1) Make sure you are using the computer as an administrator
2) Uninstall hotkey driver and reboot
3) Download ccleaner, run the program and clean the registry and fix any error
4) Download latest hotkey directly from lenovo and install

  • T440p hotkey integration driver fail - win7 x64

Brand new T440p laptop out of the box.
Imaged with preconfigured company Windows 7 x64 image I have used hundreds of times before via MDT.
WDS packaged T440p drivers (downloaded from Lenovo website) are injected as part of the MDT installation process.
All windows updates applied (except for the Lenovo PM Device Driver otherwise the thing no longer reboots or shuts down properly anymore)
BIOS flashed to latest T440p revision.
Run Lenovo System Update to install hotkey drivers and receive the following:
As you can see Win7 x64... driver says no.
    Restarted and tried again... error.
Tried downloading the driver manually from http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t44...
    Same error.
Searched for and downloaded version 5.40
    Same error.
I ran Lenovo System Update 2 days ago on another T440p laptop, may have been a slightly different internal spec... not sure but I'm farily sure the driver was named differently in System Update. The driver Installed on that machine fine and functions as intended.
The driver could very well could have been updated since then I guess.
I do also know this is a newer batch of T440p's as the box configuration that it ships in has changed and looks completely different.
    What gives?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just for giggles I decided to re-image the machine and see if it made a difference.
This time I ran System Update BEFORE any windows update.
    Hotkey driver installed just fine.
Maybe there's some windows update incompatibility.
I'm not about to go testing all this stuff so if anyone from Lenovo actually reads these posts, it might be worth investigating...

  • How to uninstall hotkey driver? How to update hotkey driver?

How can I know the version of existing installed hotkey driver?  Where does it hide?
When I update the hotkey driver, do I need to uninstall the existing installed one first?
If yes, how can I uninstall the existing hotkey driver?

    Hi,
please note, that Hotkey features is the name of the package, that contains following two parts:
    On Screen Display
    ThinkPad FullScreen Magnifier
In case you want to find the installed version of your Hotkey, then go to following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
    press CTRL+F and search for
    Hotkey
This will start the search and shortly you should find the correct key, where on the right side you will see following:
    DisplayName  ThinkPadHotkey Features Setup
DisplayVersion --> the value will be the installed version.
It might look differently, but in here you can see it.
In case you do an upgrade, you don't need to do any uninstall. All will be done automatically.
Please let me know, if you have anny additional questions.
In case this answers your question, please mark this as a fixed thread.
    Cheers

  • HP Pavilion dv4155cl Notebook PC audio driver for win7

please help me to find the HP Pavilion dv4155cl Notebook PC audio driver for win7.....
                                                                                               thank you very much

    Hi:
Try the XP driver.  You will probably have to manually install it as follows...
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-46934-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Download and run the above file.  Close out of any error windows.
Go to the device manager and click on the Multimedia Audio Controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk and browse to:  C:\SWSetup\sp34210\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\smwdmCH6 and select the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio from the list and see if the driver installs.
    Then reboot.

  • X200 Hotkey screen display location

I hope somebody may help me on my case.
I recently reformated my X200, and updated with all the relevant ThinkVantage tools with latest version.
Now, I came across the problem as below:
Volume Screen  and brightness screen is now shown at mid-bottom location hiding at the back of the Windows bar.  Thus, I am not able to see anything.
the desktop print screen is shown here:

May someone help suggest what I did wrong ? or would this be a problem caused by the latest X200 Hotkey update?
    Thanks in advance. Simon

I have similar problem to yours.  Updated new BIOS and all Hotkey through ThinkVantage.

  • Need Creative SB Live! value (WDM) driver for win7

    hey,
? i just upgraded my PC to win7 and am looking for ideas to get my sound card (Creative SB li've! value (WDM) working again - is there an updated driver or?do i put another Win7 compatible Sound card?
    thanks,
    ? ramesh

Re: Need Creative SB Li've! value (WDM) driver for win7] the driver and applications that exist for the package are very crippled. The card is very very old, even though I loved mine when I first got it. The headache and workarounds that you would have to use in order for that card to simply function are not worth your time.
I am not here to market, but in the last month I have been switching between my Dell OEM xtreme Music, my X-FI Titanium and my Fatality Gamer Pro Platinum. The last two are great cards and have worked for me at least, flawlessly in Vista and Windows 7. I admittedly use the Daniel K. 2.0 pack as a base for my software install of all three, but that coupled with the newest Creative issued driver have worked beatifully.
I picked up my Titanium off Ebay for $40.00. I bought my Dell OEM card for $30.00. I bought the I/O bay for the X-FI Fatality for $25. So your options are very open. That old li've will not accelerate sound well at all for Direct X based games, and you will be very disappointed. Again, all this is opinion, but I have been switching intensely between the above cards lately, and they are worth it. I do not have digital speakers, like the Logitech z-5500's. But my four year old pair of Logitech z-640's sound fantastic. I tried even with my onboard sound just for giggles. It was just that:? giggles.
Try this for a great price and fantastic performance.

  • Hotkey driver 2.23 Windows 7 - Volume keys

I see that there is a new version of the Hotkey driver v2.23 that supports Windows 7 but it still doens't fix the issues I have with my T61p.
I don't get any on screen display when I press the hardware volume up or down keys, although those keys do work to change the volume in windows. Not a huge deal, but the latest version on the Hotkey drivers doesn't fix this at all.
The slightly bigger and more annoying issue is with the hardware mute key, this key will mute the audio (no on sceen indicator) but will not un-mute the audio. It also seems to mute the audio outside of windows, meaning the mute icon doesn't appear in the system tray and using the mute button or volume slider in the windows tray app does not make the audio come back. The only way to get audio back is by pressing the hardware up\down volume keys.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Found a soloution for this, in the On Screen Display tab found via the Advanced Settings for the Display Resolution, there was no font set, setting that makes everything work correctly, including making the mute key work.

    Hi,
I'm performing a downgrade from Win8 to Win7. I've installed all the drivers except for the Radio Switch driver which is listed on the MSI site & supplied on the drivers dvd for Win8 only.
Can someone upload/direct me to the correct driver please.
The notebook is a GE60 0ND (ms-16GA) with bios v5.04. The MSI www has bios 10.E listed???

Have found nothing with google & can't force the win8 driver...
    Thanks

You don't need the Radio Switch driver for Win7 it is only needed for Win8: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/hh450832(v=vs.85).aspx
That's why it is not offered.

  • Officejet Pro L7580 appears as a network drive in Win7

I have a new Dell desktop with 64-bit Win7.  I have installed the printer with HP's latest 64-bit full software program downloaded from HP's website.  My L7580 all-in-one loads on my network as a disk drive.  When I click on the link it reports: "LOCATION NOT AVAILABLE.  Z:\ is not accessible.  An unexpected network error occured."  When I right-click on the link and select "Properties" it displays the properties of a typical disk drive and not the properties of a printer.  When I right-click the link and select "Disconnect" it disconnects this "Z drive".  The L7580 functions perfectly whether or not I leave this "Z drive link" in my network listing and whether or not I choose to disconnect the "Z drive".  At this point it is just an annoying anomaly.  However, I have a networked Lexmark black and white laser printer on this same network and the Lexmark does not exhibit this behavior.  I have a small home network (cable modem, Netgear 4-port router with two computers and these two printers plugged into the 4-port router.  The router assigns both printers their IP addresses and I can connect to each printer's internal web page with its respective information and settings just by typing their respective IP addresses into my browser (192.168.1.x).
Just curious if any of the technical forum members have any thoughts on this anomaly.  I can live with it but just don't want to if I don't have to.
    This question was solved.

I don't think this is an "anomaly". IIRC, the printer has memory card ports. So when you install the printer software, the network drives are created as a reference to the memory card slots. They will appear even if you don't have any cards inserted. Even if you remove them now, they'll reappear after you restart the PC. All I can suggest to you is to ignore it.

  • X200 Hard Drive -- SSD question

    Greetings:
At  $830.00 over the "80GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm" default hard drive option, what advantages does a 64 GB hard drive have over any of the other choices?
If I go with Vista Business 64-bit, how much disk space will the operating system use?
If I went with a 7200rpm hard drive, how much faster is SSD?
For those who have already purchased an X300 or an X200 with SSD, how do you like the hard drive?
Other than being a no-moving parts hard drive, does SSD bring any other benefits to justify the increased cost?
    Thank you.
    Peter M. Abraham
    Dynamic Net, Inc.

The read and write life of the SSD used in the X200 (Samsung unit) is tested to have twice to triple life of the normal HHD, giving it a life of about 20 to 30 years of continual use.
Higher power usage under idle state could be a possibility, so the power savings of SSD over normal HHD is only about 20% in many cases.
Vulnerability  of SSD is something you have to deal with, due to the fact that electrical currents are responsible for the read and write cycle, where as normal HDD use electromagnetic field. Also power outage problem is not something you have to particular worry about due to the existence of your laptop battery, which acts as UPS.
The new SSD write time shouldn't be slower than the normal HDD.

  • Help with T41 wireless driver for Win7

Hi, I have several Tseries (T40, T41, and T43) and I am migrating them to Win7. The T40 went fine, which has a Cisco wireless adapter. I am having trouble with my T41 model 2374-7FG MARG6.
Can you please direct me to the correct driver?
Can you please tell me which adapter I have? The matrix shows it can be three different types and I have tries all drivers, I think.
    Thank you,
    Rick

    Rick, welcome to the forum,
you should have the Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI adapter. According to the driver matrice site The Vista driver was available through Windows Update, have you tried running Win. Update to see if it finds it for you?
    Hope this helps
