X6 - No in-office WLAN connection to Mail for Exch...

Nokia X6
I have installed "Mail for Exchange" on my X6 and am able to connect to exchange server via wifi from home, or in fact most other wifi access points, but not from within my office.
My office setup is a conventional LAN and comprises Draytek wifi router/modem feeding into a 16 port fast switch then distributed to networked pc's including the server running SBS2008/Exch Serv 2007.
I am able to connect, without any trouble, to the internet at large through the WLAN, but just cannot synch to the exchange server.
Any help to get in-office connectivity would be most welcome.

Hi, Are you running outlook through microsft exchange server? If so check which software version for your phone, star hash 0000 hash. Latest is 400. which includes improvements to exchange. Make sure to back up your data before downloading new version from nokia software updater. Once loaded go to message button, the wizard will run, when it asks to connect select no. You can then add your details. It takes the basic info like email address, user name, domain, server name etc. Once loaded it will offer to download exchange. You can then go into exchange settings and fill in what you want to snyc & when etc. Once this is all saved it should then connect and start snycing.
Hope that helps.

I'm having that very same problem. I can't see a solution to it anywhere. The coinciding entries in the mail for exchange logs are Server Error 501: Not Implemented
    I'm using an N8-00

  • Failure to connect to Mail for Exchange on E75

I cannot synchronize my mail for exchange as I get the following error message:
"Server requires secure connection. Change Profile > Connection > Secure connection to Yes."
This path does not exist in the phone menu, however, I have changed through Email > Settings > Mail for Exchange > Mailbox > Advanced Mailbox Settings > Secure Connection to Yes.
Yet it still gives me the same error message above. I have checked all internal settings with my office's IT department and have updated the phones' software and still nothing has changed! Also I have entered port # 443.
I need some assistance please. Thanks.

Hello there - I too have a problem with exchange on my e75. I could not get my first e75 to work with exchange, I managed to download my emails once, then was never able to do it again. My provider sent me a new phone. Last night I wiped the phone and downloaded the latest firmware as for the last 5 days I had no joy with my settings. Eventually I managed to download my emails - hoorah!
Sadly my joy was short-lived - today once again, I cannot download my emails, no error massage, nothing - I try send & receive the twurly-wurly thing in the corner spins, then drops out - same as before.
    Any ideas?

  • Bug report for picture attachment - mail for exch...

Mail for exchange is a great email software ,I denpend on it very much .
Recently , I found  there was a big problem in some situation :
When  a mail content was pasted a lot of pictures(not attached with files),It was opened very slowly,I alomst could't bear it.
I gusee the program spent too much time to analyzed the mail content and extract the pictures content as some attachments.
I think the program team should find the better methods to improve the efficency of the content analysis observably.
    looking forward the reply,thankds.

It seems half of this has been answered with Leopard. If you try to use cmd-w to close the spell check window, it will still close the piece of mail you're composing. Shift-cmd-; will toggle the window. That's good enough for now

  • Nokia E6 - Contacts not syncing with Mail for Exch...

    Hello - 1st post
Hope I'm asking this in the right place and hope someone can help
I've got a user with a Nokia E6 that's got Mail for Exchange configured on it. Mail and calendar are syncing OK but not the contacts
The user is 150 miles away and I don't have an E6 that I can play with here. I'm trying to talk her through editing the mail for exchange profile (and not having much luck). I'm sure if the phone was in front of me I'd sort it in 2 mins
I've talked the user through going to Menu > Mail > Settings > Mail for Exchange > What to sync. She's telling me there's no option in there to select contacts
Would anyone be able to tell me the exact button presses I'd need to check if contacts are set to sync and how to edit the Mail for Exchange profile to set them so that they do sync please ?
I've tried the manual and a menu map that I found online, but I can't seem to find it.
    Thanks

    Hello Driveblind,
I am having the same problem with a user wich has a nokia e6, did you ever find / fix the problem?

    To Whom It May Concern:

    Regards,
Resetting the phone will remove MfE mailbox from the phone. When you recreate the account, you can choose what gets synced in the initial sync and which part is authoritative, device or server.

  • Mul;tiple WLAN connection

    Hi all,
I've recently upgraded to the N91. I'm delighted with the WLAN ability, but do have a query.
I have a wireless LAN at home and a wireless LAN at work. I have my email downloading over the WLAN at home and would liekthe same to happen at Work. however, I have to change the access point all the time.
Is there a way to configure, for example 'Use any WLAN connection?'
    Thanks for your help,
    Shanks.

Not on the N91, I'm afraid. The Eseries phones have a feature for this called Access Point groups (you can create a group that includes serveral access point names/definitions and when you choose the group, the phone connects to which ever one is available).
Maybe the feature will get to other phones, too, but I'm afraid it no consolation to you with the N91. Sorry.

  • How to configure Mail for exchange to select autom...

I have an E71 with a corporate Mail for Exchange mailbox, the menu allow me to configure the connection Access point manually only. So, by default I select the G3 cell phone connection, but while I'm at home the nokia E71 onnects to my DSL wifi connection but Mail For Exchange cannot switch automatically to it ?
is there a way to configure that automatically ? switching from low cost connectivity access point automatically when repliacting with the exchange server ?
I'm running with Mail for Exchange version 2.09.158
    Many thanks in advance

There is no default for those entries. you need to set it up manually by using the custom label.

  • Mail for Exchange + exchange 2007 problem

Two of the workers has an E65.
They were using MfE up untill 3 months ago with no problems
now when they try to sync, it just gets stuck at connecting
i can see it reaches the IIS on the server with the exchange due to the cert popup(made it untrusted for testing purpose), and when i check the IIS logs i can see the connection attempt.
i installed the latest MfE that was released last week and the problem still exhists.

  • E61i Mail for Exchange error - any clues?

    Hi,
My E61i has recently stopped syncing, via MfE and now displays the message, "Your account does not have permission to sync with current settings. Contact your administrator."
I have tried various things including reinstalling MfE and creating a new profile (twice). I am trying to sync back to a Zimbra server  ZCS operated by my email supplier. I can sync my PC quite happily. But the E61i won't play either using 3G (vodafone) or over WiFi

  • C5 03- Mail for Exchange- Google Calendar

I dont see "Mail for Exchange" anywhere in my c5 03 phone.  I saw in[1] that it is installed automatically when email is set up.  I did that, still I dont see Mail for Exchange and no option to synch my google calendar.  I read in [2]  that  I can "select Mail for Exchange when the set up procedure ask to chose the protocol ".  I tried again with another email address and did not see this option.  Is it because I have already set up a gmail account? Do I need to uninstall it ( if so how?). Can anyone tell me ( step-by-step instructions) what I should do to see/sync my google calendar in my phone.

    Hi saigal99,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
To set up a mail for exchange account on your Nokia C5-03, please go to Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > E-mail > Mailboxes > Options > New Mailbox. After entering your e-mail address and password you should have the option "Mail for Exch.". Do you have this option? If not, which choices are displayed?
If you cannot find the Mail for Exchange option this way, please update your device or reinstall the software via Nokia Suite.
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.

  • Mail for Exchange on E72 drives us into madness...

    Hi all...
    The version information:
Mail for Exch. Build : 2.02.000
    Device Software Version: 052.005
    27-Oct-2010
    RM-530
    (C)Nokia
    Device Model: E72-1
Email server is Exchange 2007 SP3
    01.03.2011 11:34:46 start  sync
    01.03.2011 11:34:47 HTTP error code=500
01.03.2011 11:34:47 HTTP Server Error 500: Internal Server Error
    01.03.2011 11:34:48 end Calendar sync
It is quite obvious that problem is on the calendar. But why on earth you do not tell which calendar entry is causing the 500 error??
Sometimes we got solved this problem by moving all calendar entries into another calendar folder in Outlook, and then move the entries back to default calendar folder. But that sounds really bad solution especially when that is not a bullet proof solution.
Is there any change to get any support for this mail client from Nokia?

Well, the problem is obviously with the server, not with your phone. Perhaps there's a similar forum for questions about Mail for Exchange (and not Nokia). Did you ask in your IT department?
