X200 Ultranav/Trackpoint drivers/utility

Which drivers and utilities can I install for the X200's trackpoint on Windows 7?
I see UltraNav2 driver and Utilities but it doesn't list X200 as one of the systems.
Or is it safe to install the Vista ones?

Does the system also seem to behave as if the right mouse button was stuck? Does it only happen after resuming from standby and/or hibernation?

  • SL300 - Ultranav Driver, EasyEject utility, Presentation Director

    Hi,
I have problems getting the touchpad to work and quite few other features after installing win7.
Right now the UltraNav driver wont install, tried both versions:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70340
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#unav
I installed the UltraNav Utility, got no errors on this install:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67226
Anyone else having troubles getting the driver to work on a SL300?
I also cant find a compatible driver for EasyEject and Presentation Director - any tip on where i can find one or when it might be released, would be awesome
And, I am still worried about the registry patches:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#unav
Will these work on win 7? Should i install them when they are noted as compatible with vista?
    Thx

  • Satellite X200-252 - Toshiba hardware utility - cant launch under Win7

I have installed HW utility, I can see its icon in Toshiba Assist but it doesnt launch. I see in task manager process "control.exe" appears for a sec. I tried launch it as admin, tried with vista compatibility but no luck. Anybody has it working under Win 7?

You have installed Vista version of Toshiba HW Settings?
I don't know if this will help but try to remove preinstalled version from the system and try to install Win7 version for other notebook model like Satellite P300. Maybe it will work.
Problem is that Win7 drivers, tools and utilities are not available for your notebook model.

  • UltraNav Trackpoint

I was wondering where I can report a problem with the UltraNav driver using the TrackPoint for scrolling.
If I have an app that starts hanging (usually due to a long process) and I start the TrackPoint Scrolling on the application window.  The mouse cursor switches to the "scroll" and then locks up.
This does not happen with the standard mouse driver with the scroll wheel.
To be honest this has been a problem since I have used ThinkPads back in the T40 and up to the T430 that I am using now.

    hey manthei2,
do a crosscheck with the current touchpad and ultranav driver version that you have with our support site. if yours is a lower version kindly download the latest and install it.
curious to know, when did this issue start ?

  • Windows 7 Driver Issues

    Hi,
I've tried installing the APS drivers for Windows 7 on my X61s, but I don't see the APS icon in my System tray after the driver has been installed and I've restarted my computer. I've listed all the icons in my system tray, and the APS icon is not available for display. In addition, i don't see any start menu links to the APS utility. I've checked in the control panel, and the APS driver is listed as installed. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver, and have not had any success.
I don't think it is turned on, and I have no way of configuring the settings, such as avoiding repetitive shocks. Has anyone else faced this problem before?
Another driver that I think isn't working properly for me is the on screen display. My volume indicator shows up on screen when I use the volume and mute buttons, but the same does not happen why I adjust the brightness settings using Fn + Home/End.
I was using Windows Vista Business before and did not have problems with either driver, and I'm currently using Windows 7 Professional.
In Windows 7, I've installed the following drivers:
    System Interface Driver
    Power Management Driver
    Active Protection System
    Hotkey Driver
    Ultranav Trackpoint drivers
Any help or information would be much appreciated

    Hi,
APS is working on your maching. Somehow Lenovo sets strange default values which prevent you from seeing the software.
Go to the control panel, click "Lenovo's Airbag Protection" and check the box saying "Show active protection icon ...".
(TBH I reinstalled APS three times before figuring this out ; )  )
    Greetz!

  • Trackpoint freezes on T60P

A week or so ago the Trackpoint on my T60P (2007-AE7), running XP SP 3, started freezing a minute or two after booting the machine or waking it up.  Occasionally after a pause of a few minutes it will start working again on its own for a few seconds.
I can’t relate the freezing to anything I changed on the machine.  And the machine doesn’t run hot – I had a problem with the fan, which stopped working a couple of weeks ago; I removed, cleaned and oiled the fan, and it now works fine again.
An external mouse I connected works fine at all times, as does the keyboard.
What may provide a clue is that I normally only activate the Trackpoint alone without the Trackpad.  I notice that when both are active and the Trackpoint stops working, the Trackpad continues to work properly as do all the mouse buttons.
Sometimes when the Trackpoint has stopped working and I activate the Trackpad, the Trackpoint will start working again for a little while.
So I think there may be some kind of driver problem.
So far I have done the following to no avail, each time rebooting the machine after doing so: run ccleaner; installed and updated all four “mouse and keyboard” drivers (Synaptics UltraNav driver; TrackPoint Accessibility driver; UltraNav Utility for Windows; and UltraNav Wizard for Windows 2000/XP) for the T60P directly from the Lenovo site; rolled the Synaptics UltraNav driver back from 16.2.19.1.3 to 15.3.16.1.; uninstalled the Synaptics UltraNav driver; reinstalled the 16.2.19.1.3 Synaptics UltraNav driver; and checked that I have the latest BIOS installed.
I have also removed the palm rest and keyboard, unplugged all the connectors and plugged them back in.
FWIW, I have downloaded the drivers directly from the Lenovo site because, when using the ThinkVantage Toolbox Updater to update software and drivers, I get an error message saying ThinkVantage Toolbox Updater has encountered a problem and has to close.   Running ThinkVantage System Update also generates an error message, in both instances preventing me from going further.   I installed the ThinkVantage utilities after reinstalling XP on this machine, which I believe can explain why the update function doesn’t work.
So I’m stuck.  Any thoughts anyone on how to get my Trackpoint unstuck?  Many thanks!

    Gentlemen,
Thank you both for your suggestions.
Instead of swapping kbds and HDs yet, I decided to uninstall all four Trackpoint drivers and utilities one at a time, thinking I would reinstall them later one by one.  However, it sometimes takes the better part of a day for the Trackpoint to freeze up as I try to determine if one of the drivers could be the cause.  Hence the delay in answering.
Meantime, after uninstalling all of them and expecting it wouldn't work any longer, to my surprise I noticed that the Trackpoint still works (although I can't scroll by pressing the pointer and central button), and has not frozen up for the last day or so.  The Trackpad also works.
If the Trackpoint continues to work without freezing, I would assume the problem is not related to the keyboard or the possibility of a system board going south.  I will then reinstall the drivers one at a time, see what happens and report back.
I assume I should start with the Synaptics UltraNav driver and not with the UltraNav Utility.  Does that make sense?
    Thanks again.

  • No TrackPoint Scroll and Brightness Control After Resume

    Hello All,
I'm having an issue with my new x120e where after a couple suspend/resume cycles both the Trackpoint scroll function and the ability to adjust screen brightness no longer work. Using the Trackpoint only yields results as a pointing device, and trying to use the brightness controls does nothing--no on-screen brightness level display. I've searched the forums but couldn't find these exact issues, and I'm using the latest versions of the UltraNav driver and Utility.
    Thanks!

    hey cbolos,
check via http://support.lenovo.com and see that your Power Management software is at its latest version. If not, download and install.
if it is the latest, uninstall all UltraNav drivers+Utilities and the Power Management.
let window install its generic drivers. Test and see if it happens again

  • IBM USB Keyboard with Ultranav - part works part doesn't

i have an IBM usb keyboard 02R0400 with built in touchpad and ultranav.
i am running a brand new 2month old Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with Windows Vista x64 and the last time I tried to conquer this problem I messed up my mouse drivers so bad I had to do a fresh reinstall of the OS.  The machine is running so much better as a result of rebuilding from scratch so no worries but suffice it to say I don't want to go through that again.
    CONTEXT:
    - using thinkpad on a port replicator.  have the US keyboard on the desk with my USB external mouse and second screen.  nothing too tricky about the setup.  windows vista x64.  no other msft or logitech mouse software is installed - just msft vista doing it's auto install thing.
    SYMPTOM:
    - when i plug in USB keyboard it is recognized and the keys and the touchpad work but the ultrnav trackpoint does not which is really irritating as I like to use it and don't like the touchpad at all.
    - given i am not currently able to find a vista driver on the Lenovo site I am a little confused.  I don't really want to install driver software for XP/2000 given my unpleasant mouse driver corruption experience earlier and would like to run this install as lean as possible.
    - the OS is clearly trying to install the ultranav but failing as it shows just an "unknown device" under mice and pointing devices in the device manager.
    - also, when i go to the mouse control panel in the OS it's showing two ultranav tabs, one for the laptop and one for the keyboard but the keyboard one is not functioning and is greyed out as in it's inactive and I can't configure it
    KEY QUESTIONS:
    - How do i untangle this driver mess? And get the right driver installed so that I can get the trackpoint working on the USB keyboard without messing up my laptop ultranav trackpoint?  Key here is that I don't want to mess up the drivers so that when I detach my laptop from the port replicator the keyboard and mouse pointer on the laptop don't work which is what happened last time?  Should I just run the XP/2000 installation software for the keyboard or will that possibly screw up my vista OS - don't want that?!
    BEST GUESS:
    - What's so odd about this is that I have used external USB IBM/Lenovo keyboard like this for years and this is the first time I have ever seen an OS get confused and create two ultranav tabs on the mouse control panel so I am thinking this is a vista x64 issue?
Thanks for any thoughts on how to further diagnose and pinpoint the problem here or for suggestions on the proper workaround as this sure is annoying and seems like it should not be happening -- it's just a simple USB keyboard for god's sake! ;-)
    /Josh

    Saw this post today.
Same problem here. What worked for me is the latest ultranav driver.
I installed the latest ultranav driver from lenovo.com after trying a lot of stuff just as a last resort.
    Voila! everything works now.
Hope this helps if you have not already found the solution

  • The touchpad and trackpoint don't work on X220

All greetings! I from Russia, therefore am sorry for my bad English. On my X220 (4290RV4) the touchpad and trackpoint have ceased to work, but the keyboard and fpr works normally. I tried different versions of BIOS and drivers, reinstalled windows, but it is ineffectual

    hey Solo,
try removing the ultranav/mouse drivers from your unit via Device Manager.
go to http://support.lenovo.com ; download the latest ultranav/mouse drivers for your unit and install.
    try again.

  • Is it Possible to have different sensitivities for trackpoint and bluetooth mouse.

I have an x200. I recently purchased an interlink electronics bluetooth mouse and connection and setup worked great.
The only problem is that the sensitivity that is good for my tackpoint is WAY too sensitive for the mouse.
Is there a way to set up different sensitivities for the bluetooth mouse and the trackpoint so that i don't have to toggle the sensitivity every time I plug in my mouse?

Thanks, but I understand the varying inherent sensitivities. I was just wondering if i could adjust a setting or install drivers or something that will automatically change the sensitivity setting when my mouse is connected to the computer. I'm looking for that or something that will specify sensitivity settings for my mouse without affecting the trackpoint.
I have an x200 running Vista Ultimate with the lenovo trackpoint drivers.

  • Win8 trackpoint third button middle click action

Hello. Using a W530 with Windows 8 and ThinkPad UltraNav driver version 16.2.5.0. Tried uninstalling --> reboot -> reinstall -> reboot. Middle button only does scrolling. In UltraNav (TrackPoint) settings, only option is to adjust stick sensitivity and to enable Press-To-Click. Please advise on how to enable middle button click.

Hi, how to use touch pad (thinkPad T61) to scroll pages up/down, left/right? do I need any drivers?

Hi daneeo, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
In the Control Panel for your Mouse there should be an UltraNav tab. Under that tab are all the settings for the touchpad. Check to make sure scrolling is enabled.
If you do not see an UltraNav tab in the Mouse Control Panel, download and install the UltraNav driver and utility:

  • What happened to Lenovo ThinkPlus USB Keyboard with UltraNav ?!?

    Hi all,
I want a keyboard that works EXACTLY like my T410 native keyboard. I found the ThinkPlus USB Keyboard with UltraNav that looks wireless, but it's been discontinued as of Sept 2009...anyone know what's up with that? I also saw this Lenovo Fingerprint Keyboard but it's not wireless and has no trackpoint or UltraNav, this one looks nice but it's not wireless and has no numpad or UltraNav, this one lacks the ThinkPad feel and look and reviews say the build quality is bad...so why do they have all these very mediocre keyboards...anyone know if they're in the process of releasing a GREAT keyboard with these features)?
My T410 is out of reach when its docked, so I need my keyboard to be wireless with UltraNav + trackpoint AND NUMPAD for data input, programmable keys, and of course a fingerprint scanner! I also need it to be able to affect my T410 EXACTLY as if I was using the built in keyboard... like using Fn + F_ to toggle display, power, radio settings, etc. I want it to have the same keys in the same locations and it needs extra media (volume, play, pause) keys and programmable keys to open programs/folders. I would like it to be rechargeable too. It would be great if it came with a good wireless mouse as well. I understand wireless fingerprint readers are not any more secure, and are probably even less secure so this I could do without...but they should still put it on the dock that recharges the keyboard and mouse!
Pretty much, why hasn't Lenovo come out with the perfect wireless keyboard for us ThinkPad fans? I know there are other companies out there, but I'd like to add type on a keyboard with traditional ThinkPad quality that IBM lovers have gotten used to!
    Thanks,
    O

I used to own a ThinkPlus USB Keyboard with UltraNav. It wasn't wireless, just standard USB. Unfortunately, it died after 5+ years of abuse.
That keyboard has been replaced by ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (55Y9003). If you search for that FRU number you'll find it available for sale.
The new model is closer to a current gen laptop keyboard (more so than the original ThinkPlus keyboard). But it is missing the numeric keyboard and the TrackPad part of the UltraNav.
There's a good story as to why the keyboard is wired and why the other components were removed:
    http://lenovoblogs.com/designmatters/?p=2364
    http://lenovoblogs.com/designmatters/?p=438
Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think Lenovo is going to produce exactly what you are looking for. Like you, I miss the numeric keypad.
But at least it's cheaper than before. You could buy a separate USB/wireless numeric keypad to with the savings.

  • Availability of USB UltraNav Keyboard?

    Hi,
I've checked Lenovo's site several times for the past couple of weeks the Thinkpad USB UltraNav keyboard with trackpoint and the extra USB connects at the keyboard.  I currently have one of these (SK-8845, PN 41A5161).   However all I can find on the Lenovo site lately is the USB TrackPoint Keyboard with no UltraNav and no integrated USB ports.  What Gives?
Is this keyboard not avaialble on backorder or just no longer made?   I really need it to replace a worn out USB UltraNav/Trackpoint Keyboard on a docking station.
    Thanks,
    GC Mobley

I found my answer...withdrawn from marketing fall of 2009, replaced by cheaper non-ultranav keyboard with NO integrated UltraNAV and NO integrated USB ports.
So there is no NO WAY to hook up a docking station to a Lenovo Thinkpad and have an external USB keyboard which has UltraNav and Trackpoint - birlliant, just brilliant.
