X301 WiFi disconnections random
Lenovo X301
I have just purchased 2 x Lenovo X301's Model 2776-LEG and downgraded to XP SP2. The Laptops cost over £1,500 each !.
The Wifi card is a Intel 5300. The laptop connects to my access unit fine and I can use the internet for a good 1 to 2 hours fine without any issues.
At random times after this it will disconnect from the Router / Access unit. I then use the ThinkVantage Access Connections to Connect again to my WiFi and it works again for a few hours, and then disconnects again. I have disabled all Power saving features, in Control Panel, and also on the network adapter as far as I can see. I changed my Dlink Access units, and have just purchased a Linksys Wireless -N wap4400N access unit to see if this helps, but no success still disconnects
I spoke with 1st line Lenovo helpdesk who advised to upgrade .Net Framework to 3.50 which was a big mistake, Laptop went very very slow afterwards , and had to uninstall and keep at .net 3.0. I have also updated Access connections to 5.21 and no difference. I am awaiting Lenovo 2nd Tier support to call me back to see what else I can do.
Q1: Is anyone else suffering from the same issue ?
Q2: I see Intel have a later 5300 driver, and want to know if anyone installed it without any issues, and did it fix the disconnection issue ?
Q3: Why are Lenovo sending out £1,500 laptops that have not been fully tested fully with both hardware and software !!!!.
I have AVG 8.5 Installed, and BeCrypt dat protection software , which in the past have not caused problems with Lenovo T60 and T61 laptops
A very Annoyed customer !!!!!!
I´m having the same problems. I bought this fancy X200 machine for my wife and it´s driving her mad. It disconnects randomly like you describe and I have reinstalled the operating system (XPpro), tried a different router, done the things mentioned above and even changed the IP. I took it to the dealer for a checkup but they could not find enything and charge me for it so now I´m looking at selling this crap(if I can find somebody that I really don´t like) and get her a HP like I´m using.
I thougt I was buying quality but I have only got a crap machine and crap service. If somebody here can come up with a solution or even just an explanation I´d like to hear it.
Good luck to ya all

I m using Macbook Air 2013 model, recently i m facing wifi disconnection problem on my mac. It keeps disconnect for few mins and reconnect automatically. And this disconnecting & reconnecting continues for regular interval (5 mins once). Its really make me irritating and need ur help to sort out this issue..
Network preferences may be corrupted ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
See if that makes a difference.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

ProBook 6570b, Broadcom WiFi disconnects randomly.
Dear Friends!
My ProBook 6570b is dropping WiFi connection with a router randomly.
WiFi adapter: Broadcom BCM943228HM4L 802.11a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi Adapter
OS: Windows 8.1
Router: TP Link N600 (TL-WDR3600)
It happends this way.
After some time being online network apps like Skype or VPN Client report that network was lost.
Then the Windows icon that idicates network status shows a yellow exclamation mark.
Then if I click that Icon I see that my Wifi network has "Limited" label below the AP name.
To restore the connection I need to Disconnect from WiFi AP manually and then connect again.
When "Limited" or disconnected I also cannot access my router (pinging 192.168.0.1 fails) so I'm sire that this is wifi issue between laptop and router. At the same time all other devices are working properly. I even recorded a small screen video of how it happends, with comments: https://youtu.be/C96XtgzA9rw
There is one more strange thing. There is a checkbox "Connect automatically" in Windows Networks panel. Even if I click it before connecting it does not save its state - after connection fails again the checkbox is not checked again.
One important note is that there are four more WiFi client devices in a room using the same router without issues.
I spent much time trying to fix it but still nothing. What I did in total:
1. Tried different drivers. Currently I have version 6.30.223.170 from HP site (the latest one)
2. Replaced an adapter with a new one. The same model. Nothing changed.
3. Always install all Windows Updates it offers. Both required and optional.
4. Added my MAC address to address reservation list on a router to minimise address re-issuing.
5. Disabled Power-Off option for the adapter
6. Reset TCP/IP settings with netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
Please help to find out the solution.Dear All!
Is there anyone who could help to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance. -
Iphone 4s wifi disconnects randomly and setting page freezes when trying to enter wifi networks
After the Ios 7.0.3 update, this started happening. I'm using wifi then suddenly it disconnects from it, and when I go to scan for wifi, the setting page freezes upon touching the wifi network and it crashes. and when It doesn't lfreeze, I can't see any wifi network although the router is within 5 feet from my location. after some time the wifi comes back again for 10 minutes and then it does the same thing.
Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, then try joining again and you should get the password prompt.

IPhone 5 wifi disconnecting randomly since iOS 7.1 install
Since updating recently to iOS 7.1 my iPhone 5 has decided it will only connect to a wifi network if I'm within 2-3 metres of the router. My iPad hasn't been updated to iOS 7.1 and still works as it did, and my wifes iPhone 4 hasn't been updated either and that still works fine.
I use my iPhone for work as well - it links via a wifi signal to a camera which I can then operate from my iPhone. I attach the camera to a pole which is then extended up to roof height to do roof surveys with. Problem is that the wifi signal drops once the camera is extended any further than 2-3 metres (making roof surveys impossible now) which suggests to me that it's not a router issue but more a problem since the iOS 7.1 update. The wifi link with the camera worked perfectly prior to the update. I've tried colleagues phones (not updated to 7.1 yet) and they all work fine so I'm convinced that it's the phones wifi that's the problem.
I've reset the network settings, didn't make any difference. I've reset the phone using the home button/screen off button and that didn't work either.
I've just backed up the iPhone again so I guess the next step is a full factory reset?
My nearest Apple store is close to 100 mile round trip so taking it into a store isn't ideal.
Any other thoughts? Seems there's a lot of others having the same issue, anyone managed to find a fix for this hugely inconvenient issue yet?You should reset your router before doing anything else. Just unplug it for 30 seconds, then try to connect to it again.

After updating 8.1 , wifi still randomly disconnect sometimes. It never happened to me when i had iphone 4. That's really hard to accept.
Is it worth 900 dollars for a smartphone that has so many issues ? After 3 updates? After 1 month? I wasted 2 gb of mobile internet cause of ios 8.
And battery is terrible.same here, iphone 6 plus 64 gb.
additionally in 5 ghz networks the wifi connection is very slow or there is no data transfer possible ( the wifi icon is already there and in a good status) other devices hasn't any problems in that network -
Wifi is randomly disconnecting and won't let me reconnect
After updating my iphone to the latest version of iOS, my wifi disconnects EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT. When I wake up in the morning, it's not connected. Then, when I go to wi-fi, it shows my network, but no others. When I try to connect to my network, it asks for my password, even though it's stored. When I enter my password, it asks for my password again. Here's what I've tried so far:
1.) Forget network and then connect again. Sometimes it won't let me because it tells me that my password is incorrect, which it isn't.
2.) Turn phone off and on again. This worked once or twice, but that's it.
3.) Connect to itunes. Again, this worked a couple of times, but the problem happens again that night.
4.) Reset to factory settings. I've done this TWICE. I've wiped out everything and started over. But that night, it happens again.
5.) I've done everything listed here: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - Apple Support
Sometimes these things will work to get my wifi up and running again, but then when I wake up the next morning, I have to start all over. This is ridiculous. I had zero issues until I downloaded the recent update and now I have to go through a long, frustrating process every single morning just to get wifi??Mine is the one at the top... it seems pretty unique, especially when there are no others like it in my range. Also, I never had an issue with it until just about ten days ago or so.

G700 random wifi disconnections
Hi,
I have a G700 with windows 8 and I have noticed many wifi disconnections, from my home but also from other places where I can connect. So I'm know sure that it is not a problem with my home wifi connection...
I have just a few knowledge about windows 8 and don't know exactly what to do to fix this problem...
thank you for your helphi Missparker

Constant Wifi Disconnect After Moving To SystemD
Hi All,
I used netcfg for months with a WPA2 connection using the initscripts. I finally moved to systemD. I was getting dbus errors from systemD using systemctl so updated via pacman which fixed the errors. I did this within minutes apart so not for sure if a kernel update broke something - stupid move on my part.
Any how I followed the wiki guide for netcfg, within a few minutes and after a reboot was happily working away. I configured the wifi like so:
systemctl enable netcfg@gloryhole
Then the wifi disconnecting started at random intervals but very quickly, what seems to be less than 3 minutes.

After reading some forums they recommended net-auto-wireless.
systemctl enable net-auto-wireless
Still no luck, another forum recommended removing netcfg and trying some thing else, since they had constant disconnects. I installed wicd and disabled services that could conflict with wicd. Disconnect problem still exists
I verified hardware is OK, in windoze wifi card works great, pulled down many gigs with no problem testing. My laptop has native systemD install with wicd and works great so nothing with my AP.

First thing first I disabled WPA2 on the AP and let it wide open, even though every other device was working. Was hoping to rule out wpa but instead it got worse.
I first tried netcfg, after removing everything I could find on wicd. The issue with netcfg is I could connect but couldn't surf. A little testing showed that there is a problem with the wifi link established. It won't allow much or any traffic to go through. Pings barely work, surfing was hit and miss.
I decided to just connect via cli, once again removed netcfg, wicd, removed any trace files, disabled related services and rebooted to remove previous entries.

Interesting thing is I am getting a different deauthenticating reason, originally was 2. Deauthenticated reason=3 means "deauthenticated because sending STA is leaving (or has left) IBSS or ESS The access point went offline, deauthenticating the client" or AP went offline, which it did not. (src: http://www.aboutcher.co.uk/2012/07/linu … on-codes/).
Keep in mind I run my house on the same wifi so if anything went down somebody always tracks me down to fix it. Also my ISP link is not the problem as I was downloading at the same time and not saturating my pipe. At this point I think it is just easier to run a cable under the house and mount a jack. Ideas? -
Macbook Pro Late 2011 (Yosemite) Wifi Disconnecting
Hi apple community,
I've recently purchased a 2nd hand refurbished macbook off Ebay.
This is my first Mac computer in my possession (I've used them at friends, school etc though)
and I love it but...
The wifi keep disconnecting randomly when my phone signal goes (I tether my phone to get internet).
Is there any setting to make it always stay connected to my wifi whatever the reception of my phone?
Thanks for reading!
ps. My phone is on the right next to be (so no wall is stopping it)

Did anyone buy a MacBook Pro Retina 13" from Best Buy this Black Friday?
I'm having an issue where the WiFi disconnects after the MacBook wakes from sleep but only after a couple of minutes.
Once the WiFi disconnects, I can't reconnect to the same network and sometimes it won't find nearby networks.
I have to turn off the WiFi and wait for at least 5 seconds before turning it back on for it to auto-reconnect to my home network.
If I wait less than 5 seconds, it will continue to attempt connection to the home network but won't connect.
I've tried reformatting and deleting my network configurations as well as resetting my modem, power cycling it, etc.
I am using 2Wire Gateway modem/router from AT&T on b/g network.
I've tried connecting to a friend's network under Time Warner Cable and the same issue occurs.
I exchanged the MacBook at a Best Buy for a brand unopened one (I hope) and the same exact thing happens with this new one.
Really, I can't be the only one with this issue. Unless in a 0.00001% chance I received two defective units in a row?
Please.. does anyone have a clue why this is happening? You're definitely not the only one. I have the same issue. I spent 6 hours over multiple days on the phone with Apple support trying a variety of things (some of which are mentioned above), and none of them worked. They finally sent me a replacement laptop. I made sure to try it periodicaly as I was moving files and installing applications to see if I ran into it again and things seemed okay at first but now I am running into the same issue and it is terribly annoying. I've got 5 other devices that connect to the same router and I've never had this issue with any of them.
My router is a Linksys E2000. I haven't tried changing the router channel but I have tried to cnnecting to other networks in the building I live in and I have run into the same issue there. -
After logging into my wifi connection, which does take some time to do.
Why does my wifi disconnect after not using my computer for a few minutes?
I am on osx lion 10.7.5Computer entering sleep mode after few minutes?

So it's like I want to continue watching a movie from external drive and then player crashes because my hard disk partitions got unmounted...
I'm wondering if it can happen because disk is underpowered (it's connected only to one USB port because I lost my original USB cable which had two USB plugs). Anyway it would be strange as problem occurs also when disk is 'idle' so then the power consumption is also lower I assume. I can only say this disk was working just fine when used as internal drive. Any ideas?
Last edited by jakub (2015-02-22 20:08:50)Your recommendation to check cable was just - a good recommendation I played a little bit with the B connector and disk immediately stopped working. OMG it was so simple ;p Thanks. I have to buy a new cable (I hope the case is all right).
EDIT:
Confirmed with portable mp3 player. Cable (B connector) is damaged.
I just won't delete this thread as it's a perfect example to show that basic stuff and simplest things should be always checked first !

My WiFi crashes randomly and I need to reboot to get it working again
So I got my Macbook Pro 15" late 2011 repaired two weeks ago. After that the Laptop worked okay and after a few days I upgraded to 10.9.3 (from 10.9.1) and now my WiFi crashes randomly. It just stopes working. It doesn't find the network anymore and if I try to switch it of and on again, it won't go on anymore. The only way to fix this is to reboot the whole machine. This happens pretty randomly.
Currently I don't know if the repairs (Apple switched the logic board) is the problem or if there is a bug in the Mac OS that creates this.
Has anyone else have the same issue on their Mac OS 10.9.3 ? How do I find out if this is hardware related? Rebooting helps, so for me this is not an obvious hardware failure, but what do I know
BodoIs it Wifi or USB?
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & the Startup right after that for clues. -
My Airport Extreme disconnects randomly when USB disk is attached, I have searched this forum but found now obvious solution.
The Airport Extreme has the latest firmware.
Since the airdisk solution is quite useless at this time, I would kindly accept any kind of help .....thanks
SieberLen61 got my reply, I have copied below.
Hi - I have been on the phone with support 4X since late December - all good calls. They have been scratching their heads on this issue.
I have 2 printers and 2 drives on the airport -recent experieinces = printers have always behaved, drives have appeared / vanished / "drive needs repair" and it's just fine...
Cutting out the interim fixes, here are the simple but important solutions and everything has been stable for days now.
* rolled back to AEBS firmware 7.1.1
* replaced the passive USB hub with a powered hub ** This is when joy arrived
* make sure your drive has a block size of 512
You can run guest mode however you want, since adding the new hub, it hasn't mattered.
I haven't been brave enough to upgrade firmware to 7.2.1
cheers
