X200s sometimes hangs/freezes when goes back from sleep

There is a confirmed bug in ubuntu jaunty/karmic running on lenovo x200 series notebooks. Shortly, it sometimes hangs/freezes when goes back from sleep mode.

My 2010 MacMini freezes and show a black courtain sometimes. This happens when gets back from suspend mode. The RAM has passed a test memory and it hasn´t any problem.

My mac keeps freezing when turned on from Sleep

Hello,
I bought in iMac last Summer. About a couple weeks in, I started having issues with my iMac freezing when I would turn it on from Sleep mode. This would not happen every time but instead, intermittently. It also will manifest itself in different ways: programs will freeze one at a time until all programs are frozen I just have spinning wheel, sometimes it will freeze and shut itself down, sometimes it will go to a grey screen, etc. This has made it an extremely hard issue to reproduce at the drop of a hat. The main reason this alarms is that I have a 4-year old Macbook that still works incredibly well, despite being slowerThroughout the past months, I have done just about everything I can think of (and was told to do by Apple support) to resolve this issue.
I have:
Reset the SMC and PRAM
Tried booting in Safe Mode
Deleted the EnergySaverPreference .plist file
Spent hours on the phone/text with various Apple technicians troubleshooting the issues.
Twice done a clean wipe and re-installed OSX. I had this problem with both Yosemite and Mavericks. I have made sure to never restore my Time Machine back ups but instead, bring isolated files in one by one and no "System Files" – just songs, music, documents, and applications.
Twice taken it in to the Apple Store to be repaired and nothing has been done to resolve the problem. I just got it back and within two days, it froze again in the same manner as before.
My technical specs are: iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013,) 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR Ram, running OSX Yosemite 10.10.2.
I feel like I am really beginning to run out of options. I feel like I can not trust this machine to do daily tasks or the large projects for which I bought it. I do not have AppleCare but obviously this feels like a pre-existing software or hardware issue and I'm still under warranty. Apple has implied that there would be no way for me to receive any money back and the likelihood of getting a device replacement is very low. I don't have a car so taking my iMac via taxi or lugging it around via public transportation is both very inconvenient and a bit pricey for me. Any advice, technical, for customer-relations, or otherwise?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Safari freezes when going "back" via mouse wipe

Hi,
have a problem with my mac mini and OS X 10.9.
When I want to go back to a last visited page by wiping on the mouse to the left, the safari tag freezes. Any ideas?

Photoshop freezes when waking up from sleep?

Hi,
I have an ongoing problem where PS works fine, but once I walk away from the computer and it goes to sleep it freezes. Usually the mouse will wake it back up, then I can see whatever I was working on (eg. some images in Bridge, or an image in PS, but once I click on anything I get the spinning beach ball..... forever! I can go back to the finder and open other files that are on the desktop etc, so it only PS that is affected. I have also had no problems allowing the computer to sleep and resuming work in other programs, they always start up again without problems.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Did you use Disk Utility to Verify the HD & Repair Permissions before & after the updates?
As far as downgrading, about 2 ways...

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

Sometimes, when I wake up my mac form sleep it totally freezes (except the mouse movement). I cannot click anywhere, shutdown or restart my mac, and command + option + esc (Force quit) doesn't work! So i have to reboot my mac on the power button, and I loose everything that was not saved!
Somebody knows why is this problem happening? And how can I solve it?
(I've made all softwares updates, in case someone thinks this is the problem...)

I'm having the same problem. In another post someone said the computer might be overheating and suggested installing smcFanConrol. I tried this but it didn't help. I tried everything above but no luck. The only way I can keep my computer from locking up is to turn off computer sleep when computer is inactive, turn off display sleep when computer is inactive, and uncheck the "Put hard disk(s) to sleep when possible. Then it will run all day with no problem but with no screensaver. Also, when sleep was on and I was able to unwake the computer, if I went to the dock (which was hidden) it would freeze.

Computer Freezes When Coming Out From Sleeping

I'm using a new dual core 20" iMac System. Lately when ever I try to wake-up my system after its been a sleep for about 5 hours or more it freezes and I can not do anything. I must restart the system. I spoke with the people from tech support and they say that because all of my software that I use is not "Universal" this is what is causing my problem. I don't believe them. Is any body else having similar problems. Please advise.

Open Disk Utility found in Utilities. Use the help menu to learn how to repair disk permissions.
If repairing disk permissions doesn't resolve, check that your firmware is up to date using the info provided for your particular model and using the Hardware Overview info of the utility System Profiler.

Sometimes when I open my laptop back from sleep, I get a black screen with the cursor showing.

Recently I've been getting this weird problem where my macbook air will show a black screen with only the cursor visible that I can move around but nothing else can be done to get to the desktop. The only way is to close the lid and wait for around 10 or more seconds and then open the lid again to bring the laptop back from sleep and hope that the laptop goes to the lock screen and then to the desktop. This works often but sometimes the only solution seems to be to restart the laptop. This also happens when I tilt the lid to the point where it is almost closed and when I tilt it back the screen presents the above state. Theis has been happening often now and it is almost impossible for the above not to happen atleast 2 to 3 times a day. iThis is a relatively new problem that has been occuring since the past two weeks or so and never happened to me on my Macbook Pro 15 2011. My current system is a Macbook Air 11" 2013 Haswell 1.3 Ghz 4GB RAM 256 GB SSD. Now I dont want to have to send in my laptop if I dont have to if there is a way I can solve this myself. Anybody else have this problem?

I would be concerned too if my MacBook Air was not waking from sleep appropriately. For an issue like this, I recommend resetting your System Management Controller (SMC) and NVRAM.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Premiere hangs randomly when loading media from Canon 5D Mark III

Premiere 5.5.0 hangs when loading media. When I drag like 20 files from explorer to Premiere, it loads some files, but at a random point it stops loading and freezes. I loaded every file manually by using ctrl-I within Premiere and saving regularly. After loading a random number of files (anywhere between 1 and 7) it freezes. I managed to get all the files into the project. Now when I try to open the project, it freezes randomly while loading the media. I copied the project and when I open the new one, it opens normal and asks where the media is. When I locate it... same problem, anywhere during loading it might freeze. When I cancel it, I can manually link every media file back, with the random risk of freezing.
I reinstalled Quicktime without any improvement.
I reinstalled Premiere without improvement.
In old projects sometimes random media-files are not linked. Sometimes I can link them succefully. Sometimes it freezes when I try to link them.
As far as I can tell this only happens to .mov files and not other types of media-files.
Sometimes when I have been working on a project succesfully, Premiere still freezes when I close it.
UPDATE
I found out that this only concerned movies from my Canon 5d Mark III. I searched if other people had the same problem and found this thread: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/923736
The solution is to rename the extensions from .mov into .mpg.
This solves the issue...

Yup: I heard about it just today, in fact. An FCP user was trying to get Cinema Tools to conform 24fps footage from a Mk II and Mk III to 25. No problems with the Mk II footage, but no luck with the Mk III footage.

Issues with Quark Xpress Hang/Freeze when focus is shifted to anything else

I've been working on this issue since the 28th of Dec.
I've been in contact with Quark. They're still examining crash log.
I thought I'd share what is on my plate in hopes others might have had, and solved similar experience.
This message will be verbose in hope of giving the uber-guru answers to questions in advance of their being asked.
First portion will contain a log of actions taken and results there of.
Second will be the typical Quark Crash log I've been getting when the application is quit.
I will mention as well that I've received a clean bill of health from TechToolPro, DiskWarrior, etceteras, as well as Passed the tests from Apple Hardware Tests.

Yes. See if the HDD will boot the MBP via a USB connection. You should probably have an external HDD for backups or a possible replacement of your boot drive.

It seems that my firefox hangs/freeze when I'm playing youtube vids, unable to surf at all. When i check task manager it seems to be a plugin container.exe problem? Can someone help me pls..

My firefox sometimes totally hangs/freezes when i try to replay a youtube video. I click the play button but the whole firefox juz hangs. When i try to end task it, i noticed a firefox "plugin container.exe" process.. So i figure it might be a plugin problem? I hope someone can help me with this..
Its getting very irritating and i love using firefox for web surfing.

App crashing when going back to previous view

I've got my app. which has several views. in my 3rd view, i have a list of questions with yes/no answers the answers to which I'm saving to a plist. it was working all good. but then i added a first view with a table which has 4 options, clicking on either of these rows go to the same view but each of them change the value of the variable in my singleton class, which then decides which questions are added to the 3rd view. so this helps me to jus have one view but the variable controls the different questions. Now my problem is that if i change something in my 3rd view, for eg, i choose yes/no , then when i am going back to the main viw , my app crashes. I am not sure why this happens.How does it work anyway-the inherent back button on the navigation bar? im guessing it calls the viewdidload function for the first/second view when going back to them from the first view, i dont undrstand why it crashes, coz the viewdidloads of these views seem okay to me.
