X6 ovi maps update failure... please help!
Hi everyone,
I just got my X6 yesterday... I tried installing maps 3.03 on my X6, after the installation, a software update named 'ovi maps - with free navigations' appeared... I tried starting the update many times, but it kept on giving out the 'update failture' message... what happened? how can I fix this update failure and continue using my maps?

1. Download Ovi Maps 3.03 for X6 from HERE
2. Delete the cities folder and qf file from your phone (should be in mass memory)
3. Install the downloaded sis file on your phone.
4. Open the maps app on your phone and wait until folder structure is recreated
5. Connect your phone to Ovi Suite
6. Open View>Go To>Maps
7. Download the maps for your country
8. Download the voice guidance for your phone

Hi,
I connected my X6 to OVI suite on my PC and it informed that there were updates.
So I went to updates and selected the optional updates in which it showed that there is an update of OVI maps. Since I was not interested in all other optional updates i selected this one and started the update. After downloading the update, the update started and after a few minutes I got an error message: "Update failed: an internal error occurred"
My OVI maps version is 3.04 and firmware version of X6 is 32.0.002. I know that my OVI suite is not the latest version but that cannot be the problem.
I can update maps without problems, also delete and add are no problem, but changing from OVI maps 3.04 to 3.06 always fails (have tried is several times, also disconnecting the phone, resetting it etc...).
Why does the update fails????

Perhaps posting which device with what firmware version you have run into issues with would be helpful here. Resetting device to "Out of box" state and/or re-installing exisiting device software using Tools > Software updates > Re-install within Nokia Suite upon PC will resolve most issues.
Nokia Maps v3.06 & later use mapping 0.2.46.103 whereas Ovi Maps v3.01, 3.03 & 3.04 use 0.1.28.107 so old set of mapping would have to be replaced anyway as part of update.
Sometimes installing Nokia Maps v3.06 provided there is enough free phone memory (>20MB) can entail removal of more files as in this post:http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Ovi-Maps-v3-06-File-Not-Found-Installation-E...

"Firmware Update Failure", please help
Okay so my brand new 20GB iPod photo refuses to have the systems software loaded onto it, everytime I try and use the iPod Updater (yes I have the newest version) it says: "Firmware Update Failure. Disk write error." I've got it connected with USB 2.0, it shows up as a removable storage device in my computer but doesn't show up at all in iTunes.
So if any of you know what's going on please give me a hand.JamesBond said:

I don't think so. More along the lines that the iPod is not USB 2.0 compliant, or properly certified, or it has a bug somewhere.
Basicly if a device is USB 2.0 compliant, it will work with a USB 1.1 port, just very slowly.
from www.usb.org, if a "device" has passed the certification and has earned the proper "High Speed USB" logo http://www.usb.org/developers/compliance/logo/usbhs125.gif it also HAS to work with a USB 1.0 port otherwise it won't earn the logo.
Now, this begs the question... has the iPod passed it's tests and earned it's High Speed USB certification logo? I can't find any of Apples products that have the logo, can someone point me to them?
Apple is a memeber of the USB Implementers Forum, Inc (and only has one person that is a member).
You can find some good information about USB at www.usb.org. Specificly that it is no longer refered to as USB 2.0, but as "High Speed USB" (just semantics) -

iPhone do not do automatic update. You have to manually trigger the updates.
If your Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads > Music, Apps, Books are ON then when you purchase any new content/item with any devices/computer iTunes, it will automatically download. Switch it OFF if you do not want that to happen. -
My ipad and mini pad won't update though it says several apps are in need of updates. Please help!

Try downloaded the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 standalone updater and installing it.

Is your iPhone connected to your computer using the lightning cable or are you doing WiFi sync?
Sometimes the iPhone doesn't show up in the side bar if you're using WiFi syncing, if its not working, then be connected to your WiFi on your phone and on your computer (Same network) let me know how it's going, if it doesn't work still. Turn your phone off and on again and put in your pass code then try to sync it (keep your phone unlocked and not in sleep mode) tel me if it appears in the side bar. -
How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!! P.s I'm running newest version of iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. I recently bought new X6 and connected to my Laptop (windows 7 Professional) running latest Nokia Ovi Suite version 2.2.1.23 to check for update. I updated the available updates for the software including OVI Maps successfully. Then tried to check for updated maps data. I got message the updated maps are available and was prompted to update. It deleted all existing maps data and failed to update new maps data. Now after several trials I am unable to download maps data thru OVI suite and have to download only thru data package or wireless connection. I even tried un-installing and re-installing OVI Suite and even tried deleting Cities folder manually and then again running maps application in mobile to create new directory but all in vain. I am still unable to download maps data thru OVI suite and PC suite (I tried with latest PC suite as well). Same problem, I am experience with my N95. Please advise solutions if any.
Delete cities folder as well as the qf one... and retry with PC Suite after rebooting the phone......if this is of no use.. Download the Maps installer from
http://maps.nokia.com/services-and-apps/ovi-maps and install on your phone and then download maps...
