X2-00 Remedial Advice

Dear Nokia,
I would just like yo inquire on my present problem regarding my Nokia X2-00 which I bought last month at SM San Lazaro (a stall). From the beginning the phones battery was quick to be discharged of its power which is 4 hours of talk time while the normal talk time of Nokia X2-00 as advertised is 13.5 Hours then I went back to the store to have the phone change as was stated in the store warranty 1yr with 7 days replacement policy because when I bought it I've noticed that the sticker outside the Box says the 12 month warranty by Nokia in Cambodia and the unit has Cambodian letters on its numpad ... thinking that they would change the unit I went back but they've only replaced the battery ... but still the same problem occurs.. again and again .. and also I've notice a darkening of the top part of the phones screen...
I would like to ask advice on what should be the proper remedy for me on this situation
thank you

Hi,
Some battery information:
Battery must be charged from empty to full a few times before it works at full capacity
Battery repeatedly recharged before it is fully empty  the battery "learns" to operate at reduced capacity
Cure: charge battery from empty to full 2-3 times
If the issue still continues, it is best to visit the Nokia Care Point in your area.
To find your nearest Nokia Care Point, visit http://www.nokia.com/support and select the Repair page.

  • Where is the "Application Support Folder"?

OK, apparently, I did something stupid.
I had both Master Collection CS4 and CS5 on my MacBook Pro. I decided to uninstall CS4. I did some research and did it the way I think I was supposed to. First, I deactivated it. Then I used the CS4 Uninstaller. So far so good.
But, when I boot us CS5, I get the following message:
"One or more files in the Adobe Applicatoin Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
Here's where the stupid part comes in. I am on the road and, naturally, do not have the disks to reinstall my Master Collection.
However, here's the less stupid part. I do have a complete clone of the drive BEFORE I did the uninstall.
So, where can I find the Application Support Folder and can I just drag it over?
    Thanks.
    sjh
PS. I'll be on the road for a month and really need this to work.

Anyone wishing to uninstall a previous version of Photoshop should do so BEFORE installing a newer version.  Always.
That being said, I advice against uninstalling previous versions.

Sorry I don't have specific remedial advice that meets your not-altogether-reasonable requirements (I cannot do a new clean install because I do not have my new disc's [sic])  in your situation.

  • Error message syncing iPhone after 10.5.2 upgrade

Error message while syncing iPhone after Leopard Upgrade to 10.5.2 : "The application AppleMobileSync quit unexpectedly" -- Anybody had the same trouble after this system upgrade? Any remedy advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Chris66
Usually when this error message comes up, there is either corrupt data on the iphone or the computer.
First of all, disconnect the iphone and completely quit itunes.
Now, reset sync history as per the steps previously posted.
Next, open itunes and itunes preferences (itunes at the top of the screen > preferences).
Then go to the syncing or iphone tab and check the box to disable automatic syncing with all iphones and ipods.
Now click ok to close the preferences pane.
Connect your ipod and go to the info tab.
Set itunes to replace contacts and calendar information with what is on the computer.
Click apply in the bottom right corner.
If it is something in the iphone that is causing this error, this should overwrite it.
To narrow down what is causing this error on the computer, watch itunes when syncing the iphone to see what is trying to sync when this error comes up.
After the error message comes up, go into the iphone settings in itunes and uncheck the last thing itunes was trying to sync(usually contacts or calendars), then click apply in the bottom right corner.
This will start the sync process again.
If it is contacts that is causing this error, try creating a group in address book, move a few contacts into the group.
Then sync only that group to the iphone.
Keep this process up until you've narrowed down which contact or contacts is causing the issue.
If it is calendars causing the issue, you would go through the same process with a new calendar.
    Hope this helps.

  • MacBook Desktop font size

I just purchased a new MacBook and as with all my previous Macs it is a wonderful piece of work.
However, I have an issue and hope I can find some encouraging and remedial advice here. I have gotten older as years have passed and find the size of text and even the tool bar display could be a little larger. I have an old iBook and the text on the desktop is almost twice as large.
Is there a method for increasing text size on the desktop overall without utilizing zoom function.
    Thank you,
    Wallyhead

There is not one general setting to change this.
What you can do in finder: From the menu "View -> Show View Options". Increase Text size and apply to all windows.
Applications most have in preferences options to change the font size.
Have a look at the following document: http://staff.ucreative.ac.uk/Document%20Store/Computing/IT%20Helpdesk/GUIDE-Acce ssibility-Mac.doc
However, these options are not for the desktop itself.
As a last resort you could decrease the resolution from your macbook from the standard 1200x800 to a lower one.

  • I have acrobat pro on my lap top and recently installed acrobat pro on my Mac Mini, but the text recognition function is not working, does anyone have any advice on how to remedy this problem?

I have acrobat pro on my lap top and recently installed acrobat pro on my Mac Mini, but the text recognition function is not working, does anyone have any advice on how to remedy this problem?

On my laptop when I open up a pdf file and do a search for a particular
text phrase it prompts me to run a character analysis.  Whereas on my mac
mini, when I try to engage the same process it just says it couldn't find
the phrase and doesn't even try and run a character analysis. I tried
clicking on the tool bar and the recognize text tab but nothing there seems
    to do anything.
In trying to figure out the issue on my own I noticed one thing.  I run a
small law firm in St. Louis and I scan in all my files to which are
subsequently emailed to my outlook account where I will save them as pdf's
to their respective folders.  On my laptop when I open up an email from my
scanner I see the image of a acrobat document next to the attachment
paperclip symbol.  However, when I open up the same email on my mac mini I
notice instead of an acrobat file image it shows a Preview file image (the
program used to open up pdf's before I installed acrobat).
    Hope this helps!
    Sincerely,
    Jonathan McAllister

  • Need advice on Career in SAP after completing 9 yrs in IT mainly in Telecommunication Domain with BMC Remedy Tool knowledge

Need advice on Career in SAP after completing 9 yrs in IT mainly in Telecommunication Domain with BMC Remedy Tool knowledge.
Which Module of SAP I can learn and get into as I have Tool based knowledge in BMC Remedy and fair knowledge in SQL, as I come from non-IT background. What are career prospect after completing  any SAP module now will my previous experience will be taken into account?

    Prashant,
One of the reasons nobody has replied to you yet is that, this is a question with so little information provided.
    - There is no mention of your education background.
    - Your work background is very vague. What exactly did you do in Telecommunication Domain?
    - What exactly did you do in BMC Remedy? Where you just an end-user or did you do any background support work?
    - What exactly did you do in SQL? Did you work on it or did you just attend training?
    - Why do you want to jump into SAP? And what precisely you want to jump into in SAP?
    - What are your interests? Technical or Non-technical?
    - What's your career objective? Where do you want to be 5 years from now?
Without providing these information how can anyone help you? Picking a module and going with it makes no sense. What if you spend an insane amount of time and money learning a module in SAP (based on some random suggestions given here) and realize that this is not what you were looking for, or there is little scope for that module in the market? What then?
It's your career that you are planning. It definitely deserves more thought-process and planning to go into.

  • I share an itunes account with my daughter, didn't realize that updating to ios6 and the cloud would link our phones.  This is a fiasco, anyone have any advice how to remedy?

I ran ios6 updates on my ipad and iphone, not knowing that using the icloud and sharing an itunes account with my daughter, would have our phones and my ipad now linked together.  My contacts are gone (875 of them) and I have her contacts, and our text messages are now shared like a party line!  Can anyone help me with this?  What to do now, I don't want to sync or do anything to any device!!

iCloud is designed to be used by one user with all their devices "linked" together.  Your daughter needs to have her own icloud account.  Using one Apple ID for an iTunes account is a different situation, you can certainly share the account with your daughter.  That way she can access purchased items without paying again.
If she already has another icloud account, and wants to set it up on her device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud.  Then enter the account ID that she wants to use.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
As for your lost contacts, they are gone.  You only hope is if the contacts were also on your computer and (if gone now) you have made frequent backups of the computer (like using Time Machine on a mac).  Just restore the contact files back to your computer.

  • ISE and WLC for posture remediation

Please can anybody clarify a few things in relation to ISE and wireless posture.
    1) Is the ACL-POSTURE-REDIRECT used for remediation, or is it just an ACL to redirect only some traffic to kickoff posture checking?
    2) Can/Should a dACL/wACL be specified as a remediation ACL?
    3) Do the WLC ACLs have to be written in long format (manually specifying source and dest ports/doesny direction any work?)
    4) Does anybody have working example ACLs for posture redirect (cpp) and remediation (dACL)?
    5) Any other advice or pointers would be helpful too as no docs i have found so far, be it TrustSec2, CiscoLive or anything else, dont seem to help me understand WLC posture and remediation
    thanks
    Nick

    Nick,
    Answers are inline:
    1) Is the ACL-POSTURE-REDIRECT used for remediation, or is it just an  ACL to redirect only some traffic to kickoff posture checking? This is for both (if ports 8905..are included) then this is for initial redirection, and remediation
    2) Can/Should a dACL/wACL be specified as a remediation ACL? Wireless does not support DACL, you will have to reference another ACL in the the authorization policy, the new versions have the Airespace ACL field, where you will have the ACL defined locally on the wlc.
    3) Do the WLC ACLs have to be written in long format (manually specifying source and dest ports/doesny direction any work?) Yes you have to add two entries, for example for all traffic redirection to ise...source = any, destination=iseipadd, source port=any, destination port=any direction=any action=permit
source=iseipaddr, destination ip = any, source port=any, destination port=any, direction=any action permit. Its not the easiest but I will attach a screenshot that will show you my example.
    4) Does anybody have working example ACLs for posture redirect (cpp) and remediation (dACL)? ISE doesnt support DACLs so when you build your authorization profile in ISE you select the web authentication type (Posture Discovery) after that the ACL field will come up, there you will "call" the posture ACL which is defined on your controller.
    5)  Any other advice or pointers would be helpful too as no docs i have  found so far, be it TrustSec2, CiscoLive or anything else, dont seem to  help me understand WLC posture and remediation Keep in mind that you have to have radius NAC and AAA override enabled under the advanced settings for COA to work.
You have to turn on COA under the global settings in ISE (Administration > Profiling > Coa Type > Reauth)
Then you have to build your policies so that when a user connects to the network they are redirected to the download the nac agent (this is where the Posture Discovery and redirect ACL work in tandem).
Once the client download the nac agent and is compliant the report is forwarded to ISE where a COA event is triggered.
Then the client will reauthenticate and will hit another policy that will give them access once their machine is compliant, you can set the ACLs for restricted access, use dynamic vlan assignment, or just send the access-accept.
    Thanks,
    Tarik Admani

  • N00B here, looking for MAT/PAT answers and BIOS advice...

I just built my machine from uugotz last night using the FIS2R board, a 2.6C, the Zalman 7000, and some Knight Rider lookin sticks from Corsair (2 x 512MB XMS Pro 3200LL Twinx).
    Pic for the curious:  http://www.rememberphil.com/zig/northbridge.jpg
I immediately upgraded to 1.9, and set my RAM timings to SPD.  I can get 2/3/2/6 just like Corsair's specs say, but only after upping the Vdimm to 2.7, which from what I've read on the forums here is SOP, so that's cool...
    Here's what I can't figure out:
    1.  I can't up the performance mode beyond Fast without getting hit with the "timings too tight" message, even if I intentionally lower the .  What gives?
    2.  Is MAT just the MSI implementation of PAT for copyright's sake, or is it something different?
    3. I know what PAT is, but what exactly does the different "Performance Levels" do anyway?
    4. What BIOS do you guys recommend?  1.8? 1.9? 1.9beta?
    Thanks,
    -ZIG

    HELP!
I just ordered my first custom system that includeds a MSI 865PE Neo2 FIS2R mother board, P4 3.2 Ghz processor and Corsair TwinX 1024 3200LL memory.
I agonized over the memory selection and only settled on the above after reading numerous glowing reviews such as below from http://techreport.com/ja.zz?comments=5264
"I should share something with you about Corsair RAM that we learned this past week and confirmed in spades—Geoff, Andy, and I all three—over the weekend in our various testing endeavors. I mentioned in my 875P and 865 chipset reviews that I'd had some trouble getting Corsair's XMS3200LL memory working with its default timings on these new Intel chipsets, so I wrote Corsair to see what was up. Here's the answer I got from Robert Pearce, Corsair's Applications Specialist:
The problem is the chipset won't handle a tRCD (RAS to CAS Delay) of 2. We've done a revision of the SPD to make the LL's work on the 875 and 865 chipsets, the settings are now 2-3-2-6 by default.
We will, of course, warranty any modules with the older SPD but it should be noted that the end user can simply manually adjust the BIOS to the settings noted above.
Sure enough, using the latest BIOS revisions for the various 865 and 875 boards we have running around here, we were all able to get XMS3200LL (or in my case, plain ol' XMS3200 v1.1) DIMMs working with very aggressive timings, up to and including 2-3-2-6 at 400MHz, so long as the RAS to CAS delay was set to 3. Conversely, even with very relaxed timings for the other settings, the systems weren't happy with the RAS to CAS delay at 2.
This is a minor snag for Corsair, I suppose, but the manual workaround works beautifully, and the RAM is still easily superior to the other DDR400 samples I've encountered. "
    And from - http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.html?i=1828&p=2
After countless hours of testing there is no doubt that Corsair LL (Low Latency) PC3200 modules are the fastest and most compatible DDR memory modules to pair with your 865PE or 875P motherboard (regular CAS2.0 Corsair modules are just as good as LL/TwinX modules). Initially we had the most problems with Corsair's modules, but thankfully motherboard manufacturers were able to come through with solid BIOS releases that remedied all of these issues.
So the question is ... has this problem been fixed or are these review full of baloney? I have never overclocked, but the features that come with the MSI board would allow me to do so as a Noob. Have I wasted $300.00? Should I call the reseller and tell them to STOP and put a different type of memory in my system?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on and does the computer use a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card?
Please read the Announcement at the top of this forum on the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Ge Force issue which forces the user to roll back the driver version to around May 2013 in order to work with Premiere Elements 10. For your convenience, the following is a copy/paste of that Announcement.
Announcement:Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are
experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of
troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained
workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video
card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as
far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013
in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this
regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver
    roll back can be found
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
Do you run the program with the AutoSave feature On? If so, please check the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder which should be (by default)
in Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10.0 Then right click the latest AutoSave for this crashed project and select Open With Adobe Premiere Elements 10.0.
Where do you save the project.prel for this project?
Can you go to that hard drive save location (probably LIbraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10.0), right click the project.prel file, and select
Open With Adobe Premiere Elements 10.0.
If necessary, I will post instructions for deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 10.0 Folder in which it exists.
We will be watching for your details and results.
    Thank you.

  • Cisco NAC Remediation Config Assistance

I'm deploying NAC for a large enterprise. They would like the use the NAC for posture assessments but manual remediation. If the users do not meet the windows patch and AV requirements they are expected to manually remediate their systems, not using the CCA agent.
Is this possible? I cannot find a specific example of this. Their reasons for this design is they have multiple partners using this service but they cannot remediate systems which they do no manage, we can only enforce the policies.
    Thanks for the assistance.

    There will be three requirements:
    - a custom requirement checking for registry entries and files to determine if the system is a corporate asset or not.
    - a windows patch check
    - AV checks
The customer does not require remediation from the NAC at all. They only wish to use the product for posture assessment only. I do not want to offer the option of remediation at all. There are two reasons for this decision:
    1) They cannot perform remediation to 3rd party systems since they do not manage the asset.
    2) They currently have software deployment farmed out to another company which do not use WSUS. They use tivoli.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Tasks Remediation Tasks

Hi, I am new to Operations Manager and am working with some different user roles. When I create a remediation Task using the Wizard, I am only able to view the task from the web console for a user if I Target the "Windows Computers" target.
For example, if I wanted to create a group that contained print servers and I created a monitor to check the status of the Print Spooler service. Can I create a view for users that includes only the Print Servers (win 2012) and a remediation task that enables
a restricted user to restart the Spooler service if it stops?
Many thanks for any advice, in advance.
    EcherontiusXP

Yes, you are able to do this.
Just create a new Operator role "Print Server Operators", select only the group containing the Print Servers, on the next page select only the tasks you like those operators to see and after that select the views that they should see in the (web)
    console.
If you need assistance in creating a dynamic group with all computers hosting print server I'd recommend my recent blog post:

  • Advice on upgrade needed

    Hi,
I need to upgrade my machine, and would be very grateful for some advice from the more knowledgeable.
I want my laptop to be faster and more powerful, and to support at least Tiger OS, and preferably Leopard. I think this means I need a faster processor, possibly more RAM? I also want the best wireless capacity available - at the moment, I have an Airport Extreme card. Finally, I need a new battery.
What I'm really asking is, will it be cheaper and more sensible to have my existing laptop upgraded in line with the above, or should I sell it and buy a new one? Either way, I would very much appreciate advice on how best to go about it. I live in London if that makes any difference, and I know very little about computers (as you can probably tell), so there is no question of me tinkering with the laptop myself.
    Hope you can help. Thanks!

Hi, hazzabamboo, and welcome to Apple Discussions. Your Powerbook can run Tiger or Leopard as is, though in either case you'd benefit substantially from additional RAM. You can install up to 2GB. Its processor can't be upgraded at all, so you don't need to worry about that. Your Airport Extreme card should provide wireless capability sufficient for almost any needs, but if it isn't doing so, please tell us what's unsatisfactory about it and we'll see if we can help you remedy the problem.
If your question has been prompted by encountering software updates or upgrades that require more recent OS versions than 10.3.9, then you can meet those requirements fairly easily and inexpensively with more RAM and new OS installer discs. But if you want to run software or peripheral devices that require a faster processor or an Intel processor, then upgrading to a newer Mac is the only way forward.
