X6 16gb - Moving panels round home screen

I have just got the Nokia X6 16gb and am trying to personalize the Home screen. I have the screen so that the green tool and the red cross appear on the separate panels. The problem I am having is moving the panels around.
It says at the bottom of he screen it says to 'drag panels to move' but when I try to do this it just moves the screen around.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

This a mod based on a special verion of the firmware that is pre-installed on some phones delivered by Orange or Vodafone, but it works perfectly on any X6. I have it installed on mine, and It gives you access to install widgets (calendar, mail, messaging, photos etc), your own icons, contacts etc, directly on the homescreen. Very handy, cuz it gives the X6 much of the functionality that  only comes with the higher model N-series phones.

  • Droid 3 Notifications Panel on Home Screen

Is there a way to customize the notifications panel at the top of the home screen on the Droid 3?  I don't want my Twitter notifications to display there, but didn't know how to remove that notification from the Notifications Panel.  Thanks!

Have you checked your twitter application for a settings to control how you get notifications?

  • Moving icons on home screen

This may sound stupid but how do I get the icons on the home screen running down the side instead of along the bottom and make them slightly smaller?

You can move icons around on the home screen, the same way you did before. However, depending on how many you have on the screen as to how it will affect the position of other icons. You hold down on the icon until it starts to jiggle and then move the icon as necessary. Tap the home button to turn the jiggle off and set the location.

  • Cannot move applications to previous pages from iPhone home screen

This is a recent issue that I just noticed today. When I press and hold on an app from my iPhone home screen, I can move it around within its own page, or move it to succeeding pages. However, the phone will not allow me to move the app to a PREVIOUS page! It quickly tries to move to the the left, until it resets itself on the current page its on. My only way around this is to synch the apps from iTunes. Has anyone else been experiencing this bug?

Thanks for the advice, but this still does not work. Again, I've had no problems moving apps between home screen pages until now. This seems to have occurred right after downloading an app from the app store today. I'm running OS 3.1.2, and the phone will literally "pull back" an app I'm trying to move to a previous page, whether I move it to any previous page (currently using four pages of apps at the moment). It will let me move an app to a subsequent page, but then it's stuck there (i.e. it cannot be moved back to the page I moved it from). The only way to move it back is through iTunes. What the heck is going on here?

  • Why do I keep losing the Apps Store icon from my Home Screen?

It seems that after almost every sync I lose the Apps Store icon. I have to set up as a new iPhone then load all my data again.
Why would the Apps Store icon just disappear? It's not like I deleted it as I would with an unused/unwanted app.
Running all the latest updates. Not jailbroken and never has been.
    Puzzling . . .
    Ian

Has it simply been moved to another home screen? Flick across the home screen to cycle through them. The only other way for it to disappear is if you have toggled off in Restrictions (Settings > General > Restrictions). If it's not turned off in Restrictions, it must be on one of the home screens, there's no way to remove any of the Apple-provided apps. To get it back to the front home screen, tap-and-hold on any icon, then when they all start to wiggle, drag it where you want it.
    Hope this helps...

  • Notifications and control panel do not work on either the app screen or home screen

On my home screen and in apps, I can not swipe up or down to release the notifications or control panel. It has worked earlier today, however not any more.
I can, however, access them in the lock screen, andin settings, they are allows to open in apps. It should always allow me to access them in the home screen though, so I do not know what has happened.
What do I have to do to access the control panel in the home screen, and why is it like this?

Do you have a screen protector or case that would interfere with swiping?
If so remove them as a test.
    Otherwise:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Folders & apps are locked when moved onto the 2nd home screen

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. My little boy has a Playbook and he's moved a folder full of games from his home screen onto the 2nd home screen (when you swipe it across to the left).
When the folder has moved over it's now locked. We can't open it or move it back onto the 1st home screen.
I opened his Facebook on his first home screen and it opened fine but I've tested it and swiped that also onto his 2nd home page and that app is now locked and won't open or move.
Could someone please let me know why it's doing this and if I can move them back across??
    Thanks in advance

    Hello NicRichardson,
    Welcome to the forums.
Have you tried doing a reboot of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to see if that corrects the issue? Also what version of software is currently running on the BlackBerry PlayBook?

  • Icons moved on home screen, by themselves

Hi. Last night when I went to use my phone, I noticed a few of the apps on my home screen had changed positions. I hadn't synced, my phone had been in normal use throughout the day/night, and no, I hadn't moved them (and it's not like you can move them around without noticing).
Has this happened to anyone else, and is this a bug? I've noticed other odd behavior, such as tapping an app icon and being brought to the basic "search" screen instead, and the phone's absolute refusal to go into landscape mode in Mail and Safari, but this is the "weirdest." I got the phone in June, BTW.

yup, mine move around on occasion too!

  • Safari/Mail icon home screen reset moving issue

I ran into an interesting issue earlier today when I was resetting the home screen layout of my iphone 4S. I attempted to move the safari and mail app icons out of the bottom tray (while the icons were "wiggling") and for some reason they would not come out. I hit the home button to stop the icon wiggling and attempted to move them again. No go. The phone and message icons moved out without an issue, but safari and mail would not.
I shut the iphone off and turned it back on and re-attempted it. This time it worked.
How come I am unable to take and move those two icons off that bottom bar right after doing a home screen reset? Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I Have the same problem on my new iPad Air.

Thanks for being so fast in your answer.
Now my problem is a little bit changed.
I can't fix  the "shortcuts bar". It seems only allows me to set the " basic" or "contact" bars
I double click the shortcuts bar but the green V is not fixed....
Thanks a lot for your information

  • Home screen off-centre and cannot find a way of moving it back.

I managed to move the home screen on my Mac to the left but now it will not return to centre, so that I can access the controls.
    Any suggestions please?
A two fingered drag does not seem to work.

    Do you mean Welcome Screen?
You can delete the preferences file "psa.prf" which can be found at the location-
    ~/library/App Support/Adobe/Elements Organizer/11.0/Organizer
Now launch and see if this resolves the issue.
    Thanks

  • My Mail app sends me to home screen when I open it

Let me tell you what I have done after reading all of the threads on this forum about this issue.
    • Closed the app mail and restarted it #RollEyes #duh
    • Turning phone off and turning it back on
    • Resetting Phone
    • Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the Settings app), then re adding
    • Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the settings app), then shutting down phone, then re adding
    • Removing all of the mail accounts from my mail app (using the settings app), then resetting phone, then re adding
    • Deleting all of my mail from the mail servers (using my computer) for the last two days, then "delete forever" all of that mail that I moved to the trash (my mail app stopped working today - so two days should cover it)
    • Putting the phone in airplane mode
    • Setting the phone to "data off"
I still get a mail app that "opens" then immediatly goes back to the home screen (the mail app is still "running" as I can see it when I double tap my home button to see the "running" apps)
I've been using apple products since I was 5 years old, family of electrical engineers, and I'm stumped. I love apple and the reason I've used their products is to avoid software malfunctions etc. . . I'm not gonna lie, it's gotten worse over the last few years with Apple's growing popularity. . .
Gonna need a solution as I use my mail for work on a daily basis
using iPhone 5S Champagne with latest software 7.0.4
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

Restore as new, THEN restore from the backup. It seems as if the Mail App is corrupted. Last Sunday this happened to me on my iPad (Mail app quitting, just like in your case). I restored as new, then reinstalled the backup. Luckily I had a backup (from the day before) which was backed up BEFORE the mail problem appeared.
If the above does not solve your problem, I suggest restoring as new and redownloading each app individually, and then transferring your photos from iPhoto on the Mac (or whataever photo app on Windows) and content independently.
If that does not solve your prblem, there might be a hardware problem.

  • How do i move Home Screen Icons to another Screen

Hi All i have just upgraded to iOS7 it all went very smoothly except it messed up the positioning of the icons on all my 4 Home Screens !.
The main screen is less one icon, the second one has 7 icons, the third one has 3, the forth screen has 2
I should be able to move them by getting the icons wobbling and the dragging them from one screen to another, but sadly this doesnt seem to work, i can only "hold" the center of an icon, if i could hold them by the edge i could do it successfully, but this impossible.
I really thought i could do it in iTunes, but, this only enables moving complete Home screens !
    Any ideas please ?.
    Tim

Solved it, i percevered with the dragging to the edge and eventually got there.

  • My IPhone 3G will not load the home screen...

    Hi
I am having an issue with my phone. I can't get the home screen to load. I get the Apple Logo screen then it disappears and I get the black screen with a spinning beachball/gear ( like it's trying to load). A couple of days ago I had my phone in my bedroom on my night stand, charging. One of my schnauzers in the attempt to get on the bed, got tangled in the cord and pulled it off the stand onto the floor ( about a 2 foot drop ) ::note:: I do have an otter box on the phone. The phone seemed okay until this afternoon. I updated 4 apps and later I picked up my phone to call my husband and I had the spinning gear screen.
After searching and googling a bit I came across some "fixes" One said to hook up to my PC and restore the phone via ITunes. Okay I tried this, at first I got an error saying there was an unknown error. After a few tries the phone started to restore. It comfirmed that my restore was a success and I then began a sync. After the sync had finished I was back to the apple logo screen :/
I tried this fix also ( it's been helpful for others, just not for me )
    1. Connect to iTunes via USB. Do not disconnect for rest of these steps. iTunes may appear frozen or stuck with spinning beachball....this is okay, do not Force Quit iTunes. I tried a few times w/o it being connected to iTunes and it doesn't work.
    2. Once connected, hold Home + Power until screen blinks then Apple logo comes back up.
    3. Wait until Apple logo dims slightly (~5 minutes or less). Do NOT reboot until the apple logo dims.
    4. Hold Home + Power again until it reboots and Apple logo comes back up.
    5. After 2 min or so, the phone may vibrate once or twice. Continue waiting for the full 5 min until Apple logo dims slightly. iTunes at this stage MAY recognize the phone...do not sync or do anything in iTunes.
    6. Hold Home + Power for the 3rd time until it reboots. Phone may vibrate again after 2 minutes or so. Eventually you'll break into your Home screen.
Still, my home screen will not load :/ Any help would be much appreciated. I live in a rural town with no Apple Store. I got my phone from an individual, would they even help me out ( Apple Store)? I'd have to drive about 80 miles round trip to get to an Apple Store. If there's a fix for this, I'd very much appreciate it
    Thanks in Advance,
