X240 Drivers for Unkown Device: USB\VID_138A&pid_0017

Hello,
I am trying to install all the drivers for a Lenovo x240 running Windows 7 64 bits.
I can't find the one for the unknown device (see attached screenshot):
As you can see the ID for the driver is USB\VID_138A&PID_0017
(I have unsuccessfully tried to install most of the drivers from the Lenovo Drivers site)
I would be really gratefull if you have found this issue and share the solution.
Regards.
Thanks

Hello and welcome
A little searching turns up some threads here on the forums that say it's the fingerprint reader.

  • Drivers for input devices, xorg.conf

    Hi!
I have a laptop with keyboard + touchpad of course and external usb logitech mouse. I would like you to advise me about drivers for these devices. For logitech mouse it's rather obvious. I need to use evdev, to use all buttons. But is there any sense to use evdev with touchpad (Elantech) or keyboard? Should I use standard kbd driver for keyboard and mouse for touchpad? Do you have any other suggestions?
(BTW. I am encountering some problem with mouse and touchpad configured as evdev. When logging out of gnome, X server gets a segfault (Fatal Error, Caught signal 11).

I think that card is an agp card (i have one matrox g100 here agp1x, powerful stuff 8mb xD).
There's an option called Agp aperture size in your bios... since you almost dont have any video ram memory avaiable, increase that value to at least 128mb and you should be able to do something with that... (you need to have at least 128mb of ram).
8mb isn't enough to have high resolutions with 24bit depth. just do "(resolution x bit depth) /  (100000 * 8)" -> that will give you in MBytes the amount of vram that you need. For example, 1280x1024 @ 24bits needs 4mb. *i cant confirm if what i said is correct, but im almost sure that this is the math that you have to do*

  • Are there LabVIEW drivers for the MCC USB-501 temperature logger

I am looking to purchase the MCC USB-501  and use it to acquire the ambient temperature on an event driven basis. The data logging portion is something I am interested in, I just want to have my application acquire the tempture when a certain event occurs. Does anyone have any LabVIEW drivers for this device?

I don't know what you mean by using a logger that collects data on an "event driven basis".
It is nifty little device, but it basically does one thing.  It logs data.  You load the software, configure it for when to start an how often to log data, unplug it, and put it where you want to log the temperature.  When you're done, you get it plug it back in and download the data that was logged.
There is no way to configure it to react to events.  It's possible that a LabVIEW driver exists for this, but all it would do is provide an alternate way of downloading the data instead of using the software that comes with it.  It is not an immediate or interactive piece of hardware like a normal data acquisition card would be.

  • Qosmio G10-133 Drivers for Other Devices

    Hi peeps.
Yes I know this is an old laptop. I recently had to re-install the software due to hard drive failure. I always have problems. Toshiba installed a new motherboard years ago with the upgraded video chipset Nvidia Geforce Go 6600. Since then I have always had problems reinstalling using original disks. I have never been able to reinstall the Qosmio Player and always end up with the laptop rebooting after software was installed and going to blue screen of death. I have now given up with the qosmio player and the install disks (Windows MCE) and just install Windows XP. However here is the problem:
Under Device Manager I get a couple of errors:
Other Devices states MULTIMEDIA VIDEO CONTROLLER as not working.........what an earth is this and where do I find the driver?
UNKNOWN DEVICE as not working.................................what on earth can this be and what drivers?

    Hi again,
I went and did what you suggested, but it can't find a vendor and the 2nd item is unknown. The "System" showed the following:
System Information report written at: 02/13/11 09:19:59
    System Name: QOSMIO
    [Problem Devices]
Device PNP Device ID Error Code

Not Available ACPI\TOS6205\2&DABA3FF&0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
I couldn't find vendor 4444. I assume that the problem is that my motherboard is different to the one my disks are for. To get the graphics card to work I had to download the drivers for the g20 model not the g10. (I assume that this is due the original being an nvidia 5900 and this board has nvidia 6200.

  • Where can I find drivers for dvd device?

    Hi guys,
Hi want to install Windows 7 but when I am running setup windows asks for drivers for dvd device.
Where can I find these drivers or how can I install windows 7?
I know hp does not support serie tx1000 in windows 7 but I have seen people who installed that OS.
    any help will be usefull
    thanks!

I just got off the phone with a new case manager named Jamie 1-877-917-4380 ext 93 regarding new case number 7501359724, and of course just what I expected he would say, HP has no known issue with the tx series and no issue with the Nvidia 6150 chip.  He said that its just a coincidence that 1000's and 1000's of owners have experienced overheating motherboards.  That despite the same symptoms of other hp laptops and their recall proceding a huge lawsuit with Nvidia admitting they had sold hp defective chips, the tx/ 6150 nvidia was not one of the defective chips.  After reading the lawsuit details I found that Nvidia never released a list of the exact defective chips just that there were some, and then settled with hp.  Hp for some reason or another made a list of the so called defective ones and left many of the additional defective ones including the tx series/ Nvidia 6 series chips off the list.  Maybe there are not as many of us that own it, so as a business move they felt they could get away with this, or maybe because the failure typically hits a month or two after warranty expires.  I even looked up the chip by itself and found that the same Nvidia 6150 chip was used in certain Dell notebooks and had an issued recall relating to its defect.  Yet Jamie from Hp clearly stated that there is no known defect and that I would need to pay 400.00 USD and get the mother board replaced. I told him that I wasn't going to do that, why would I spend 400 dollars to have a new defective mother board intsalled to fail again.  He assured me that it wouldn't be an issue because the new mother boards have a different set of chips due to the issue with the old chip.  What is that about?  Does he think I am stupid, they say there is no defect in that chip, so they wont take responsability but they admit there is an issue with the chip, what is the difference?  They change the word defect with issue and that excuses them from any liability in providing a product capable of delivering expectations and quality of its class.  I personally wont settle for this. I wont settle for less than a refund or a new equall value notebook free from defect with an extended warranty.  To all of you others with this model of notebook i suggest you do the same, don't give up on your right to defend your hard earned money.  Look up Nvidia 6 series chips and you will find many companies that have disclosed its defect and taken responsability to their product owners.  Hp needs to do the same. Shame on HP  I had to edit this because they keep deleting my posts to cover up there secret, you can try and follow the trouble shooting tips, but it wont work, the graphics card has burned up and is killing your mother board.  A company invested a lot of money only to realize they can either lose a lot more money or they can brush it under the rug at the expense of their customers, and so they try to sustain profitability, by hiding the truth.  I suggest you buy a msi netbook, it has no frills but I promiss it will last, msi knows how to make a strong motherboard and stand by their products, no use in buying a fancy computer when it will only tease you with 13mons of life.  I am sorry that myself and all of you put your hard money and trust into a product that was probably knowingly doomed before it was even sold to us. Just remember that in this economy even a large company that you think you can trust can't be trusted, MONEY trumps the consumer!!

  • Drivers for ThinkVision USB Soundbar (40Y7616)

After installation of new ThinkVision USB Soundbar (40Y7616) on Windows XP the device is not recognized by OS, it shows as "USB Audio Device" in device manager, but Windows can not find a driver, and no driver was shipped with the speakers.  Search of IBM/Lenovo download and could not find the drivers.
If somebody can point how to download drivers it will be much appreciatied.

Since no one else has replied, I'll take a stab at this even though I don't have this soundbar.
From what I can see on Lenovo's website, there are no drivers specifically for this device. When you plug it into a USB port, Windows should recognize it and you should be able to get sound out of the speakers. Is that not the case?
You might try to delete the  "USB Audio Device" in device manager, power down, then reboot with the soundbarplugged in. Windows should then recognize the device and install whatever drivers it needs.

  • Drivers for Analog Devices RTI-815

    Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find Labview drivers for an Analog
Devices RTI-815 card, if they exist?
The card came out of a Haake Rheocord System 90. The old
controller for it is a 286; we'd like to replace it with a newer computer
and software written in Labview. Thanks for your help.
    -Nathan

Hi, thanks for the responses.  I did a search on the 815 and 802, but I must admit, I neglected to search the forums for the AC28.  All 3 cards are still available (although AD has discontinued their cards UEI manufactures replacement units)  The company I work for has these cards in several test rigs, and I'm looking at options of modernising the PC & control software without incurring the cost of a complete control system retrofit (the current control software is DOS based).  In view of performance & accuracy it probably makes sense to upgrade the cards and signal conditioning, but In the short term that would be a difficult proposition.
We also have other test machines which use labview, AD 5B signal conditioning, and Siemens profi connected I/O.  Ideally if we were to look at a complete retro I would be keen to commonise as much equipment as possible.  However, while the current hardware remains available, and performs adequately It will be quite difficult to justify.
SSK: Also, I would be interested in the code that was you utilised, if you could dig it up that would be a great starting point.
Mark:  Thanks also for your post.  I'll look into the driver kit, and most likely ask NI if they would consider writing some drivers at some stage.

  • Drivers for Belkin F5U220 USB PCI card

I am trying to install Belkin F5U220 USB PCI card into my G4. There are no drivers on the CD or Belkin's website. After installation, I connection Apple mouse. The mouse indicator was lit. But does not work. Where can I get drivers for this PCI card ? I read several posts here that this card worked on many systems. Wondering how it worked... Appreciate any help.

The drivers are built into the operating system.
Does the card appear in your system profiler?
When I plugged in my usb 2 card it just worked. From time to time I had to reset the pmu to get things reset properly but it has been 2 times in 2 years. (lots of 2's in my post, huh?)
Apple seems to have removed the link to the reset of the pmu so I'll give a readers digest.
    Open the mac
Touch the power supply case to ground yourself
Remove the battery and check the voltage (3.6V)
Press the pmu button (3/8"square box with a bb size button in the center). Hold it down for a 3 count. Don't press it more than one time or you will mess things up
    Replace the battery
Restart the mac with the usb2 card in it.
    See if that helps

  • Are there DASYLAB 6.00.07 hardware drivers for the NI USB-9215

I'm working with Dasylab 6.00.07. Do you know whether there are allready any hardwaredrivers for the NI USB-9215 ?

At this time, DASYLab only works with NI hardware via the traditional NI-DAQ interface. Any board that is not supported via NI-DAQ will not work with DASYLab V8.
The data sheet for the USB-9215 says:
    USB-9211 and USB-9215 devices each come with a ready-to-run
data logger application that acquires and logs up to four channels of
analog data. For more functionality, the NI-DAQmx Base driver
software is a multiplatform driver with a limited NI-DAQmx
    programming interface.
This says that it is not supported via NI-DAQ, and is not currently supported by DASYLab.
We are actively working to ensure DASYLab's support for the DAQmx interface - watch for updates of the software!
Please note that new driver support, such as this,
will require an upgrade to the released version of DASYLab. It is not possible to update V7 or earlier with the changes required to fully support DAQmx.

What???? Why do you suppose I didn't open that page? If I didn't open that page, how could I have quoted from it?
As I quoted in my previous post, as you quoted in your reply above, the drivers on that page are listed as "Tracker Pre". (Excuse me, but I don't know how I could have known that it was described as such on that page, if I had not even opened that page? Strange assumption on your part, if I may say so!)
In any case, I asked you (or anyone who knows) what that designation "Tracker Pre" means. (Pre Beta?) That certainly does not sound like a final version. Especially considering that the driver of 4/23/2007 is also still listed on that page, it really does not look like the driver of 2/1/2008 is "final", full (non-beta) driver.
So, why does the title of this thread describe the driver at the linked page as being "Final"?
    Please explain.
And please, do not make silly assumptions, that I did not visit a page, when it should be quite obvious that I had done just that. Thank you.

  • Need special drivers for hi-speed USB 2.0?

I would like to upgrade my PowerBook G4 Titanium with hi-speed USB 2.0 capabilities so that I can transfer data quicker to an external hard drive.
It seems that I just need to buy one of those hi-speed USB 2.0 notebook adapter cards. However, I noticed that on the back of the Belkin adapter packaging it said something to the effect of "Hi-speed (480 mb/s) can only be achieved on Mac OS X through the use of third party drivers."
Anyone know if you need some special drivers/software to get the highest speeds out of a USB 2.0 adapter? Are there other factors that might prevent someone who's upgrading a PowerBook G4 from getting the full hi-speed USB 2.0 performance? Thank you in advance for any advice...

    Hey Basstone -
I just noticed your post. I had unsubscribed to this thread, so I didn't know you had posted a problem. I am really not sure what is causing your problem. It's a bit perplexing.
I'll just shoot blindly and suggest that maybe the driver that enabled your PCMCIA card to work in 10.3.x was not updated in 10.4.x, or was somehow corrupted when you upgraded. That could explain why the card no longer works. It might also be possible that you have a problem with the PC card slot itself; a hardware problem.
Do you have another PC card that you can use to test the slot? That would rule it out as the source of your troubles.
Also, would it be possible to back up your important data, reformat your hard drive, reinstall 10.3.x, and see if the problem goes away under the old OS? That would also rule out a hardware problem and might prove (somewhat conclusively) that the problem is software-related.
Of course if it is related to Tiger, you'd be out of luck. You'd need to either live without Tiger or without that particular PCMCIA card. I wish I could have been more help on this one.
