X120e: Suspend problems after BIOS upgrade.

I have a ThinkPad X120e (0596RZ6), which had BIOS version 1.08, that I have upgraded to 1.16 (8FET32WW).
I used a CD-ROM to upgrade the BIOS (8fuj09uc.iso) and all went smoothly.
Now, whenever I try to suspend to RAM while running on battery, it visibly suspends, cannot resume, and drains the battery as quickly as it would while running normally.
It worked just fine with 1.08, and nothing has changed in the OS that could break it.

The problem persists after downleveling the BIOS to 1.11. Older versions do not seem to be available for download.
Please, for the love of God, if you release a BIOS upgrade without properly testing it, then state so clearly so that people do not waste their resources such on frustrating "upgrades."

  • Lil problem after bios upgrade/flashing

I have a K9N neo nvidia nforce 550 mainboard and found a new bios upgrade from the msi website using the express download. Ever since ive upgraded, right after startup i get a message in windows saying it found a new PCI device and that i need to install a driver for it, i have 3 pci devices installed rbefore upgrading bios (GPU, Soundcard and wlan card) and theyre all working right now, i have no idea what pci device my pc has found because there is absolutely nothing installed other than those 3.  ???
Any feedback would be much appreciated, thank you

OK so i installed one of the drivers from the express download function, it was realtec audio device driver (or something), i installed that. but sstill wierd since i dont have that in any pci slot, anyways, im not getting the popup asking me to install unknown device anymore.
(AMD away driver wouldnt install for some reason, had an error, so i think im gonna leave it at that for now, i dont want any more problems lol...)
re install chipset drivers, after that if still yellow devices left use program above to ID.

  • KT3 Ultra2 (6380) Problems after BIOS upgrade

Recently upgrade bios to 5.7 to work with the 2800+ I just got. The flashing process seemed to work without any problems. Upon rebooting of the machine I got the error CMOS\GPNV Bad Checksum. If I choose f2 (load defaults and continue booting) the machine will boot. If I reboot I get nothing....not even video. I have to clear the CMOS to get it to post but I receive the same error message. Im thinking its a memory issue. I have a pc2700 512 module in there currently which has worked fine. I have fiddled with the memory settings w/ no success. What should these settings be in my bios? Also have a geforce 4 video card if that is of any help?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
    -Matt

    oh anohter thing...
i got a two short beeps - pause and then another short beep for a mobo error code.
i find it very strange how if i clear the cmos settings...boot it...hit f2 to load defaults and continue it boots. however after that a cold boot or even a reboot the machine wont even post. I feel the answer lies in there somewheres.....

  • Overclocking problems after BIOS upgrade

    I’ve currently a MSI 865PE Neo2 mainboard with an Intel Pentium 4 2,4 GHz/FSB 800, 400MHz DDR-SDRAM.. Current version of BIOS is 1.3 and I succeeded to overclock P4 up to 3,0 GHz.
To achieve such a benchmarking I did the following steps (at least this seams to be the fail safe procedure to achieve success in overclocking P.4 to 3,0 GHz):
Load Setup Default settings first, changed Frequency/Voltage control as follows:
    Dynamic Overclocking:       Disabled
    Performance Mode:          Slow
    CPU Ration Selection:       Locked
    DRAM Frequency:          Auto
    Spread Spectrum:          Disabled
Adjust CPU Bus Clock (MHz):    250
    DDR Clock(MHz)         500
    Adjust AGP/PCI Clock(MHz)   66,66/33,33
    CPU Vcore Adjust         No
       CPU Vcore         1,750
    DDR Power voltage         2,50V
    AGP Power voltage         1,50V
    After reboot I get:
    Dynamic Overclocking:       Disabled
    Performance Mode:          Slow
    CPU Ration Selection:       Locked
    DRAM Frequency:          Auto
    Spread Spectrum:          Disabled
Adjust CPU Bus Clock (MHz):    250
    DDR Clock(MHz)         400
    Adjust AGP/PCI Clock(MHz)   66,66/33,33
    CPU Vcore Adjust         No
       CPU Vcore         1,750V
    DDR Power voltage         2,50V
    AGP Power voltage         1,50V
That is, the mainboard keeps the FSB at 250 MHz but changes DDR Clock to 400 MHz. Thus everything works fine (forcing DRAM Frequency setting from Auto to 400, simple doesn’t work. Don’t know why?).
After upgrading the BIOS from version 1,3 to 1,5 the mainboard never adjusts the DDR Clock to 400 MHz and always reset to default 2,4 GHz base CPU clock frequency.
To my despair, after many different settings I could ever be able to overclock P4 to 3,0 GHz !!
Could you anyone please help me?
    Kind regards,

There is really no efect in increasing the RAM voltage, I’ve tried up to 2,75 Volts.
With BIOS after 1.3 I always get "DRAM timing is too tightly so reload timing..."
Nevertheless I flashed BIOS version 1.7. After many tries what I've discovered is that if I set DRAM Frequency to 333, system shows after reboot DDR Clock (MHz) = 400 !!!
So everything works fine, Pentium 4 running at 3,0 GHz with CPU Bus Clock(MHz) = 250. Maybe this is a bug !?!?
To be on the safe side I've changed DDR Power Voltage to 2,70V as you recommended.
    Kind regards
    Pedro

  • NB100 hotkeys problem after BIOS upgrade

    Hello,
after i've updated the bios to version 1.60 some hotkeys, like brightness setting (fn+f9/f10) or the mute (fn+f6) are not working anymore when the operating system starts, they work instead before o.s. loads. I'm using Windows Vista atm. I've tried to reinstall it too but nothing changed.
I really hope to receive some help so thanks in advance ;)
    Best Regards

I dont think its the BIOS. Ive run vista ultimate on mine since ive had it, the hotkeys have never, in my case, worked with Vista. Even if i load the Toshiba hotkey utility it refuses to start and wont run in compatibility mode either. I think its a sacrifice we have to put up with, unless Toshiba update the utility to support vista. Personally I doubt they will do this as the machine is shipped only to support Win XP.

  • Help Please - X200 will not boot after Bios Upgrade - keeps asking for power on password

    Hi there,
I am new to this forum and please let me say a big Thank You for your help in advance.
I am using a lenovo thinkpad x200 running windows vista with service pack 1.
The laptop has always been running fine and has never given me any issues. Unfortunately, all this came to an end yesterday when I ran the system assistant which did a round of updates and it prompted me to reflash my bios.
I did what was instructed and closed all open applications and after the laptop restarted, there was a noise from the harddisk (the sound was basically like what happens if the harddisk suddenly loses power). Then, all i got was a black screen, no harddisk acitvity with only the power cable LED and another LED (with the shape of a N tiled at 20 degrees) on.
I searched the forum and did what was suggested in this entry: http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Blank-screen-after-Bios-Upgrade-on-X200/ta-p/29...
This is what I did so far"
I turned off the power, took out the backup battery and waited for about 30 minutes (repeated this step several times, also removing the harddisk) but to no avail.
I removed the RAM and tried booting and there was that characteristic beeping sound.
I replaced the RAM, redid the CMOS clearing, and now there is the Lenovo startup screen. However, there would be an error code 0271 (no date time) and 0251 (something about default configuration). Then, these disappear and all I am left with is the Bios Power On password prompt. Somehow no matter what I type nothing can be input into the field (and I did not create any password as far as I can remember).
I redid the clearing for the power on password by removing the backup battery as suggested at the bottom of this page http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=migr-59377   but it is no use. Each time I restart, even if I press the blue Think Vantage button or F1 or F11, I still get the same 0271 and 0251 error messages and am left with the power on password prompt.
I am really desperate as I really like my lenovo x200 and there is important data on the laptop. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can solve this. Its amazing how a simple update can turn into such a disaster. Now i know i should never upgrade or update my Bios (or at least proceed with extreme caution).
Anyone can provide some help to get my laptop workin again?
    Thank you very much,
    Mark

    DataSource problems after BW upgrade
    Upgrade from

    ECC/source system: PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 SP 11
Problem exists throughout, both with generic and standard DataSources.
    Here is one specific example:
    Generic DataSource ZXXXXXXXX
InfoPackage "ZXXXXXXXX(ZXXXXXXXX)" does not run. Error:
    DataSource ZXXXXXXXX(SOURCESYS) must be activated
    Message no. RSDS179
    Then followed these steps:
    1. Replicate Metadata from source system
    2. Report RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL from SE38 for source system SOURCESYS and DataSource ZXXXXXXXX
    Errors returned:
Inconsistent user object ZXXXXXXXX SOURCESYS for PSA /BIC/B000XXXX
    Error saving DataSource ZXXXXXXXX SOURCESYS
DataSource ZXXXXXXXX (SOURCESYS) could not be activated
When I try to choose "Manage" from the context menu for the DataSource, I see an error:
Invalid DataStore object name /BIC/B000XXXX: Reason: No valid entry in table RSTS

    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Just to help the folks out here.
    In my case,
Inspite of going through several valid NOTES & program, my issue didnt resolve (you reply was pretty accurate - but dint help me :-)).
I have resolved the issue by adjusting the PSA table for the same.
    Procedure:
Take the psa name  --> go to table rstsods --> find the ODSNAME_TECH name for the relevant psa  --> se38 t.code --> enter ODSNAME_TECH and click on 'adjust & activate database table' (make sure you have selected 'save data' radio button.
Just in case anyone who come across this problem, can do the above steps.
    Regards,
    Dubbu.

I installed iOS 5.0.1 on my Iphone 3GS. I never can not write in my calendar. Anyone else having this problem after their upgrade?

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
It might be something in your backup.

  • I have a mac, would like to upgrade to mountain lion from mac os x, anybody experienced any problems after this upgrade, thanks

i have a mac, would like to upgrade to mountain lion from mac os x, anybody experienced any problems after this upgrade, thanks

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) model number 2,1 or higher
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Xserve (Early 2009) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again.  You can make a bootable DVD/USB stick to install using this free program.
Bootable Drive DVD or USB Flash Drive – Lion Diskmaker
Our 2 computers haven't experienced any significant problems, even though others have. I find it much better than 10.7 Lion, which I used for a week before reverting to 10.6.8
Mavericks is supposed to be released this fall, so you may want to wait.

Yeah problem after upgrade again   After i enter my username and password to login to Gnome, i get the message
Your session only tested less than 10 seconds. If you
have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there
is some installation problem or that you may be out of

I sure am not out of disk space so what could the problem be? I am using windows for now till i can find a solution.

  • Idle power management features on processor disabled due to a firmware problem - after BIOS update

    Hi,
I did a BIOS upgrade on my E20 - 4220-CTO to 5JKT55A and I started seeing these messages in my System Event log ->
"Idle power management features on processor 0 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware."
"Idle power management features on processor 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware."
"Idle power management features on processor 2 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware."
"Idle power management features on processor 3 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware."
The messages occur on each reboot.
I upgraded to the latest bios 5JKT56A and I get the same messages.
I was not getting these error messages on BIOS level 5JKT47A(ship from lenovo with this level).
I updated my BIOS as it was suggested on the lenovo site before doing the win7 SP1 update. Note - I got the error before and after the SP1 update so it's not related to SP1.
I have not see any additional issues, just the messages in the event log on each boot.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in Advance!

5JKT58A is the current E20 BIOS.   have you tried it yet?

  • Problems after BIOS update on DKA790GX Platinum

    Hi,
I have set up a pc with the DKA790GX Platinum (MS7550). The config:
    - Phenom 8750
    - Silverstone 400W PSU (fanless)
    - 2x2GB Crucial PC5300
    - Pioneer Blu-ray
    - Seagate Momentus 5400.4
    (this is a HTPC setup...)
The pc started up fine and I installed the OS. I had the board connected to my monitor through HDMI.
After updating the BIOS the board went all black on me. I tried connecting a floppy-drive to recover to a older BIOS-version, but could get the board to do that. I then tried different monitor-connections, but nothing.
I then installed a Gigabyte Radeon HD 4870 1GB-board I had laying here, and board seems to boot somehow - all graphics are messed so I can't read whats on the screen, but at least I get some kind of image. A little unsure on how the PSU handle that videoboard.
Anyone know if the 1.2 BIOS-update maybe is set to <swearing removed> the integrated video by looking for a videoboard in the system? Have a Asus 9800GT Matrix-board in a another pc here - maybe I remove that and try it in the new pc, but... argh..
This ain't funny at all anymore. I had a P45 Platinum dying during a BIOS upgrade. I had a P45 Diamond that dosn't want to boot anymore, and now this... MSI-motherboards really don't want to be friends with me at the time  :-|

Hi have exactly teh same problem,
On Dec/2008 I have set up a PC with DKA790GX Platinum (MS7550 ver 1.2), Phenom 9750, 1 120GB hd, 4 MB corsair xms2 ddr2 800mhz, psu 500w. I installed the win xp pro OS. I had the board connected to my monitor vga. After updating the BIOS (with live update utility) the board went all black on me (the fan, PSU, hd starts normal). I test the PSU, HD and the memory, but the problem still continue.
Two days after, the PC start normal, but I don't know what was the problem.
Aleatory when try to start the PC, sometimes I get exactly the same problem, but, Yesterday, I try again to work with me PC and now i have the same problem.
What can i do to fix this problem?

  • K7n2-L wont boot after bios upgrade

I have been very happy with the motherboard since i bought it in april 2003, been very stable and only had minor usb problems.  And i finally decided to upgrade the bios from v. 3.7 to v. 4.1.
After the upgrade the machine boots up to the first windows that shows me the memory and the hard disk i have installed.  I can also go into BIOS.
But the PC stops when its about to start booting up the HD or CDrom. According to the lights on the D-Bracket its trying to initializing the floppy controller.
There has never been a floppy drive in this PC before(i booted the PC on CDROM when i upgraded the BIOS).
    I have tried  the following things without success;
    installed a floppy drive.
    Cleared the CMOS(with the jumper)
Unplugged the cdrom and the hard disk.
    Tried every memory configuration.
    jumped the safe mode jumper.
It seems to me that i can only fix this by changing the BIOS chip....or the mainboard.
    Anyone had this problem?

    Azraeliz,
Sounds to me like perhaps you've overlooked a setting in the BIOS
Did you take note of the BIOS settings prior to flashing so you could put the settings back the way they were?
    nuckelavee,
I suggest you start your own thread. I have a hard time believing there is no CMOS jumper.
Tried this? ***Starting your K7N2 Delta2 at default settings***

  • Not booting after BIOS upgrade in T500

I upgraded my T500 from BIOS 3.09 to 3.18 using the windows upgrade utility (6fuj42us.exe?). The upgrade went fine. I rebooted the machine and got the login windows screen (I have windows XP professional). However, the instructions of the BIOS upgrade called to enter into the BIOS and press the F9 key in order to set all the system defaults. After that the machine did not boot. It gives me the initial windows booting screen (windows flags) and then a blue screeen. I downgraded the BIOS to 3.15 using the bootable CD utility (6fuj39uc.iso?). The downgrade went fine. I can get into the BIOS but have exactly the same problem when loading windows. Unfortunately I could not find a similar bootable program for BIOS 3.09 only the windows executable program (6fuj34us.exe?). Is there any fix other than reinstalling windows? Thanks.

    Hi malope,
please enter the Bios and check the HDD is switched to compatible mode instead of AHCI Mode.
Maybe than you can start Windows.
