X79+GD65 (8D) Does not Reconize 16GB Quad

Somehow the MB doesn't recognize the full 16 gb.
I can switch the dimms and they all work on dimm 1 and 3. however when they are all plugged in dimm 1-3 and 5-7 it only finds dimm 1-3 not dimm 5-7. And only sees 8GB.
The DDR Phase light is glowing.
Any idea what it can cause.
The latest bios is already running.

All Dimms work, inspected te socket pins for damage. None!
Tried different memory,
I tested:
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile CML16GX3M4A1600C9
Now it's Corsair CMX16GX3M4A1333C9
Yet it still only sees 8GB, Dimm 1 and 3 in bios, memory-z...
Any other idea's?
I still got 6 GB 3x2gb Kingston 1333mhz memory that i am gonna try out.

First thing to check is for a "screen wedgie".
Fold a piece of paper into a "scoop" and run it around the inside perimeter of where the frame meets the screen.  You're trying to find some grit or dirt built up underneath that is causing a "Phantom Screen Press".

  • WWHEN I CONNECT MY VIDEO CAMERA TO THE MAC, IMOVIE DOES NOT RECONIZE IT SO IT GOES STRAIGHT TO DVD PLAYER. I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD VIDEO IN IMOVIE. SOME OF THE DISC WILL GO TO IMOVIE OTHERS STRAIGHT TO DVD PLAYER

When I connect my video camera to the mini mac in order to download into imovie it goes directly to dvd player and I can't download into imovie. It does not reconize a camera being connected. This does not happen all the time. Is something wrong with the disc or the camera???

It sounds like it is mistaking the camera for a DVD disk. So my best follow-up question is to ask:
    1. Who is the manufaturer of your camera
    2. What is the model number of this camera.
What happens when you quit DVD player. Does iMovie still fail?

My story:I just got a new ipod video 60 gb a few days ago. i installed everything and it was up to date. I have a pc with windows xp home edition. when i pluged it in all it did was make a sound like it reconized it. I spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling the updater and itunes. My sister had a ipod mini which worked still. I took it back to the store and it was fine on the macs there. The guy restored it but when i got home it still didnt work. I then had to got to N.Y. the next day. I kept tring and still nothing. I went down to soho and all they did there was what i already did. They told me to reinstall windows. two days later two of my uncles came and they didnt know how to fix it. but one of y uncles noticed that when you go to control panel and system and then hardwear and then device manager there was an ipod with an extension of a ipod in yellow with a ? mark. My uncle said that its the driver which is bad. They couldnt help me anymore. The next day i was like okay im going to figue this out. I unistalled everything including itune quick time and updater. Then i reinstalled it. Still nothing. But when you plug it in the first time it pops up with a new device and stuff like that and it pops up a page saying to install new device select where you want to install it from either a list or your computer. I then selected from my own location or the second option. i looked for the driver all trhough my c drive, under programfiles, derivers nothing. i then was angry and was like whatever i might as well try i386 cause i know theres a lot of stuff in there. it went to the page with the magnafying glass and then it start to load or install a mass storage device. then it said i need the service pack 2 disk which i did not have cause my computer came with it. i then searched the web for where it was located but nothing. i then saw it said i need usbstor.sys driver so i then searched the web and nothing. i then thought i should search the computer with the search on the start menu. i seared for usbstor.sys and a few folders poped up. i then located where it was and browsed to the fold where it ask me if i need service pack 2 disk and clicked ok it did some more installing and then the ipod said do not disconnect. i was so happy. but itunes didnot reconize but my computer did. i then restored it and then restarted my computer. it then took a few seconds to reconize it in itunes but then it work!! i was syked.

  • WRT54GS Router installs fine on PC but does not reconize Router

I just purchased this on Tuesday and trying to install. Everything seems to load using the CD but when it tries to connect to the Internet it errors out. When I check the Device Manager it shows the router as being installed properly. Direct connect to Internet works fine. This is a first time wireless setup in house, brand New computer out of the box running Windows VISTA.
Also am using a D-Link ADSL modem for internet connection.
    Any help would be great
    Thanks
    Skip77

I don’t think you need to install the router but configure it and the setup CD just does that. It does not install anything and there is no way you can find that in Device Manager. So if you are trying to configure WRT54GS, make sure you are using correct CD. Secondly this router is a Cable/ DSL router and does not support ADSL. Your ADSL should be working in Gateway mode and not in Bridge to make this router work with this modem. Check if your modem support Gateway mode and has a build-in DHCP server on it.

  • HP Pavilion 500-C60 does not reconize XD card containing photos

My PC has a slot with an image suggesting an SD card (showing the top right corner cut off). However the number of internal contacts appears to be twice that needed by an SD card. Bottom line: no SD card fits in the slot but an XD card appears to have the exact number of connectors needed by an XD card. And indeed the XD card fits perfectly in the slot.
    So far so goood.
Problem is that Windows 8.1 does not recognize the card. I have looked everywhere using Google but cannot find a solution.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
    Your machine has:
    7-in-1 multimedia card reader
Figure : View of memory card reader
    Supports the following cards:
    Secure Digital™ (SD)
    Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC)
    SDXC
    Memory Stick
    Memory Stick Select
    Memory Stick PRO
    Memory Stick MagicGate

It does not support XD card (or xD card) from Olympus cameras. You need a converter from xD to SD.

  • Apple TV (2nd Gen) - Tv does not reconize HDMI or ATV

Hi, I purchased ATV last night, My tv - Sharp (LC-42D62U)does not recognize or show anything when I plug in the HDMI cable and ATV. I tried both HDMI slots on the tv, powered down everything and powered up and tried another HDMI cable. Researched online and some folks had a firmware upgrade needed on their Sharp tv, my particular model does not offer usb slot and the Sharp website does not have a firmware upgrade available for my tv. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Note that, in all the examples you provided, third party solutions are used. Now, while it's not physically impossible for a new update to be made for older devices, Apple decides what hardware would be required for the OS to work reliably. For example, the iPad 2 is the oldest iPad that can run iOS 8, and you'll see a fair number of performance complaints about it. Had Apple also made iOS 8 compatible with the 1st generation iPad, the performance would likely be even worse. And since only Apple makes and distributes OS updates for its products, you won't find any workarounds, like you did for AirPlay by using AirParrot.
If you think Apple should make an entirely new device, you can go to http://apple.com/feedback/appletv.html.

  • System does not reconize 2nd hard drive

I have installed a 2nd hard drive in my Power Mac G5 in bay B. My existing hard drive in bay A is the stock 150GB that came with the machine. The new hard drive is a Barracuda 7200.11 1TB by Seagate. The problem I am having is I can't find the new hard drive to initialize it There is no icon on my desktop that appears for the new hard drive. I reboot to my OSX install disk in hopes to initialize it and open disk utility and is does not show up as an option. I open the utilities in OS and it does nor show up at all. It does not appear in the system profiler.I have checked the interface connection and it seems fine. I have never performed this operation--can anyone help me find my new hard drive and instruct me as to how I get it up and running
