X64 series officejet all- I one software for Linux OS/running Ubuntu

Everything works fine on my 4200 series all-in-one but the scan function. I am running under Linux using Ubuntu. I see only software updates applicable to Windows, so how can I get my machine to communicate with my Acer laptop so as to scan in photos, etc?

Hi,
What is the exat printer model?
IS it the HP Laserjet 4200 model?
If so, I afraid that scanning is not supported for your printer for Linux, but only print capabiltiies are available.
Please check Summary of Available Features in Various Linux Distributions  below, scan is not supported for this model for any Linux OS:

  • Installation fail for HP c4780 in All in One software Windows 8.1

I downloaded and attempted to install
    PS_AIO_06_C4700_140_408
    into Windows 8.1
The install fails part way through with the message box
    Message box header contains:   ....\Setup\hpzsh...
Message box content displays: The system can not find the file specified
Clicking close ends the the install with no further messages.
I attempted to use HP Print and Scan Doctor.  The software apparently identifies the C4780 with the help of an installed basic printer driver (which also indicates that it can not find the specificed file and crashes but leaves a printer driver installed.  This basic printer driver allows me to pull up its web page).  HPPSD then indicates that it is downloading the appropriate All in One software.  Downloading commences but after several minutes then stops with a failed download message.
I have to admit that I am rather disappointed with all the hoops I am having to perform to get a supposedly compatible printer installed.
    I'd appreciate some help.
    Thank you

  • Officejet all in one

First with all due respect to anyone who responds I NEED the correct and accurate answer.  secondly I appologize for this long post. I find it neccassary to be as complete as possible.I am using an OFFICEJET D 155. I do NOT have the CD nor can I find one to buy anywhere. In my experience I ended up installing the printer twice. Once from the PRINTERS LIST which had OFFICEJET ALL IN ONE listed but not a specific model. I installed from there and the printer installed with the basic functions. I went to the web site and downloaded it again in order to get the "DIRECTOR" software. It installed again, no errors.
I should say that HP also lumped all the D series as OFFIJET ALL IN ONE, again no specific model. Now the question. Does this mean that ALL D sereis OFFICEJETS use the same driver/software? Do ALL OFFICEJETS use the same driver/software. I know this cannot be true. When I have installed a K,V, or G series they are called out by specific models both on the printers list AND on the site. The D series on the other hand are all lumped together.
I NEED someone to explain this to me in some detail. There are many "OFFICEJET" printers in who knows what numer in quantity. They all can't use the same driver. Thats not how the industry works. Why the D is apparently different is a mystery. It would be nice if ALL printers or at least a series of printers from any one maker would all use ONE driver for the entire line. ONE driver for printers, ONE driver for scanners, ect. Technically there is no reason to have drivers in the thousands for similar products from ant one maker.
As an example the BROTHER HL1240 is PLUG and PLY, the HL1440 is not. The 1240 appears in the printers list ,the 1440 does not. In addition I found out that the 1440 shares the same driver as the 1650. Nowhere is this tidbit published. The 1650 IS on the list and can be installed from there as can the 1240. Thi shareing of drivers means that the 1650 can be instaled as a replacement for the 1440 and then rename the printer. The 2 printers DO share the same driver. The 1240 and 1440 do NOT. All the printers of this type are physically the same. Why this has to be so complicated is beyond me. I include this to illustrate the same approach that HP takes. There must be a simpler way!

  • HP 7310xi officejet all-in-one-printer Solution Center Windows7 64bit unable to install

Windows 7 64bit system doesn't have any downloaded HP in Programs Files folder but it has some folders downloaded on the 64bit Program Files (x86) folder, none of these folders have the HP Solution Center download, I’ve found the complete folder download but it doesn’t download what I’m looking for.
HP 7310xi officejet all in one printer, eventhough is as your technical support considers it as an old printer, my printer is not abused and has worked fine throughout the whole time, the HP Solution Center was installed before and since I lost the software disk and your website is totally incomplete by not providing this useful resourceful printer window. It really sucks what you've done by not allowing a customer to find what's needed in your website to have your product completely work. You should place a life term limit to your manufactured products if your website does not support them, then as a customer I'd look for another printer brand.
I've followed: Provost as per windows xp explanation and HP installer is not installing the HP software in Windows Program Files neither in Windows Programs files (x86), yes there's an HP folder without the main software, I've tried also removing %temp% and also deleted files from: C:Users\(your name here)\AppData\Local\HP\Digital Imaging, I've also tryied installing the full EU and was unable due to software issue.

Hi Bob_Headrick, there isn't a CD software for sale, HP is not selling it, I've also followed every posted solution to get the HP Solution Center important software icon and have installed:

  • Problem installing Photosmart C6180 All-In-One software

I've "googled" and found several similar installation issues but none quite match mine.   When I attempt to install the All-In-One software, I receive a dialog box error "The system cannot find the file specified."   The file that it is attempting to find is found in the Dialog window heading:
    c:\users\Myusername\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS52C3\,sourcepath.setup\blocksys...
Using %temp% I am able to verify that the 7zS52C3 folder structure exists.  However the ",sourcepath.setup" folder shown above is incorrect.  it should be just "setup".
I've ran this install several times under  different accounts, including creating a new admin account.
I've cleared all temp files, removed tsr files using msconfig as described and cannot seem to solve this issue.  I even renamed the setup folder to ",sourcepath.setup" to see if this would solve the install but it failed on another file.
I am running Windows Professional x64,  My HP Photosmart c6180 is connected to the network and I am able to print properly to it from my computer.  I need the software primarily for "scanning to computer" functionality.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello @DirkPittP,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that when installing your HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One Printer on your Windows 7 64 bit computer, you are encountering a 'c:\users\Myusername\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS52C3\,sourcepath.setup\blocksysinstall.exe The system cannot find the file specified' error. I would like to assist you with this issue today.
Now in your original post, I can see that you have already attempted installing the printer on administrator accounts, clearing the temp files, running an msconfig, and renaming the folder to no avail. At this time I would like you run the following steps to see if we can get this working for you.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
First, I would like you to clean up your system of any software or drivers for your HP Photosmart that may have made their way onto your system during the failed installs. Rather than running the 'normal' uninstall process, I would like you to click here to download the Microsoft Uninstaller Tool.
Once the website opens, please select the Run now button on the right hand side. Please follow through any recommended fix steps provided. When prompted, choose that you need assistance with 'uninstalling'. You will be brought to a list of populated programs from your computer. Scroll through this list until you see your HP Photosmart. Select your HP Photosmart and allow it to uninstall.
This Microsoft Tool will also check your computer for any registry corruptions. Should any system corruptions be found, this Microsoft Tool will fix those corruptions for you.
Once the uninstall has completed, please close the Microsoft Tool and proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Clear the Temp Files:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box type %temp% and hit enter
In the Temp folder select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard to highlight everything
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. If you get a pop up to skip an item, just skip it.
Once the Temp folder is emptied, close the window
Right click on your Recycling Bin and select Empty Recycling Bin
    Step 3: Download Drivers:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer.
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
    Allow the download to Run
Once the download has completed the installer will automatically extract
After the extraction if you get the error again for 'blocksysuserinstall.exe' take note of the temp folder 7z . . .  number sequence it refers to this time around.
Step 4: Rename Temp 7z Installer package:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box type %temp% and hit enter
In the Temp folder locate the 7z . . . folder that shows in there
Right click on the 7z folder and left click on 'rename'
Rename the folder to the 7z. . . to the name that the 'blocksysuserinstall.exe' points to
NOTE:  Ensure that you are logged into the same User Account that the error points to: "c:\users\Myusername\AppData . . . " when you make the change to the 7z folder. There shouldn't be any  'sourcepath.setup' folders at all.
    Step 5: Install Printer:
Once the 7z folder is renamed to the name the error wants than click on the 7z folder to open it
Scroll down to the bottom of the installer files
Double click on the setup.exe file at the bottom. It may show an HP logo to the left of it
An installer window should pop open
Follow through the with the onscreen instructions to reinstall your printer
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • HP Officejet All In One-Poor customer service

I purchased an Officejet all in one on 10/20, and had the charge added to my credit card.  On 11/11 I had to call tech support regarding an error I was getting about a "spooler".  I called again on 11/15 and 11/18.  They are now telling me it isn't the printer, but the computer.  Only one of the times did I get someone who spoke English that could be understood.
I received my credit card statement today with a charge to HP for $68 more than was agreed.  I called the number on my credit card, and Surprise!, I was connected to tech support.  I went on line and got the number for customer service.  They told me I had purchased the printer through (Surprise agian!) tech support.   I asked if they, being customer service, could not help me with the problem, and they said no it would have to be tech support.  I now have to wait until mid-day tomorrow to talk with someone, (if they do happen to call).  I am so frustrated with HP at this point!!  Customer service should be exactly that, customer service!!  The issue with my printer is still not resolved, and probably will never be.  I have purchased my last product from them!!

This is a user to user forum, for the issues with billing you will need to contact HP.
For the spooler issues someone here may be able to help you if you would read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth?

  • Which Officejet All-In-One's take 350/350XL/351/351XL cartridges?

    Hi!
I am in UK & want to buy a new HP Officejet all-in-one printer/scanner/copier (with or without fax facility).
I already have a fair stock of HP 350/350XL & tri-colour 351XL ink cartridges & bearing in mind how much they cost, I think it would make economic & environmental sense to find a new HP all-in-one that will take these cartridges.  I know they fit the J5780 & J5785 but cannot find anywhere in UK currently stocking these models.
Would be EXTREMELY grateful if anyone out there could please advise me on which current all-in-one HP models take these cartridges and/or where in UK I can find the J5780 or J5785 for sale.
    Thanks in anticipation!

Mine does this too - regardless of whether the cartridges are actually present.  It seems to do with the mechanics which move the tray underneath the cartridge home position.  Any solutions?

  • I have a HP g55 OfficeJet all in one printer.

I have a HP G55 Officejet All in One printer.
I'm told HP has stopped making drivers for the latest Apple operating systems.
I was wondering if I installed Windows xp and the correct G55 HP drivers for windows xp could I use the printer
under bootcamp or would I still need drivers for the Apple OS.
Thanks for any help I trying to decide what which way to go to update my desktop. Go Apple or fight my way through Windows 7 or 8

There is an alternate driver suite for Mac OS X known as Gutenprint. It lists your G55 as a supported model so this would let you print directly from 10.9.
Note that the Gutenprint v5.2.9 installer is not digitally signed, so the Gatekeeper facility inside Mavericks will block its installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can hold down the Control key and click on the Gutenprint installer. A pop-up window will appear. Select Open and you will then have the option to install the Gutenprint driver.

  • HP's Officejet All-In-One compatibility

I am thinking about buying an All-In-One, but was wondering if anyone that has one has had many combatility problems with it. Currently I have an Epson Stylus 740i and I am looking for something that will give me better results, plus what the All-In-One has to offer.
Any other thoughts about what might be a better investment?
    Thanks for your suggestions.

I have an Officejet 5510 all-in-one. For the most part, I've been satisfied with it. However, I found it doesn't work well if I connect it to Airport Express and try to get it to print from my son's computer via wireless.
I believe some of the more expensive models do are compatible with a wireless connection, but this Officejet was around $150.
If you are just printing directly from your Mac's usb port, It should be perfect for you.

  • How to install All-In-One software with network printer?

I plugged my 7310xi into my Linksys WRT54G router. In Windows 7 64-bit I found the printer, installed the default drivers, and it's printing happily via the network.
But I need to install the HP All-In-One software if I want more advanced functions like scanning to my computer.
Downloaded the software from the web. During installation I get to the part where it asks me to choose how the printer connects to the computer. I select "through the network," click next, and it just keeps on kicking me back to this screen and I can't proceed. Any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem with Windows 7 64-bit and HP Photosmart 2610xi. All you need to do is right click on the installation program, go to properties, go to compatibility mode, select Windows Vista SP2 and optionally check run as administrator. It worked after that.

  • How do I set up my HP psc2175xi all in one printer for wireless printing or network printing?

How do I set up my HP psc2175xi all in one printer for wireless printing or network printing?
I am changing the set up of my home computer to add another computer.
I would like to go wireless from my computers to the hub and wired from the hub to my
printer. I do not think this printer can do that since it does not have the ports to connect to a router hub, I think.
I am rather new to this way of setting up, so any help would be nice.

You could get a wireless router that supports USB printers, but these only support printing, not scanning.  You could just go buy a new wireless printer since your printer is pretty old, anyway.
