X240 Projector Issue

Hi Guys,
X240 will not work correctly on any Mitsubishi Electric XD490U projector. I know this is one of the older projectors we have but I don't understand why it would be playing up. The X240's all work perfectly fine on all our other projectors just not this particular model.
When I connect an x240 by VGA to the projector it will sometimes connect and disconnect straight away or not connect at all.
How I get it to workEven then it will disconnet after sometime)
- Toggling through the options with F7 on Duplicate mode (takes 5-10 trys till I get it working
- Manually going through screen resolution options on desktop works 50% of the time
- Installed latest video card drivers, going through Intel’s HG Graphics options is also 50% of the time will work
- Restarting Netbook with VGA plugged in doesn't do anything

Mirroring with apple tv screen size on projector issue

Hello, my name is Dave. I do praise and worship music at a small church.
I want to mirror my ipad on a projection TV. I have the ipad and apple tv but it's not using the entire projection screen. It only uses about 40% of the screen.
I also want to use portrait mode as landscape is to wide and won't display the entire song well.
Apple suggested keynotes but I understand that doesn't work in portrait mode. That is a biggie for me. I have notability but isthe problem the app or getting the right screen resolution ont he projector / apple tv or how can I fix this please?

Well that's the issue my friend. I called apple and told them what I wanted to do. They told me to get those things. So ... I called abck and double checked. I asked a different person the same scenario. Same ereply. So yes I did order apple tv and airpolay. As stated it doesn't work. The image is WAY smaller than the screen and it's not scaleable at all.
I don't understand what the praying jab is about. Praying was never mentioned in the issue here was it?
Back to the issue: it's not that I didn't realize this technology isn't here I was told it was by two different techs. So when I called back to explain my problem I was bounced around apple to several departments to find the technology simply wasn't here yet as I was told. I was informed incorrectly. So appple let me return the products. The customer service person apologized and I certainly accepted.
So the issue has nothing to do with praying etc. it's simply that for some reason, using your ipad for a demo only nets you 40% of the screen size and scaling is not an option.
Wish I knew that before I placed the order as that was not how it was explained either time I called in.
Now, let's have some techs start working on this issue... else I'm about to start praying... ;-)

Macbook MiniVGA Display port Epson Projector Issues "Not Supported"

I have been using my Macbook OSx 10.8.5 with a Rocketfish Mini Displayport to VGA adapter (RF-AP307) connected to an Epson Projector (Powerlite83plus) for 3 weeks and just the other day a blue screen appeared on the projector stating that the computer is 'Not Supported'.
Actions I have already tried:
- turned on and off mirroring
- changed the refresh rate
- unplugged VGA adapter and restarted the computer
- attempted to install firmware update for MiniVGA display port following directions located here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/_Mini_DisplayPort_to_VGA_Firmware_Update (update failed because VGA adapter not found)
Anyone having similar issues and have some additional solutions? Need a solution fast, if I need to buy another VGA adapter I will but would rather not have to spend the money again...

That update is for the Apple branded adapter, not the Rocketfish adapter.
I have the same adapter as you and have had no problems. That doesn't really mean anything other than the part does work with many types of projectors. Yours could have failed, though. Does it work on any other display or projector?

X240 wifi issues

I have often noticed that this laptop (win8) faces issues trying to connect with wifi when other cheaper devices (older laptops, phones) have no such difficulty. Generally this happens in cafes so the issue is bearable but of late I have started facing it in my home (netgear router). Considering how expensive this laptop is I find it absolutely unacceptable that its performance should be so pedestrian. Let me explain the issue. Laptop can't connect with home network when every other device I have connects to it. Specifically, it displays that ridiculous yellow exclamation mark which essentially means "I am going to throw a massive tantrum because I am a rich spoiled brat." Troubleshooting it comes up with the generic sounding error "Wi/Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration". Tried several solutions given online but none works. Have also updated the driver to the Intel one given on Lenoveo's site but doesn't help. The network adapter is N-7260 which, I am led to believe from the forums here at Lenovo, is an absolute POS? Anyway, I'd really appreciate any help here, short of which I will be forced never to consider a Lenovo again (I've had several before.)

As per the query we understood that you are facing the issue with Wifi on your ThinkPad X240.
Please let us know is the issue persists only in your home network or it is occurring with all Wifi network?
If this you are facing only in your home network, then I suggest you to check with updating the Netgear router Firmware.
Also check with disabling any antivirus which is having firewall in it. Please let us know the status.

W530 Nvidia 2100m Projector Issues

Hi,
I am having problems when connecting to projectors. For some projectors, it only allows me to connect to them when I choose "only projector" mode, not extended or duplicate. Even when I can connect, videos often are unplayable because intense video artefacting occurs. I just purchased a DLP projector and the projector will not display any picture no matter the settings. I've tried chaning both the nvidia settings and the settings through windows. My projector's name will come up in both dialogues but the projector will not output any picture.
Any ideas on what's going on here?

The W520 always worked. But only when the BIOS Display setting was set to Discrete.
The W530 "should" work on Optimus or Discrete. The NVIDIA GPU drives the external connections.
If you have tried more than one VGA cable and more than one external display type, then I think you have done all you can do from a troubleshooting perspective. It should just work.

Projector Issues Using Maverick OSX

After upgrading to Maverick - Mac book pro retina would not recognize any connection to a projector. This was true using both USB ports and thunderbolt. Removed using time machine back to Mountain Lion and no problem. Any ideas!

Never had that happen to me with Keynote. Are you sure the VGA connector didn't come loose?
I've had similar issues with other apps, e.g. iCab Mobile. Unlike Keynote, they don't prevent the iPad from going to sleep. And I found myself struggling to re-enable the connection to the projector afterwards on such occassions. Can't remember exactly what I did, but it did involve unplugging the VGA adapter and restarting the app in question (but neither the projector nor the iPad).

D11 Mac Projector Issues

Hi.
Most of my director authoring involves creation of full
screen projectors with a black background colour set for the stage.
I have noticed that all projectors I create with D11 show a brief
flash of white on the stage (but not surrounding the stage) when
the projector starts. This is with either a full projector for a
very simple test movie (created from scratch in D11) or a stub
projector with an updated movie (from Director MX). This is not the
case with Windows projectors tested.
My computing details are:
Authoring Environment: Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Intel)
Playback Environments: Mac OS X 10.4.11 (PPC & Intel),
10.5.2 (PPC)
I cannot deliver projectors with this issue to clients.

Projector issues using Keynote

I've been using Keynote on my iPad for teaching, and it's been great so far. However, I've noticed that, sometimes when I'm talking and not using the iPad, the projector will lose its connection to the iPad. Once that happens, no matter what I do (restarting projector, restarting iPad, re-attaching cables, restarting Keynote, you name it) doesn't seem to get Keynote to show up on the projector again. (I.e. Keynote will open, but that special play button that lets you project onto the projector will not show up; instead, you get the regular play button that you see when it's not connected to anything.)
The initial connection to the projector is fine. It's only when the projector somehow loses the connection to the iPad/Keynote that the problem happens.
Has anyone else encountered this issue and, if so, have you solved it?

Flash Player 10.1 Projector issues with FullScreen

I am trying to make a flash player 10.1 projector file (both .app and .exe) and I am having some issues when I go fullscreen.
This was originally a web project, and everything works okay online (or even locally when I click on my .html file). However when I make an .app projector file, and play it, some (not all) of my buttons stop working on fullscreen mode).
I seem to be having problems with any buttons that have an alpha Tween (I am using TweenLite/TweenMax) applied to them on the MOUSE_OVER event.
Buttons with Blur tweens work in both fullscreen and normal screen mode.

I did get it working through a series of steps, I'll include it here if anyone has the same problem. I'm not sure why changing the file name works...but it did!
1. Made sure I had the latest version of the Flash Player/Projector.
2. Opened the .swf file in the Flash player.
3. Published as a projector file with a DIFFERENT NAME as my .swf file.

Mini Dvi to VGA for Projector issue

I recently bought a mini DVI to VGA adapter for my new macbook Black 2.4 ghz. When I hook this up to the projector nothing comes through, but the computer recognizes the projector. I know it is not the projector because when I plug in my 12inch powerbook it instantly recognizes the computer and displays whatever is on the screen. I even returned the adapter for a new one and am still having the problem. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Are there steps that I'm not doing, or is there something wrong with the mini dvi on my macbook?

When I attach my MacBook to a projector via mini DVI, all variations of order of activation used, the desktop image appears, but the icons and other open pages are off the screen to the right.
Of greater importance, Keynote presentations appear as two slides side by side, with a timer under the left image and no transitions.
This has happened with two portable projectors and one overhead, exactly the same images with each.

MBP 15' i5 2010 Model + vga adapter and projector issue

Dear All,
my MBP always got screen crash (green / purple screen) when i use a VGA adapter in miniport to projector,
I have to hard reset. it's strange that, after rebooting, it doesn't crash when I connect to the projector again.
but next time when i connect to project, it crashes again
i tried different VGA adapters, still the same.
any ideas?

Macbook Pro to Projector issue. Please help.

Hey now. I have been watching tv via a projector using my macbooks for years now. Today all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore. I don't know if it has to do with an apple update I downloaded. Curiously, I can see my computer's wallpaper through the projector, but JUST the wallpaper. Any applications I run will not show up, not even the dock shows up through the projector (but everything runs properly on my computer while attached to the video-out.) I'm running an HDMI cable from the projector to a mini display port converter thingy (I know... I'm real technical ) Anyways, any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

MacBook w/ Retina hooked to Projector issues

i have a Macbook Pro with Retina display. I have it hooked to a projecter, but i cant seem to show one thing on the projecter and do something else on the computer itself. Mirror display is off. Is there a setting i can change?
i want to be able to show a powerpoint, or a youtube video on the projecter, but read emails and surf the internet while the powerpoint/video is running.
What it is doing now is making my computer screen black and only dispaying from the projector. If i try to use the COMMAND & TAB solution, it stops whats running on the projector to let me do what i need to.

After connected, try going to system preferences>displays, and make sure mirroring is unselected, then cluck the arrangement tab. You can select which pane can be dragged off to the projector, while keeping the native screen on the MBP. Be aware that if you scroll your cursor off the sceen to the "non-white topped" screen in the arrangement it will appear on the projector. If you are trying to do this for a critical mission enviroment, I would reccomend not trying, but it is doable.

PLEASE HELP - M500 Projector Issue

I just inherited a M500 projector from my cousin who had to move away and I've been trying to get it to accept video signal from either composite video cable (yellow tip), S-Video or HDMI via different converter pieces for the DVI-I port. I haven't been successful. I've looked everywhere for a converter piece that would allow the projector to accept this type of video signal but no luck. I finally went to an electronics shop where the guy told me that there were specific cables that come with the projector that allow for this type of conversion and that I need these specifically. Since my cousin is gone I won't be getting them from him. Can anyone PLEASE help me by directing me to where I might find these cables or if I can purchase them directly from Lenovo??????? I can't wait to get this projector up and running.

AppleTV and Infocus 7205 Projector Issue

I have an Infocus 7205 connected via DVI>hdmi to my theater system reciever. AppleTV 2 set up screen is distorted and jumpy/unreadable. I set up the ATV on a different monitor (LCD) and all worked well. Re-connected to my theater/projector and same problem. Is there a problem with the dvi>hdmi adapter? Cable TV looks great,but cannot get ATV up on the screen. I have the correct input selected, etc. Any thoughts?

(At some point turn off your projector)
Go into the setting on your AppleTV ans set resolution to 720 (not AUTO)
then
unplug the power cable to the AppleTV
wait 30 seconds
then
Plug the power cable back into the Apple TV
then
wait 60 seconds
then
Turn your projector back on
Let us know if that works
