X4150 CPU Error

Hello All!
I have brand new SunFire X4150 Server and when i powerup the system i get this message:
"Error (0160) Processor missing microcode"
"Error (0161) Processor missing microcode"
"Error (0162) Processor missing microcode"
"Error (0163) Processor missing microcode"
Press F1 to continue, F2 Enter to setup
When i press F1 the system work fine, even when i run PC-Check everything is normal.
I tried to upgrade the bios and still i have the same message.
I have to mention, when i enter to bios settings under the CPU i have this message:
"Stepping: unsupported processor"
Can anyone help me with this strange error?
Best Regards
RgGolbraich

I got the same error when I tried to use the shipped v1.0 x4150 tools and drivers cd. I selected option 3 (advanced), which was to update the system and keep configs. The BIOS looked bare and didn't have any of the default serials numbers entered.
I was able to fix the problem by downloading the v1.1 iso and applying that update with option 2 (default) instead of 3. The BIOS showed serial numbers and booted up correctly.

  • Pro Tools CPU Error Message

I'm running Pro Tools on a store-bought iMac G5 with a CPU speed of 1.8GHz and I am getting an error message that is stopping me from recording multiple tracks. Or, at times, after I've recorded a number of tracks, I've been rudely halted by the CPU Error message at a time when I am trying to burn a CD on iTunes. Anybody have any ideas how to get my CPU to devote all its power to Pro Tools or how else I can get by this nasty problem?

Best thing to do is to go to duc.digidesign.com and describe (in detail) exactly what you're using (ProTools hardware, software, OS version) and exactly what the error messages are.

  • KT2 Combo D-Link Indicated CPU Error

    I'm having problems with a new KT2 Combo-L board.
The board powers up (CPU fan spins), but I get no POST, no beeps, no video.  The D-Link LEDs indicate a CPU error.
The only items on the board are:
-128 MB PC133 RAM Stick (tried 2 diff sticks)
-An old 16MB 3DForce AGP card (which I know works)
--I've previously tried 3 different AGP cards
Both the board and CPU (AMD Athlon XP) are newly purchased.

You sent me a mail and this is my answer, i hope it helps
Disconect the Main power cable, power must be off
Reset the bios of the board , Jumper JBAT1. Instructions found in the
    Manual Page 2-24
Be shure that there no short-circuit with the mounting screws of the
case or any other screws from the case on the back of the board.
Best, take the Board out of the case and put in flat on a table, put
it  on paper or cork, be carefull of electrostatic power.
Put only one RAM into the slot
put Only the graficcard in the board , nothing else
If you have a D-Braket  (page 1-8) connect it to the board and have a look what the Lamps want say to you.
If Power is good, I Think now there are only 3 possibilites
    1. CPU defective, test it on another Mainboard
    or
    2. RAM defective or wrong type, test it on another Mainboard
    or
    3. Graficcard defective, test it on another Mainboard

That excerpt is actually too brief to make anything but a guess.
It's some sort of ecache data parity problem, reported by cpu core #533.
It's probably an issue in the following ecache RAM:
/N0/SB5/P1/E1 J5300With that many processor cores, the system is expensive enough to likely be covered by a service contract.
Open a support case. Be expected to gather such information as a full Explorer report.
Start your consultation with the Hardware team in techsupport, though you may get transferred to the Kernel group.
If they find it is a hardware issue, then a systemboard will need to be replaced.
If they find the issue is that you're just downrev on your patching, you'll have to apply a full patch bundle to get better error trapping and ecache clearing.

cpu#3 is telling you it has noticed a problem with the DIMM in slot 1801.
The probability of it being serious, is a 5% chance (Score 05).
Since it is a Correctible Event, ( <CE> ) you should monitor the system,
until it becomes an Uncorrectible Event ( <UE> ).
Then you can replace that memory module.
.... or just replace it now and be done with it.

  • MSI kt400 and xp2400 cpu error

    Hello all,
Can somebody give me some advice on how to get my MSI Kt400 to recognize an XP 2400 cpu?  At first the motherboard was recongizing the cpu fine.  I was in windows xp and everything.  Then my system began shutting down on it's own while in windows XP.  It would reboot itself and the LED would display the 4 red lights meaning "error initializing CPU".  After uninstalling the CPU several times, I naturally thought I had burnt my CPU.  Well I purchased another CPU and when I carefully installed this one...it gave me the same 4 red LED lights.
I've already returned this board once to MSI for memory problems now I'm having CPU issues.  Can someone please give me a solution to this problem.  If all else fails is it possible that I may request another RMA for this board.  I've had it since December and I haven't been able to get it up and running yet.
    PLEASE SHED SOME GREEN LIGHT!
    Desperate user,
    J

    here is a stupid one:
is cmos jumper in its place? or in wrong place?
and i did read last year how someone did pull off the cpu and try to boot copmuter in order to fix some problem with cpu, - someone might remember this maybe and tell you more as i dont remember, it was something strange thats why i remembered and now im wondering what it was  ?(
    PS
am sure it should be something simple u just need to cool down and have another look - good luck man  )

  • How to detect CPU error in SMP system?

I want to monitor if the CPU is working properly in real-time, especially at SMP system. My goal is to build a program that shows "CPU n is working properly" and if one is down, showing "CPU n down".
Is there pre-defined C function I can use? Or is there better one?

I think that kstat() does such a function, but for SMP system, how does it work? Is there a certain way to specify CPU?

     try clearing the cosmos
make sure the power plug is turned of
do not turn back on till jumper is in the original position again
note were jumper is well as manual is normally wrong
if it still refuses try again but also remove the battery and leave over night, again put it all back before turning the power back on
after that conntact msi for a new bios chip
ive a feeling they wil need a few

Check the ports of Web services and those of BPEL, as Hambo have different communication ports.
Normally Webservices point to the port 8080 and BPEL to 18181 or 9084.
    Check and I accounts.
    Greetings.

  • 1 blink led error code or not?

On my dv7, I'm getting what appears to be error code 1, 1 blink which means cpu failure. I am not sure however if it is 1 blink or just blinking forever. It goes 1 blink, 1.5 seconds pass another blink and it keeps doing this forever, it does not stop. I would just like confirmation if this is 1 blink or not?

well based on what you said if there is an interval of 1.5 seconds and if its the capslock/numlock which is blinking then yes thats for the CPU ERROR. Try checking with hp tech maybe your still in warranty..

  • COMPAQ CQ61z-300 CPU

I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ-61z-300 that I think has a bad CPU. Won't boot up at all. When power is turned on the fan runs but the COMPAQ flash screen does not appear. CAPS LOCK and NUM lights flash once, which tells me CPU error. What I need is info on the CPU. Manual only shows INTEL CPU's, but here is an AMD 'VISION' sticker next to the mouse pad. I need the info so I can try and order one. Info for this computer is not available online because it is a 'CTO' and I cannot get the info from the computer itself because it is dead. Any help would be appreciated.

Odds are strong it is not the CPU but the motherboard. CPUs very rarely fail but motherboards fail frequently. The motherboard part number should be inside the memory compartment. Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
    System board options:
System board (includes replacement thermal material)
    ■ With media card and HDMI support, for use with UMA systems 577065-001
    ■ With support for media cards but not HDMI, for use with UMA systems 577064-001
    ■ With no media card or HDMI support, for use with UMA systems 585923-001
    ■ With media card and HDMI support, for use with discrete systems 577067-001
    ■ With support for media cards but not HDMI, for use with discrete systems 577066-001
It will be one of the above numbers.

  • Mobo and NO CPU

    all,
3 questions?  (1) what happens when you have a healthy KN8 plat system without a CPU when you attach power to the PSU? (2) same as 1, but assume PSU has been plugged in and you then  hit the power switch (again no CPU) ? (3) if the system turns over (from no 2) does the bios post with a CPU error ?
    Thanks in advance,
    ventura

    tire,
this was a hypothetical question to see what a healthy system does...that being said...I have another thread about my current problem that is call "is this a bad board"
MY (2nd RMA, that fails differently then the original) system has 4 red LED's....as soon as you plug in power to the PSU the whole case powers on without hitting the power switch (drives, LED's ect)
but the bios does not post, and the vdo card and CPU do not get warm. I have pulled the CPU and the same behavior happens.
the long and short of it is this: I am trying to determine if my mobo or CPU is the issue. I think mobo (based on the fact the the power/reset buttons are not working and none of my componets are heating up) but knowing the answer to the oringinal questions (specifically 1 and 2) will assist greatly in knowing if I should send my processor out to AMD for replacement also
    Thanks

I had same problem with new LEM- Lenovo Energy Management from Lenovo website. But now is preety fine.
After couple times reinstaling my system i'm find out how to do Now works superb with AC plugged or unplugged (battery). No any CPU errors like before 70%,100% ,60% after couple 5 to 20 sec.
    Time for solution for G580
Solution for  you is Fresh Re-install Win7 and put drivers in correct order like this:
    1.Chipset
2.Lem 7.0.3.3  not  higher!!! This is Lenovo Energy Management Virtual ACPI
    3.Mei-Management Engine Components for Intel
    4.Irst-Intel (R) Rapid Storage Technology
    5.Intel Vga
    6.Nvidia
    7 .Audio
    8.Lan
    9.Card reader
    10.WiFi
    11.TouchPad
    12.Bluetooth
    13.Camera
This is correct  order to driver instalations for Win7 64/32
My own  secret formula for instalations without any errors of CPU warning.
    100% correct
    p.s
The Lenovo Energy Management 7.0.3.3 (ME-management energy) is on Lenovo CD Drivers for  G580 (20150).
