X200 Webcam

I was wondering if all X200's came with a webcam on the top of the screen.  Since I ordered one a while ago and still hasn't shipped, I don't quite remember there being an option for a webcam or not.  I don't want to miss out a feature that is so easy to get.  By the way its a Canadian order so the option for the screen doesnt say "12.1 WXGA (1280x800), 2x2 UltraConnect II antenna , WWAN, Camera" it just says "12.1 WXGA TFT".

As far as I know in the US, the option of the webcam was standard when I placed the order as I had no choice otherwise not to choose it. In Canada the camera is listed seperately under the Networking and communication and cannot be unchecked.
I do believe that Lenovo is only making one kind of screen and bezel for the X200 and leaving the webcam out would require some plastic in its place as I dount they would leave a hole there above the monitor. So my hunch is you will be getting a camera with your X-200 and I wouldn't worry about it...

  • X200 webcam detection problem

    I have a Thinkpad x200.
My webcam was working perfectly. Then the last few days, the light started to come on randomly, even when I wasn't using the webcam.
Today, the webcam didn't work. It is not detected by Device Manager. I tried installing the drivers, but it still does not work. I tried turning off firewalls and uninstalling all the driver and re-installing, but it still doesn't work. I am hoping it isn't a hardware problem, but it might be.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

Having same issue as OP.  Any help out there??  Thanks.

  • X200 webcam how to adjust

it looks like the the webcam lens and icons are covered with removable film. is this correct? if so, how do i remove it?
how do i control/adjust webcam settings? i cannot manually activate the webcam...the only time it turns on is automatically when using video chat on msn or skype.
    thanks for your help...

there is no application per se to use the webcam. you have to use a messenger program like windows messenger or something like that.

  • X200s tried to add webcam - now neither webcam, nor thinklight will work

    Hi all,
So, as the username hopefully indicates - a newbie to the x200s, which I bought recently, though I've been using thinkpad products for a few years now (a devoted fan!)
My x200s did not come with a webcam and, since I am thousands of miles from home, I reckoned I would try and install one manually. Note that I have swaped its HDD for an SD & changed keyboard in the past with no problem, so I was assuming (foolishly, perhaps!) that vaguely knew what I was doing.
I followed the instructions and user experiences on this thread, I purchased this camera - and got off to work.
Even though everything seemed fine when adding the camera to the system, a strange thing happened after I rebooted (I run Linux Mint 16): neither the webcam, nor the thinklight were now working. After lots of testing, I assumed I must have just destroyed part of the cable during installation, and so I purchased this cable (Lenovo ThinkPad X200 LCD Video Cable 44C9909) and tried again. Same result! The only difference is that the first time round, an "lsusb" command on linux would return a Ricoh product (and I assume that's the webcam), but it would still not be recognised by Mint, while now, there's nothing. In both cases, the Thinklight didn't work.
Since both the thinklight and the webcam come out at the same end (see the right end of the cable on this picture) I am assuming, of course, that the two are related.
Would anyone know which of the clips on the left end of the cable on the same picture, above, correspond to the webcam and the thinklight?
Thanks for reading, and any response and thoughts on the above would be most appreciated - a little bit at loss at to what to do now.

    Hi,
perhaps HMM and Service Video might help.
Be sure integrated camera is enabled in the BIOS Setup menu.

  • My X200 did not come with a webcam

I ordered an X200 quite some time ago, maybe in September.  I thought the webcam was standard issue on all X200s, but upon receiving my X200 from Cost Central, to my dismay the webcam was not included.  I didn't mind much and started using it until recently when I started browsing these forums and thought maybe I was missing out.  I own the 7454-2GU model, not customized through Lenovo but it's a pre-assembled one.  Was I supposed to get the webcam with this?
    thanks

Hi ProphetMuhammad, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
There are a couple of resources which will give you the detailed configuration of a standard ThinkPad configuration. The Personal Systems Reference tabook has the most detailed information. You can also punch in the product number on Lenovo's Support & Dowloads site.

  • Intergrated webcam for X200 not working

    Hi,
sorry if i'm posting a question that may have already been answer but i couldn't find anything specific to my problem.  I have having an issue with the intergrated web cam on my x200.  It was accidentially deleted from my computer and now i can't get the driver to install.  I've tried to download the driver from the Lenovo site but it doesn't seem to be working.  I don't know if i'm doing something wrong.  If someone has any idea as to how i can get it to work again please let me know.  Any help is much appreicated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
I do have the same problem. Lenovo x200 with Win7 pro (64 bit) . My internal webcam is not listed in the device manager and is not listed in the I/O ports (Bios). When I try to install the actual driver from the homepage. The installation works, shown as complete but there is still no webcam.
Does anybody has an idea what I could do? My system is fully updated...
Thanks for your support and sorry for my english!

  • Please help x200s wxga+ adding webcam

i got x200s from my brother for replacing my old x60s.but i need webcam recently for my bussiness meeting.can anybody help me to upgrade this laptop adding a webcam.what should i buy or do?i heard that the wxga+ version is lil bit imposible to put webcam without modification.any suggestion are welcome

Thank you for your advice, but I guess I haven't clear my point.
Because the time difference, when she's at work, she can't talk on the phone. When she's off work, I am asleep(time she off work is 6:30 pm which in my time is 3:30 am). The only time we can talk is on weekends, but she doesn't like to use webcam because people keep ask her to open her webcam while she is chatting with me.
My other point is that video calling feature is part of 3G network. If iPhone 3G is on AT&T's 3G network, Apple should thought about that. My guess is that Apple will make the next version of iPhone to make money out of you and I. Why don't Apple just make one version of iPhone that has all the feafures that 3G or 4G network cam do??

  • Finding webcam software in X200 ThinkPad

    Hi

After an extensive search I found one Notepad file: dshowext.inf
:stub inf file to preserve lagacy driver compatibility. The DDK
    sample inf file for
; USB webcams (Intel YC76) use to refer to this file (dshowext .inf
THere are a few more lines I can include if it helps.  If I need to download something new I would also like to know that.
    Thanks!

I am not sure, but did you already tried to find a separate driver for that webcam? Must not be a original toshiba driver, since I think they use their software as a "kind" of driver or as a hardware access application.
If you can find out which hardware this webcam is (mostly say its a chicony) then you will have luck and can make the cam available for your whole system.

  • Which is the best WLAN card for my lenovo x200 notebook?

    Hello!
I hope somebody could help for me. I bought a new Lenovo X200 notebook but it hasn't got WLAN card. So I have to buy a mini PCI-E WLAN card. In my notebook there is a webcam so I find only 2 wlan cable (1 black and 1 grey). The question is: witch is the best WLAN card for me?
    Intel 5100
    Intel 5300
    or
ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter
    Please help me.
I can use intel 5300 (it has 3 connection port) if I have only 2 cable?

On the Lenovo X200 support page you will find the X200 Hardware Maintenance Manual which lists all the parts in the X200.
You will find there that the 43Y6493 is Lenovo's Intel 5100.

  • Windows 7 Webcam driver?

Hey, I have an X200 tablet that I just installed Windows 7 on. I've installed patches/drivers for almost everything, but I can't get the webcam to work.  Any help?

    Thanks Wendel.
I downloaded the 65dt11ww driver from here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-68014  which is the Vista 32 bit driver for the webcam
I double clicked it and it installed itself into C:/drivers/Vista32/camera.
I then went to Start, Accessories, Run and clicked on Browse and went to the above camera file where I clicked on Setup (the application file not the other ones).  Run setup and bingo! one working camera.
Thanks for the advice from the forum members - much appreciated.
A big thumbs down to Lenovo for not supporting a 2 year old laptop.

    Hi community,

The only annoying thing is that I am not able to tell/save in skype that the in

Here all the time I have to select 'Lenovo EasyCamera' manually when I start skype.
I could not find a possibility to save this selection.
    Any hints are highly welcome.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • S10 Internal WebCam-How To See Webcam On Desktop?

I never had internal webcam. I have seen other computers where the webcam is on and it is shown on desktop. Is there aprogram for Lenovo S10 that does this? Also allows to take pictures when on desktop? Appreciated, thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi, there is no software ,nothing on c: or elsewhere its simply basic windows usb-device without program...
no software is factory delivered by lenovo....
..... thats the microsoft way to go....to the cam.....
Open the Scanners and Cameras wizard by clicking the
Start button , clicking Control Panel,
     clicking Hardware and Sound,
and then clicking Scanners and Cameras
there is ...USB-Videodevice = webcam ... and you can do nothing, only taken pictures... no configuration nothing...
thats why i recommend to download Lenovo Easy Capture....
     with Lenovo Easy Capture
    http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_931.html
Lenovo Easy Capture installed and working on S10(e)....
you can config picture size, video clip,  ...with funny frames... and many more...
    so what is better....
