X576dw stopped working - can't scan to mutliple MACs

My Officejet x576dw stopped scanning to two macs - one on Yosemite and the other on 10.7.5. I can't scan with either HP Scan, HP Easy Scan, or the the Mac Scan application. I get a variety of hang ups, or connectivity errors. I reset the printing system, rebuilt disk permissions. The scanner is network connected, on Ethernet. I have tried both a static and dynamic IP I worked through a ton of problems to get the scanner working, and having it stop working for no reason is very frustrating. Please advise

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

I don't get any crash reports, it starts to open then just stops, nothing happens. ive tried getting in through the organiser but that doesn't work either.
I think my laptop is Windows 8 (its a fairly new laptop, does that sound about right?)
it was working Saturday I'm quite new to using it so no real workflow, just playing around with effects. ive only had it about a month

It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks

Hi! I am having issues with my Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App. It wont open. A window pops up saying that Adobe Creative Cloud has stopped working. I've already tried the Adobe Creaive Cloud cleaner, and it doesn't work. What should I do to uninstall my app, so I can install it and have it actually work?

Adobe Photo Downloader stopped working; can't import from a DVD?

I use Premiere Elements 4 (loaded with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6) on Windows Vista.
When I attempt to import video from a DVD (via Get Media > DVD import) I am unable to do so and the message
ADOBE PHOTO DOWNLOADER HAS STOPPED WORKING is produced by Windows.
I would value any help with this problem!

Well, if it was produced in an Adobe program, then it should be 100% DVD-compliant. The menuing structure should not be an issue, as it can with other programs (Roxio and Nero come to mind), or from a DVR-DVD unit. I have never seen one of those that did a DVD-compliant disc.
This might point to something else going on.
As a test, grab, or create a short Project in PrE with Menus, and then Burn it to Disc. Test this back in PrE, and see if it behaves exactly the same way. If not, then something might be odd with your first disc, or there could be some other issue. If the Importer fails again, I'd think about doing a Repair Install.
If the test works, the first thing that I would do would be to Copy your DVD-Video. One can use the free burning utility, ImgBurn to do this, if they do not have Roxio, Nero or some other DVD Copy utility.
As a thought, there are a lot of other programs, that can get in the way of many operations in PrE. You might find some tips on setting up your computer for an editing session, in this ARTICLE. Then, test with your DVD again.

This Apple article will help you isolate the problem a little -> iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
Does iTunes start in Safe Mode?
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interfence with plug-ins or scrpits not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
It would also be helpful if you can provide the Error Report from the Windows Action Center Reliabilty History. To view this go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Action Center > View Reliability History under Maintenance. Double click the iTunes critical event and copy it into your reply.

Elements 11 face-recognization feature has stopped working. Can I uninstall and reinstall this program on the same computer without being concerned about deactivation and serial number issues?

If people recognition dialog shows you no suggestions, it would help if you rename breezesession.dat file to say breezesession.dat.old and check if FR runs fine now.
To find this file go to Help > System Info in Elements Organizer and see your catalog location. Within the catalog folder, there is a BreezeData folder which contains breezesession.dat.

Email stopped working--can't send or receive

My email stopped working yesterday. I had tried to send a large file --ppt.-- and it sat in the outbox and wouldn't transmit, so I deleted it. Since then I can't send or receive email. My wireless system is OK; I'm on Firefox now. How can I fix email? My O.S. is Leopard 10.6.7, laptop is MacBook Pro.

My email stopped working. When I upgraded to IOS6 on a 4s. Well, nothing changed but the os, and I finally figured out that when you put in your user name, you have to put in the @yourprovider.com
When they wrote the code they forgot to add the little piece of code that would translate and transmit your user name with the @provider.com.
Once I changed it to [email protected] it immediatley started working

Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

N95 web feeds (RSS) stopped working - "can't proce...

The web feeds on my N95 have stopped working. They were running fine until the middle of last week but now I get 'can't process feed' on all of the feeds I try to open. I have tried all of the following ways to fix this and none work:
* Deleting and re-adding the feed (and all feeds)
* Adding a new feed I have not used before
* Hard reset and restore backup
* Hard reset and restore backup before I had the problem
I suspect there is something corrupt on the SD memory card as even after a hard reset it still seems to 'remember' a bit about my feeds (e.g. the last time it was able to update it. Is there a 'private' file / directory that I can try deleting to resolve this?

I have the same problem, suddenly feeds stopped working last week and I have also reset my phone and upgraded and removed lots of programs and the result is a basic phone, only with nokia programs and my contacts. Everything else is working fine, it even seems to upgrade the feeds, just can't open them. And I store all my feeds on the phone memory.
Is someone working on this problem?

T42P Wireless Stopped Working - can't aquire network address

Hi,
I have a T42P which has run wireless for years with no problems. All of a sudden it stopped working. It has a very good signal strength but hangs when "acquiring a network address"
I have updated the driver for the Intel PRO LAN 2100 3B to 1.2.5.37. I am running XP SP3.
I have 3 other wifi devices that connect to the network without any issues

This worked for me, quoting from an earlier post of mine. My T60 was stuck in perpetually "acquiring network address" (wired or wireless) If that is your problem try this:
I think I may have found the fix. According to microsoft the problem can arise when winsock gets corrupted, either as part of a service pack upgrade or when NORTON is uninstalled.
The fix can be found at

on that page you will find a section titled "fix irtfor me" This will rewrite your winsock file. So far it seems to have worked

CIT 400 Stopped Working - Can't Hear Caller on Skype or Landline

I've had my CIT 400 for a couple of years and everything has been working fine. This past week, my phone suddenly stopped working. I can no longer hear any audio when trying to place a call. It is happening on both Skype and the landline. I can place/receive Skype calls from my computer using the same Skype account, so it's not a Skype issue. When this happened in the past, I simply cycled the power on the CIT base and that would get everything working again.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Cycled power on both the base station and the phone (even changed the batteries)
Reset everything to factory default
Upgraded the firmware to 4.80
The caller can hear me, but I can't hear them.

It happened the same to me! so I decided to disarm the handset and just removed a kind of black sticker from the mic and that's it, my Linksys iPhone is working as new again! Now they hear my voice clearly.
