  • Problem transfering songs 2 iPod

I dont know if it's my ipod or itunes. I can import tracks into my library with no problem. I transfer songs onto my ipod without problems. But when I look on it to find the tracks I just loaded, it has the artist for that cd listed about 5 or more times w/ all the tracks under each of the artist listings. which means I have 1 cd on my ipod listed 5 or more times. What can I do?????

    That sounds odd.
DO you have lots of multiples in your iTunes library?
You might just want to restore the iPod to factory settings and sync it all again. Restore, not update....scroll to the bottom of this

  • Small problem transfering songs and video to ipod

hey everyone.. so ive had the new ipod for about 2 weeks now, and i will say this, i have greatly enjoyed it and have had almost no problems with it, except for the one i bring to all of you today..
ive been searching the boards all morning and havent seen this problem addressed or answered..
ok, so here goes.. i have 2 cds that i purchased on itunes and 3 videos that i put on itunes that were converted with videora. these certain files show up on itunes but dont show up on my ipod..
here is what i have tried in means of troubleshooting.
i have tried to change the tags, in some cases itunes recognized it and updated it to my ipod. i see it transfering, so i say ok cool, then go to my ipod and the files arent there.
i have tried to put the ipod on the updater and erase everything and try to update it again with all the files, once again, it shows it updating but once i go to the ipod to listen or watch these files, they arent there..
now while these files arent ones that i absolutely have to have and listen to everyday, its still a bit upsetting that i cant play them on the occasions that i wish to..
so if anyone has any advice before i decide to take it to the apple store, it would be appreciated!
other than that, new ipod is awesome i love it!

  • Unique problem transferring songs...I think

    Using Windows XP Home Edition
First, a short background...my computer crashed last month, and I lost my library. I eventually restored my library by transferring from my ipod. However, before I did that I had added about 10 new songs to the library. My library now shows all my songs. I have updated to current versions on itunes and my ipod mini. When I plug the ipod into the computer, itunes recognizes it. It updates automatically, but the 10 songs I added to library before transferring the old ones back will not update on the ipod. I have tried the manual update also. In addition, any new songs I add to the library now, will not transfer to my ipod. Any help or suggestions will be very appreciated.

Also, somehow I put the songs in my library twice so i have duplicates of every song. Is there an option to delete duplicates or do i have to maually delete them one by one?

  • I am having problems transferring songs from my computer to my iPhone.

I got a new laptop and installed all my music onto it, I also installed iTunes.  When I connect my phone it brings up iTunes etc. but if I try to drag music from my "library" to my phone, it will not let me.  Am I missing something?  I know when I hooked my phone up to the laptop the first time it just recoginized it at a mobile phone, and a storage device, it did not try to dl iTunes automatically, I had to go the the dl site and get it manually.

The way I've always done it and someone may have a better way and if so, I'd be open to how it's done actually the correct way.  Since this way has worked for me 100% in the past, why try and fix something that isn't really broken.  Try my way and hopefully all will be good in the iPhone/iTunes world for you:
Find the directory (folder) on your computer that is named something close to this after first connecting your iPhone to your computer and then verifying (very important) you can see it in the folder list on the left side of the iTunes application window:
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes\
After locating this directory (folder) path,(it may or may not be on the C: drive depending on where you installed iTunes of course) simply copy all of your media (music, videos, etc.) to this folder and allow the copy to complete.  Now, sit back and relax as iTunes "grabs" music from this folder one file at a time and more or less "checks" it to see if it's iPhone worthy of sorts.
When the copying and grabbing of files from this folder is complete, this folder will be empty.  Yes, empty as all of the files that have been either added or not added depending on the quality (I guess) of each of the media files and have now been "added to iTunes".  If the files were not added to the iTunes library, it's because they was some type of issue with the file quality or content or something.... not exactly sure how media files are "judged" by this process.
Now that this process is complete, right click on your "iPhone" which you should still see on the left side of the iTunes application window and then click "Backup iPhone" or something close to that. NOTE:  I'm assuming you have already done this right click and performed a "transfer purchases" prior to doing this "Backup" process.  After the backup process completes, right click the iPhone icon again and then click on "sync".  The sync process will start and finish and when completed, you should now have all your music as well as everything else on your iPhone as well as your iTunes library.
Hope this helps and if not, I'm sorry I couldn't help after all.  Have a good day!

  • Trouble transferring songs

Hey i have a problem transfering songs from itunes to my ipod. I have the latest version of itunes (12.1) and ipod 5, ios 8.13. whenever i attempt to manually add songs to my ipod, nothing happens. If i drag a single song under the ipod tab, it does its usual flash, but it never shows up on my ipod or recognizes a transfer through itunes. Is there an option in itunes i might've accidiently pressed that caused this? Im not sure how syncing is, but i dont want to because there are many songs i dont want on my ipod that i have on itunes.

wow.. im having the exact same problem.. like songs I have from CDs that I put on iTunes download perfectly fine.. I did everything possible and it still dosn't work.. if you figure it out let me know i have a post asking pretty much the same question. If you figure it out please tell me what you did. Thanks. • Problem transfering video to ipod......HELP PLEASE

i have put videos onto itunes(converted them using videoria)they show up on my itues and in my library but when i try to drag them onto my ipod it doesnt highlight. no response at all. i can only drag them to my "pary shuffle" i know this question has probly been answere a million times but i cant figure out what im doing wrong. im even looking in the folder that videoria saves the transfered songs. still no luck adding them to the ipod. please any feed back will help

I have had this problem, and it deals with the amount of data. It is the Average Bitrate, it should be below 500 kbps. Also try using handbrake or DVD2Pod. I use MacTheRipper to rip the DVD and DVD2oneX to size the DVD to under 4.3 Gig. Also a program that helps is DVDxDV which truns a VOB file to a movie.

  • Nano 2nd Generation, Problems with Songs ???

Hello, I have transfered songs from my iTunes to my Nano and there is 2 songs that play for couple of seconds than just stops and goes to the next song. Weird thing is when i go to play the song directly from iTunes it plays normally. I have also downloaded the songs to my Ipod Video 30gb and the same exact songs play normal with no problems. ?????? I just dont understand whats wrong. I have even did the 5 R's and restored my Nano and still the same problems with just those 2 songs. I could just go without those 2 songs but, it just makes me curious to why it works in iTunes and on my Ipod Video 30gb, but not on the Nano. If you have had this problem before or know of a solution your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for taking the time to read this...
Ipod Nano 2nd Generation   Other OS   Windows Vista

I have this exact same problem, but after doing the 5 R's it is now cutting songs short that didn't have that problem before. Unlike Junz, I can't live with random songs being cut off. I am very interested in an answer as well.

  • PC crashes when transferring songs to ipod or using itunes..

    1) Issue: When transferring songs to IPOD through the use of a PC(itunes or real player), a blue faulty screen will eventually show with some error and then my computer restarts. I have a bout 3800 songs for a 20GB IPOD and it seems to always stop around 4G when transferring. I tried using the IPOD on another computer and it seems to be fine.
    2) Also, when I play music using iTunes, it causes the PC to crash as well, without the IPOD connected.
During the error report, it usually says there is an error with the Hard Drive(Western Digital 250 SATA 2 hard drive; hard to use a jumper to adjust to the SATA 1 settings of this motherboards) and it couldn’t’ read it for a second. It advises to to a ScanDisk?CHKDSK run, but when I do this(during reboot), it stops in STEP 4 out of 5 at 20-30% and does nothing. Did this for 1 day! Other error reports supposedly report a faulty device driver error and advise to update drivers, but I’ve updates Apple iTunes.
Contacted Hard Drive manufacturer, Western Digital, and they believe it is a controller device driver issue or something related. Tried updating the bios. Tried installing the VIA 4 for 1 drivers and other drivers in the Motherboards Installation CD. Running a Disk Tools before Microsoft even shows itself, reports no errors. However, when you are partially booted and the computer is scheduled to check the disk, there are errors(won’t move.) I see no update for controller device drivers
A3) lso, if I have a USB hard drive connected to the PC(such as an IPOD or external usb hard drive), sometimes the computer switches boot devices(hard drives) and thinks that the IPOD/External Hard drive is the boot device. This is also reflected in the BIOS and the USB connected hard drive replaces my main SATA hard drive(western digital) and my computer doesn’t completely reboot unless I go under the BIOS and change it. It’s weird because I DO NOT CHANGE THE BIOS. For some reason, it changes on its own.
I have no idea what’s going on. Please Help Me.

  • Problem transferring files from PC to MP3 pla

I recently have had problems transferring music from my computer to my Zen Touch.
I am using firmware version .0.03 Zen Touch and version 2.02.05 of Creative MediaSource Organizer. I have been able to transfer files perfectly fine for years up until a few days ago. When attempting to transfer an album, I get the following two error messages:
"Error: unable to download file. This file format is invalid."
"Error: There is not enough disk space at the destination for this
    transfer."
The first error baffles me. Every file is in mp3 format and plays fine on my computer. I have no explanation as to why I am getting this error except that my Zen Touch is dieing. :-(
I have figured out the reason for the second error but I have absolutely no clue why it happens. When transferring the mp3s, the album folder grows to a ridiculous size. A 90 MB folder got changed to 9.23 GB!!!! Half of the songs on the album became -2 GBs each while the other half remained normal and completely unchanged. The songs that were greatly increased in file size still played fine on my PC however there would be 000s of minutes of static following the song.
The music already on my mp3 player still plays fine. The only problems I have been having is with the transferring of new music to the player.
So, I'm hoping someone has experienced this issue and has been able to fix it.
    Thanks.

Can anyone help me with this or should I just give up on my Zen Touch?

  • Problems with songs skipping in ITunes Library

I recently transferred my Itunes from an old PC based computer to a new PC based laptop (GateWay M Series - Windows Vista). After that I upgraded to Itunes 8.1. I am now experiencing the problem with songs in my Library skipping after about 5 seconds into the song. I have my library sorted alphabetically, sometimes after the 5 seconds it skips down 10-15 songs before it lands on one that it plays all the way through. In one instance it played all the way through on 3 songs from the same album - only to start skipping after 5 seconds into the 4th song. It doesn't happen on every song. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the types of songs this happens with - some of them were purchased songs, some were from CDs. I tried uninstalling the Library and then reinstalling - figuring that my library was corrupted. But - it is still doing it - only now it is doing it on different songs than before. Again no rhyme or reason. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what I can do to fix this!! My husband and son were able to transfer their libraries from the old PC to their new PC laptops and they haven't had this problem with their libraries!

Similar problem here, running OS X 10.5.6 and iTunes 8.1.1. Any suggestions?

  • IPod gets read/write error halfway through transfering songs

Ok, I posted the other day about a read write error on my iPod. I got it replaced. New one didn't work on my home computer but I did get it up and running on my laptop at work. When I got home I plugged the iPod into my home computer. Everthing was fine (I have it on manually update). When I tried to put music files on my iPod (drag and drop) I did one and it worked fine. Then I highlighted a group and dragged it over. They were transfering. Then halfway through I got the read write error.
Can anyone explain why this would happen? Why did it work for a little bit and then refuse to keep transfering songs? Do I have to do them one at a time when I manually update? I basically had to restore the iPod when I got to work this morning. Things are fine now. It would be a pain (but still bearable) if I can't use my iPod at home.

Can anyone explain why this would happen? Why did it work for a little bit and then refuse to keep transfering songs?
The problem could be one of mnay mentioned in the link below. A complete Reformat of the IPOD using Windows would be a great start and then "restore" the IPODs software. The drive on the IPOD seems to get corrupted at some point and this is the best way I have found to get rid of the problem.
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring i
