Here is my story below,
I left my X220 ( which is just 4 months old) at PERCOM (A Lenovo Partner) in Munich, because of the same reason ( plastic cover loose) and 1 other issue. They took the machine and sent it to the manufacturer and had it tested there and concluded that it was my fault, although I am pretty much sure I have not caused this issue. Besides, PERCOM charges me 100€ to get my laptop back and their reason is that they had to spend time on the device because the defects were mechanical damages by user ( that they claim, but its absolutely not true. )
So i need your consultation from now on, what could you suggest me to do? They want me to pay them 100€, although I do not have it repaired ( and although I am sure it is a manufactural issue ). I have contacted some magazines already that this is not legitimate and have been waiting for their response.
I still do not understand how Lenovo can deny the same issue that has been resolved for someone else. Please help.

Sorry to read about your situation, why don't you follow dodger_NL's example, which you have read, and escalate the case by creating a complaint? PERCOM should be able to do this for you or if you wish to you can do it yourself by calling service and quoting the current Call Nr. or your system's type and serial number.
Out of interest, do you expect the magazines to repair your notebook before you've gone through the "appeals" complaints process or what? I suggest you open a complaint, it will help you more than the magazines.

If it was caused by a defect thenyes. If caused by accidental damage like dropping then likely not. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and find out.
If it is only a cosment defect, the warranty does not cover it.

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

If you're on windows try the following:
This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
7. Good luck

If you didn’t erase the drive and install using you AppleID, then the OS and the purchased apps are still registered to the other AppleID. You cannot change that by logging into iCloud. Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to purchase/download them.
You have to erase the drive and download/install the Apps using your AppleID.

Can you check your configuration again? Maybe something went pear-shaped somewhere. It's located in Tools | Options | Privacy and then click the Settings button (see screenshot).

TV shows will only appear in the cloud if you are in a country where they can be re-downloaded from the store (you can't add them yourself), in which case they will appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app for re-downloading. But they will only appear there if you are in a country where they can be re-downloaded, and then only as long as the TV company leaves them in the store (content providers occasionally remove their items).

This morning, I did a power down and reboot of the I-Pad, that got the "Please Wait" resolved. I then tried clicking on the additional picture set and it did download and install, so the problem is now resolved.

That is an interesting question. If you are at the "age of majority", then why would you allow someone else to put restrictions on your device.. If it is a condition of your employer to use the device on their network services, then you allow it to use the device for their system. If you are under the age of majority, and your parents are requiring it, sounds like the parents care.

The new machine has Mavericks which is fine. And I will leave it as is. I don’t want anything from my old machine other than 2 apps that I will need on the new one. I want to be able to install those apps that I bought from the App Store onto my new computer.
