X79A-GD65 (8D) MSIHQ error 654 Specified path name or file name is invalid.

Hello,
First, excuse my poor english...
I would like to flash the 7760 v1.8 bios of my motherboard to install windows 8.1 on a crucial M500 480Go (yet, installing W8.1 after connect M500 on SATA1 6Go next to my M4 SSD with W7, causes errors during installation and I guess it is because i think the SSD is not correctly recognized by the bios and Windows 8.1 requires bios and ME updates.)
I download the last bios on MSI site (http://us.msi.com/product/mb/X79AGD65_8D.html#/?div=BIOS) and install MSIHQ Tool 1.25g software to make an USB stick for flashing as describe here : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=116721.0
But when i point on the archive (3.1. Method 1: Processing a BIOS Archive Directly (ZIP/RAR)), MSIHQ can not open the archive and tell me: ERROR 654 Specified path name or file name is invalid.
Yet when I use the same method to flash my bios from 1.6 to 1.8, it had gone well ... What to do?  Should I use the method described on the download page: http://fr.msi.com/files/pdf/Bios_update_SOPAll.pdf ?
Thank you and good day.

No, no...  I know what a dual boot if it is what you say, I did it for years. I also made two differents drives with two separate systems boot : a Hdd with xp and boot.ini , and another with windows 7 and mbr. After installing the first OS first on a disc, you disconnect this HDD and connecting the second to receive the second OS. There is no dual boot because I did not boot on the same partition then let me choose between 2 OS placed on two differents drives or two partitions, but I boot well on two differents disks , each with their own boot files this just saves me the dual boot which I find too heavy. On a Gigabyte X48T -DQ6 with the F12 key , you choose what HDD boot . Same I think with the F11 key X79A - gd65 : "Press DEL key to enter Setup Menu , F11 to enter Boot Menu" and then you choose between booting on either disc. In the case cited above , it is then that we arrive on the mbr of windows 7 on a disc or boot.ini windows xp on the other. So you do not answer my question, it seems to me :-) I wonder if I'm clear, there ...;-)
thanks very much...

Hello, everyone! I am having trouble with uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 on my computer. Everytime, I try to I get a pop-up: "2343 Error: A specified path empty." I tried running Microsoft Fix-It Tool but it's unavaliable for me to use. (I'm guessing Windows 8 is incompatible at the moment.) Any help on this would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you very much !
(I hope this question is in the right forum, this is my first time using Adobe Community.)

Didnt Control Panel Uninstallation work? Is there an entry of Photoshop Elements 11 in <Drive(C/D/:)> Program Files(x86) or Program Files > Adobe
Did you try running Microsoft Fix it Tool from this location: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/error-2343-specified-path-empty.html

  • BMR-SS backup fails with error "the specified network name is no longer available"

We are running DPM 2012 SP1 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system, backing up a Windows Server 2012 system that is a DC.  The agent version is 4.1.3417.0.  Both the DPM server and the DC are physical systems - brand new HP Proliant 360's.
When creating the replicas for the 2012 server the first time, the backups work fine, and then for a day or so after that.  After a couple of days, the BMR-SS backups fail with the error "the specified network name is no longer available".
I can watch the backup happening in the Windows Server Backup console on the protected server - the BMR backup goes up to 99% and then fails.  BMR backups on all the other servers are working - we have a mix of Win2008R2 and Win2012.
Here is what I have tried:
I can connect to the UNC path on the backup server without a problem during and after the backup is happening.
    Tried reinstalling the DPM agent.
Tried backing up directly from the protected server to another server's network share, which worked.
I can copy multiple gigabyte files directly from the protected server to the DPM file share without a problem (the same one that DPM uses for the replica)
Tried turning off the SCEP real-time protection during the backup.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

    llo Boudewijn
    I followed Boudewijn's suggestion.
The Windows 2012R2 servers had no recovery partition in disk C. I created one (400MB) following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2930294/en-us and
DPM system restore worked. But just once.
So this is not the solution to the problem......
Is no one else having issues with DPM bare metal protection of Windows 2012R2 servers?

    Hi,
We have a cluster with 2 nodes. Everything works fine in Node1. When I try to failover TEST1 database to Node-2 it fails with this message.
Generic service 'Analysis Services (TEST1)' could not be brought online (with error '1060') during an attempt to open the service.  Possible causes include: the service is either not installed or the specified service name is invalid.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
The error message is pretty straight forward, it's saying either the service isn't installed or it's not installed as the same service on that node. Did you install analysis services on the second node (from the error it seems like it isn't)?

  • Error 32812 (Specified Tag Name not Defined) from FP Read

I built an application using LabVIEW 7.1 and FieldPoint 4.1.  It
performed well until about a week ago.  Suddenly, I started getting
error 32812 (Specified Tag Name Not Defined) when doing an FP Read to
read all the channels on an FP-RLY-420.  This is installed at a
client's site, but my client assures me that nothing changed in the
computer configuration.  There is a dual serial card installed (SIIG
    Cyberserial DualPCI dual 16550
RS232 Serial I/O Card), which does seem to cause problems (mouse jumps
erratically), and I wonder if this card could be contributing to the
problem, but I'm not sure why I would get the specific error message
    I'm getting.
In looking for info on the problem, I did find an article on
registering the MIS files, but I have tried selecting "Find Devices"
through MAX while logged on as an admin, and the error still occurs.
If anyone has any ideas as to what could be causing the problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jason

    Hello Jason,
I think that the error you are seeing could be caused by either 1) a
mismatch between the tag names saved on your computer and the actual
channel names on the module, or 2) a problem with how the serial port
is communicating with the module (only applies if you are using a
serial communication module, as opposed to an Ethernet module).
For the first issue, you have already tried to reconcile any
differences in tag names by reregistering the MIS files.  Since
that didn't work, I would recommend trying to recreate your entire
FieldPoint system in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX),
including the IAK file.  I know it is kind of extreme, but I would
recommend just deleting your FieldPoint configuration in MAX, deleting
the IAK file, and resetting the address and recreating your
    configuration.
I think that troubleshooting a serial communication problem could be a
little more difficult.  I would recommend browsing through the
following documents for some possible troubleshooting ideas.

  • Error 32812: specified tag name not found

    Hello,
I've just started using LabView 7.1 (under Windows) with a Compact Fieldpoint and developed a small data acq. test program. I've built an install and installed the program on another PC. I've also installed MAX onto the target PC and loaded up the Fieldpoint iak file into MAX. Everything worked fine the first time I did this and my program communicated with the Fieldpoint. Now, I've just installed a new version of my program and I'm getting an error 32812 specified tag name not found when I use the FP Read.vi.
Any ideas what is wrong? I presume that my iak file has the wrong tags in it? But it's the same one saved from my development PC! I did notice a slight difference in the versions of MAX, my development PC has
3.1.1.3003 and the target PC has 3.1.0.3021. If this is the problem where do I find an updated install for MAX
    Many thanks

    Hi,
I am having problem with a website in specific.
Is showing the following error message.
Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The Directory name is invalid. (267)
    Server: TMG.personaldomain.local
    Source: web filter
I have found no information in the logs to help identify the problem.

The problem is solved when I restart the service "Microsoft Forefront TMG Firewall"
I suspect that may be cached in TMG that the site remains unavailable.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
I did some research and found 267 error code may occur where the TMG tracing showed an issue accessing the Malware Temporary Storage directory which was resolved by changing the direction from C:\windows\temp directory
to a custom directory. You could make this change as a pro-active step. Meanwhile, if you are running AV software on the TMG server, please also ensure you have reviewed the following article:

  • X79A-GD65 (8D) another error in DIMM ? after MSIHQ error 654...

    Hello, on my, X79A -GD65(8d) , is it possible that a DDR slot , namely the dimm7 is"dead" ?
Let me explain: I have long been a lot of 4x4 strips corsair ddr lp case 9 9 9 24; famous CML16GX3M4A1600C9 in position DIMM 1, 3, 5 , 7 . For some time I had unwanted BSOD , even after rounding the intel rapid storage tech ... I flash my bios remained in 1.8, version 4.7 and ME 8, as you know . So I made a memtest without removing the bars , I got a good red train errors. So I've tested one by one in DIMM1 position , one of the bars was dead. I had an exchange as lifetime warranty , replace new in the same places , and for the sake of rigor, recovery memtest . And rebelotte , an error in red train. Annoyed , I test each new modules in DIMM1 position and then, no error , the 4 bars are goods. Well ...
I give a quick vacuum with a fine brush for dusting. I replace, restart my stuff , and bam, another BSOD after a few minutes. that was yesterday.
This morning I rekindled my stuff and now it boots loop with error code 67 ( which corresponds to " late cpu initialization" ... : pt1cable : , if I view the tiny panel lED on the motherboard ( did I read in common sense ? .
oookkkkkk... Intuition torments me , I cut the power supply , remove the strip in DIMM7 position, the others are in position 1, 3, 5,  and back on the thing . After a buckle boots , he finally starts on the F1 panel proposal to return ds bios setting for 3 bars , and after, boot on Windows 7, normally.
    So questions:
    - What can a ddr slot is dead?
    - Can i put my 4 modules DDR DIMM in position 1 , 3, 5 , 7 ( DIMM 2, 4 , 6, 8 for example, or 1, 2 , 3, 4 ? ) ?
Note that I use the XMP profile bars , which prevents me from doing a manual setting that I 'm not sure to succeed perfectly ... And I check the profile gives me good specifications barrettes, I found in CPU -Z.
My card is obviously no longer under warranty as purchased in March 2012 ...
thank you and good week if you read me tomorrow ... ;-)

I removed all the hardware, I checked the status of the socket pins , I do not see any damaged pins , I put together the CPU and the heatsink , put the mobo on a cardboard box , plugged the video card, keyboard, mouse and makes a clear cmos . After a restart with 4 DIMM modules in position 1, 3 , 5, 7 I always get the error code 67. I placed the strips in position DIMM 1, 2, 3, 4, and the mobo has booted, I could go into the bios redo my settings ( including: XMP enabled). CPU- Z actually gives me 4 bars connected in dual bios, but it works ... I do not know why dimm7 no longer works . There is a set of two LEDs on each side of cpu leds "DDR phase" both are on the left (DIMM1 side 4), one is on the right (side dimm 5-8).
This is the second motherboard MSI X79A - GD65 ( 8D ) in two years , the first having had another problem a year after purchase, one I also dates a year. I've never even used the OC buttons (2 radeon hd 7950 provide me to do), I do photo and video editing,  I work with it for associations and i play games. Nothing particularly stressful.
I have a GA- X48T -DQ6 with a core 2 quad Q9550 for 6 years, I've asked a lot and now my son uses it with pleasure. I never had any problems with it. I still have two Asus : A7N8X Deluxe and A8N sli deluxe with their Athlons , my wife has an Asus M2N -E SLI ... I mounted these motherboards, and they work perfectly .
I am somewhat annoyed... Mmm...  ("très en colère" we say in french) by this MSI card and I think frankly that the price / quality ratio is not in his favor.
    Thanks  .

The original post is from 2010 so not sure if he found the solution or not.
What happens if you open a cmd windows and type the following?
    echo %APPDATA%
    It should find something like:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming
In this case username should be your login name.
Do you have any problems installing other software?
Some possibilities - perhaps you have a corrupt user profile.

  • MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) Boot error B2

I bought my ssystem last week. All hardware came in and I build it up.
This is the hardware I have:
    Mainboard: MSI X79A-GD65 (8D)
    CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K/3.2GHz 12MB LGA2011 Hexa-core
    Case: Corsair CASE Graphite 600T
Power supply: Thermaltake SMART 650W/ 80plus
    Cooler: Thermaltake Contac 39
SSD: Intel SSD 520 series 240GB
    HDD: Seagate HI 3.5" 2TB Barracuda 7200RPM
    Graphics: MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC GTX660Ti
    Memory: CORSAIR DDR3 1600MHz 16GB Kit 2x8GB Domi DDR3 - 240 pin - 1,5V - CL9 - 2x 8 GB Kit
DVD: DVD RW AD-5280 24x DL SATA Black Bulk 24x/24x - Serial ATA
    The problem:
Everything looks fine all fans are spinning when I power on the computer. Keyboard lights up. I can even press del to enter setup.
I never get into setup though. It just displays error code B2 in the bottom right corner and a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
So always error B2. I see this error to on the LED's in the mainboard.
    What I have tried:
    - Boot the system with one memory module in Dimm socket 1
    - Boot the system with on memory module in Dimm socket 3
    - Place the graphic cards in another PCI-E socket
    - Double checked the connector of the power on the graphic card, the mainboard, near the cpu and the graphic card power on the mainboard.
    - Boot the system without any devices, just cpu, memory and graphic card.
    - Reset the CMOS with the button on the back of the mainboard.
Can somebody help me solve my problem? I have no idea what to do anymore?
Oh: 1 thing just came to mind, I have connected all my system fans to my case instead of on my mainboard. I can manage the speed that way, can it have something to do that there is no Sysfan1 connected to the mainboard? (A bit far searched I guess).
    Help would be much apreciated.

I just wanted to let the readers know that I found the problem.
I have tried to screw out my old Videocard and placed that in my new system. It booted without any problems.
The MSI Geforce GTX 660 Ti videocard caused my problem. I have read some things about this card to on the internet.
They tend to use to much power in this videocard so it can cause POST problems.
Here is some more info about it: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/MSI-GTX-660-670-overvolting-PowerEdition,18013.html
I hope this info helps other people to.

  • RDS Gateway + Smart Card Error [ The specified user name does not exist.]

I have the following Windows Server 2008 R2 servers:
addsdc.contoso.com, AD DS Domain Controller for contoso.com
adcsca.contoso.com, AD CS Enterprise CA, CDPs/AIAs published externally.
fileserver.contoso.com, RDS Session Host for Administration enabled
    rdsgateway.contoso.com, RDS Gateway enabled
    tmgserver.contoso.com, 'Publishing' rdsgateway.contoso.com but with pass-through authentication
And the following Windows 7 PCs:
    internalclient.contoso.com
    externalclient.fabrikam.com
There's no trust between the domains, the external client is completely separate on the internet but the CA certificate for contoso.com has been installed in the trusted Root CA store. All servers have certificates for secure RDP.
I enrolled for a custom 'Smart Card Authentication' certificate with Client Authentication and Smart Card Logon EKUs from the CA, stored on my new Gemalto smart card using the Microsoft Base Smart Card CSP.
    From internalclient.contoso.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
using the smart card just fine with no certificate errors.
    From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using a username and password just fine with no certificate errors.
    From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using the smart card to authenticate to the gateway, and a username and password to authenticate to the end server, just fine.
BUT from when using a smart card to authenticate to the end server via the gateway, it fails with:
The specified user name does not exist. Verify the username and try logging in again. If the problem continues, contact your system administrator or technical support.
When I move the client into the internal network and try the connection again (still via the RDS Gateway), it works fine - the only thing I can think of is being outside the network and not being able to contact the AD DS DC for Kerberos is causing the issue
    - but I'm pretty sure this is a supported scenario?
The smart card works fine internally, the subject of the certificate is the user's common name (John Smith) and the only SAN is
[email protected] which matches the UPN of the user account as it was auto-enrolled.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

I had a similar issue where I am using a smart card through a Remote Desktop Gateway. I had to disable Network Level Authentication (NLA) on the destination Remote Desktop Server. If anyone has another way around this, I'd appreciate hearing it. I'd prefer
    to use NLA.

    Hello:
My problem is the FieldPoint error message in LabWindows/CVI v6.0.

    if(status = FP_CreateTagIOPoint (ServerHandle, resourceName, deviceName, "All",&IOPointHandle))
But When hook up with RS-232C Module(FP-1000), occured error. The error code is 32812, that means "The Specified tag name was not found."
What makes this error? Why item name "All" makes the error when using FP-1000?
    Please help me.
    Thank You.

Make sure the resourceName and deviceName match what is in FieldPoint Explorer. See the following KB:

    Hi..my name is Fajar..
I facing same situation getting an error cannot access

btw sometimes after the error shown up, I press refresh button and the page getting blank and then refresh again. the error shown up again.
is there any permanent solution to resolved this issue?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your question.
    Can you access other websites?
Did you use TMG 2010 and install SP1 on it? Did you configure HTTPS inspection?
If yes, it may because TMG 2010 SP1 sends an empty client certificate to the web server during the initial Secure Sockets Layer handshake and
you can refer to the KB below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2423401/en-us
In addition, did you mean that the issue went away after you start Windows Firewall service? In general, Windows Firewall must be enabled on the computer where TMG operates. I am not sure if it is due to the Windows Firewall is not working.
You can also check if Windows Firewall is enabled when you receive that error.
    Best regards,

  • Pavilion dv6-3120sa. Error: 0x000024. Windows BCD store file contains some invalid information.

    Pavilion dv6-3120sa. Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit.
PC boots into Windows and everything runs OK but I've lost the ability to launch Startup Repair.
I wanted to create a new partition and move personal files for three users to it so the C: drive is for OS and programs only. I hoped to assign the drive letter 'D' to the new partition.
As 4 primary partitions already exist, I had to make an extended partition and moved an existing partition to it. I removed the drive letters from the Recovery and HP_Tools partitions and assigned the new partition 'D'.
Fearing I'd done wrong, I found Recovery would not work then read the Recovery partition must remain as 'D' and tried to put things back as they were.
Partitions are now as follows: Primary partitons: System, OS on 'C', HP_Tools no drive letter plus a lot of unallocated space. Extended partition with Recovery as 'D'.
When I restart and press ESC then F11 and choose 'Launch Startup Repair' I get the message "The Windows Boot Configuration Data BCG store file contains some invalid information".
I explored with Bootrec and BCDEdit.
I've identified the 'ResumeObject' GUID but shied away from doing anything with it.
    Description: Windows Recovery Environment
    Status: 0x0000024
Info: The configuration for an element within the object is invalid in the Boot Configuration Data store.
I do not want to do anything that might affect the PC as it is working just fine, but would like to get 'Recovery' working properly.
When I restart, press ESC then F2 System Diagnostics, it takes me to HP_Tools OK as I can see and use the menu of items so it seems that partiotn is functioning.
I had made a Recovery CD and used it with the Bootrec and BCDEdit commands but am unsure what to do next as I don't want to make the situation worse by using the wrong command.
Please can you tell me what to edit and how?

Moving the Recovery partition to the extended partition is not going to work. I really don't understand why you are moving personal files to another partition and still expecting to use Recovery anyway when needed because it will wipe out the partition with personal files. Best to use external USB HDD for file storage.

Hello.  I couldn't get my Topaz plug-ins to work (kept crashing without saving the image), so I uninstalled/reinstalled, and no improvement.  So I decided to uninstall and re-install PSE 10 to see if that would help.  I got an error message: 2343: Specified path is empty, and then the uninstall quit. That's where I am now.  Can't find it in my Control Panel Uninstall programs list, but it is still in the programs file.  Not sure if I should delete all the folders and .dll's in the program folder.  (It wasn't showing up in the Control Panel before I tried to use the disks, either.)  I'm using Windows Vista.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Nevermind.  I found it by searching Google. "Error 2343.Specified path is empty" | Install | Windows
