X201 Wireless Card not detectable (Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN) (Windows 7 64 bit)

Hey!
I have a slight problem here.
We have 5 machines that got shipped with Windows 7 32 bit versions for two weeks ago, I tested all of them to make sure nothing was defect or such things but everything was fine (The wireless network card was clearly visible in device manager).
For two days ago, we recived recovery discs to upgrade these machines to 64 bit versions.
After installing it on 2 computers that was previously 32 bit versions, I am not able to detect the wireless network card anymore.
I have used System Update to try and find it but to no avail.
The card itself is not even detected by Device Manager (No unkown device or anything either, it have simply dissapeared).
I do know the card is present there so I downloaded two different drivers (1 from Lenovo homepage and another one from a driver update tool) (13.1.1.1 and 13.2.0.30).
I made a manual search and installed the drivers and the card itself by using "Add Legacy hardware" in device manager and picked the card.
It is now detectable in Device Manager but with following error code:
"The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).
I have tested both versions but same error code persists, System Update won't help either since it says that there are no new updates for this machine (same thing with Windows Update).
The card was functioning properly in 32 bit version but decided to crap out when upgrading to 64 bit, have there been frequent problems regarding wireless networking with 64 bit?

We have the same problem with 6 new X201 machines preloaded with Win 7 32bit
After reloading the X201 with the Win 7 64bit recovery media the wireless network card disappears.
You learn to disassemble the laptop quickly to get to the CMOS battery because thats the olution I found
Disconnect the CMOS battery to reset BIOS settings completely and the network card appears in windows again.
Even when we tried the same recovery media on a T500 to test it, the same happened. The CMOS battery solution got the WLAN card working again.
I have reported this to Lenovo but havent heard from them yet.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Wireless Card not Detected by Windows 8.1

Hi, Just got a refurbished Yoga 2 Pro. The first time I started the system up, the wireless showed up and I connected to my local WLAN. However, few minutes later the wireless dropped out. The issue was that Windows stopped detecting the card. Not showing in the device manager. Strange enough the bluetoth was working fine. The card is an Intel 7260NGW. I thought it was the card, so I replaced it with a new Intel AC7260NGW. The same result. I've removed & reinstalled all drivers including the ones from the Intel website. I've formatted and installed a fresh version of windows 8.1 and reinstalled all drivers again. Not to avail. Now running with an USB wireless adapter.  Any clue what's going on? Thanks in advance guys Daniel

OMG, I was just about to buy a new wireless card because I have the same problem.
Some weeks ago my wireless adapter disappeared, the card disappeared altogether even from Device manager, after I installed a new bluetooth driver and after I was connecting to my phone 3G via USB cable.
But then it came back after I left the laptop shut down and unplugged for a whole night. It worked for a few hours and after closing the lid and opening it again wireless adapter was gone again, never to come back.
I tried changing drivers, holding the power button for 20 sec to hard reset the laptop, fresh install of Windows, load BIOS defaults, and even installing Windows 10 in VHD (dual boot) and see if it will reappear there.Always the same - the wireless adapter doesn't exist any more.
However, buetooth has been working without problems, which I find strange.
I read online about similar situations, and all answers point that the wireless card stopped working and needs to be replaced.
But @Papelinas - you say you even bought and installed a new wireless card and STILL have the same problem???I can't believe that something in motherboard got damaged and that only wifi doesn't work...
I've had my Y2P for 6 months, and I don't really have time to send the laptop for repair for some time, I'm using it...
I guess I'll still try to buy a new card, and just hope the wireless adapter will reappear...

  • [SOLVED] Wireless card not detected after upgrade

After running a pacman update today, my wireless card is no longer being detected.  'ip link' and 'iw dev' show no sign of it.  My ethernet port is detected just fine.
I downgraded linux and systemd with no luck, thinking that they were the most likely culprits.  Also, I dealt with the new /etc/passwd.pacnew and /etc/group.pacnew files created by the filesystem upgrade and ran the syslinux-install_update script to go along with the new version of syslinux.  Besides a new mirrorlist, these were the only special cases pacman warned about when upgrading.
Here are the packages that were upgraded.  I apologize for the long list but I'm finding myself out of options after several hours of struggling with this.  Maybe somebody will see something I'm missing.

I'll ask the standard issue questions.  Did you perform a partial upgrade?  If so, perform a pacman -Syu and try again.
Also, is the running kernel the same kernel that is installed?   Compare the versions provided by uname -a and pacman -Qi linux and ensure they are exactly they are exactly the same revision.

  • Webcam not detected in Compact Presario C769CA Notebook - Windows Vista 32-bit

The webcam is not detected in my notebook, it is  NOT  shown in the Device Manager or in the Imaging devices:  I have done a scan for driver updates and the result said that all drivers are up to date, but the webcam is still not detected.
Where can I get the driver for this webcam?
Any help is appreciated to get this webcam working.
    Thanks

    Hi:
Do you have the cyberlink youcam software installed?
If yes, then I don't know why the webcam isn't working.

  • HPE-475a wireless card not detecting networks

For the last few months, every now and again, my computer would start up but be unable to detect any wireless networks. It seemed that simply shutting it back down for an hour or so would magically resolve it. Some research at the time suggested that it was unable to detect a driver for some reason.
However, today, several hours of the computer being off has not resolved the issue, and the device manager suggests that the card is working fine, without any driver troubles. Perhaps I am looking at the wrong thing.
I have been able to connect using an old wireless dongle, but I don't want that to be the permanent solution.
What can I do to better diagnose and resolve the issue? I've searched a bit but couldn't find anything which seemed specific to this situation.
    Product name: HPE-475a
    Product number: BU082AA#ABG
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
    Error messages: None.
    Recent changes: None.
Troubleshooting performed: Attempted to "Diagnose" through Network Connections. It suggested to check the router. The router is fine, multiple other devices are able to connect. Diagnostics then says it cannot resolve the connectivity issue.
    Thanks in advance!
    - Phil.

    Hi,
If WIFI was working fine using the current router then the mixed mode setting is not the problem.
If Device Manager shows no errors and you cannot connect using wireless then the WIFI adapter card is, most likely, the problem.
Good to hear you have an extended warranty.

  • Lenovo G505s Wireless Card not detected no driver

I have a new lenovo g505s that came with windows 8. I removed all windows 8 partitions and installed windows 7. The install went great but I have no drivers. Installing the recomended LAN driver worked just fine and the ethernet is working great, but installing the lenovo recomended WLAN driver failed. (wlan118w7.exe)
There is no networks showing up when I try to connect to a one.
I have no wlan device in device manager, and an unknown 'Network Controller' showing up with yellow exclaimation point.
The qualcomn driver that is distributed by Lenovo fails to install sometimes, stopping on a 'No Appropriate driver to be installed' error, and exiting.
When it does complete the UI installs fine, but shows no mac addresses or packet activity.
Here are the Hardware Ids for the 'Network Controller':
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_302617AA&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_302617AA
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280
I have tried installing various drivers for this model and a few other similar model wlan cards. I have also tried the windows 8/8.1 drivers for my card.
the default windows 7 drivers definately did not work and windows update didnt help anything.

    hi kr094,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
    You can try this
Download this file and extract it to a folder.
Now Open Device Manager rightclick on that network controller and choose update driver.
when a Window pop up choose Browse my computer for driver software
    You should have this window
Click on the Browse  box and direct it to where you extract the File i asked you to download,
continue with that and it should work,
    Let me know your findings
    Cheers!

  • ACER ASPIRE Z5801 Wi-Fi card not detected

Hello, After 2 failed attempts at installing Windows 10 on the Acer Aspire Z5801, I finally managed to get it installed on the 3rd attempt. However, this wasn't without problems after installation.. I found that Windows 10 was not detecting any wireless adapter, preventing me from accessing the Internet wirelessly. I tried to get the driver off the acer website (selected W7 as the driver is only listed on that OS) but that didn't work - it said it successfully installed but still wouldn't recognise the card, even after a reboot. The ethernet adapter was there (listed in Device Manager), just not the wireless card. To test whether it was a Windows 10 issue with how it handles wireless connections, I attempted to install a USB wireless adapter I had (which is usually in use by another PC) and that worked successfully after installing the driver for the adapter. This is not a solution though because the other PC needs that adapter to connect to the Internet. In the end, I just reverted back to Windows 7 and the card was detected once again. This is disappointing because another computer of mine that is much older + has weaker hardware, successfully managed to install Windows 10 without hiccups and even after installation, it runs flawlessly. So why can't Acer enable more support for other systems? The Z5801 should be perfectly capable enough of running the latest OS but due to lack of support, users of this PC must stick to Windows 7.. It's not just the driver either.. this PC suffers from other issues during upgrade and after installation. I don't know, it's disappointing. I've wasted so much time trying to install it and every time, a new problem arises.

  • Apple Wireless Card Not Working

I just removed an Apple Wireless card from a PowerBook Tit. laptop and plugged it into my QuickSilver 733, re-installed the OS, and I can not get the coputer to recognize the wireless card.
Now, this is the older wireless card not the extreme, and I have used one of these cards in the past for one of these computers and worked fine, but can not get it to pickup this time.
I know the card is good, was in use up until it was removed from the PB yesterday.
Tried to add the wireless device in the Network panel, but could not see the card.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks,
    Carter

I have a Quicksilver 2002 (Dual 1-GHZ) and my internal airport card just started acting flakey. It drops the connection and then re-acquires the network, sometimes a couple of times a minute. Sometimes the only way to get the wireless signal is to turn AirPort off and on agian on the computer. Then it will work fine for days. I bought this PowerMac new just before MacWorld in 2002 (yeah, right before the MDD model was introduced - brilliant timing on my part, as usual) and haven't had a lick of trouble with it ever. I also have a new MacBook with built-in AirPort Extreme and I have no trouble with my wireless signal on that computer, so it has to be the PowerMac. Are there any known issues I'm missing?

  • PCMCIA Realtek Ethernet card not detected

Hi, I'm trying to use a PCMCIA Etherner Card with Realtek chip.
If the card it's already plugged when booting, Udev takes 180000 ms to finish and the card doesn't work. If it's plugged while booted, dmesg shows that there's a "something" at SmartCardBus but, again, card doesn't get recognized.
"Ifconfig -a" shows nothing, and I know the card works 'cause I've tryed with an Ubuntu cd and the cards works perfect. I've looked for the modules, and 8139too & 8139cp where loaded, wich I've tryed in arch and still doesn't work, It also detects the same hardware with lspci (Arch detects the Cardbus but not the realtek card, Ubuntu detects both) and lspcmcia.
Ubuntu is using kernel 2.6.27-7 and Arch 2.6.28.

    Nevermind...It's Kernel 2.6.28...I'm a lucky guy, eh? :-(
Booted into Arch Overlod cd and a simple lspci show my shiny new card...Now  i'm going to erase my hole system (it was new anyway) and check if a Suy breaks the drivers again. In that case, i should file a bug somewhere, right?

  • Sprint Wireless Card Not Working in iMac

A friend of mine recently got a Sierra Wireless 598U USB card (Sprint service) for her iMac G5 but she is unable to get the iMac to recognize the card.
First I should say that I am a Windows person and I know almost nothing about Mac OS but I'm trying to help her.
She has Mac OS v10.4.11 which according to what I've seen online should support this wireless card. Here's what I can tell you:
    1. We know for sure that the Sierra card is OK because it works in other PCs (all Windows machines).
    2. When connected to her iMac the Sierra card is receiving power. The LEDs on it light up.
    3. When the Sierra card was first connected to her iMac the software installation process started automatically and seemed to complete normally (not that I know what normal is on a Mac).
    4. When we click the Sierra "Smart View" icon the program starts and displays a message saying "No wireless device detected." And that is where we are stuck. Any suggestions appreciated.
Again, I know very little about Mac OS so please explain anything that a Windows person might not know. Thanks!
    Peter

My friend did contact Sprint support and they were unable to fix the problem.
I really do think the problem is in the iMac not the Sierra card. I may be wrong but that's what my gut says given that the card works perfectly in other PCs.
If this were a Windows PC I would know where to look to find and fix the problem but I know almost nothing about Mac OS. Can you give me any suggestions on where to look in the OS to try to narrow down the cause of the problem?

  • Wireless suddenly not detecting networks

    Hello,
My iMac G5 has suddenly stopped detecting wireless networks (or does so very sporadically). I have an intel iMac beside it which continues to detect all of the usual networks without a problem, so I'm not sure what this is indicative of. The network of interest is hidden so I tried connecting manually, but this only yields an error when I try it.
It started this morning when I woke the computer from sleep and it didn't regain its connection automatically as it normally does. I tried several things without success and finally restarted the computer whereupon the wireless signed on as usual (I only used it for a few minutes before leaving though). After coming home later in the day, the same thing happened, only this time a restart did nothing to solve the problem. I ran some maintenance tasks and relaunched the finder. In the airport menu, I saw a few networks for an instant and then they disappeared. Attempts at signing on to my hidden network give me an error again. For whatever reason it let me sign on all of a sudden and I got a few minutes use before the connection disappeared entirely again. My girlfriend was happily using the network on my other iMac this entire time so I know it wasn't the network.
The airport card is detected by the computer, so does this mean there's something wrong with my antenna?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It could be the antenna but that rarely fails.
If your iMac G5 has the removableAirPort Extreme card, you could check the antenna wire connection to the card using the photos in KB 108039, Properly attaching the antenna on an AirPort Extreme Card.
If that is OK, I would suspect that the RF section of the AirPort card in your iMac G5 is failiing.

Is there a way to view and select my files on my CF card in Lightroom before importing? This would save a lot of download time. I can view and select in Breezebrowser, writing down the file names and then selecting which ones to import in Lightroom.
