X230t usb3.0 failure with win8 pro x64

I have x230t with win8 64bit. However, somehow both usb3.0 ports cannot identify any usb3.0 device but can identify and install usb2.0 devices. In the device management, it shows Intel  usb 3.0 eXternsible Host Controller - 0100(Microsoft), the driver version: 6.2.9200.16628. I uninstall it several times and restart the laptop, it still dos not work. Can any one provide a comprehensive solution to this issue? (I remember a period ago, it works fine with 3.0 devices) thanks for help.

It also has usb3.0 driver compatibility issue. I tied to install usb3.0 again, it pops up a window showing there is a compatibility issue with Intel usb3.0 extensible usb controller driver. and when I download the driver from intel website, it shows that the system does not meet the minimum required for the installation. Can any solve this issue? thanks.

  • Is there a version of iTunes that's compatible with XP Pro x64?

    At this time I don't want to upgrade to Win 7 or go back to 32-bit XP, since iTunes is the only application I'm having trouble with and I like XP Pro x64 in all other ways. Is there either a version of iTunes that's compatible with XP Pro x64, or can one of the other versions be modified to make it compatible? Thanks.

    Thanks! The procedure worked great for me (using iTunes 10), however there was one caveat. I also had to edit “AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi” with Orca and change the entry in “LaunchCondition” from
    VersionNT64>=600
    to
    VersionNT64>=501
    in order for the Device Manager driver update procedure to work, and iTunes to recognize my iPhone4. Prior to doing this, only “digital still camera” was displayed in the “imaging” entry in Device Manger. Once I did the above, “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver” was listed, and the procedure worked as written.

  • Is CS6 compatible with Win8 Pro

    Is CS6 compatible with Win8 Pro?

    Microsoft does seem to care about backward compatibility so I wouldn’t be too concerned about CS6.
    I would think anything that runs on Win 7 should be fine on Win 8. That said, I wouldn’t push my luck with anything older than CS5 but it wouldn’t surprise me to see CS3 and later working okay.

  • Continuing Hardware Failure with Macbook Pro

    Before I explain my situation I'd like to mention that I'm very careful with my things and my mac has not sustained liquid or any other damage.
    About a month ago my Late 2011 release Macbook Pro experienced some hardware failure, specifically concerning the built-in keyboard, it has been 2 weeks since I received it from repairs and it has now experienced hard drive failure, I went on to erasing the hdd and reinstalling the os, it appears to be working fine but I'm concerned that it may experience more problems in the future.
    I bought my Macbook Pro this past November and I feel that it may have been defective as it has experienced these problems in such a short amount of time. Is there any way that apple can replace my Macbook Pro for a new one?

    No. After 14 days from purchase Apple reserves the right to repair or replace at their option. Thus far you've had a keyboard failure. Your HDD is working and nothing else has happened. You have no evidence to suggest the computer is defective since it has had only one hardware failure. I'd say you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

  • 1GB memory failure with XP Pro

    HI there,
    I have a Celeron 800 running XP Pro on a MS 6368 motherboard. Everything is OK with 512MB of ram, but if I put in the 2nd DIMM to make 1GB ram, the system runs slowly, and keeps crashing out to the "Blue screen of Death"
    THe only PCI card I have installed is the Sounndblaster Audigy Platinum
    Both of the DIMM strips work OK by themselves.
    Any suggestions ?
    Steely ..

    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/support/testreport/6368/memory.htm
    so in theory 2 x 512 work
    http://www.memtest86.com will test ram
    possible the extra juice the second dimm needs has gone over what your psu can supply

  • Will any branded expresscard USB3.0 work with 17" PRO

    This is something i had researched a while back and found that the answer was no, unless i wanted to go with lacie's proprietry driver or sonnetts card which is a little more than i would want to pay considering the price of incompatible cards. Now that apple have released their new lineup i assume they'll have native drivers. My question is, will this open the old macbooks up to a wider range of usb3 expresscards.
    Thank you.

    Your reasoning is valid but it does not follow that it will be that case.  I did have a conversation with a member of the technical stall at OWC regarding USB3 express cards and they related to me that data transfer rates were increased but not up the the levels USB3 is capable of.  No precise numerical values were quoted to me.
    Ciao.

  • Slow PC w/ Win8 Pro

    I just got a new computer to spec with Win8 Pro.  It's on an old XP network that the company doesn't want to upgrade right now, but accessing anything on the network (especially email and drawings takes forever. Why?? Excerpts from Microsoft forums
    below
    ==============================================================================
    Original Title:
    Windows 8
    Since windows 8 no longer reads .eml email I've had to install Outlook 2010. I am on a XP network and get mail through the server. Outlook takes five minutes just to get to the server and then another few minutes per email to open. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!  I
    have the same problem trying to get to and open drawings on our server.
    I had an older machine that could not work with the bigger 3D files we started working with. I opted for a new machine with window 8 because I thought that it was better  especially with more ram.  I wish I had my old machine back.
    Is there a way to get everything on my machine working or am I screwed??????
    ==============================================================================
    Since it's the network operations (like opening files from your server or Outlook email), it sounds like the network is your problem.  XP is 13 years old, sounds like that server is due for an update itself.  It's bottle-necking everything.
    But also, many problems in Windows 8.0 (which is already 3 years old itself) and were fixed in the 8.1 update. I notice selected that you haven't got the update yet.  Please open the Windows Store app on your tablet and touch the "Get Windows
    8.1 now" button that you see to get the update.
    And finally, you might want to take a quick look at :
    ==============================================================================
    Thank you for your reply. I realize that the XP server is old and should be retired but like so many other companies it's hard for them to justify the time and expense to change.
    Having said that what I don't understand is that there are 150+ computers here, all of them running Windows previous to Vista. When they access the server it acts like the files are on the hard drive. What I mean is you can access the daily email directory
    and it opens almost immediately (1-2 sec.). When you select and open an email it's the same thing.  But on my new Win 8 Pro machine I click on the daily email Icon and wait 15-40 sec. to load. (I've timed it), then you click on the folder for today you
    can wait as long as three minutes to load the emails depending on how many are there.
    Because Win 8 deleted anything to read .eml files I had to get Outlook 2010. Now to open an email I have to click on the email which now loads Outlook, (sometimes 5 minutes) before the email opens. Don't even try to open a second email with Outlook open,
    it WILL lockup. SO you close Outlook and go to the second email. Just today it took me from 8:10am to 10:05am to open and read 11 emails, no response to any just open and read.
    This is supposed to be the latest and greatest (LOL) from Microsoft. There must be a way for this NEW machine to act like the old outdated computers and just open an email.
    By the way, I turned off search indexing and looked at the startup programs that load. All of them were for Microsoft to run. This computer has no games, bell are whistles. I've loaded the 2D and 3D software that I use for design and nothing else. (EXCEPT
    Outlook 2010 now). There was absolutely no difference in the performance and the CPU barely registers any use except when I have the 3D software crunching a large project.

    Here is the forum for you.
    Just to remind, Win8.1 is the latest recommended version, and the next one will be "Windows 10". Windows 8 is obsolete and should be upgraded.

    Nine, that only covers Widows 7. Many people in this thread have reported the problem using Windows 8. Has that been addressed by Lenovo yet? Stability problems like this should NEVER be allowed to go so long without a resolution.
    Edit Note : This thread was created base from the previous thread "ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector. As we currently Cx reporting facing the same issue on Win8 I have seperated this thread in order not toconfuse other customer. For cutomers facing this issue please continue posting in this thread.

    Hi shan_mcarthur,
    Thanks for posting. I read through this thread again and noticed that most of customers here do indeed have Windows 7 installed as what the title represented unless I'm mistaken or may have missed out are you or anyone else here facing the same issue on Windows 8. If that is the case I'll be more than happy to bring this up with the teams but it will have to be a new thread though as I'd like to keep the resolution separate based on the OS use just to not confuse other customer .
    For those facing the same issue above on Win8, please do let me know so we can start a discussion around this.
    Do let me know.

  • Windows XP Pro x64 problem with hardware aud

    I just upgraded my computer and with this upgrade I installed Windows XP Pro x64. I am having the following symptoms and I am wondering if they aren't part of a larger problem.
    When I run DXDiag (either the 32 or 64bit version) I get the following error message during the tests on the Sound tab: "Your sound card does not support hardware buffering. Sounds will only play back from software buffers.". Is this normal for Windows XP Pro x64. I've used this OS before (with my older system) and never saw that message and used 2 different X-Fi cards during that time!
    I also have this problem...While running Thief Deadly Shadows, when I enable "Audio Hardware Mixing" I loose all sound. And I am unable to enable "EAX Advanced HD" and "EAX Multiple Environments".
    It seems like I can't enable hardware audio. But I also have Lord of The Rings Online installed and it appears to be using it's hardware audio ok, but when I change from hardware to software it crashes if I don't disable EAX first, so it's not perfect. Is this card faulty or is this typical of WXPx64 or what?
    Thanks...
    My system specs are: Intel E6850, Asus P5K Deluxe (0404 BIOS), Corsair Twin2X4096-6400DHX, EVGA e-Geforce 8800 GTX, Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, Intel PRO/000 PT Server Adapter, Enermax Galaxy 000W Gamers Edition. I think that's all that's relevant.Message Edited by Zapper_Weisman on 07-27-20070:2 AM

    I disabled the Memory Remap Feature in the BIOS and my DXDiag and Thief problems went away. I had a hunch it was related to this. But now my question is, am I just out of luck, in terms of having to sacrifice some of my RAM (3.25GBs instead of 4GBs) to get my sound card working properly? It seems to me that this is a driver issue, as I've read others say that Creative never really supported x64 fully.
    Does anyone have anything to offer on this? Thanks...Message Edited by Zapper_Weisman on 07-27-20070:22 AM

  • Is the Creative ZEN compatible with Windows XP Pro x64 editi

    Hello, I recently bought a Zune and then found out it wasn't compatible with my OS, XP Pro x64. I installed the software on my laptop, but it was just too troublesome to set everything up and exchange music, videos, etc. between the two machines. So I've decided to return the Zune and get a Zen instead. I'd really like to buy the ZEN 8GB, but it does not state whether or not the x64 edition is supported. The ZEN V Plus states that the software does support the OS, so if I have to get that one, I don't mind. Thanks.

    CRe: Is the Creative ZEN compatible with Windows XP Pro x64 edition?H I recently bought a Zen 8GB mp3 player. I have an xp x64 pro OS. As soon as I tried to instal the included software from the CD, a dialogue box appeared stating, "The windows operating system running on this computer is not supported by this product." I have done everything the technical assistance group has suggested with the samed result including a clean install. I did load it on my 32 bit laptop. It works fine. ONe of the problems I have found is that the correspondance goes to a different person each time and they are not reading the dialogue. I have found a way to make it work (well somewhat) with my 64 bitg machine. Oddly enough thed software for my zen V load on fine but the software is incampatable with the Zen 8GB unit. I think that there are softwarfe problems and CT is not really dealing with them.

  • HELP! MBP with OSX & Win8 PRO, MBP always freeze in Win 8 after 15mins of use

    Well, let the storey begins... my MBP is two years old now. I got Win8 Pro as Christmas Gift and since I need to use some of the software under Windows therefore I installed Win8 Pro on my MBP through Bootcamp. Everything went through quite smoothly until I start using it , the computer will freeze without any warning 15mins into the use, the mouse will freeze first and then the keyboard won't respond.
    Trouble shooting - I have activated the Win8 Pro, the drivers are downloaded to USB drive during Bootcamp installation, 50G HD space for Win8 Pro is plenty. I really should took the advice from the Apple Store technician seriously, he told me Win7 is better, but I got Win8 Pro already so what should I do? Friend told me Win8 works perfectly on Parallels Desktop, but the software that I am using will take a lot of the RAM so don't really want to use Parallels Desktop, and it costs more as well... Help!!!!!

    Do you have two hard drives in the computer or just the disk partitioned with Mac/Win?
    It may seem like an odd question, but the secondary SATA controller is failing in my Mac and it causes freezing and system halts

                                                                            BTW_12.0.0.9820.zip
         directly in Windows 8.1. Remember if the software is uninstall the Bluetooth will be disabled and
         Windows will not be able to see the device in the “Device Manager”
    Last step, use your own Windows 8.1 Pro Key and Office 2013 key to register and activated your legal copy of the Microsoft software’s.

  • Desktop Windows Composition and Windows 8.1 Pro x64 [SOLVED]

    Hi, I'm Jenn, also new to these forums.
    I stumbled upon a problem when switching from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
    I have the EXACT same setup, same laptop, same hardware, same programs, same configuration, everything.
    Windows 7 never did anything like the problem I now have in Win 8.1. Here's the problem;
    Whenever I run more than 1 3D application, after 1-5 minutes the screen blinks, and hangs the graphics of one, some or all the programs (randomly). It doesn't hang the actual program (or game), it just stops rendering the graphics -- I can still hear the software's
    sound and if I click around, I can hear myself interacting with it.
    I have ALL the latest drivers for the computer, motherboard, ALL devices including graphics cards etc. Also ALL Windows Updates installed, nothing more to install.
    All of the programs I use is specifically set to use only the nVidia adapter, forcibly through the nVidia Control Panel, so it's not a switching graphics problem because it's a laptop. Also, never was a problem in Windows 7 either.
    Here's what I gathered from event viewer right when it happened;
    A logon was attempted using explicit credentials.
    Subject:

    So as you can see, DWM is logging in and out some account that can be all the way up to DWM-7 from what I've seen so far. It just logs in, sets some parameters and the directly logs out.
    This is a ONE-user system, Only my user account is on it, and remote login has been disabled.
    In Windows 7, at least DWM could be disabled - not that I ever had to, because it worked with all my stuff, but seeing as DWM is screwing up totally in Win8, I thought I'd just disable the server, but it's nowhere to be found.
    Also, it seems Microsoft changed how it works, the system has been redesigned to generate an OK even if it's still on, like this example below:
    DwmEnableComposition( DWM_EC_DISABLECOMPOSITION ) does not work on Windows 8, even though it returns S_OK.  Confirmation is by calling DwmIsCompositionEnabled(), which shows the former function had no effect.
    There's only 1 dwm.exe running.
    There's only 1 user logged in (me).
    There's only 1 user in the userlist (except for the Administrator account).
    Running only 1 of the softwares at a time is not an option for me, either for work or for home use, so how can I fix this?
    // Jenn

    Hi Jenn,
    Please take a look at the following article.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh848042(v=vs.85).aspx
    In Windows 8, Desktop Window Manager (DWM) is always ON and cannot be disabled by end users and apps.
    I suggest you to download and install the graphic driver from the manufacturer and check if this issue still exist.
    As you may have two graphic cards, we could temporally disable one and check if there are compatibility issues.

  • Windows 7 Pro x64 now BSOD just as it is starting and Startup Repair has failed

    As the title says, a few days ago my Windows 7 Pro x64 started to BSOD just as Windows is starting but the error screen disappears immediately.
    Startup Repair fails and has Problem Signature 04: 21199350
    I have used the Windows 7 Pro installation DVD and opened its Command Prompt option and then run the chkdsk and sfc programs but no errors were reported. Also, I ran bootrec with /fixmbr then with /fixboot and finally with /rebuildbcd but it made no difference.
    After a failure, the next time I turn on the PC I am offered to repair Windows or to start windows normally. Using the repair from here didn't work as also happened when I chose the repair option from the Windows 7 Pro installation DVD.
    Holding down the f8 key when Windows is starting doesn't make any difference.
    BTW, the crash happens as the 4 small parts of windows are approaching each other on the Windows start screen.
    I can access my hard disk by attaching it to my laptop. If the error 21199350 reported by Startup Repair failure is not the BSOD error, will this be recorded in a file each time it happens? If so, which file?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated as I dread having to reinstall Windows 7 Pro from scratch again and all the many programs I spent ages installing.
    Thanks
    Paul

    Sorry for the delay in replying.
    This evening I managed to modify the PC registry from the Startup Repair command window so it wouldn't reboot on BSOD.
    Used regedit.exe to modify the following in the PC's registry (I followed the 17 July 2011 Terra-byte "Modify the Windows Registry from Startup Repair" article):
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\CrashControl] and set AutoReboot to 0x00000000.
    and also for ControlSet002.
    The BSOD error is: 0x0000007B which seems to be a device driver problem.
    Would my problem be caused by my installing 2x 2GB DIMMs that I bought on eBay into my Abit AB9 Pro motherboard's two free slots (the other two slots each have 1GB DIMMs) but on power on nothing happened?
    Removing the two new DIMMs the PC powered on but then resulted in BSOD.
    Thanks
    Paul
    Error 0x000000tB is a very often reported error.  It means INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE.  Either something in your BIOS changed the type of storage device (AHCI -> IDE) or your HDD is experiencing a possible failure.
