when trying to update

Hi there,
I'm on 10.4.8 on an Intel Mac Mini, and software update informs me that there is a update waiting. I have tried over the last 2 - 3 days to install via Software update, and I just continuously get a warning about the update being corrupt. I've tried downloading a copy directly through Firefox - I get a .dmg that informs me that the checksum is bad? I also note that the site tells us the update is 51 MB in size, but Apple-I shows 49.7MB
Is there a probably on the download servers / with my hardware + software combo, or something different again?
I have installed all other updates without issues - I installed the Mac Mini firmware update already with out issues.
Anyone?

Same problem with Safari - which is possibly the engine used by Software Update?
Interestingly enough, the download through Safari states 49.7 MB - Rather than the 51 MB stated.
I also tried downloading the latest XCode DMG last night ... that also has come up with an invalid checksum.
Could this be networking issues between me and Apples servers?
Please note that I've successfully downloaded and utilized DMG files before - I have just downloaded an 11MB DMG file from sourceforge.net and that worked fine.

In the meantime, please follow this two step procedure which will revert you back to version 12.
Download and run our uninstaller:

Download and run the version 12 installer from*:

I keep receiving security errors when trying to open a pdf.

I keep receiving a security error when trying to run my javascript program, the function previously worked, but now creates an error after I entered the addWaterMark function. I have put my whole code below for my script.
The basic function is to load a text file into an array which has the path and file location, open the document, add a watermark, save the file, close the file, then repeat for the next array position.
I am using Acrobat Standard so I am unable to debug using the console, therefore I am struggling to understand what I am doing wrong. I will point out that I am not a fluent programmer, only have a basic knowledge of programming.

I have found the error, you are quite correct I had an extra letter in the filename, I thought I'd checked this but just shows that sattention to detail is the key.

Security warning when searching

33.1.1, XP, SP3
Since upgrading to 33.1.1 every time I do a Google search from my BT Home Page I get the following security warning:
"Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.
"Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?"
I am aware that Google search in Firefox's default page is encrypted and I also know that if I use Google search in the address bar of my BT Home Page there is no warning (presumably because I'm still effectively using Firefox).
As stated this has only started happening since the upgrade to 31.1.1 - is this a new addition?
It is much more convenient to use the large search box on my BT page as the cursor is placed there by default.
Obviously I don't want to people to track my searches although I have been using non-encrypted http for years. However, is there any way I can set my BT search panel to https or to tell Firefox that https should be used on that page? Probably not.
As a last resort, is there any way I can turn off this annoying warning?

Unless you actually use the Shockwave (director) player for some certain games or interactive learning things, you may not likely need it compared to the Flash Player anyways. So you might as well uninstall it versus having to keep it updated.

Downloaded JPG Files Have Security Warning When Downloaded with FF 14.0.1

Since updating to FF14.0.1, JPG files that are downloaded from the internet display "Open File - Security Warning" "Unknown Publisher" when double clicked to open. I can disable the warning for individual files, but would rather have it global for all since JPG file are a low security risk. They do open without the warning when downloaded within IE8. I couldn't find any FF security settings that may affect this issue.

I'm not aware of any changes in Firefox 14 relating to this feature, but there are dozens of changes in each release, so I certainly can't rule it out.
Is the E drive a partition on your hard drive, RAM disk, removable storage? Just wondering whether it might be treated differently than the C drive for some reason. But IE and Firefox should be consistent, since this is all about Windows' internal security controls...

Security Warning when running DNG converter

Hi,
I just did a clean install of Vista Ultimate on my laptop and then installed the DNG converter (version 4.4.1).
I copied the executable into Program Files/Adobe/Adobe DNG Converter but every time I run it I get a dialogue box:
Open File - Security Warning
which asks me to confirm I want to run the file. Even if I uncheck the "Always ask before opening this file" checkbox the behaviour happens.
Anyone else seen this and know how to fix it?

This is the standard Micro$oft warning for any none Micro$oft product installed from a web download. It is part of their marketing strategy to discourage the use of non-Micro$oft products. It also occurs with Windoze XP.

You cannot avoid it, that's part of the PDF security system to make the user aware that he is entering non-trusted area, as it is with every web page when it is opened the first time in Reader or Acrobat on this computer. ThatÄs an unchageable fact. You have to live with it.

There's nothing you can do as the creator of the file. If you could, that whole source of security would be worthless.
They would need to tweak their security settings in Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced).

"File download - security warning" when running a report

Hi all,
Few of our users are having an error on their PCs when trying to run a report in Internet Explorer 8 with Adobe Reader 10.1.3 installed on their PCs. The error is:
"File Download - Security Warning"
Do you want to save this file, or find a program online to open it?

Type: Unknown File Type
Find Save Cancel
Other users are able to run the reports. They have IE8 and Adobe Reader 10.1.2 installed. Any ideas why this problem might occur?

Firefox gives me a security warning when I open web sites and I don't want it to.

I access a providers web site daily and when I go in I get a box message that their is a security warning that I have to get rid of before going any further. This happens to sites I go to everyday and I don't know how to stop this.

Warning when trying to install flash catalyst

I get this warning when I try to install Falsh Catalyst:
Support for CPU extension SSE
This product does not support PowerPC architecture CPU.
Is my computer too much of a dinosaur or something? It's a G5. Help

This is such a bummer. You guys aren't alone in your disappointment. I was extremely excited too. Thank you two for posting. I finally found a relevant post after 5 hrs and change. I couldn't figure out how to resolve this same problem, and I was too stubborn to give in. All I needed was a simple answer, as Arthur stated.
That said, what are our options? I've been running around in circles trying to figure what my next steps should be? ... Any input is welcome. I really don't want to purchase another computer to be able to use the new adobe software. I guess I didn't realize my computer was turning into such a dinosaur...
