X300 ThinkPad change default BIOS brightness level

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can change the default brightness to maximum so that in BIOS and at boot time I can see the display while I am in a room with lots of natural light?
It bother me a lot as while I boot or enter in BIOS I can't increase the brightness from keyboard till the OS software drivers are not loaded.
Please let me know.

Welcome to the forum!
Have you tried adjusting your display settings in BIOS, should be under "configuration">"display" and then "brightness"... set it to "high", press F10 to save and exit.
Then you can decrease it when running the OS if you need to.
BTW, your battery life will be affected by this.

Change default Calendar sharing level

Hi.
I'm trying to find a way of how to change the default sharing level of new users calenders. I have looked at the sharing policies but it seems to me that those are only for sharing outside the organization, at least I can't find a way of how to get these
working inside the organization.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way for me to set the default sharing level of all newly created users calenders automatically?

Hi,
By default, when we create a new user inside organization, Exchange will apply the default sharing policy to this new user automatically. We can check the default sharing policy by the following steps.
Logon EAC, navigate to organization > sharing.
Under Individual Sharing, select the default sharing a policy, and then click
Edit.
In sharing policy, check the box of Make this policy my default sharing policy.
You can use the same way to edit the default sharing policy.

Changing default editor system level [solved]

I want to make a system wide change to the editor all i can find is things that tell me to export EDITOR=nano https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=108167 this is related but the package obviously doesnt exist anyone able to help out here the VI editor opening constantly is rather irritating my fav console editor is nano
i guess i should say that im looking for a suitable alternative for this program or at least the file that stores that setting LOL

Ergonomic Brightness Level for Late 2009 iMac 27" i7

Hi. Apple seems to default the brightness level to full when you buy it and I've read some iMacs flicker unless it's brightness level is set to full bright. For the late iMac 2009 27" i7, what's do experts say about ergonomic brightness level for this Mac, for LED LCDs? I won't be doing professional printing by the way. Thank you in advance.

I set mine to something between 50-70% of the max depending on the time of day and the amount of sunshine.
No buzzing at all.

New iMac brightness level keeps changing (auto adjust NOT checked)

Just got a new 27 inch iMac and keep on having to change the brightness level back to the brightness I prefer.
I do not have auto adjust checked, I put the brightness slider up to the level I like and after a while the brightness dims to what seems like the default level as its always down to the same spot on the slider...what gives? i just want it to stay where I want it...

I have same problem, of autobrightness being unchecked and my brightness going from full to about 3/4 bright
all by itself. I had that problem, then flickering of my screen also was taking place. I didn't bring my unit into Apple
because this autobrightness thing plus flickering would not happen on command,, and I wouldn't be able to show them properly. Well , finally my left side of the screen dimmed,, and that was the go ahead to bring it in to them
to show the left side of screen. I also told them about the flickering,, and the autobrightness, which I figured played a role into the final left side dimming. They replaced the backlight and the display LCD on warranty.
I have had it for about 5 days. The screen is equally lit (as should be), however, I discovered that my same old
problem of autobrightness, is slipping back to 3/4. So most of you have autobrightness problem in a sort of different way. I set mine to "torch" because my downstairs bedroom is dim (with one overhead light), but sometimes, just plain dark,, so I want to sometimes keep it at torch,, however, it still slips back. You would
almost think that if my surronding was dim or dark, that it would stay on torch if the autobrightness was really working properly. Go figure. I just tried SMC a short while ago,, I had tried, before my repair doing PRAM and the other one (I think VRAM). I also will unhook my second monitor to see if that is having an impact on things.
Do any of you in this post have a second monitor attached,, and have you tried unhooking it to see if the problem
is resolved?

Brightness levels reset to default on restart

I'm using iBooks & find it frustrating that if I change the brightness level, the new level is not remembered & find it reverts to the default level each time I re-open I-books. Perhaps this issue could be rectified at a future version revision?

Try completely closing out of iBooks: from the Home screen double tap the Home button, once the multitask bar appears hold down on the iBooks icon until it starts to jiggle, press the red icon in the corner to close out of iBooks. Now restart the iPad and see if this might help resolve the brightness issue.
Alternatively instead of a restart you could perform a Reset once you close iBooks. Reset: hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake button at the same time for ~10sec, ignore the Slide to Power Off, the iPad will then Reset, Note: No data is lost during a Reset.

Brightness levels change while using Apple TV

The brightness levels change on my TV screen every few minutes while I'm watching my Apple TV. It happens with "Internet" sources (like Netflix and Vimeo) and "Computer" sources like iPhoto for sure. Maybe the other sources as well. Any clues?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check that the HDMI cable is correctly seated at both ends.
Try disconnecting the cable and connecting it again.
Try another HDMI cable.
Try the Apple TV with another TV

For applications that are sending deeply nested object graphs over the wire and that bump up against this limit, the limit can be increased but you should also do testing to make sure that serializing/deserializing these deeply nested object graphs doesn't cause stack overflow errors.

Brightness levels decreased after installing 10.6.2

My computer came with Snow Leopard (it's the 13" Macbook Pro) and after installing the upgrade from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2 I noticed that the brightness decreased dramatically. I don't think it has anything to do with gamma as I tried to adjust that and it didn't really make that big a difference. I have now increased the brightness but I still think there might be something wrong with my laptop because I don't know if the update could decrease the brightness levels as they were the default levels, I hadn't changed them... It would seem strange somehow... I did install the update when I didn't have the computer connected to a power source, could that have caused this? Could installing the update again help? Or could I uninstall it somehow? This is my first Mac so I'm rather clueless about everything...

yes, that was most likely it. and a bad idea it was on your part. never do that again. if the computer runs out of power in the middle of an update this can brick your system and require a reinstall.

you don't need to do anything. the brightness was reduced automatically during the update to conserve energy.

Our requirement is to display the report output in .rtf or .xls(Not required to defaultly as .rtf or .xls).
we are getting the following error.

How to change default approval for ResourceAuthorizerApproval ?

I'am new in OIM and I follow documentation where I found some predefined workflows. I'd like to use them.
Could you tell me, step by step, how to change default approval for ResourceAuthorizerApproval (only for my new defined resource).
I'm using OIM 11g and Design Console 11.1.1.3.0.2.0

Ok, I made new tamplate (copy of existing one), there I changed Template Level Approval Process and set allowed resources. It seems to be ok :)

Unresolved bug in adobe reader x with non-default windows zoom level

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Firefox 12.0 and Adobe Reader 10.1.3. Here is a description of the problem:
Whenever I open any PDF file in a browser (firefox or IE) using the adobe reader I am unable to select text, save the file or interact with the content in any meaningful way because the plugin does not recognise my cursor position. If I click on some text in a PDF document, the reader will immediately highlight a region of text between where I clicked and where it thinks I started clicking from (above 20% of the screen above and to the left of where I actually clicked on the page). If I roll my mouse over the region where the dashboard normally appears, the dash does appear as intended and the cursor changes in response to hover over buttons, as if everything were working, but I am unable to click on anything (clicking does nothing). If I click and hold the dashboard when it appears, it immediately jumps to another region of the page, as if it thinks I moved the mouse (20% up and to the left again). I have recently reformatted and am now using a fresh install, and the issue remains. My desktop zoom level in windows is 150%. The problem appears only inside the browser; viewing PDFs directly in Acrobat Reader X works without issue.
I can resolve the problem either of two ways:
a) Reverting back to the default windows zoom level (125%).
b) right-clicking on the Adobe Reader X icon, navigating to the compatibility tab and clicking "Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings"
The workaround is easy but it's disappointing that adobe hasn't fixed this. Please consider that it would mostly affect individuals who are vision impaired and might not have the know-how to resolve the problem or check for solutions online, let alone post comments such as this. As far as I can tell this problem severely impaires the functionality of adobe in any browser on any non-standard zoom windows installation.
