X79a-gd45 cant overclock bios v10.7

Hi guys 
I am having some issues since i bought this card.
I updated the biis to v10.7  and now i can not change the cpu multiplier it stays in auto and i can not change it
At v10.6 i could change it when i double click on it or enter i could have chosen the multiplier
Now clicking or entering doesnt make anything.do i have to enable oc anywhere else?

Change it with +/- keys on numpad.

  • Motherboard X79A-GD45 (8D) and bios 7760vC5.

    In the bios I can activate "Fast Boot" but I am no longer able to set the following sub-options as I could do with bios 7760vC4:
    1. Network Stack Driver Support – Enabled / Disabled
    2. USB Support – Full Initial / Partial Initial / Disabled
    3. PS2 Devices Support – Enabled / Disabled
    When I now activate that "Fast Boot" wat setting will be active for the sub-options not shown anymore?

    I am not 100% sure, but if Fast Boot / Win 8 options are enabled all of those settings are moot and un-needed / un-available.
    PS2 = legacy
    USB support default to full
    Network Stack Driver is bypassed during fast boot
    Again these are only assumptions, you might want to contact MSI directly for an exact answer.

  • MSI X79A-GD45 8D overclocking 3930k question about Power Saving Features

    hi guys
    i could do the oc for my 3930k.Now i am on 4.3ghz.Here are the settings i made ;
    i didnt change the cpu multiplier left it on auto.
    EIST and Turbo features are on.I just change the multpliers of the core limits for every core.I made core limit 43 for all cores.
    Also i set the vcore offset feature to %12.5 and it made the voltage under load 1.280 which can hold system stable @ 4.3ghz.
    when cpu is idle multiplier and voltage decreasing and when the cpu is under load voltages and multipliers increase.
    thats what i want.  But;
    i tested the vcore offset as %100 the auto voltage under load increases to max 1.344.If i go for 4.8ghz probably i would need more than 1.344 on this situation what will happen?because i will need more than 1.344 but the auto voltage will give me just 1.344.How can we arrange this?
    then i tried to enter voltage manually but the voltage didnt decrease even all the power saving features on.I haven't change any settings  i mentioned above for the 4.3ghz oc.I just changed the vcore voltage to manuel. Everything stayed the same like decreasing multiplier under idle and increasing multipliers under load except the voltage.It stayed the same as i gave in the bios.

    I read from somewhere that on msi boards if you put the cpu multipler manually you loose power saving features.Everytime under load or idle cpu will be stay at the same ghz.Is that true?
    if i give the cpu multiplier manuel or vcore voltage can i benefit from the power saving features like  decreasing voltages and multiplier under idle and  and incresing them under load ?
    or when i enter the cpu multiplier and voltage manually ,does the power saving features go away?

  • X79A GD45 Slow start and slow boot into windows with SSD

    Im having some major issues with my X79A GD45 board, When I start the system it takes about 30 seconds sometimes more for something to appear on the screen and from cold boot it starts stops and then starts again before loading.
    Once its loaded it is taking forever to get into windows Im running 2 6gb/s SSD's in raid and the windows logo is able to appear and flash 3 or 4 times before I even get into windows.
    Ive tried it with just a single drive and re installations of windows but get exacly the same thing its driving me mad as Ive spent so much money on this machine. Details of my system are below:
    MSI X79A GD45 v1.0 Bios 1.6
    Intel I7 3820
    Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1600 Cl9
    2 x GTX 680 in SLi
    Creative Soundblaster 3D Recon Fatality Sound Card
    2 x Sandisk Extreme 240gb in Raid 0
    Silvertone Strider 850w PSU
    LG Bluray Writer

    Updated the SSD Firmwares and it made no difference. Ive already tried single drives and the same. The drives are installed into SATA 1 and SATA2 ports the 6gb/s ones. The hang time is atleast 20 seconds at the splash screen alone before loading into windows. I checked the event log for booting and this is what it showed:

  • Msi x79a-gd45 - Continuous restar loop - Code 67

    My computer was working normally yesterday installed my 2 vga and the problem started:
    Problem: everything appears to power up correctly, but it only stays powered up for about 5 seconds, then it switchs off, and then continues to repeat this process.
    It also restarts and does the same thing in a continuous loop.
    Debug display flashes 19, then 67 OR 6F
    The vga This Ok, tested it on another computer, also tested other memories and nothing remains the same.
    I tested with only 1 vga and the same thing, do not know what to do.

  • Boot issues with x79a-gd45 (8d) and n680gtx 4gd5/0c no bios splash screen

    I have system
    with
    x79a-gd45 (8d) and
    n680gtx 4gd5/0c
    16gb ram out of 4 modules
    vertex3 ssd
    win7 64 en updated everything to the latest version.
    during boot i get b2 b4 and 92 messages but not bios splash screen.
    When doing a test with an old ati card the system shows splah screen all is fine.
    I have 4 systems like this all behaving the same
    any ideas

    Hello I updated the bios, was not neccesarry but problems remains.
    cleared the cmos several times.
    I have to inform you that i'm building 4 similar systems all suffering from the same problem.
    During boot there is a black boot screen not splash screen. and on the top left a cursor and in the bottom right b2 b4 and 92 messages.
    When I install and old ati x1050pro all is ok during boot I see the splash screen and i'm able to enter the bios.
    boot time approx 20 sec.
    when running the system with the msi n680gtx boot times are back to 2 min and a long period with only the black boot screen and the bios codes.
    As suggested I tested the card in a other system.  Motherboard is asus. And voila I get a splash screen.
    STRANGE THING IS THAT THIS SCREEN IS NOT RESISED BUT IS I GUESS 800 X 600 AND CENTERED IN THE SCREEN.
    Also after several reboots I could not get a screen filled splash screen.
    Can this be a video card bios issue ?

    I don't know why my cpu remains stuck at 37x even if I put the multipler to 40...

    Unfotuantely I have to correct that i7 3820 (like all socket 2011 i7 cpus) is unlocked. Only Xeon cpus for 2011 are not.

  • X79A-GD45 Plus refuses manual voltage overclock?

    Hello everyone, I registered over here to ask this question and see if anyone else is having the same issue.
    I currently have an i7 3930k installed in my GD45 Plus, I bought the board for its reasonable price and 8-DIMM support. I was pretty happy with it until I discovered this "issue".
    Leaving most settings on auto and using the Turbo+Vdroop method (C'mon MSI, would it kill you to add offset overclocking?), 87.5% Vdroop control and +250 on the core override voltage I am able to stress test for 30 minutes to an hour at 4.6ghz before crashing, the CPU is just at the very edge of stability. Load voltage settles around 1.364V with this setup, which is very very low for SB-E chip at that clock speed.
    However, if I disable turbo and run a manual clock of 4600mhz things change. All power savings shut off, SA voltage at 1.300V, basically everything opened up as far as power limit/duration settings. It boots to windows fine, but immediately upon loading the CPU the system shuts off and reboots after a few seconds. I tried 4600 at 1.375V... then 1.400V... then 1.450V, all the way up to 1.550V and it has the same effect.
    Then I wondered what it would do at stock, sure enough even at 3200mhz stock with a manual voltage the board shuts off immediately once the CPU is loaded up with Prime 95 or IBT.
    I am using BIOS revision 17.3, and am about to attempt to downgrade to a previous version to see if that has any effect.
    Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with this thing? This is incredibly disappointing, as I had a very good experience with the X79MA-GD45 mATX board. What is even more disappointing is my garbage (literally the worst board I have ever owned, bar none) ECS X79R-AX Deluxe that doesn't even have a VRM heatsink and needs the BIOS jumper in the reset position to even boot will run the same exact CPU as I am using in the Plus at 4.8ghz all day every day. Really want to get this board working properly as I like everything else about it.

It would make sense, if it was about 0.200V off then running 1.400V would actually be 1.600V and even with the power settings tweaked it would instantly shut down unless I was sub-zero, probably due to the VRM's hitting the 130* thermal protection. I can't think of any other reason it could be behaving like this.

    After I upgraded my bios from 1.3 to 1.4 I noticed I still had some not properly installed hardware in the computer management screen, so I used live update 5 and found the the Renesas USB3.0 Drivers. The system runs fine, except from a cold start.
    When starting the machine, windows freezes on the 4 colour logo, before the usb initializes (this I can tell from the keyboard not lighting up).
    A forced reboot does not help. However, going in the bios (to check if all drives are functional) and then booting, does. After this the machine runs fine again.
    Now my question is, is this caused by the new bios or by the Renesas USB3.0 Drivers? Or is it something completely different?

    Using LU5 often ends up this way doing UEFI/BIOS updates dead board!

    After a flash, it is also recommended to remove the power cord from the PSU, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS & reset.

    Already a few days choosing either U.S, Europe or Asia from MSI's site I do get the following message:

    Where to download the 7760vC3.zip?

    It's the same for other European sites. The German one also lists up to C2 (http://de.msi.com/product/mb/X79A-GD45--8D-.html#/?div=BIOS)
    As it just applies to certain versions they might really have removed those. Time will tell if C3 and other missing ones will be available soon.
    In the meantime the beta versions are still available here and have proved to work so far.

    I'm trying to downgrade the bios from  2.2 to 1.7 but when I try the 1.7 bios doesn't show on the pen drive
    the bios file is in the pen drive but it seems isn't possible to downgrade from 2.x to 1.x version
    Anybody can help me?

  • MSI X79A-GD45 (8D) BIOS help??

    Hi guys, I'm new here as I've only just managed (barely!) to build my first PC. Although I'm slightly worried that once I turn it on the BIOS of my motherboard won't be the version required to run the i7-3820. I've read in a number of threads from different forums and it seems to be a recurring theme of this motherboard being slightly problematic.
    I'm still waiting on my PSU so I can't check it quite yet although everything else has been assembled.
    My question is, can I find out the BIOS version of my motherboard from something like a serial no., and if so, where?
    My system is as follows -
    MSI X79A-GD45(8D)
    i7-3820
    R9 270x Hawk
    2x8GB G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 2133
    Cooler Master Hyper 412s
    Corsair RM650 80 Plus Gold 650W
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, as well as advice on what to do if the BIOS is an old man.
    P.S. - there is a ''revision history'' inside the ''software & application'' user guide which notes an update of something (not sure if BIOS) up to ''v1.6 - Update Control Center 2.5 and add MSI SUITE''.

    You could always try the CPU and see if it will POST or not. No harm should be done trying it. If it doesn'r POST, then you have a pretty good idea it needs the UEFI/BIOS updated. Be sure to 'barebones' the system (minimum hardware installed) outside the case on a plain piece of unprinted cardboard or untreated wood. One RAM stick in the DIMM1 slot.
    Hopefully I wont have to follow this advice, took me so long to set everything up!
    I did manage to find a few dates on the mobo itself, including one mentioning ''EuP 2013'' as well as a sticker ending with the numbers ''2014''. I think it's a good indication although I may just be seeing what I want to there. Any idea what EuP means?
