  • External Touch Screen for use with x220 running Tablet PC for XP

I've been tasked to purchase an external touch monitor for use the the x220 running Tablet PC for XP but the monitor specs typically show "Windows Vista/Win7" supported. Will any touch monitor correctly work with this OS? Any recommendations?

    Hello,
I would imagine you would need to find a touch-enabled screen that has device drivers for Microsoft Windows XP available for it.

The new win8 not support iTunes

Microsoft made many changes between the original preview and the current preview, so what worked in the earlier version may not work in the current one, and vice versa. Again, Apple's software is not yet supported in Windows 8 and almost certainly will not be until Win 8 is officially released, if then. You may be able to get the standalone installer to work, but if you can't, you'll just have to wait for a supported release, or take the issue up on a forum for the Windows 8 Preview and see if someone there can help you.
    Regards.

  • X220 bought in the US, support in Europe?

    Hi all
I've bought my X220 in the US (haven't got it on my hands yet). Anyway, I live in Europe and I am getting concerned with the ghosting reports in the IPS screen. If I need to get it serviced under the guaranty do I need to send it to the US or can I use European facilities?
    best,

    Hi rreis,
As long as it's covered under IWS you should be able to get support in Europe too.
    Hope this helps.

  • X220 BIOS/Firmware - does it support "Secure Boot" under Windows 8?

I am getting ready to install W8x64 Pro.  I have a X220 with the latest BIOS (1.36 if I recall correctly) using Windows 7x64 currently.  I have run the Upgrade Assistant and it says: "Secure Boot isn't compatible with your PC."  "Your firmware doesn't support Secure Boot so you won't be able to use it in Windows 8."
Assuming when I install W8x64 bit I have "Boot to UEFI First" and "UEFI BIOS Only" set in the BIOS - and the SSD formatted as a GPT SSD - should Secure Boot work?
The 1.36 BIOS is not listed as Windows 8 compatible.  I see there is a BIOS for the X230 that is W8 compatible but I am not going to install it.
At any rate - for any of you X220 users - you can click on "System Information" in W8 or type in "msinfo32" in the run script and it will say whether "Secure Boot" is Unsupported or On.
Here is a Lenovo link for installing W7 using UEFI but it does not mention whether you would be able to be in "Secure Mode" at the end.

Latest firmware is supposed to support Windows 8. But I don't know what support is supposed to mean... I'd say that if you've installed under UEFI and still doesn't enable, it doesn't.
Thou now that I think of... After I installed using UEFI, I had to go back to the BIOS and change some setting. Reset-some-key or something. I can't restart the computer now but whenever I restart it I'll let you know which setting it was. (it can be several days)
    Good luck.
If I helped you, please give me some kudos! ^^

  • Is my Asus tablet no longer support for using Flash Player?

I just bought an Asus Transformer TF300T (OS Andriod 4.0.3) two weeks ago.  It came with Flash Player 11.1 pre-installed.  I noticed whenever I would try and play some of my games that require Flash, my browser would close.  I wouldn't get any kind of error message or anything.  I just saw the artricle today regarding Adobe Flash Player and mobile devices and the lack of support after 8/15/2012.  I checked the list of certified devices and my model number isn't listed.  I don't know if I would have better luck installing a previous version of Flash Player, or if I'm just out of luck.  Any ideas what I can do?

Because Android hasn't supported the plug-in for nearly two years now.

Can't loin to see my grades say does not support

That is up to the developers of your college's grade system. They may only be able to support a limited number of browsers.
You can try using the request desktop site menu item before visiting the page. This may allow you to gain access to the grades site.

  • Anyone running Windows 8 RTM on X220 (non tablet)?

I have some questions before I blast away Win7:
    - Can you get multi touch working with the touchpad? What works - pinch, charms menu etc?
    - Are the video drivers OK, or just use Win7 ones?
    - Any other issues?
    Thanks

Im having an issue with high CPU usage on my X220 every so often (System).  Sits around 30-40%.  Won't go away until a reboot.
A search says drivers, and I've updated everything tonight...will see how I get on.
For me it turned out to be the Ricoh Media card driver that was causing high System CPU - uninstalled it and CPU usage is back to normal. Waiting for an update to the driver. (WiFi still sucks sometimes though- doesn't connect on resume.)

  • My tablet does not support google market. Where can I download foxfire?

I do not think it is right to only have access to important apps like this from only one source. I understand the problems, but does there have to be a monopoly? I am sure many people have the same questions. I have an Arnova 10 G2. Foxfire will work on it, but I can't get it.

Use the ftp link in the download section of https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#Download_Firefox_for_Android

    Hello ,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums
All Android Marketplace font changing apps require Rooting.
Rooting your tablet is not only unsupported, it is not recommended.
IF you are looking to change the language of your tablet you can do that without any programming.
Please review this tutorial on How to change the tablet language.

Uyghur is not avail at this time, however, Turkish is available.

  • Tablets that support Abode Flash

We design and develop e Learning content in Flash, one of our customer want to buy some tablets that can support access to the flash content. Does anyone have a list?

    Welcome to the forum.
You can review a list here by manufacturer:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
Or for reviews, etc., Google "tablets that support flash"
    http://www.google.com/#q=tablets+that+support+flash
Since Flash is not what it once was, make sure to do diligent research regarding if Adobe will continue to support the devices or are planning to drop support, performance per device, etc.

  • SimpleTap on x220

I recall when my X220 arrived I installed SimpleTap, and it worked as shown on the bottom left hand video on this Lenovo site.
    http://www.lenovo.com/products/us/simple-tap/
This shows that the SimpleTap works, using one's fingers, on an ordinary X220   (NOT tablet).
This function now does not work on my machine. I expect that the problem is between the seat and keyboard and may have something to do with installing an MSATA drive and reinstalling Windows 7.
However I would like to have confirmation that there are ways to make SimpleTap work on an ordinary X220 not using the mouse but using the fingers.
Of course with Windows 7  SimpleTap has little value but I hope that something similar will work for Windows 8 and so am keen to check that such a use of the fingers on an ordinary Windows 7 X220 is possible.
    thanks

thanks for clearing the point about the video on the SimpleTap page.
I have looked again and found
    http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/X220/index.html
and the features video on this site at 02.50 or so mentions SimpleTap touch technology on selected systems.
I have been told that some of the 'highend' lenovo systems did have/do have the function not of a full touch screen but of a very basic touch the screen and the mouse moves to that point.
Please let me know if at any time at all the non tablet lenovo laptops had a simple simple, not a full touch screen with gestures and the like but just a capacity, a function, to just poke a finger at the screen and make something happen.
    I notice that the
