  • Why is Firefox Nightly always doing the same Update 10.0a1 (2011-10-30) every two days???

you nightly version is always doing a repeat of the following Update: (Version 10.0a1 (2011-10-30) almost every two days. The update is applied correct and status has been given.

If you continue to Test the Nightly channel builds then next week this time will probably have the version number itself change to 11.0a1after move/merge on the channels.
The 64-bit builds on Windows are still only Tier-2 builds so they are not as much of a priority as regular builds. One of the main reasons for these builds are for to help catch breakage as it is possible to break the 64-bit but not 32-bit builds. Originally it was just Linux nightlies that had 64-bit builds (over three years ago) as they were only really for to test breakage and such.

  • I don't want to upgrade to 5.0 until my anti-virus software plug-n is compatible. How can I stop Firefox bugging me to upgrade every two days?

The nag screen to make me update is coming up every two days when I click 'ask me later'. This is not 'later' in my book, it is going to take longer than two says for my av supplier to update their plug-in, I'll bet.
Ok, I know in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal but ffs, even Adobe can get their head round giving you a choice of how long before you want to be nagged again. And they used to be really demanding!

Try going to the Tools menu item, and choose Options.
In the popup, select the Advanced screen (cog icon) and under that, the Update sub-tab. On that tab, uncheck the various boxes for checking for updates, and see if that helps?

iCloud is not compatible with Snow Leopard, that is your problem.
A quick way out is to purchase Soho Organizer which is compatible, even when running on Snow Leopard, it will correctly handle Contacts and Calendars from iCloud. $100, 2 user license.
    Soho Organizer
There is a free trial if you want to try it.

Try to Restore with iTunes on your computer. If this does not work, there is full Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

  • WRT120N Wireless crashes every two days, have to reboot

About every two days, my wrt120n's wireless stops working.  The wired end works fine.  So, I have to log into the router and reboot it, or go unplug and plug it back in.  After repowering or rebooting, it works fine.  Any ideas??

Are you getting the problem on all the wireless computer or on some particular computer...?
Try the following settings on the router and check..
Open the router setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and Under the Advanced Wireless Settings...Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...Power cycle the router and check.

  • Macbook freezes once every two days.

I just bought this Macbook, roughly 6 months ago, and it has been freezing since the beginning. At first I thought it was me, but now, after calling the mac support every two weeks, I've realized that it is in fact the machine.
I've been told that it is the Optical Drive, but after reading up on this feature, it doesn't sound like it is. Anyway, it freezing when I'm surfing the net, listening to Itunes or watching a movie. When I'm surfing the net, it makes absolutely no noises but when I'm playing a movie or listening to music it makes a cracking noise.
Please help, because I am about ready to take this computer back and get PC.

If you've been calling Mac Support every two weeks, they would have a record of your problems.
As the other posted has suggested, if there is a hardware problem, it should be under warranty, and Apple should repair/ replace if for you.
Assuming that Apple Support considers this a hardware problem, I'd entrust my computer to them to fix it for you.

  • MacBook Pro Medio 2012 freezes literally once every two minutes?

    Hello Apple Support Community,
I have a MacBook Pro Medio 2012 running the latest edition of OS X Mountain Lion which I have been enjoying for almost a year now. I must say that it's the best machine I've ever owned and I have never encountered any problems with it. Until last friday. I was using it at home before school, browsing internet, listening to music and chatting on IRC. I then closed it down and went to school. When I started it at the school it suddenly was really slow and literally froze every two minutes. I spent most of the day figuring how to solve this really annoying issue and I searched a lot on Google a lot. I gave up and decided to do a complete re-install of OS X through the menu you can open when booting (cmd + r).
I have this one time earlier and this time it took far more time than last time. It took me 12 hours this time.. Anyway, it finished the install of OS X and I configured my account and such. I now thought that everything should be well, but no. I have the exact same issues as before and I can't seem to figure out how to solve this annoying issue. Which is also the reason for me to come and ask you guys.
    Things I already have tried:
    - Re-installing OS X
    - Clearing the SMC
I hope this problem can be solved without any costs. I'm a student which obviously means that I don't have a lot of money to spent on such things.
    Regards
    Daniel

Honesty you have already test it. When you have the original RAM installed the system did Not Freeze, Correct?
Then you installed this other RAM and Now the system Freezes. The RAM you installed is either Bad or not the correct type for your Model Mac.
Sure there could be some other reason, But I doubt it. Simple test. Reinstall the original RAM. If the system does not freeze then you have your Proof, the new RAM you bought is either Bad or the wrong type.

  • Apple ID locked every two days

Over the years, my Apple ID has been locked due to someone entering the password incorrectly too many times. This was never me. In order to provide security, I set up two factor authentication on both my apple ID and all email addresses (gmail and yahoo) that I use to recover the Apple ID. Since late October of this year, I have had to unlock my Apple ID at least once a week. As we approach Christmas, I am having to unlock it every other day.
I have called this into Apple. They have verified that no one has breached my password and no one has used my iTunes account to purchase things.  Yet, they offer no solution to stopping this.
I believe that at least three individuals think my apple ID is theirs because I routinely get personal email meant for other people (invitations to baby shower, orders for shoes, etc). I don't have any way to contact these individuals.
I wanted to see if you all had any suggestions beyond changing my Apple ID. I've had the same Apple ID/email address since Steve Jobs announced iTools and the @mac.com email address and I wouldn't like to let it go.
    Thanks,
    Melissa

Well, it doesn't mean that at all. You can download music purchased with an Apple ID to up to 10 devices. There is no 90 day wait. The wait is if you change the Apple ID.

  • ITunes freezes on startup every time - reboot always needed.

    Hi all,
I'm on Snow Leopard, fully up-to-date, and the version of iTunes I have crashes on startup every single time, and the only way I can recover my system is to reboot my MacBook.
    The process is:
    1. Start iTunes from dock.
    2. iTunes opens
    3. "Analyzing Song Volume" appears in the top-center iTunes dialog box.
    4. iTunes freezes
    5. Reboot.
I've tried deleting the track it's analyzing and it made no difference - it seems to think the track still exists as the same track name pops up in the dialog box every time before it freezes.
iTunes is thus completely unusable on my system, which means my iPhone's gone far too long without a backup, any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

    try this:
quit iTunes. move the following file to the desktop: <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/library/preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
fire up iTunes (which will create a new .plist file). if it works now you can trash the plist file you moved to the desktop.

  • IChat AV 3.1.9 Keeps Wanting Setup at startup every few days--Why?

I have three Macs and all are setup using mobile accounts so that my data on each machine is pretty much identical; however, my office machine does not have an iSight for video chat, whereas, my home and laptop both do. My User/Library does not sync, but everything else does. Any ideas why iChat AV wants me to run setup every few days?

What does happen when you try to synch the Library ?
The Library has a Sub folder for Preferences.
It hold amoungst other things the iChat .plists Removing all of these will get iChat to Redo the Start Up Screens.

  • External hard drive networked via AirPort Extreme gives "The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)" roughly every two days

My lab has about 10 Mac computers.  We all access a central hard drive by the way of wifi provided by AirPort.  It's just a regular external hard drive (Seagate Desktop Drive) that I turned into our central storage space by plugging it into AirPort (USB).  It works pretty well.  We seem to be fine with viewing the file directories, opening files, saving, deleting etc., for a day or two.  But then after a day or two, when when trying to modify files or move new files onto the central hard drive, we get the error message: "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)"
Any suggestions as to what may be causing this problem?
All of the computers are 2011 iMacs & MacPros.  The AirPort is 802.11n WiFi.  The hard drive is a Seagate USB 3.0 Desktop Drive.
    Thank you for your insight/suggestions.

Thanks for your reply.  I agree about the communication issue. Let me explain my setup and what I am trying to do and perhaps you can answer my questions or make suggestions.
I have a MAC Mini with a Sony TV for the video monitor.  The  Mac Mini is hard wired to the AE (Airport Extreme).  The AE has a 2 TB HD hooked up to the USB Port.  I have a 17" Mac Book Pro on the WIFI Network.
I am trying to use the MAc Mini as a "Media Server" of sorts.  Once I get iTunes running the way I plan I am goign to hook up my Apple TV (2nd Generation) to my television downstairs.
What I am trying to accomplish is have iTunes on all my computers look to the External HD on the AE for the files.  This is why I am having my (-50 errors).
So far I have noticed that if I go and try to download from iTunes purchased videos that are not ont he computer (to the external HD) it will also occassionaly give me teh -50 error.
Is there a way to change where the files go when I download them?  Say I want to download videos to the computer but not to the external HD?  However I would want to still be able to move them to the External HD.

  • How come need to restart or reset STB to watch TV in almost every two days?

As subject, is my STB broken can I get a new one?

I have a similar problem. If I leave my dvr on one channel for too long, I eventually get a black screen. I can get the picture back by simply changing channels. The more frustrating problem is that I can't watch any recorded programs. The dvr says the program is playing, but it stays on the current channel. During this error, the stb won't record any programs. The only way to fix it is to reset the stb. Once reset it works fine for a while, but the problem eventually comes back. Any one have a permanent fix other than having the dvr replaced?

  • 18.5GB ipod wont play any song Ive bought on iTunes after two days

I don't know what generation it is, but it says version 3.1.1 and model number M9282LL in the 'About' section
I have to plug my iPod into my machine every two days or it will start skipping through any song I've ever purchased on iTunes. The only songs that will play after that are what I've ripped from CDs. Even when there is nothing to update, I must plug the iPod in and let it run through the update routine. It then works fine for another 2 days. I've searched here and found nothing. Nobody Ive talked to in the mac stores have ever heard of this happening. Any ideas?
    TIA

Once you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, if the problem still exists, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.
The following articles will help you.
    Authorization and Deauthorization.
How to create a new user account on a Mac.
    How to restore the iPod.
How to recreate your iTunes library.
Apple are also working on the theory that this may have a connection with the iPod entering deep sleep and not playing purchased music afterward until you resync it again.
