X64 bit audio console - bass redir

Hi, I agree with this guy:
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=30340&que ry.id=45253#M30340
When is there going to be bass redirect in the windows 64 bit audio console. I have just installed the latest version of the driver and console. I have a sub that's worth almost as much as my computer and it's useless with out the bass redirect option.
Is there any way to turn this on even if some reg editing is involved ?

Note: this is to get bass redirection working for a sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platnium in XP Pro x64
Ok I have found an even better way. Uninstall everything:
http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRV...ve.com,case=72
Install the Latest Web Drivers and apps
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
Install the Mixer (only!) from the Audigy 2 CD (exit the cd autorun)
<D:\Audio\SurMixer\setup.exe
Next Download (do not install) the Latest XFI Elite Pro driver
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
Next run the installer's first step
<SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0004.exe
Find the creaf_ms.cab in the Temporary files the installer creates in
<c:\windows\temp\crf000\creaf_ms.cab (or whatever the highest numbered crf00 or crf002 etc)
Double click the creaf_ms.cab file (windows will open this , its like a zip) find CtPanel.exe and double click it to extract it to your desktop
Cancel the installer now. (deletes temp files)
Double click the CtPanel.exe (nice new icon) on your desktop and poof! you now have bass Management again.

• Windows 7 64-bit X-Fi PCI-Express Audio console

Hello,
I have a SB PCI-Express Extreme audiocard, and I recently installed Windows 7. I have the basic driver and I do have sound, but the full control suite of software, that included the audio-console and startup-console I had in XP that allowed me full control of my card I do not. Which is rather annoying, because there's much more functionality there.
I tried installing the XP version of the control software, but it started with saying I have newer drivers installed, which made me cancel it as I figured it would be bad to install XP 32-bit drivers on W7 64-bit system.
So, I wanted to know if Creative is working on make W7 64-bit version of the control suite, and if so, whether there is an estimate on when it'll be completed/released? And if not, if someone knows a workaround to get the control suite of XP installed anyway without overwriting the drivers.

Re: Windows 7 64-bit X-Fi PCI-Express Audio console" http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-P7X-Series-Support-Pack-2-0-07-3-2009-AudigySE-Value-LS/td-p/53329
That is for your card, sorry about that. Then you can download and install the newest Creative driver on top of this package. You will first unpack Dan K.'s support pack, install it, reboot. Make sure your sound is functioning and that in Device Manager you have Creative X-FI, not high definition multimedia device. Then reboot again, and install the newest Creative Labs driver. Now you can configure your system for number of speakers, tone, bass, EQ, Crystalizer, etc.

Alright, here's the lowdown on x64 drivers for integrated SB Live! 24-bit sound cards (ala the one in the MSI NEO4 Plat SLI).
Creative has a beta x64 driver program. You can find it here http://preview.creativelabs.com however, if you read the release notes these drivers EXCLUDE 24bit versions of SB Live!. From reading the preview site, it seems that it's not that the 24-bit drivers have not been written yet. It is that they will NEVER be written, AFAIK they are currently not under development (so bitching about it on the preview site wont help).
This leads me to creative main forums, where I find this lovely post. Apparently it is Creative's position that the motherboard manufacturer is responsible for providing the drivers to the integrated sb live card.
Hurrah for screw ups. MSI, it looks like Creative is screwing you on this one, please don't integrate anymore of their sound cards. Realtek has official x64 drivers on thier site already.
Does anyone know if MSI is planning to release sb live 24-bit drivers? Cause it looks like Creative sure as hell isn't.
BTW, There are x64 drivers for every other component on the MSI NEO4 Plat SLI except for the SB Live! 24-bit.

• No Dolby/DTS decoder tab in audio console after installing new driv

Using X-Fi Elite Pro and Vista 64-bit /w new 2.8.0004 drivers. Notes in the lastest driver says that Dolby/DTS encoding is enabled for Vista, but I'm not seeing the decoder tab like other people have. Can I still decode with my soundcard using method 2 in this thread

I have the X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard and Vista Ultimate x64 SP, I get the decoder tab in both creative audio console and Creative Console Launcher (All modes). In order to get the Dolby Digital and DTS decoder tab in both creative audio console and Creative Console Launcher (Entertainment mode, game mode, ect) you have to install the following. Later, you can buy the Dolby Digital Li've as a add on.

• Audigy WORKING with 5.1 AND software(EAX, THX console, bass redirection) Vista 32

This has taken me a week of fiddling, but now on Vista Ultimate 32bit I have most things up and running...
EAX effects and environments from the control panel work, THX console works, surround mixer, speaker settings work..Also I'm getting proper surround output =]
This isn't a complete fix; EAX console and the EQ don't work, and also it only lets me set 6bit@96khz in the control panel, 24bit isn't there =[
I'm using an Audigy 4...
First, I installed creative official vista drivers. Then uninstalled the drivers but left audio console installed.
Install Pax-Apps 2.32sp2 http://www.youp-pax.org/viewthread.php?tid=443&extra=page%3D
Reboot...now my audigy was not working here but all the creative apps were installed. THe youp-pax drivers caused a BSOD after the reboot but after another reboot it went into windows just without the sound working.
Run the Pax installer again, select remove drivers and remove them but leave the software, reboot.
Install the official Creative windows XP drivers. This is the hard step, I had some problems and had to reboot and uninstall-reinstall about 0 times before I finally got it working...but now it works.
Still, I want my 24bit and my EAX console =[

I have this (well kinda) problem also. Sometimes my system (see below) will work fine, but then suddenly the channels will swap or the sub just won't give any bass.
Have tried contacting both Creative and Microsoft support for some insight but nothing apart from the standard stuff so far. I guess its a vista/4Gb RAM issue. Looking forward to using WaveRt drivers in case they give a difference.

• Audio Console to default 96kHz Digital Out?

+Does anyone know how to get the Audio Console to default 96kHz SPDIF output sampling rate instead of 48kHz? each time I restart the PC or return from sleep, it defaults back to 48kHz. Would this be a manual registry changeI am running windows 7 x64 w/ Audigy 2 Platinum. Thanks.

Yes of course, here is the specs of my amp

• Audio Console cant find audio dev

I just downloaded the Audio Console for the Windows 64 bit operating system (AudCon_PCApp_LB__20_22) and realised that I am still not able to access things like the Speaker Settings and EAX Settings. They are just blanked out in the Tools tab in the Creative Media Source Player.
Although when I go here:
Start => Programs => Creative => Creative Audio Console
It gives me this error message when I click on it:
"Unable to find Audio device. PLease make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with it's driver.
This application will be closed"
I am sure I have the latest Windows 64 bit drivers (SBA2_WEB64_LB_2_03_0003) In Device Manager the Properties for the Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) gives the driver date of 9/05/2005 and driver version 5.2.6.063
Any help on getting this sorted would be great.
Thanks

• Sb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

• Can't find the 'decoder' tabe in audio console wind

I just bought a x-fi fatalty. All drivers was installed.
However when I tried to set the spdif passthru to an external AV amp, I can't find the decoder tab in the audio console windows as shown in below screen capture I found on the web.
http://soundblaster.com/images/inline/articles/audio_console.jpg

Hi adrianmak? If you use spdif don?t need X-Fi decoder, when use spdif you send signal to a external decoder. Digital Connections, SPDIF and Dolby Digital Info ?Movies wth Dolby Digital (AC3) & DTSMovies on DVD often use encoded?audio in the form of Dolby Digital (AC3) or DTS. This means that all 6 channels are compressed into a single stream of digital data. A decoder is required to extract the channels and send the sound to the correct speakers. There are three ways to do this.
) Pass the AC3/DTS signal to a external decoder. This is where your optical/coax connection is used. To?go down this route, you must first have a?set of speakers or a decoder that?supports Dolby Digital.
In your DVD software, select 'SPDIF' as the audio output method and 'SPDIF Pass-through' in?your?soundcard options. What this does is?tells both the software and soundcard to leave the audio from the DVD in compressed form and send it straight through the digital outputs. Your?digital speakers/receiver will do all the decoding to give you full surround sound.
Please note that this?is the only way to get 6 channels through an optical/coax cable.
2) Decode the AC3/DTS with your Sound Blaster.?You should choose this option if?you don't have an external decoder. In the DVD software, select 'SPDIF' as the audio output method and make sure that 'SPDIF Pass-through' in the souncard options is?off. The DVD software will now pass the compressed audio to your soundcard, which will then decode the data. The soundcard will output the 6 channels using the?analogue connections (or digital DIN, more on this later). If you try?to use a digital optical/coax connection to your speakers, you will only hear faint sounds from the front left/right speakers.
3) Decode the AC3/DTS with software.?If you have a soundcard that doesn't support Dolby Digital (like the SB Li've! 24-bit) and you don't have digital speakers, the only way for you to get surround sound in movies is to use software to decode the AC3/DTS. The free versions of DVD software you get with hardware often don't support this feature,? you will most likely need a full version. First select 'Dolby Digital' or 'DTS' decoding in the DVD software audio options (you must select the right?sound format for the movie you are watching). Then make sure that 'SPDIF Pass-through' in the soundcard options is off. As with method (2) you must connect your speakers with the 3 analogue cables, not optical/coax.?What version you have?Try to update drivers from creative, MS Windows Update X-fi driver version?disable decoder tab.

• Audio Console: Unable to find Audio device

I'm running Vista 32-bit with SP with an Audigy Gamer. I've been running the same drivers since March, but somewhere down the road Creative Audio Console refused to run anymore when it previously worked fine. I get the following error:? "Unable to find Audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with it's driver. This application will be closed."? The sound card works perfectly otherwise, just unable to run the audio console.
So I uninstalled the drivers, and installed the latest release. Same thing. Audio console throws the same error. Any ideas? This is incredibly annoying.

Sorry - right, Audigy then.
When you uninstalled and reinstalled - did you uninstall the Creative Audio Console? Some driver packages have it as separate program?in the Add/Remove programs list.
Did you happen to notice any other upgrades or new software since the Audio Console stopped loading for you? Like a windows update or anti-virus program update?
Oh, and there is a ... wouldn't hurt.

• No Audio Console! He

Hey guys,
I just installed the newest drivers (2.8.0004) and Console Launcher (2.60.29) on my 32-bit Vista machine, and there is no Audio Console available. Was this feature removed from this version, or is there a problem with my installation Before updating, I uninstalled all of my Creative software using the default software, followed by a driver cleaner .net sweep, followed by a driver sweeper uninstall. I was fairly certain that everything was taken care of. Please let me know if there is any way to fix this!
Thanks,
Charlie

it will be no consolation but i have just done all those things too. to no avail. but you do have an audio console, its just all low tech, if you single click on your volume knob and launch the "audio console" it launches this ugly thing with tabs. and you can still adjust everything you could with the cool graphical interface one. i do not understand why a complete uninstall and reinstall wouldnt put me where i was when i bought it two weeks ago, but im at my wits end and am just happy it works for now i guess. btw **** Vista!!

• Audio Console for Vista

Any idea how to make the Audio Console available for Vista X64?
and how do i enable 5. in X64?

What problems do you have with Audio Console? If it displays an error message and closes, then the drivers did not install properly. Try installing the latest XP drivers first and then the beta ones over them, it has worked for some of us.
The multichannel part is broken for almost everyone, you can only get 5./7. in the playback device's test and sometimes in a DVD but upmixing generally does not work.

• Audio console fre

Hi
I've a new X-Fi Extreme Audio set on WinXP SP2 which is a cause repeated problems.
I installed it with XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0077 driver and it worked fine for a month.
following a hard restart caused by a game it stopped responding and gave a "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)" in the device status window.
this baffled me for some time and was finally solved by installing XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0078 driver (I've no idea why but it did).
the card is set to 5. speakers and I'm using 5. headphones which works fine.
this morning I tried plugging a microphone in then tried opening the audio console which resulted in either freezes windows or causes an immediate restart.
I'd appreciate some advice as I'm out of ideas at the moment.Message Edited by LazyMonk on 0-26-20070:53 AM

• How to connect a APExpress to a digital audio console

I have a Yamaha M7CL digital audio console that has an Ethernet connection. I want to control the desk wirelessly using the APExpress. I know how to do it with a Linksys or Netgear router. With those I need to plucg into one of the 4 LAN ports. Not the WAN. And it works great. Since the APEx has only one port (LAN or WAN?) How can I make it work. The console has Network settings that can be changed but I think my issue is that the port on the APE is looking for internet. I'm not interested in using this set up to surf the web I only trying to connect the 2 and wirelessly connect with my laptop. With all the different settings I have no idea where to begin. Can anyone give me a clue. Thanks.

Hello steviee7. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
In order for the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) Ethernet port to perform as a "LAN" port so that the Yamaha can access the network/Internet, it would need to be reconfigured as one of the following:
For both the 802.11b/g and 802.11n versions of the AX:
o As as relay or remote base station in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS).
For the 802.11n version only:
o As an extender of a wireless network created by another 802.11n AirPort or Time Capsule.
o As a wireless Ethernet bridge (ProxySTA).
