X200 Loaded with Win XP Unknown device in device manager

I have a x200 that I am just setting up. I have one Unknown device in the device manager, after downgrading it to Win Xp.
The only ID i can see is ACPI\Intc0102\  I have already installed the intel chip set updates, TPM , Fingerprint reader.
Anyone have a good guess what driver I need?

    Hi,
I just picked up the 8220, real excited until I've had to sit and reinstall the software 3 times, and download the no media manager one off the site, and yet I still cant get my 8220 to connect.  I plug it in and Win xp recognizes it and I can see it in the device manager, but everytime I access device manager it says everything is  disabled or disconnected.  I've tried downloading the french usb-modem drivers from blackberry, tried version 4.5 desktop manager and yet nothing.  I went into device manager in windows and unistalled the phone, then scanned to reinstall it and still nothing.  Any thoughts?? before I give up?

  • Apple Mobile Device USB Driver shows up with an ! in Device Manager (Windows 8)

When trying to sync my iPhone 5C with iTunes for Windows 8, the device is not recognised on the software. I have checked that my devices are up to date and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' in Device Manager, yet it continues to come up with an '!' next to it, and when checking the properties it states "This device cannot start. (Code 10) The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device." How do I fix this problem?

    Hi, acxdunicorn.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed.

  • Satellite U200 with Win XP - Display device change utility is not working

    Hi there,
I reckon there's nothing wrong with his installation since I experience the same problem.
Fresh install of win XP on a U200 satellite Pro.
WXP updated to sp3 straight away. Then downloaded all drivers baseD en serial number from toshiba website, then installed them in the same order as advised on the installation list but I get the same error installation message as sjoemie1 when I tried to install "hotkey for display device" etc.
ANYONE KNOW HOW TO REINSTALL THOSE TWO FILES?

    Hi
The Common Modules v6.05.00 for Win XP needs to be installed firstly.
Furthermore there are two tools called
*Hotkey Utilities for Display Devices v3.4.4.1-XP*
    and
    *Display Device Change v2.3.0.0*
Both software part allows you to switch the display device from LCD to LCD+CRT or CRT mode by pressing Fn+F5
So if you have any problems installing the first utility, forget this and try the second one.

  • Server Manager fails to load with the error "A device attached to the system is not functioning"

I'm at a dead end on this.  I can't find anything online that involves this error and the Server Manager and I cannot find anything in the event viewer being generated from this error.

I am constantly seeing this error at multiple sites on Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 Standard and DataCenter.
I have counted over 50 different server I manage with services such as   domain controller, hyper-v, file servers, exchange 2013, SQL 2008/2012, and print servers.
I have seen it happen on machine that have been in production for over 2 years and to machines that were just created last week.
It is happening on metal, hyper-v and esx vmware servers.
It is happening when the machine have updates waiting or no updates, or after updates have been applied and awaiting a restart.
It is happening on Dell PowerEdge server, HP Proliant servers and IBM servers.
It is happening on servers with Intel and AMD chip-sets.
It is happening on machines that are a part of a domain or in a workgroup.
It is happening on machines with AV of Bitdefendor, Trend Micro, Vipre, Microsoft Endpoint, and Symantec Endpoint.
Only a restart will fix it.
I have ran process monitor on several of the problem machines and I cannot find anything.
Since I have only started seeing this about 6 month ago it must be a Windows update causing it.

  • Booting a Hard Drive (loaded with Win XP) from startup [SOLVED]

I have a hard drive that I have installed Windows XP on using UNetbootin.
However, when I turn on my computer and see the GRUB BIOS menu where I can select an OS, I don't see Windows XP or anything related to the hard drive.
How do I get the hard drive to be recognized by the BIOS so that I can run XP from the GRUB menu?
I have reformatted the hard drive using fdisk, setting the filesystem type to FAT32 (for Windows XP),
created the filesystem with mkfs, and made sure it mounted on startup with fsck:
    fdisk /dev/sdb
    mkfs -t vfat /dev/sdb1
    fsck -f -y /dev/sdb1
Then, I used UnetBootin setting the iso image to an old XP iso I've had, and setting the drive to /dev/sdb1
What am I forgetting or doing wrong here?
    Last edited by Tycon712 (2011-03-30 03:08:43)

Sorry about the confusion. What I meant was the startup menu (after you power the comp on) where you can select the different OS's. The iso is probably an installation iso, so I guess this puts the whole being able to boot from the hard drive at a halt.
I have edited the /boot/grub/menu.lst file to:
    # (2) Windows
    title Windows
    rootnoverify (hd1,0)
    makeactive
    chainloader +1
Which made it bootable, but since the iso that I thought would work, isn't going to work, its not going to boot from the startup menu.
I've searched quite a bit on how I should go about making my external hard drive able to boot XP from the startup menu, but I must be dumb, because I can't find a simple guide online to do this. Could you guys point me in the right direction or give me pointers on how to make the external hard drive bootable with XP? Sorry if this annoys you; I hate asking people questions when there probably has already been a forum post on the subject.

  • Lenovo N100 , 0689-A4U with Win 7. No driver for PCI Bus 5.

I just acquired a 3000 N100 With Win 7.    Device manager shows a flag on (2 each)  "Base System Device" .  Under the general tab, they are listed as PCI Bus 5, device 6, function 2 and function 3.
I have no audio and the Blue tooth is not functioning. Wireless is OK and the Blue tooth lamp is on and follows the wireless switch.
The Device manager says both the Blue tooth and the audio "high def audio" devices are working properly.  ????
    Card bus is OK.
    Every thing else works OK.
Does any one have an answer.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

For "Base System Device" Install Ricoh card reader driver
    from THIS page.
For sound, try the Realtek Vista driver for your laptop.
For Blutooth, try Vista driver, both from THIS page.
    May need Modem driver also.
Read instructions carefully on how to extract and run Setup file!
Do one at a time, and if the driver does not work,
    un-install it.

  • Device Manager HP Printer ! Symbol, Windows "failed to connect" Sound- Yet Printer Works

Every startup, I hear the Windows "device failed to connect" sound.  How can I get rid of this?
I have an HP J6480 Printer with WIn 7.  Device Manager is not recognizing the printer driver.
Under Device Manager, the printer is listed with the ! error symbol.  No other devices have an error symbol.  Yet the HP Solution Center and printer work.
    1)  I have tried fresh installs of the current HP Full Feature Software.
    2) I have tried the HP Uninstall program, going through all five Uninstall programs two times.
    3) I have run CCleaner to clear registry issues.
    4) I have tried deleting the Device Manager "Officejet ! J6400 series" entry.  The Solution Center and the printer then do not work.  Apparently, Device Manager recognizes the printer but not the driver.  I have to go to "Programs", "HP", then "Officejet J6400 Series" to reinstall the software.
    5) I have tried to get Device Manager to recognize the software.  When I click on "! Officejet 6400 series",  I get the message "the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)".  If I then click on "Update Driver" and select" Browse my computer for driver software" then click on "Browse "C:\Users\Myname\Downloads", where I have both the HP 13.0 Full Feature Sofware Software and the Basic Print and Scan Driver files, it says "Windows cannot find driver software".   If i click on "Search automatically for driver software" I get the same message.
I would very much appreciate any ideas!  Thank you!

  • How to load specific driver for specific device not having PnP-ID?

    Hello,
as mentoined in a previous post I'm up to adapt an exisiting PCMCIA-based PC Card driver so that it can be used with a PCMCIA/USB adaptor (by using it's driver's IOCTLs), and already had
some success on it: My driver loads and I can read files (for example, in Windows Explorer) from the card as it did before in "PCMCIA version" (I intend to support both with the same driver, which seems
to work at the moment). As it did before, the driver currently creates a MTD (memory technology device). My main "problem" is how to load the driver.
The situation is a bit complicated, I try to give as much details as possible.
    For better understanding
The PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver usually has following device stack: PCMCIA/SUB adaptors driver -> USB mass storage device (USBSTOR.SYS) -> Diskdrive (DISK.SYS [->PARTMGR.SYS]). For more ease - to see if my driver works in general - I installed my driver
via INF using the PnP ID of the "USB mass storage device", with other words I "replaced" the USB mass storage driver with my own driver.
    This is my problem
This means - and that is currently my problem - that may driver gets loaded regardless of what is attached to the PCMCIA/USB adaptor. Usually, when attached to PCMCIA, the PC card has a PnP ID the driver can be assigned to. In my case, I have no PnP ID for
the PC card, and the driver may stop because the attached device is not supported The driver will unload properly, but the device remains with error code (in device manager).
    What I want to avoid
I already thought about filter drivers between USBSTOR and the PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver (#1), or above the USB mass storage device (#2). If I'm correct, that means that I have to handle URB/CBW requests for case #1 or at least SCSI requests for case #2 -
but I'm currently not familiar with filter drivers, URB/CBW and/or SCSI. Porting the driver was quiete frustating until yet and I had to get familiar with a couple of technologies that belongs to the driver's functinaliy itselfs -
I hope you understand that I want to avoid getting familiar with more technologies than required.
I think there must be a way to check the device (PC card) at the PCMCIA/USB adaptor
before my driver will be loaded, as well as removing the deivce completely if the PC card was removed (so that it disappears in device manager). But I'm currently have no idea how to do that. Is it possible to
load my driver along the device/driver stack usually created by the PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver?
Some answerers likes to refer to WDK documentation and samples. In such case - because of their complexity, it would be nice to get a hint about where to start.
Have much thanks in before for any suggestions!
    Regards,
    Willi K.

Today's memory cards (like CFC) manage their FTL (flash translation layer) in their firmware. Our PC card is quiete old technology and does not have such firmware, this is why Windows cannot recognize the file system (FAT). For example, a request to offset
0 may be somewhere else on our PC Card.
I followed your suggestion and used the HWID of device that appears "above" the USB mass storage device, and my driver seems to work as it did before - OK, made no difference.
But if my driver does not recognize the card (because it is not present or it is another PCMCIA device -> STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED or STATUS_NO_MEDIA in driver entry), and the device is shown with exclamation mark in device manager.
    Two questions remain:
    - How can I ensure that other drivers may attach if my driver does not support the device inserted in the adapter?
    - How can I force a "re-check" of my driver if there was no card present when driver was loaded?? -> Note: A disk drive always appears in device manager - regardless if a device is attached to the apator or not

  • Device manager error when trying to load applications

I've been using the Desktop Manager successfully for several years with my old 8703e.  I finally upgraded to a Style 9670, and updated the Desktop Manager to v6.0.2.44.  It syncs fine with the phone.  However, when I go to work with apps, the DM tells me "The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed.  Please contact customer support."  I have rebooted, repaired, and done a full uninstall and reinstall of the DM, but the same error keeps coming up.  I have worked on this all night, and am wondering if I need to return teh phone and opt for an Android.  Can anyone help me, please?

    Hmmm...maybe a totally clean start over? Here's a process:
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
Further, it has also been reported that when your user profile on windows (type 'echo %userprofile%' in the command prompt) contains spaces, then the installer will not work. In order to solve this issue, log out of your Windows account and log back in using the local Administrator account (or any other account name without spaces) and install the desktop (for all users).
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM Desktop Software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
Some have reported that there are more registry keys to remove than are discussed in that KB...be sure to search your registry for any related to RIM
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
Still others have reported the use of your original PIM (e.g., Outlook, NOTES, etc.) installation CD, running the "repair" process, to be helpful in some situations
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM Desktop Software:
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install the Desktop Software to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
KB23681How to configure organizer data synchronization settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Officejet h470wbt unknown devices?

Installed the printer from the set up disk. Bluetooth install with no errors. Then paired the device it installed the device but failed on two devices. The printer will print with no problems but there are still two unknown devices in device manager that were not there before I installed the printer. I am using the generic bluetooth stack in windows 7 64 bit. The bluetooth device uses the generic driver with no errors in device manager.  it  pairs well with phones headsets etc.  Here is a screenshot of the error. The printer has a card reader is it possible these devices are related to that?

    The Bluetooth HardwareID:

  • Gaming Headset HS-1200. unknown device

I’ve just gotten my 2. Set of Gaming Headset HS-1200.
The first time I plug it in it work fine.
But after a reboot of my pc it won’t connect
Every time I plug it in, windows comes up with it as unknown device.
I’ve tried installing the driver and reinstalling it from both the Hp and the Cd, and on 2 different pc.
Every time the same result, it can’t recognize the headset.
How do I get it to work ?

    Aland23,
I understand you are disappointed but please watch the language. Look at the HS-200 webpage, none of the gaming consoles are listed on it. This headset is meant for use on a PC. Please take it back to place of purchase for something else.
