X200 Tablet - Single Touch? Or No Single Touch?

I just purchased a refurbished x200 Tablet (7450-8HU), and I'm loving it. Upgraded RAM, installed a 120GB SSD, and upgraded it to Windows 8.1 - it's an amazing little machine. Windows 8.1 makes it run like a beast!
But, I do have a question. I've been doing much research, and I do realize that my screen is not capable of 2-finger touch. Yet, I keep reading that the x200 Tablet supports Pen & 1-finger touch. But, my x200 Tablet refuses to recognize my finger, even though in PC Info it says it supports "Pen and Single Touch", and it even let's me calibrate "Touch" (but it won't recognize my finger).
Were there early models of the x200 Tablet that only support Pen, even though the computer says it supports single Touch also? Or is there something wrong with my machine? I've installed all required drivers, and Device Manager says there is nothing missing.

I unfortunately can confirm that according to the parts list it is definitely pen only, non-touch; LCD panel, 12.1-in. WXGA, LED backlight (300-nit LCD)

X220 Tablet and Windows 8.1 - Limited Touch drops with Intel HD 3000 is installed?

I have installed Windows 8.1 Professional on on a Lenovo X220 Tablet and everything seems to have installed correctly, although my system, which supported limited touch with 2 touch points in Windows 7, only has Pen Support in 8.1.
I have been able to get the system to be recognized as "Pen and Limited Touch Support with 2 Touch Points" but only if I disable/unintall the Intel HD 3000 driver, and use Microsoft Basic Display Adapter instead. The problem is that the resolution isn't as crisp.
Any recommendations as to what I can do to get the limted touch to be recognized with the Intel HD 3000 driver? This one is baffling.
Any help would be appreciated.
The X220 Tablet's type is 4296-2WU
Also, the Intel HD Graphics 3000 driver is the latest version compatible with 8.1 64bit - 9.17.10.3517.
Update: I have also tried the previous Intel driver release, 9.17.10.3347, as well as the recommend Intel driver from the support page 9.17.10.2843 and non of them allow my screen to do Limited Touch Support with 2 Touch Points. Yet, if I disable the Intel driver, and restart, I can.

Thanks for sharing your expeirences and the details of the driver version.
Officially, I don't think Lenovo provided full support for Win 8 on the X220, but as you note it (and the upgrade to 8.1) can work with some limitations. I'll check with one of our software engineers to see if he may have some suggestions on this one.
I expect you will probably draw some responses from the community as the X220 was a very popular system with a good following.

Tablet 2: Probleme beim Wechsel Stift / Touch - Desktop, Office 2013

Ich habe folgendes Problem:
Wenn ich mit Office arbeite (kann auch bei anderen Programmen sein, aber da habe ich es noch nicht so stark beobachtet) tritt immer wieder da Phänoment auf, dass das System auf Toucheingaben nach der Benutzung des Stylus nicht mehr richtig funktioniert. Z.B. kann man nicht mehr mit 2 Fingern zoomen, die Charms aufrufen etc.
Ich arbeite dabei mit Word oder OneNote 2013 wobei ich zwischen Stifteingabe (Schreiben / Zeichnen) und Touch (Scrollen, Tippen, auswählen) wechsel. Recht häugig und recht "schnell". Ab und zu scheint sich da Tablet da "zu verhaspeln" und der Touch funktioniert wie oben beschrieben nicht mehr.
Ein paar klicks mit dem Stift auf den Bildschirm und die Charms lassen sich wieder aufrufen, auch abmelden/anmelden funktioniert meistens, neu starten und es geht wieder alles (aber keine Lösung).
In der OneNote APP habe ich auf die selbe Weise gearbeitet, da kann ich ein solchen Verhalten nicht feststellen. (Dafür ist das schreiben sehr langsam )
Hatte schon jemand das selbe Problem? Treiberprobleme (habe alles aktualisiert, Windows 8, Lenovo Update usw.)? Performance (Vielleicht ist der Atom auch nur zu langsam um immer um zu schalten)?

Habe genau den selben Fehler und das nicht gerade selten. Der Hauptkaufgrund war für mich eigentlich nur der Wacom Digitizer, um in Vorlesungen Notizen zu machen, aber mit dem Fehler geht das kaum. Alle paar Minuten reagiert es auf keine Fingereingaben mehr, wodurch ich wie ein Hampelmann da rumsitze und auf dem Display rumtouche, bis es dann mal wieder geht. Man kann den Fehler übrigends auch ganz leicht rekonstruieren. Erst den Stift anheben bis er aus der Reichweite des Displays ist, kurz die Hand auf dem Display liegen lassen und dann auch diese anheben. Macht das paar mal, dann kommt der Fehler ganz sicher irgendwann. Habe dazu nur Onenote 2013 getestet, wie es in anderen Programmen aussieht weiß ich leider nicht.
Nun ist natürlich die Frage was dies hervorruft. Welcher Teil des Geräts ist für Palm Rejection zuständig? Treiber, Hardware oder das Betriebssystem? Eventuell ist es ja auch nur ein Fehler von Onenote. Im Internet findet man dazu leider nicht gerade viel

X200 Tablet - Wacom Pen Blue Screen of Death on Windows 7

Hello...hopefully someone can help & point me in the right direction...I have a Lenovo x200 tablet PC (Stylus Only Version) - and recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
The OS install went perfectly...Once installed, I did all the Systems Updates for Windows 7, including all the updates for Lenovo using System Update 4.01.....However, I have an issue that I cannot seem to figure out...
PROBLEM # 1
The biggest issue I now face is, whenever I put the Digitized Pen next to the Tablet Screen within 2 seconds I get the 'Blue Screen of Death'....and it automatically Reboots....This ONLY happens when I touch the Pen to the screen....
I uninstalled the 'Wacom Drivers' - within the Device Manager, which i assume were installed by the system update(s)....After, uninstalling the issue of the 'Blue Screen' from happening when the pen touches the screen is gone.....However, I have no way of being able to use the Pen...it does not show any cursor or inking....Is there a specific DRIVER that I should be installing on my own to make this work properly - without getting the 'Blue Screen of Death' each time?....I really need some guidance on this issue.
PROBLEM # 2
My Second issue, which is suddenly occured after day 2 of installing updates is the Lenovo System Update 4.01 -- Suddenly, after working on day 1 - now, whenever i try to 'Check New Updates' i get a popup that says "An error was detected with the Package catalog for your system on the System Update Server. Please contact the Support Center".
I called techical support on the phone - and they made it seem like this was not their problem and they could not help me...The odd thing is, that this was working before, and now all of sudden it doesnt work...
If someone can please advise me on what to do, especially with the Pen Driver problem, I would greatly appreciate it....Thanks!

**FIXED IT** TWICE!
I've been messing with this on multiple machines at my school.
I was getting the BSOD, "no tablet installed" all that good stuff.
I installed this, that and the other thing.
After testing another machine, I read something in the BSOD that caught my attention.
It mentions resetting the cache of the BIOS. I wasn't sure what that meant, or how to do it.
But I was able to get into the BIOS (F1 on the Lenovo splash screen) and I just tapped F9 (load default Bios options -paraphrasing) Then I hit ESC- it prompts to save the settings, agree and let the computer continue to boot.
I was able to test the Pen at the login screen. Just repeated this process on another X200 computer and it worked again.

No broadband signal after bios upgrade on an X200 tablet

Hi,
I upgraded the BIOS on my X200 tablet to the most rescent one (2.06).
Since then the builtin broadband has not been working.
The Access Connections shows the HSDPA antenna as "Unknown". Tried to replace the SIM but it did not help.
Any idea?

Ok I solved the problem. I feel like an idiot. One stick was dual sided with a total of 16 chips and the other was single sided with only 8 chips. This is what was causing the conflict. I must give credit to my freind with Georgia Pacific IS department for the solve.

Help with x200 tablet

Hello, I was recently given a x200 tablet and was told that the screen supported both touch and stylus input. So far however I have only managed to get a response from the stylus.
I'm running windows 7, Is there something that I'm missing or does this device only support the stylus?

Hi! I would first check if you indeed have a model that supports multitouch. Please go here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/partsLookup.page
You'll then need to enter your machine type, which is a 4 digit code on the bottom of the laptop. Then enter the serial number (located right from the model type, it says something like S/N xxxxxx) and you will get a list of the components installed on your X200T. Try to identify the screen and post the resuts here.

Detecting 2 touches, is order of touch significant?

i have to scale images with 2 finger.if the finger don't touch contemporaly touchesBegin doesn't detect the initial distance between 2 points.if the second touch arrives after the first, touches moved starts.
the strange thing happening is:when i touch the screen with one finger on the left of the screen, and detect the position of the touch, and then i add the second finger on the right of the screen, starts touchesMoved [mmmmm] and, the result is:x1=48.500000 y1=455.500000 x2=29.500000 y2=240.500000
if i touch with the first finger on the right, the the left (touching the same points)x1=73.000000 y1=29.000000 x2=451.500000 y2=264.000000

Do you mean a "double touch" (like a double click) which requires two touches within a certain time interval? If so, what should happen for a single touch? Generally the first touch of a double touch sequence should always do the same thing as a single touch.

If I set Firefox to refrain from loading images automatically, how can I view a single image, or a single page's images, without having to enter the site in the Exceptions list, only to go back and remove it when I'm done?

I was hoping for a hotkey option or button on the toolbar to load images for a single page for a single session at a time. Turning off images really saves bandwidth and speeds load time on websites, but sometimes I'd like to view the images on a page, but only for this session. Is that possible, or do I have to go to the Exceptions page and allow a specific domain or page to load images and then go back and remove that domain or page when I'm done?

Movies are not one of the items you can reload via iClould like apps, music, and some other items. You can contact iTunes and request a redownload,. They may give you one.

I just asked whether it is possible or not. It is not much important. As you said, OPS will perform well if instances are on different machines. I agree on this. But I think we need to replicate the database on other machine also to run fast.Am I right?..If not, please correct me...

I just re-read your post. When you say multiple instances on a single database, it sounds to me like you are asking about Oracle Parallel Server in 8i. I don't know why you would (or even if you could) have multiple instances on the same box. I don't think that would make sense since on of the benefits of OPS is to have more processing power by using multiple machines.

High performance SSD for my X200 Tablet

Hi,
I have the X200 Tablet 7450 ERG. Preinstalled in the computer is a Samsung SSD 64GB disk - but I have found no information about the form factor of the disk, and I am uncertain about what disk to get as replacement due to that (so it fits perfectly inside the machine). Just after installing the nessecarily programs and functions I use, and having a minimum of storage place for the most recent files I work on - I am left with 5-7GB of storage...
What disk can I get to increase the storage AND performance of my machine. If battery time is a little shorter, I don't care, and price don't scare me too much either.
Technical performance (as high as possible speed under all conditions without lag) and 128GB+ storage is a requirement.

I was in your exact situation. I liked having an SSD, but found the small size to be rather painful. I now have an OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD installed in my X200 Tablet. I also have Intel SSDs in my desktops. I know there is a 250GB OCZ, and a 160GB Intel. Both are very, very fast, and both can be installed in the X200T. An advantage that the latest OCZ Vertex and Intel drives have is that they have TRIM support, which helps mitigate the performance degradation issue you see in SSDs, at least under Windows 7.
Both were easy to install, although the OCZ needed a firmware update. The X200T did not play nice with the firmware update software, and I had to drop it into my desktop to do that.
The only problem with replacing the Samsung SSD, at least the one I received, is that it's a 1.8" disk, with the appropriate mounting bracket. Why Lenovo chose that form factor is beyond me, because the drive bay can fit a 2.5". I was not able to find a suitable drive bracket for a 2.5" disk on Lenovo's site, but I found one relatively easily on EBay, and I assume if you call Lenovo you can order the correct part over the phone. While I was waiting for the it to arrive, I made do with a folded piece of paper wedged in under the drive to hold it in place. Sad, i know, but I couldn't wait, and it worked.
If you don't want to deal with the drive bracket, Intel also makes 1.8" versions of their SSDs, which as far as I know perform just like their 2.5" equivalents. They are a bit hard to find, though.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
