  • X230 Win 8.1 Pro Fingerprint single swipe power on and login black screen

When i try to log on using the single swipe power on and login feature sometimes the screen will go to the login screen, the finger print scanner will flash, and then i get a black screen. I can see the mouse cursor, but nothing else. If I swipe my finger again, I will see the login screen again briefly, before it returns to a blank screen again. There is no way to get past this, aside from forcing the machine to power down (Hold down power key for 10 seconds).
Does anyone have a solution for this. Powering on the device and logging in with a single swipe is a really great feature, but I need it to not brick logging in.
Thanks for any help or advice.

I apologize I didn't already provide these answers initially.
Questions:1.  Does this happen 100% of the time, or is it intermittent?
I have only noticed this intermittently.
    2.  Does it happen starting from full shutdown (press and hold SHIFT key while you shutdown the computer normally, then swipe to power on and log in).
I have only had this problem when resuming from a state of hibernation.
    3.  Does it happen starting from sleep (swipe to resume the system from sleep and log in)
I rarely sleep the system, but I recall it hanging once or twice when coming back from sleep as well.
    4.  Can you check "View all problem reports" screen in Action Center to see if any crash happens at the same time the problem occurs?
the only problem reports that corresponds with the times this has happened today refer to an problem with the Anti malware Service Executable with the summary being MpTelemetry.
    5.  Can you export registry at these locations:
        a.  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Provider Filters]
        b.  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Providers]
I have this, but unfortunately do not see how I can attach it this post.
Edit: Here is a link to download it directly. Once you respond I'll disable this.
    Link removed
It should also be noted that I do not have a problem when single swipe is disabled. (So I need to swipe twice. One to power on, and the other to log in.)

  • Envy 23 all in one Win 8.1 bluetooth doesn't receive photo from phone

Trying to upload a jpg file from my phone to my windows 8.1 Envy 23 All in One via bluetooth.  The PC and phone pair up ok and phone shows it is sending.  When the phone starts sending, the PC's bluetooth device status changes from not connected to connected.  After about a minute, the phone says the transfer failed and the PC status goes back to not connected.   The phones error message says request could not be handled correctly.  Also, the bluetooth icon window doesn't ever include selections to receive file or send file.  HP Support connected remotely, reinstalled the bluetooth driver, deleted the device, paired up again, but no change with the transfer.  HP concluded it is a hardware problem and says to send the PC in for repair. (Still under warranty.)  Doesn't sound like hardware to me, and I don't want to be without my PC and possibly have to reinstall all programs and data when it returned. Thinking of getting a cable to connect directly to the PC.  Any ideas what might be wrong?

    Hi,
Open up Bluetooth settings ---> Share and make sure that box to Allow remote devices to browse, send and receive pictures, music and other files is checked. The click on Open Bluetooth Exchange Folder -->right mouse click for properties, Share and the review your exchange settings.
Check the Permissions on the above image so that your know for sure what you are allowing for transfer types etc..
It is possible that the WIFI adapter is failing during a transfer process if the software is properly setup.
Be patient and Bluetooth transfers can be slow.
You should get a notification on the PC that the file was successfully received.  Additionally, your phone should be indicating an up transfer.

  • X230 Win 8.1 Power Management Device Driver Issue

    Hi,
Fresh Win 8 build, in place upgrade to 8.1. Then all Lenovo tools updated and latest Lenovo compatability package installed.
This device is not detected properly. I believe it is a Power Manager driver issue (based on an older post with the same problem, but no resolution posted).

    Type: 2330-A59
    Device instance path: ACPI\LEN0078\5&2890D699&0
Location: on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
I've tried the typical deletion of the device and re-run the PM driver install package (latest from Lenovo.com). No change. The device is listed back in Device Manager as an "Unknown" device.
Anyone out there know the solution? I hope it is something I am just over looking.

  • Yoga 13 Win 8.1 Bluetooth not working

I can't get my Yoga to recognise any BT devices. I have driver version 1.3.639.3 dated 1/9/2012. I downloaded an update otwb33ww.exe version 3.757.754.082313 but when I install it, I get eventually get a dialog saying "Confirm that  Bluetooth is enabled on your system. Plug in your device and click 'OK'. I switch on my BT headphones, click OK and get a message saying "Reeltek Bluetooth is not installed on your system". Then have to restart and end up back with the old driivers.
    What am I doing wrong?

I am having a problem with the bluetooth on my yoga 13, since updating to Windows 8.1.  It does not seem to recognize any buetooth devices.  i have installed the latest drivers from the Lenovo site for the Realtek device.  I confirmed that the other bluetooth devices work with another laptop.
I've turned the power management feature off for the bluetooth, wi-fi and all usb devices, as these were recommended in another post.
I would love to get my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 working with this laptop again.
    Any suggestions?

  • E93z Win 8.1 Bluetooth problems

Hoping someone can help provide some direction on an issue I am having with bluetooth devices for my system.
Just purchased my e93z AIO system, and immediately upgraded Windows to 8.1.
I have performed all necessary driver updates, but seem to be encountering bluetooth connectivity issues.
My system has a hard time even finding bluetooth devices, and if it even can establish a connection (most of the time it cannot), the connection is very weak. For example, if connecting my Thinkpad bluetooth laser mouse, the movement of the mouse cursor is very spotty. If I connect my bluetooth speaker, the sound skips in/out, and the connection fails shortly afterwards. (I know these two devices work well otherwise).
With all drivers updated, I am at a loss of where to go from here.

    Davepr wrote:
    JWBlue,
Would you mind expanding on this slightly? When you say unistall the device, would I be going into my device drivers, and unistall each item under the bluetooth area?
Before doing any of this, I would create a System Restore restore point.  If something happens, then the system can be brought back to where it was before.
    To uninstall:
    > Control Panel
    > Device Manager
    > "+" next to the device
    > Right click on the device
    > Properties
    > Driver
    > Uninstall
    > Box next to "Delete ......"
    > OK
Repeat for all devices including Bluetooth istelf.
2> Before rebooting, the devices might still be listed under Devices and Printers and should be removed.  I am not sure if uninstalling will do it, but it might not.  I would double check.
    > Control Panel
    > Devices and Printers
    > If listed, on device mouse right click
    > Remove device
    For installing Bluetooth:
The E93z has Broadcom Bluetooth.  I would try the driver directly from that site.  Sometimes the one from Lenovo might not be the latest or has additional software.
    Reboot the computer.
Run install for latest drivers for all devices.

  • USB Mouse wakes X230 from sleep

    Good morning!
I've been having the problem of my new X230 waking from sleep for seemingly no reason. Thanks to responses here, I have narrowed it down to the USB mouse, I think. I would appreciate it if someone could give me info on the steps to take to stop this behavior.
I have set the mouse properties NOT to wake the computer and also changed it in the power management, but the behavior still happens. Do I need a complete restert to have these settings take effect? Is there anything else to try - a driver or using a different USB port? Right now if I put the computer to sleep and turn off the mouse it is fine - if I turn the mouse on and move it before I wake the computer - the mouse movement wakes it.
This is a brand new X230, Win 7.
    Thanks!
    Lily

Check under *Keyboard & Mouse* in preferences. Mine is a wireless bluetooth mighty mouse and it's under Bluetooth I don't have a USB mouse but from this article there may not be a switch for turning the wake up off.

Sorry for these issues, the updates team is still working on getting all the updates published for the new systems like X230...
Bluetooth should be there starting from today.
I recommend not installing RapidBoot Shield unless you have personally tested it and determined that it makes your image boot faster and doesn't cause side-effects.
Intel USB 3.0 has a wrong dependency on RapidBoot Shield, the team is working on removing the dependency.  If you are using ThinInstaller you may be able to figure out how to remove the dependency from the XML file yourself...

  • Lumia 820 cannot connect to PC via Bluetooth

Hi there. I have recently bought a new Lumia 820, which is a great phone, except that I cannot connect the Lumia to my PC (win 7) via Bluetooth. I have been using phones with bluetooth for a long time, so this is not my first time. I can see my pc in the list, but when i click "connect", the phone is connected to the pc for like one second and then the connection breaks up. Transfering a single file by clicking "send" and then "bluetooth" is no problem, but the connecting directly between the pc and the phone via bluetooth instead of usb cable is no success. Can anybody help me out here please? Thank you!

  • Where did "BT Notifications" for smartwatch go???

I recently purchased the Otium Gear S smartwatch which requires a bluetooth notification app in order to use over half of its features. At the time I purchased the watch there was an app available for this called "BT Notifications" however now that the watch has arrived the app is gone. Where did it go? And when/if we'll it be back? ?
I have been an iphone guy for many years now and would life to stay that way... But Android has a similar app that works perfectly... Just saying.. Could be a deal breaker for me.
    Please help!

    Hello,
I apologize for the delay in responding to your message (I just saw it) and for the really lackluster responses you've received.
The Otium Mobile site has a owner's manual for the Gear S - it is a PDF.  That PDF contains this link:
    https://unibuying.blob.core.windows.net/apks/BTNotification_K6.apk
windows.net?  Yup.  I don't know why.  Cheap bandwidth, I guess.
That APK is for Android devices and won't work on iOS devices - and, really, isn't needed for iOS.  Be grateful, BTNotification digs its claws deep in to Android, and it wants access to everything!  There is also a 2D barcode on the watch, as an app - QuickResponse.  I don't know where that will take you, but it should be a link to the app.  You'd have to have a QR code reader on your Android device to use that code.
Since that APK isn't signed by anyone, you'll have to turn off the protections Android has in place to prevent malware from running before you can install it.  Don't worry, it will detect these protections and walk you through disabling them.
I did install the BTNotification app and paired it with one of my Android phones - that didn't enable all the features, like the remote camera and the BT Notifications app on the Gear S.  Broken?  Unfinished?  That's kind of the impression I am getting.
The Gear S, when paired with OS X or iOS, works well enough to do things like control what music is playing, do file transfers, etc.  I don't have an iPhone, so I can't tell you whether or not it will dial and take calls.  I imagine it would, much like a BMW's iDrive.  That the Gear S was able to reach in to my Mac and iPod and play music of BT, channeling the sound to the Gear S's speaker, was impressive.
I use a cut-down SIM inserted in the watch and it works perfectly.  Granted, the on-screen keyboard is a bit small for texts.  It's a pity the device won't pair with a BT keyboard.
Whether or not an iOS app can be written to take advantage of the Gear S is something I don't know just yet.  I have a couple of other projects brewing, but I figure I'll get around to playing with it eventually.  At least the device isn't ignored by iOS!  That's a fantastic thing!
Now, if only we could get the PS4 BT controller to be recognized.  Oh, how dreamy that would be...
