X200 won't go into sleep

I have an x200.  It shipped with Vista Business, and I reformatted hard drive in the process of upgrading to Vista Ultimate.  I have downloaded all up-to-date drivers from the Lenovo website, and all is fine except for the sleep option.  "Sleep" is shadowed out and unavailable to me when I am turning off the computer.  Thanks in advance for your help...I have not seen this issue for anyone else in the first 6 pages of this forum.

I'm still working on this problem--the files I thought you were referring I have already installed or reinstalled, with no change in the "sleep" problem.  I know this is asking a lot, but would you please name the files (as in xxxxxx.exe) I should download, to make certain I am not missing something?  Your help is greatly appreciated...
If someone else has ideas, they would be welcome also.  After this issue is resolved, I will tackle the fingerprint recognition error--but one thing at a time.
Thanks again.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

  • My iPhone won't go into sleep mode after bluetooth pairing

I've recently acquired a Parrot MiniKit Neo (a bluetooth remote dialer) and after I paired it with my iPhone 4S / iOS 6, this one does not enter in sleep mode anymore (the brightness of the screen down after 50 seconds and after 10 seconds more, it wakes up automatically instead to go into sleep mode).
Reset my iPhone (holding power + home button) solved this problem until I've paired again my iPhone with MiniKit.
I didn't tried another bluetooth devices like headset.

I've checked through my apps, I can't seem to find anything that would cause this. For some apps that have internet access I've turned them off.
I tried going into Activity Monitor and quitting all the running processes, including those for Finder and stuff, most of these system processes starts up again. But even when I have quit everything that I can quit, the computer won't sleep.
I've tried disconnecting the internet, unplugging all my extras and shutting off Time Machine, but still insomnia. I've tried logging into the guest account but still insomnia.
I went to Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences>System Configuration and deleted the com.apple.PowerManagement and the com.apple.AutoWake.plist, rebooting and testing. But still insomnia. I've also deleted the User>Library>Preferences>com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file, and still no succes.
I've removed all the widgets, removed all startup items, and still no success.
It's not really a big issue, but the fact that I can't find the cause is driving me crazy!

  • HP Pavillion won't go into sleep mode

I have an HP Pavlillion that's about 3 years old. Recently when the comeputer goes into sleep mode (or when I put it in sleep mode), but the computer keeps going in and out sleep mode. It's like the computer goes into sleep mode then about 10 min. later it sounds like the computer is waking up by itself (however the monitor doesn't wake up). The monitor and computer will wake up if I move the mouse or whatever. But now I'm just shutting down the computer completely each night. Any ideas why this may be happening and is there a way to fix it?

    Hello Banna1981,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that you think your computer is going in and out of sleep mode yet the monitor stays in sleep mode and both the monitor and computer wake when you use the mouse or the keyboard. I suspect that what you are thinking is the computer waking up is actually scheduled activity or background processes running. If the monitor is staying in sleep mode I do not think that your computer is waking up or if it is it's to process specific activities like checking for updates or checking email etc . . .
If you are concerned I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this I can provide you with accurate information on booting in Safe Mode and finding out for sure what is causing this activity.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the requested information and I would be happy to provide you with assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Pavilion dv6 won't go into Sleep Mode

My HP Pavilion dv6 always used to go into sleep mode everytime I closed the lid as it's supposed too. However recently when I close the lid it just loops the login screen as if you've locked your laptop. It makes the sound it used to make when I'd open the lid to wake it up. As far as I am aware there have been no software changes recently that could have caused this. Thanks.

  • Macbook won't go into sleep

So i was wondering if anyone had a suggestion or a solution as to why my 6 month old macbook can no longer go into sleep when i close the lid.

Have you already tried [*Why your Mac might not sleep or stay in sleep mode*|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303698]?

  • IPad 2 won't go into sleep mode while charging

In the past couple of days my iPad 2 will not go into sleep mode while it is charging. The screen will go dim, but never go black. Any suggestions? I know I can just push the button on the top to force it into sleep mode and it will, but I've never had to do that before. I've had this iPad for over a year.

this is a software glitch, i suggest holding the home button and power button together untill you see the apple then let go, do not slide to power off, if all else fails you might have to restore the device to factory settings, still doesnt do that then its a hardware issue, and its probably going to be 250$ or more to replace

  • Leopard won't go into sleep mode!

This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last week or so. I have already tried the recommendations via Apple's info docs...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/9040.html
Nothing worked. I never had this issue with Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4). I have also analyzed my processes from both top (via Terminal) and Activity Monitor and I do not see anything that would inhibit the Mac from going to sleep. I have even scheduled a sleep to happen within a minute after setting and it does not work.

Also happening to me. I thought it started happening about the time I installed my printer. I had been noticing a lot of respawn too fast in the log and figured that was why it wouldn't go to sleep. After updating the printer driver and software to Leopard compatible versions, those log entries went away, but the mac still won't go to sleep on its own (it does spin down the internal drive when it should sleep, however--I can hear that).
It used to sleep just fine. I can force it to sleep using the power button or the apple menu--it just won't drift off on its own.
I hope this is something they broke in a recent patch and that a patch to fix this will come out soon. Surely Mr. Gore on their Board is pushing for them to fix this energy issue.

  • IMac won't go into sleep mode when Kensington Dome Hub

Has anyone had problems with their computer sleeping when the Kensington USB Dome Hub is connected. This just started happening a few days ago. I isolated the problem and it is definitely the Kensington HUB -- there is nothing connected to the hub that should wake the mac up -- all I have plugged into it is a lacie dvd burner and an epson scanner-- Thanks for any advice.
    Deanna

I would call Kensington and see if this is a known problem. I assume that you have checked and have downloaded the latest software for the hub, although I doubt that it has any.
