X2-10G-LR reuse on short distance?

Hi all,
I need to implement VSS on 6500 equipped with Sup720-10GE and WS-X6704; considering that this last 10G card doesn't support VSL, I need to realize VSS interchassis connections on Supervisor 10G interfaces, but I only have X2-10G-LR. Considering that the 2 6500 are in short distance (few meters): is it possible to use 10G long range optics and, if yes, do I need some additional patch?
Thanks

Hello,
i think there is no minimum distance for LR, so you should be able to use for short distance over single mode fibers

  • I dropped my ipod a short distance and now it won't turn on

I dropped my ipod 4th gen a short distance in a protective case and it immediately turned off.  When I turned it back on, the apple sign was blinking.  I tried to restore it and that didn't work.  Is there anything else I can do?

Just get it serviced.  Thats about your only option.  Sounds like that 'short distance' knocked something loose inside.

  • Shortes distance

    Dear all
I have create a spatial (SDO, not LRS) Network using the procedure
    EXECUTE SDO_NET.CREATE_SDO_NETWORK
    ('SDO_MY_ROADNETWORK', 1, TRUE, TRUE);
and I have populate only these tables
    SDO_MY_ROADNETWORK_NODE$
    SDO_MY_ROADNETWORK_LINK$
    instead these are not populate
    SDO_MY_ROADNETWORK_PATH$
    SDO_MY_ROADNETWORK_PLINK$
then I have Update the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA and create the spatial indexes.
    Now I need to find the shortes distance from NODE_ID = 1 to NODE_ID = 25
I have read about Retrieving information (getting information about the network, checking for a characteristic):
    like SDO_NET.GET_CHILD_LINKS
    SDO_NET.GET_CHILD_NODES SDO_NET.GET_CHILD_NODES
    SDO_NET.GET_GEOMETRY_TYPE SDO_NET.GET_GEOMETRY_TYPE
    SDO_NET.GET_IN_LINKS SDO_NET.GET_IN_LINKS
But I have not found the exacly SDO_NET functions or procedures to do this
If anyone could help please replay.
Thanks for your help in advance.

    hii everyone.
i establish a network on oracle. i created spatial indexes and i register my node and link table to metadata. i can get shortest path between 2 nodes using java api. but i wanna use these functions in my project without java api. when i work on documents i noticed that there are some functions
    sdo_net_mem.network_manager.read_network
    sdo_net_mem.network_manager.shortest_path
    sdo_net_mem.path.get_link_array
avaible on oracle in PL/SQL. of course it can use with sdo_net_mem package. when i look my packages, i see sdo_net_mem but it is empty.
how can i get that package.
or is there anyway to include this api in oracle like a package.
    thanks

  • HT3887 Hi I have just got some new wWas iireless head phones and when I use them with the Bluetooth on my iPhone 4S it breaks up all the time even from short distance but when using my girlfriends iPhone 5 or iPad it's fine no problems atall!!! Any ideas

Hi I have just got some wireless head phones and while using Bluetooth with my iPhone 4S the sound breaks up all the time but if I use a friends iPhone 5 or my iPad it's fine no problems atall! Any ideas what the problem could be people??????

Unpair the headset from the phone with the problem. Restart the phone (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears), the pair the headset again. Also, look for things nearby that may be causing interference in the Bluetooth band. Cordless phones are a common cause of interference.

  • Distance from a Zip Code

I have a list of 500 names with corresponding zip codes and I want Numbers to automatically tell me the distance the person's zip code is from a default zip code.  Is there any way to do this so I don't have to put each one individually into Google Maps?  Any help is appreciated!

"Once you know the coordinates of the two you can computer a distance by:
assuming LAT is x and LONG is y:
    D = sqrt((x1 - x2)^2 + (y1 - y2)^2)
or the square root of the sum of the squares"
Works well if the earth is flat. But it's not, and the Pythagorean equation is a bit too simple.
Here's an example: two pairs of coordinates; both pairs with the same NS difference and the same EW difference in location, measured in degrees and minutes.
    Austin to San Diego
    San Diego is at N 32° 42' W 117° 10'
    Austin is at      N 30° 16' W 97° 44'
    Difference:           2° 26', 19° 26'
    ? to Spokane
    Spokane is at  N 47° 40' W 117° 26'
    - same Difference: 2  26        19  26
    ? is at             N 45° 14' W  98° 00'  (near Aberdeen SD).
x1 and x2 are the same in both cases, as are y1 and y2.
But the 'crow's flight' distance from Austin to Sandiego is 1860 km, and from near Aberdeen to Spokane is 1509 km, using the calculator at http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html
Even those are described as 'close enough in most cases, as they're based on the assumption the earth is a (perfect) sphere. Not accounting for the equatorial bulge results in errors of up to 0.3%, according to the site linked above.
The site also includes the necessary equations.
The site also notes that 'for short distances' the Pythagorean calculations 'may be close enough.'

  • X2-10GB-LX4, minimal distance - could I use singlemode patchcord?

I need to connect two 6506 with X2-10GB-LX4, they reside in adjacent racks, so the patch cord length is no more than 10 meters. The X2-10GB-LX4 documentation is not clear about SMF ranges, it only notes that
"Another alternative for short reaches within the same location is to use a single-mode patch cable. There will be no saturation over single-mode fiber. Please note the 10GBASE-LX4 devices can reach up to 10km over single-mode fiber as per compliance to IEEE.".
The MMF notes are much clearer, they say I can use OM2 MMF with mode conditioning patchcords and 5db 1300nm attentuators, also I could use OM3 MMF with same attentuators, but that's the configurations I'd prefer to avoid.
So could I just get an SMF patchcord and plug in to both tranceivers? Have I need to use attentuators or whatever else on such kind of link?

According to the documentation and the specifications, if you use SMF patch cables, you can plug the two LX4 transceivers together without any attenuators or mode conditioning patchcords. The maximum transmit power specification (-0.5dBm) of the LX4 transceiver is equal to the its maximum receiver input specification (-0.5dBm).
The use of the LX4 transceiver for this short distance application is a very costly solution. The SX over MMF would be more economical.

  • Nexus (5010) To FEX Distance Limitations

    Hello,
My question is concerning the software-imposed distance limitations for Nexus-to-Fex connections.
With a Nexus 5010 running 4.2 (1) N1 (1) code, I believe there is a software limitation on the distance the FEX can be located from the Nexus.  I have two questions concerning this:
Is there any log data, or a cli command, to verify that the fex connection has exceeded that distance?
What symptoms are produced when the fex is too far from the Nexus (ie, does the link come up but the image not load?)
I would like to determine that the reason I have a FEX, located in a second data centre, that is not coming up is actually related to the distance from the FEX to the Nexus and not related to some other problem.
    Thanks for any suggestions/info offerred.
    Simon

I have not seen any reference to a software limitation for the distance between a N5K and a FEX.
The release notesfor 4.2(1)N1) listed si not showing it unless, my first cup of coffee has not kicked in
    http://http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/configuration_limits/limits_421/Cisco_Nexus_5000_Series_Configuration_Limits_for_Cisco_NX_OS_Release_421_N1_1_and_421_N2_1_chapter1.html
As far as believe the only distance limitation would be the type of cable used. Either the distance limitation of the SMF SFP or the MMF SFP, or the CX ethernet cable which has reletively short distance spans.
Where is you here about this limitation?
And more importantly, what issues are you have towards the FEX?

  • How can I use one external hard drive for both Time Machine and iPhoto Library?

I have been using a 1 TG LaCie external hard drive for Time Machine backups.  My (older) Mac has 160 GB and is almost full.  I would like to move my iPhoto Library to the external hard drive, but I've heard Time Machine doesn't share one space well.  Should I
    1.  create another partition (but will this erase what I've already saved) with Disk Utility?  *I am running Snow Leopard*
    2.  create another volume to use for iPhoto, and if so, should the two volumes be of equal size?
    3.  leave it with one partition and move the iPhoto Library to the same partition with Time Machine back ups?
I know I don't need the entire 1 TG for back up of 160 GBs.  Please advise the best path to take.  Thank you!

You are getting incorrect information from your ASP. If you look at drive specifications the heat generated is no different for high vs low capacity drives.
I have upgraded the internal drive in my iMac 2007 with a 3TB Hitachi drive without any heat issues or other problems.
Larger hard drives have higher density platters so to access any given amount data the drives travel a shorter distance. Higher capacity drives should therefore run cooler than lower density drives because the drive spends less time spinning to access data.

  • What is the difference between LH and LX modules?

I would like to know the difference between LX and LH SFP modules. Long Haul ( LH ) denotes longer distances while Long Wavelength ( LX ) denotes less energy which is obviously shorter distance. Why does Cisco use both LX and LH for certain SFP modules?
Do they denote the capability of the module to work both for MM ( which will be Long wavelength ) and SM ( Long Haul ) fiber? Do correct me if i am wrong.
What does it infer if a modules says like "Cisco 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP" ?

What does it infer if a modules says like "Cisco 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP
Generally a module is either made for single mode (More distance) / multimode (short distance). But this module can be used for both Single mode and Multimode.
If used with SM fiber it can go upto 10Km
It used with MM it can go upto 550meters (depend on what kind os MM fiber you have) You need a mode conditioning patch chord too with legacy MM i think OM1 and 2.
Long Haul ( LH ) denotes longer distances while Long Wavelength ( LX ) denotes less energy which is obviously shorter distance. Why does Cisco use both LX and LH for certain SFP modules
Read this link and dont worry about LX/LH (You will ge tthe distance mentiond above depending on the type of fibe ryou are using)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabit_Ethernet
Before it was standardized 1000BASE-LX10 was essentially already in widespread use by many vendors as a proprietary extension called either 1000BASE-LX/LH or 1000BASE-LH

  • My ipod stops or pauses while I am walking...I am using the nike sensor with my Ipod.  Will it pause when I stop walking for a period of time?

I have purchased the nike sensor to use with my Ipod touch.  I tried it on the golf course and it kept pausing after time.. I tried the different ways to work out eg basic, timed, calories...but it kept pausing after a short distance.   Is this because you stop and start with golf?  Is there a setting I can adjust?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • How to output sound to RCA cables?

I give up! I can't for the life of me figure out how to output the sound from my Macbook to play on my stereo or TV which use RCA cable hook-ups.
I got the VID ADPT MINI-DVI TO VIDEO ADAPTER-GEN but that only adapts the video, not the sound. Do I have to get some kind of optical to analog adapter?

This would do the trick, although you can probably find something at Radio Shack for less.
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=FFB 21895&fnode=home/shopipod/ipod_accessories/cablesdocks&nplm=TN779LL/A
I got an iPod kit with a power supply, extra dock, and a Monster Cable (yeah I think they're overhyped) mini jack to RCA connector.
There are a bunch of ways you can do this. If you've already got long enough RCA cables, these would do the trick:
    http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103710
Or if you have a short distance, maybe something like this (doesn't say how long it is):

There are more attractive versions of this type of adapter. Radio Shack shows at least a dozen from different companies.

  • Brain pick on an old problem of mine (squealing and poping sound when system is under heavy loa

Firstly, my apologies if this post gets double posted as I am on a barely functional dsl connection?<SPAN> It get?s flaky when it rains which is only periodically for about 2 months of the year?
I was wondering if someone in the know might be able to clue me in as to any fixes for this VERY old issue of mine.
I have already searched a bit and all I found was the squeal and crash issue, mine is similar but not identical.
    History:
I have been a creative card user since the first SoundBlaster came out (and jammed it into a 286 system). Well I think it was the first since I was new to computers then?
Anyway I have had an SB, SB6, SB6AWE, SB Li've, and now SB li've Audigy 2 ZS. Pretty sure I had an audigy pro card (a family member was upgrading so I grabbed theirs for cheap).
Since around the audigy series of cards I have been working on friends and family member?s (and their friends/family) on the side.<SPAN> Though these days I am not a happy camper.
    Problem:
I am having this problem that I have now learned to li've with where when I am playing sounds (game or music) and the system gets under some type of heavy load I get LOUD squealing and popping sounds (mostly the squealing kind). The sound can be in excess of my volume settings and I tend to wear headphones (I can't believe I wasn?t deafened the first few times and occasionally recently when I forget, actually I have been having trouble understanding people lately, need to get my ears checked I guess).
Heavy load defined:-On occasion copying files from one dri've to another (usually large files in this case).
-Always when copying files over a network to or from my system.
-in few cases of a network heavy or hard dri've heavy application (lan games anyone?) ? Mostly when I am hosting.
NOTE: for the most part the card works fine in games as I usually don?t do something else while playing a game, usually.
    For how long?:
This is hard for me to place.<SPAN> I remember wanting to upgrade to 2k when it came out but I heard from friends that had tried to upgrade that the drivers for the sb6 awe or any other creative card were garbage so I delayed upgrading to win2k till I got my first + ghz system and didn?t have much choice. I have been dealing with this since (also at the time I had an audigy or perhaps just a li've, hard to place).
Steps to solve this (not resolved yet):
I have tried several different configurations, this problem has been present on both an amd and 2 (or more) different intel chi
    ps.
The problem has not been present on non-creative products under 2k (yes I had a card made by the company that creative bought out a while back), driver updates have done nothing or made it worse (though recent drivers seem to be a little better).
A while back (on the amd machine) I tried dealing with creative via e-mail and got canned responses of things I had already tried (and had noted in my request for help that I had already tried them) even as far as completely clean installs and as I mentioned different systems.
I am now using completely different hardware besides the sound card.<SPAN> Swapping out for other soundcards doesn?t help if they are creative cards (I even went as far as trading someone else identical cards to no avail).
I have even tried windows xp to see if that would help, nope.
The only solution to this so far has been not to use the card and for a while now I have been suggesting to friends and family to just use the internal on mobo sound instead of an add on creative card.
I have even had someone else build me a system (as apposed to my building it) just in case I was doing something weird, no help.
That and just not listening to anything when I am about to put my computer under a heavy load (and making sure to disconnect the phones just in case since sometimes it happens without sound playing, RARELY).
    Current system specs:intel p4 2.66 ghz
Audigy 2 zs (platinum if memory serves, pretty sure here)
    Geforce 6800gt
    gig of ram
(I would have to hunt around for other details like mobo)
I have to say all this effort to get one companies hardware to work just sucks and what sucks more is I have no choice on the market, there is only one noteworthy sound card company when it comes to gaming, on the plus side there isn?t much for me to look forward to in gaming these days? I don?t like MMOs (if I can't play in on a lan and just the people on the lan I don?t care for the game much). Halflife (the reason I bought the geforce 6800 gt card) renders the world in such a way as to make me motion sick (just like all the quake games) so that was a waste of money?
The reason that there isn?t much to look forward to in gaming is because I can just disable my creative card and enable my onboard mobo sound and actually hear sound while doing stuff as apposed to garbled deafening screeching sounds that I do now when I forget to stop sound before doing something hard on the system?
Personally this is a last cry for help before I completely give up, I am already a very disenchanted customer hoping there might be some way that I can just listen to music or play games without much worry about sound (the squeals can be heard from across the room from the headsets set at a normal volume so you can imagine what that?s like when they are on my head). I have already, for the last couple of years, been steering people away from creative products in general touting their core product a failure and the people that didn?t believe I just let them sit and listen to some music and then copy a file?
Sound and music are almost more important to me than graphics btw, I have returned games for poor (in my opinion) quality sound tracks (mostly EA products) and have bought games that had good sound/music but poor graphics, heck I still play some old dos games (loom anyone).
Sorry the end there got a little ranty, so anyone have suggestions to the problem section?
One last thing: This took me a while to find and is a bonus to anyone that read all that? For some relati'vely cheap 5. headphones (all I had looked at were over $00) check out the zalman headphones. I have had mine for well over a year now and they still sound just as good as when I got them (even after the ear shattering squeals) and only cost me $50)<SPAN> They are sturdy too (more than I expected), I tend to break headphones within 5 months even some nice $50 stereo ones and these things are still intact.<SPAN> By break I mean break a wire, blow a speaker (squeals) (not literally exploded), snap the headpiece?<SPAN> I can't seem to see a direct link to the speakers so google zalman and headphones?

I don't know if anyone is following this or cares much but I thought I would add some info for those that like me before signing up, simply searched and found some useful tidbits. I also didn't see an option to edit my previous post as most boards I post on have that option to give you an alternati've to double posting...
My system was gigabit however I only had cat5 cable with a megabit switch. Now the switch is gigabit with a cat5e cable and a short distance from me to the hub (same system otherwise). The gigabit is onboard.
I figured I would see a bit speed boost with the new network and indeed in games I did see an improvement on large data transmitting games (American Conquest 4x4 maps in multiplayer LAN) however I expected file transfers between me and other gigabit on mobo cat5e systems would be significantly better. Instead I saw speeds only slightly better than before, around to 2 megabytes per second (using a measurement tool Netstat li've from AnalogueX) and that annoying screeching. At those speeds that might explain why the game was still on the jerky side (a full blown 4x4 map the way we play stresses all computer components but network seemed to be the bottleneck).
My solution to getting fast file transfers? Disabling my sound card by going to device manager right clicking on the Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS item and choosing disable. With an acti've file transfer (large single file rather than small files) I saw about -2 megabytes per second. Within moments of disabling the soundcard I suddenly had about 20 megabytes per second and the estimated time went from 0 minutes to almost finished...
I have to say on an aside that this just adds to my disappointment with this card (and the fact that I have seen similar poor performance in other peoples cards set up by me or not). This continues to cast a light of doubt for me and future creative products. I have to say though that the X-Fi (after fully updating drivers) seems like it *MIGHT* be worth a try? I certainly won?t drop any money into a new creative card (or recommend creative computer equipment) until I see some good proof that problems such as those that plagued this and other creative cards are gone.
Now remembering several posts I read here (and why I am even posting this), I tried disabling some of the features of my nice Creative card (through the various consoles for example the EAX console). Indeed I did see a performance boost (more on that later) as well as death to the squeals (though oddly I did hear that odd electrical interference noise that is supposed to be why onboard audio sucks) and my ears thanked me for that. As for performance my transfer rates went from -2 megabytes per second to a whopping 4-8 megabytes per second (mostly 5). I am definitely leaving those special features disabled for bandwidth intensi've games, after all they are mostly meant for movie and music enhancement (though they make some games sound nice too). I should note that the squeals, though not deafening, are present with other separations in playback, during file transfers. This isn?t much of an issue for me since win2k (and XP) lets me disable and enable my sound card at will without reboots (most of the time) and it has become habit to work around my sound card in this way already.
I know that there is a limited bandwidth on the system bus between all devices however I just have to wonder why my SB Audigy card is using up so much bandwidth when not doing jack... That and I thought that limit was much higher than 20 or so megabytes per second which has me wonder just how much this sound card is wasting (and possibly stressing) in my system when not doing anything. My guess though is the sound card is merely interfering with PCI traffic and not acti'vely using it (though I am not aware of tools to check this). This might explain why I have gotten less than stellar performance out of other hardware though I have yet to try pushing my system with the sound card off yet?
While I still can't recommend creative sound cards to customers at least I can't say that Creative doesn't make anything worth buying anymore (and I used to be a huge creative advocate). The new Zen mini player got pretty good praise (search maximum PC for the review).
Assuming this thread stays open I will add more of my hopefully useful experience with this sound card. If on the other hand it'ss closed up (since there were a few unkind comments) I should have to assume that Creative has completely turned it'ss back on me as well as my current and future customers (unless some other reason for closing is given of course). As it is now I see signs of improvement in the companies? products (which pleases me to no end) though not yet enough to justify my spending or recommendations, besides the portable device, though I have no interest in devices that don?t allow for flash memory expansion I have been asked about them on occasion.

  • How can I locate my lost iPod touch within my WiFi network range?!

I am still using my 1st gen iPod touch from 2008 for apps and music and other uses.  I rely on it quite a bit although of course I have a separate cell phone for now (will eventually get an iPhone).  However, I synced it with iTunes right before going on a long shopping spree Thursday afternoon then hooked it to my car's stereo system to listen to as I often do.  Upon returning home, tired and with multiple bags, I was trying to juggle them all on several trips from my car to front door (about 30 ft.).  The iPod touch always picks up my WiFi network in my car as soon as I pull in, and with my hands full on my last trip I realized I'd forgotten to disconnect my iPod touch so I could bring it in too.  I'll admit I was getting bogged down and annoyed so I disconnected it then remember also dropping some bags and picking them up from the parking space.  An hour later, after finally getting most bags and myself at least somewhat settled, I remembered I hadn't reconnected my iPod touch to its JBL docking system.  I soon realized I couldn't find it in the house and went with a flashlight to look in the car and outside between the house and car.  I searched for hours in all likely places and again the next day.  I also thought about an hour after losing it to check AirPort Utility's advanced pane which includes the logs, wireless clients and DHCP clients.  Sure enough it was still picking the device up, every 30 minutes or so periodically showing "binding added" and "binded dropped" for my iPod's IP address via NAT, and also "associated with" and "disassociated with" the iPod's unique MAC address.
My worst fear was that I dropped it outside and someone dishonest took it, but that seems unlikely because I really don't have those kinds of neighbors and I searched immediately for it everywhere it could be (in my car, under it, outside everywhere I walked, in the house in the oddest places like under furniture, in discarded shopping bags, the trash can and even the freezer!  Sure enough, for 13 hours AirPort Utility showed activity contacting (or detecting) the device as mentioned above, until about 9:30 the next morning.  Since then there has been no log activity detected, and the device itself listed with MAC address has also disappeared under the "DHCP Clients" pane of AirPort Utility. I realize this could simply be the battery dying after all this time (although it should be in sleep mode), but the point is it was close by for all that time even after I'd searched for it, so it is unlikely someone found it easily after I searched everywhere I'd been in the short distance from parked car to home.  It also has a black rubber "suit" so the entire thin 8GB device is thin and completely black all over, further disguising it, especially at night.
My question is that since this is not an iPhone and I cannot "call it" to find it, and it is only a 1st gen. iPod touch without a built-in speaker to make loud noises unless hooked to headphones or a line output, how can I find it?  It does make the tiny super high-pitched digital beeps when I get a "push" notification but I don't see how that does me any good unless someone from an app I use tries to contact me while I'm in extremely close proximity to hear those faint tones. Anyway, I really do need it and it's driving me crazy knowing it is within such a short range from me either inside my house or car (or outside in a short straight path from car to my doorstep) yet I am helpless.  Is there anything anyone can suggest?  It's almost worst than knowing I lost it anywhere, because I know it's here, but want to find it soon before someone else does (if outside) or the trash gets thrown out (if it fell in there) or it gets run over if on the street somewhere I missed.

There is no way to automatcally locate it.
Since WiFi does not travel far talk to your neighbors. Perhaps one of them (or their children) found your iPod.
If this does not work make a more thorough search of your house to find it.

  • How do I set up Airport extreme as a remote with Gateway 2wire as a base

I just switched over to sbcglobal from comcast. Before switching, I had been using an APE as a base station connected with ethernet to my G5 and another APE as a remote. With sbcgobal I got a Gateway 2wire modem. What I would like to know is how do I set up my APE as remote? I need this to be able get my G4 powerbook to connect. I can wireless connect using my G4 a short distance away but if I go to the other end of the house no luck. Thats why I need this remote.
    thanks

Unfortunately, you won't be able to do this as few non-AirPort routers will work with AirPorts in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS).

  • HT1695 New iPhone 5 -only able to get wifi when sitting next to router. My old 3GS with iOS 5.1 works fine all over house.  Any ideas on how I can get my new iPhone 5 to work as well as old 3GS?

I just got my new iPhone 5 yesterday.   I'm having difficulty maintaining a wifi connection. I can get reception when I'm sitting next to router but I get a short distance away and I get the message 'unable to connect to network'.   My old iPhone 3GS works fine at same places where new iPhone 5 won't connect.  I still am using ios 5.1  on 3GS.  I've turned off my old phone to make sure it isn't causing some type of interference and also switched off the cellular network to try to force it into wifi mode but without any success. I don't think it's my router since my old 3GS is working fine. Anybody have any further thoughts?  Thanks

There are some low-profile slots though 1 of them are occupied by the firewire card: 1 low-profile PCI, 2 low-profile PCI Express x16, 1 low-profile PCI Express x1
We actually purchased 13 of these computers for video editing, so I really hope it is possible to fix this without buying 13 low-profile graphics adapters. What gets to me is the fact that it does work when I disable the driver. (!) Shold therefore be doable to make a driver/update that works :-(
Any ideas? Or, in worst case, anyone know about a low-profile graphics card that works?
    Thanks,
    Steffen
