X300 and selecting WWAN network

Hi
I'm using X300 and i have unlocked WWAN chip in it. I'm wondering, how can i change the network i'm using. It automatically selects the 3G network and i haven't found any place to change it. Furthermore, is there any better program for 3G control than the access connections. The access connections doesn't seem to be that well suited for 3G use.
The 3G network works fine in my home country Finland, where it selects the correct network always. But when i'm abroad, i want to select networks from many different providers, and access connections doesn't seem to have that kind of option. I've used globetrotter before and there was this list where you could select the network.

Assuming you have a Sierra Wireless WAN card, try their 3G Watcher.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

  • Memory error when selecting a network printer in print dialogue

    Hello,
    I have the following situation:
Adobe Acrobat 9.0 was installed with a 30-days trial together with Adobe Reader 9.1.3
    Worked perfectly
I uninstalled the trial and got Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 installed.
From this point on, whenever I open the print dialogue and select a network printer, the application crashes with an memory violation
The instruction at x referenced at y. The memory could not be read.
This happens in Acrobat Pro as well as Adobe Reader.
If the trial worked and the Pro does not, do I have to clean the system somehow before installing the full version?
    Thank you

    Hi JeffWilko,
    What is your current situation?
To receive better analyzation, please provide more details?
    1. Could you explain a bit about the sentence ‘installing multiple printers from the portal’ ?
    2. Check the event viewer and share us the related error log.
Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Ping the printers
    2. Check if there are network firewall to block the access

  • Keeps asking for Select a certificate or enter a name and password for network

everytime i start my mac it asks for "Select a certificate or enter a name and password for network" and when i'll close it and reopen it, it still asks.
can somebody help with what am i suppose to do?

If you are currently showing WiFi status in the menu bar, you would see this icon:
If you see that near the top right corner, click it and choose "Join other network" from the drop down list.
If you do not see that icon, then go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar), ciick "Network", then choose "WiFi" and choose something (probably "Assist me" at the bottom) there.

  • Ipod won't let me into wifi at all not even to select a network. It's been like this ever since I restored my Ipod 4g and it will not let me do anything, not even download music to my ipod, restoring it also lost all of my data

I knew that I needed to update my Ipod (4th gen) but it randomly stopped using the wifi and when I would go into "wi-fi" under "settings" the loading wheel would not stop spinning yet there are 5 wi-fi networks around me. Then I turn my ipod off, then on again and when it turned on it had an icon that was the itunes logo and a usb cord and that was it.. so I plugged my ipod into my computer got onto Itunes and it said that I needed to restore my ipod. I knew that all my data would be lost but now I can't even go into the wifi settings to select a network... it has the wi-fi connection icon(the little arcs) then "Wi-Fi" then across the bar thing it says "No Wi-Fi" I don't understand.. I do have Wi-Fi or else I wouldn't be able to type this on a computer....
How do I hook up the wifi network selections to my ipod???

    If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Then
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why do I have to select my network using Network Diagnostics every time I turn on my MacBook Pro and go to Safari?

Every time I turn on my MacBook Pro, before I can use any programs that access the internet (i.e. iTunes, iBank, etc), I have to go into Safari where it prompts me to perform network diagnostics.  (I use a wep encrypted wireless network.)
During network diagnostics, I select my network and at some point it tells me that my network appears to be working properly and then defaults to the Apple.com webpage.  I then Quit network diagnostics and exit Safari and then I am fine to do whatever I need to in the other programs.
This is quite annoying and I wish it would just remain on my network without me having to do this every time I turn it on.  Is there some thing I can do or some setting that I am missing that would allow me to avoid this?

    Is your network hidden? See:
    WiFi, Internet problems, possible solutions
    Secure your network
WiFi security issues, at home and WiFi hotspots
Change the name of the network and the password, then connect manually and when it asks to save in Keychain do so.
If it's still giving problems and it'a not the router, it's the computer, then go through this list.

    Any ideas what to do?

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.

  • HT4628 No matter what I do after selecting my network, when I put the computer to sleep it reopens saying that no network is selected.  I have applied the appropriate network and locked the selection as well as restarted the computer (a windows habit).

I cannot get this imac to save selected newtwork preference (tried apply and locking the selection to no avail).  My other imac maintains the selection without a problem using the same airport.  The connection works immediately after re-selecting the network from a list of "neighborhood" networks that I have never used.  But once I "sleep" the mac, the dialog states:  no network selected.

Thank you BGreg.  That is what I have been doing, and then it works just fine.  I think it was doing the same thing in the previous version of Lion.  I may be incorrect about that.  I upgraded to 10.7.3 a few weeks ago, and then last week I reloaded the combo update, hoping it would help.  Not so.  Thank you for letting me know it is a common problem.  I have tried permissions in Disk Utilities, and in Macaroni, both at least 4 times, plus numerous restarts.  Nothing Improves.  It still can not find the internet when it wakes up or gets up.

  • When i open any mail its telling me to select a network never have seen this before and wi fi not connected

    anyone around ?

Have you changed your WiFi password?
Just back into settings and connect to your WiFi network.
Settings > WiFI > Select your network > Enter password
You can also turn off the Ask to Join Networks notifications in the same menu at the bottom below
"Ask to Join Networks" switch to Off.
So if you're not connected you'll have to go in and connect yourself if it's not a known network.
If you've never connected using a WiFi network hit cancel and continue to use your Cell Signal/Data plan to access your email.

  • Need help planning wireless home network and selecting hardware

I run a music teaching business from home and currently I just have an iMac, an HDTV, a printer and an external HD (for Time Machine backups). My computer and peripherals are in a small study and my TV is in the front room where I now teach. I want to set up a wireless network which will let me do the following:
    1) Access either my iMac's HD and/or my external drive's HD to retrieve and display documents and run applications from the front room, where my TV is located.
    2) Use my HDTV as an extension of my iMac so that what happens on my iMac displays on my TV, including accessing the printer and other input devices that may be attached.
What hardware will I need for this besides an Aiport (Extreme?) base station, and how would I hook everything up wirelessly, specifically my TV? If I connect Apple TV to my TV via HDMi will I be able to do what I've stated above, and access my applications as well as music and photos? If not, what's the alternative? A Mac Mini connected via HDMi? Won't that make my iMac's HD redundant to the above scenario?
Hope someone can help me sort this out.

    Hi there,
It sounds like what you want to do is basically use your HDTV as a monitor for your computer. Devices like AppleTV will not run apps nor show the screen of other computers; for that you need some kind of VNC software (either free or something like Back to my Mac) AND a second computer hooked up to the HDTV. So you're looking at a Mac Mini and an Airport network to connect the two, then a wireless mouse and keyboard to control it. And even then, you may want to just open documents on the mini so you'll need to have a system of syncing between the two Macs if you need to access the same docs on the iMac later.
If you don't want a second Mac then you could use a mini display port to HDMi adapter and a really long HDMI run up to your HDTV, and then hope that a Bluetooth keyboard would still be in range to control the iMac (30 ft or less I believe). That's cheaper, but you have the long cable to contend with.

  • SOLUTION TO Time Capsule and extend wireless network using AEBS, Printers..

    Hello GUYS
I find the solution: at least I have extended wireless using TC and old AEBS.
: well everybody have same problems to initialize second AEBS, and set it up.
    OK follow this steps:
put next to each other TC (time capsule) and AEBS (airport extreme) -> switch AEBS off
If you followed installation TC correctly it should work without any problem.
    SETING UP TC PART 1
pres in finder Command + Shift + U =then click Airport utility
    set your TC with manual.
On piece of paper record Airport ID:
    Click on TIME CAPSULE
I recommend change name not to use deffault long name for TC. Simply call it TC if you want. Set password.
In wireless. Write a name of your Network, keep it simple TC627 what ever. Write it down on paper. security WPA2 personal and password.
    Update. and close utility
    End of part 1
    Part 2:
    AEBS setup.
Switch AEBS on: No need to switch off TC
Press reset button for more than 5 sec. so everything is restore to factory settings.
-> in the bar top click wireless and select AEBS. You have to do this otherwise Airport utility will not recognise AEBS.
When you are done. Command shift U
Click airport utility. and manual setup.
-> write down the Airport ID.
Set up your AEBS, name something simple so you know what it is. Password and security.
Here do yourself favor use the same passwords as on TC and security.
    NOW ->
    click Wireless.
*Wireless network has to be same as on TC.*( it is on the paper)
    Select Participate in wireless network
Radio mode b,g compatible or only N it is up to you.
I setup WPA2Personal again with the same password( same on TC)
    Click WDS
    Select WDS remote
    select Allow wireless clients
and now write the TC airport ID into WDS main: number (it is on your paper)
    Update.
    switch off utility.
no go to right top and change airport back to TC.
    Go to manual
    Click Wireless:
    Select Participate in WDS Network
Click WDS: wds mode to Main
allow wireless clients: and write into WDS remotes AEBS ID, (it is on the paper).
    and update.
    both airports will restart.
    and you are extended.
You made it. Go to Utility Cmd,shift, U and you should be able to see both airports.
Now what you have to do is to take AEBS to different place.
Put it somewhere in second room. Go back to your computer. Leave it for couple of minutes. 10 -15 is ok.
to make sure your TC can find AEBS. If not TC will indicate by flashing green and orange. = >AEBS has to be closer.
correct is that TC has still green light.
Before you start with time machine: read what files to include
    hope it helps.
