[x86_64] Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne annoying resolution bug

Hi people
I just reinstalled my Arch, was i686 and is now x86_64.
Before the change, I had War3 Frozen Throne installed via Playonlinux and everything worked fine.
But since the reinstall, I have this strange bug: when I launch the game and am in the menu, if I move my cursor to the right, the screen begins moving to the left as soon as it is near the menu, as if the resolution wasn't the one I see.
I tried:
- several resolutions, but nothing changes.
- opengl option in the launcher, and the resolution is larger than the screen, so I understand why it moves to the left when I move my cursor further than the screen border. And if I choose a smaller resolution, it's as if it zommed in o_O
- uninstall/reinstall of the game, last game patch or the install version (which is the download version from my battle.net account)
Does anyone have an idea about what is going on ?

hmm sounds like you have got the same issue like me:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=68768
i think the lib32 libs are broken, but thats my oppinion. i posted also in the german forums, but there is no solution for it yet. with gentoo 64bit, same configuration, i do not have this problem (so i am using gentoo now).
please try the following:
install a 32bit chroot, xorg + wine inside the chroot and run warcraft inside the chroot.
are you using nvidia-drivers? which card do you have?

  • Mac to PC Lan Warcraft 3:Frozen Throne

    Hi,
I just got a mac a little while ago and I'm having some problems game lanning. My friends are all on PC's and we are trying to lan the game warcraft 3: FT. We are connected through a wireless router but also are connected via the ethernet cables in the same router so were defiantly connected (wireless and ethernet). I am able to get onto the internet through this router how ever when we go into the game and create a game and try and join it i can never see there games, its as though i am not in there network group. any tips please? I'm very new to this so links to guides or pictures would be most appreciated, Thanks!
Ps. we all have the same version of the game and same ip adress's and there firewalls as well as mine are all turned off.

Try the ports this site recommends...

To open them on the Mac... Sharing>Firewall>New>Other, then enter the appropiate ones.

  • Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne Freez & Time won't save in Vista

    Hi Guys,
I have a 24" 2.4, the computer froze when I try to quit WC3, this has happened twice already. Is there a fix.
Also, I have vista installed with bootcamp, whenever I boot into Vista, the time would be wrong. I keep changing it but it won't save.

Argh!  I spoke too soon!  I had powered down the PC before I went to bed, last night.   Upon reboot, this morning, I was greeted with the all too familiar F1/F2 halt screen!  I needed to go back in and set my CMOS settings back to what I needed (date/time/boot order, etc).
The only thing lowering the speed of the memory seems to have accomplished is that the PC no longer power-cycles on F10/save in CMOS.  Powering off the PC brings back the issue (I am going to have to test whether going into hibernate may be a way around it...but, I doubt it.
So...is anyone else having these memory issues?  Should I even have BIOS 1.2 on this SLI board (it's what MSI has installed on both boards...the one I shipped to them and the re-certified one they sent me)...I keep hearing that 1.1 is the latest?
Are there any other memory settings I could try to use to permanently get around this problem?
Is anyone else using this same memory with no problems (I noticed that the 2GB Corsair memory is not even listed in the manual that came with this MLB)?
Should I just buy new/different memory, and if so, what brand/type seems to be the most stable?
Any help is appreciated.  So far, this MSI board (my 1st) has been a major disappointment and cause of frustration.

  • Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne on Wine lags

Is there a fix to this? I'm using wine from the AUR
    bin32-wine-suse 1.1.7.2-1
I had to run this on terminal coz I can't find it on my program list...^^
Wine on ubuntu seems to run WC3 fine when I was playing with it before...
    Thank you...

You may have already but see if "CMSS 3D" is enabled in your EAX Consol. Im totally a newb but if WCFT doesnt nati'vely support EAX, enabling CMSS might fill in the sound on the unused channels.

  • Warcraft III, The Frozen Throne - can't install it on 10.5?

+Hi - I am posting this question again since the other thread was marked as "answered".+
    here we go:
I am having problems with *Warcraft III, The Frozen Throne* and I do not really understand what you did to get it to work.
Reign Of Chaos works fine, also on Battle Net, but I can't install the add-on The Frozen Throne: the installer loading time is awfull long, and when it finally loads (after 2 or 3 minutes), when I click on the install-button, it tells me to insert the Warcraft III CD. I know that the CD I have is fine (installed it on other machine).
*How do I get it to work with Leopard 10.5*?
    Th x for your help.

I had the same problem, I fixed this by creating a mountable .cdr file using "burn" mounted it and installed if from the image file, after that whenever you want to play just mount the .cdr file and play non need to insert the cd anymore.
    burn = http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/30120
hope that works for you, let me know
    cheers

  • Warcraft III Reign of Chaos/Frozen Throne Port Help?

I have a Wireless-G Broadband Router Model WRT54G and I want to host games in Warcraft III while still having my router connected. I do not know how to find my port number. Can someone help find it?Message Edited by Melty on 01-16-200704:37 PM

    Hi...
The port number for Warcraft III is 6112. In order to forward the port 6112, make sure that the computer that u are hosting on has a static IP address. Also make sure that all the firewalls on your computer allow traffic from port 6112 to be allowed.

  • Annoying font bug in EM

    Good morning,
I am pretty sure this isn't the right place to report bugs but, since I do not have a Metalink account, hopefully someone that is an Oracle paying customer will do what I cannot.
EM has a simple but very annoying bug: it does not use a fixed font to display the output logs (of a job for instance). This results in output like this: (which looks even worse as a post in the forum than it does in the EM window)
    >
File Status Marked Corrupt Empty Blocks Blocks Examined High SCN
    1 OK 0 13301 88325 1458980
    >
which gives the impression that there are 13301 corrupt blocks in the file examined (not the kind of thing a DBA wants to see). I doubt I have to point out how cumbersome reading this unformatted output is.
However, using a fixed font, the very same output would look like this:
File Status Marked Corrupt Empty Blocks Blocks Examined High SCN
1    OK     0              13301        88325           1458980   which now shows that there are 13301 empty blocks (much better news than before). The problem, as we all know is, EM is using a proportional font when it should be using a fixed font such as Courier New.
This trivial little bug substantially subtracts from the usefulness of EM to review logs.
Thank you for reporting this to the powers that can make it right,
    John.

    Dear 440bx - 11gR2,
    Unfortunately i have no idea about the problem that you have experienced. However;

That is forbidden. Please see the user rights assigments of the Oracle. Metalink is a paid area and can only be used for those who have already paid the price.
People here can only help you based on their previous experiences but they simply can not post, paste or share the articles of the Metalink.
Please bear in mind for next time but i have the feeling that you already know that issue, don't you? :)

  • Printing resolution bugs

I am very happy to report that the big printing bug in 2.0 has been fixed (the release note talks about panoramic images which is silly - this bug pertained to all images, even vertically oriented ones). You no longer get a major reduction in resolution when the file gets rotated from its native orientation, which meant you had to print portrait oriented raw on a landscape paper and use rotation as RAW is natively always landscape to avoid a major loss of sharpness. This is no longer an issue and Lightroom always sends the resolution you ask it to.
There is however, a small bug left. When you uncheck "print resolution", Lightroom does not stop scaling the image and you will still get the resolution that is now shown in grey. For example an image that is 400 ppi natively at the printed size WILL get downscaled to 300 ppi (if that was your last setting) even if you uncheck the scaling option. This is just a minor annoyance as in most images, you will not see the difference, but still should be fixed I guess.

The books are printed at 300 dpi as that's the resolution of the pdf file that's created by iPhoto for uploading and printing. \
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Annoying messages bug when using mass storage to s...

As you all well know the c: drive on n97 is quite small. I have about +2000 messages on my phone and I use the 32gb mass storage to store all of my emails and sms's.
It works ok untill I connect my phone to pc using mass storage mode. The first thing it does is it says e: drive unavailable - using c: to store messages. Ok - that makes sense BUT the darn thing doesn't switch back to using e: drive when I unplug it from the computer. Instead I have to switch it back to e: manually (from sms settings and email settings). It's also impossible to move messages that I have received while using mass storage mode to the drive e:
I really hope that nokia does sth about this matter. It's the single most annoying bug that this phone has.

To answer a few questions here...
The way the mass memory is broadcast to the computer when connected in PC Suite mode is called "OBEX". It's a kind of file transfer protocol. When it's connected in "mass storage" mode it uses an industry standard usb-storage protocol exactly like pen drives, external hard drives, external CD/DVD drives etc.
The difference between the two is that in mass storage mode, the phone relinquishes control of the storage space and hands it over to the host computer. That way, the computer sees everything on that device and it also happens to be compatible with more or less every operating system under the sun. In PC Suite mode, the phone retains control of the storage space and decides what to let the computer "see". Directories that are crucial to the phone's operation, such as "private" and "system", are not shown to the computer. Added to that, the computer needs specific drivers to be able to use the OBEX protocol, and this excludes non-mainstream operating systems.
As for being able or unable to transfer messages from one area to the other, the reason is fairly simple. Messages are stored in their own directory inside the "private" directory. If, for example, there's no such directory set up on E: when you want to choose that drive for storing messages, the phone considers that it has never been used for this and therefore asks you if you want to copy your messages from C: to E: so that they're still available to you once you switch over. If, OTOH, there is already a trace of E: having been used for storing messages (ie. if the messaging directory inside E:\Private does exist) then the phone considers that you might not want to clobber what's already there and doesn't offer to replace them with what's on C:.

  • Annoying iTunes bug

I've come across an annoying bug with iTunes. This was introduced about 2 or 3 versions ago, and it still present in 7.5.
If you press F2 to edit the name of a song inline and press the 'Delete' key (not backspace), this deletes the character in front of the cursor and completes the edit (as if you pressed return). It should not complete the edit!
Has anyone else come across this problem? I'm using Windows XP. I'm not sure how to report this problem to Apple, but I'd like to see it fixed in a future version. It definitely worked about 3 or 4 versions ago.
    Cheers,
    Neil

My iTunes does as you say, I never noticed it before. The problem does not occur when you edit in get info.
There is a feedback form if you feel like telling Apple.

  • Lr 1.2 Print resolution bug

I noticed that with Canon Cr2 (5D) files, in portrait mode only, the print resolution is wrong. Setting a 6"x9"print window for a 2912x4368 image with the Print Resolution is unchecked, Lr should report a 480+ print res. (485.33 dpi actual). It reports instead 324 dpi !?
This may be innocuous but i wonder if the calculations are also wrong when scaling is set.

That bug was present in 1.1 already. Surprised they didn't fix it. Apparently, the calculation of the print ppi does not know about the image rotation and uses the wrong image dimension to calculate ppi. In this case, it divides 2912 by 9", which is precisely 324. It should divide 4368 by 9 instead. Silly indeed.

  • Unbelievably annoying iTunes bug STILL in iTunes 9 =(

The ONE thing I was looking forward to most in iTunes 9 was a bug fix to a very, very annoying issue that I've sent in time and time and time again...... and the bug is still there!
If you type in a search scope in the iTunes player, and use the mini player (previously by clicking the green + icon, now by selecting the Mini Player option under View - another problem I have with iTunes 9 but that's for a whole new topic), and then hit the forward (skip) button a few times... all of a sudden music from your entire library starts playing. The search field is cleared.
How hard would this be to fix??? Come on, a big, revolutionary break through iTunes update and this crippling bug from iTunes 7 is still there?
    Yeesh.
Anyone from Apple care to comment? I need a fix for this yesterday.......

Anyone from Apple care to comment?
Sorry, but Apple engineers do not participate here.
I just tried it and the problem did not occur for me. I did a search for a particular artist which turned up a list of 56 tracks, started the list playing, switched to the miniplayer, then clicked the skip button repeatedly. The search never cleared and the main library never appeared. So it doesn't appear to be a bug that affects all installations, anyway.
Perhaps it's your library file that's at fault, not iTunes itself.

  • HDMI: Mini - Receiver - TV resolution bugs triggered by Screen Sharing

    Hi all,
I'm having an issue when connecting my Mini to my Samsung TV when running it through a receiver (Pioneer).  Before we had the receiver in the mix, this issue never came around.  Now that the receiver is involved, I believe this may be an issue related to the "handshake" that I've been reading about when HDMI devices try to connect to eachother.
    What works:
    - If I sit down on the living room couch, turn on the TV, receiver, and Mini, there are no issues.  The resolution is correct.
    - If I leave the TV off, receiver on, boot up the mini, and connect to it via OSX Screen Sharing... I am able to use it as a media center and play music through the mini and receiver, leaving the TV off to save power.
    What doesn't work:
If I try to switch between "living room" mode (couch / TV) and "Screen Sharing" mode, the resolution gets all fouled up and I need to reboot the mini in order to make it usable.  Here is a screenshot showing how it looks when trying to go from "living room" mode to "Screen Sharing" mode:
The only way to get out of here is to hold down the power button, forcing the mini to shut off abruptly, then reboot.
Conversely, if I try to switch from "Screen Sharing" mode to "living room" mode, it's a little different - the top and bottom of the screen is cut off.  Part of the dock is off of the screen, and the menu at the top of the screen is virtually gone.  With this method, I'm actually able to move the mouse off the screen and navigate to "Apple -> Restart" so that it reboots and starts working fine again.
I've been on the phone with Apple (yes, I have Apple Care) and they pointed me to Pioneer, saying that the mini was receiving instruction from the receiver.  When I called Pioneer, they had me turn off some "HDMI auto detect" features in the receiver but this did not resolve my problem.
Any suggestions?  Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    -Nate

this is not an elegant solution but here goes.  there may be something in the pioneer that would fix you but here is a solution around the receiver.   plug the computer video into an input on the tv.  if you use hdmi - you will need a separate audio out of the computer to the receiver.  program your remote control so that it switches the audio on the receiver to the separate audio from the mini and program the remote so it switches the tv input to the hdmi.  if you keep the hdmi to the receiver you will need a different video out of the mini to the tv.  its a little complicated but it should work.

  • ICloud Photo Library resolution bug(?)

Ok..so I enabled iCloud Photo Library after updating to iOS 8.1. Everything seemed ok except the fact that downloading to my PC a picture from beta.icloud.com saves a 2048 x 1536 res picture, rather than the full 3264 x 2448 original photo. Is this normal? I really can't find it's utility and it makes me anxious turning on the optimize storage feature....will this result in me losing all my full-res photos to 2048x1536 ones? Now, I know this is only a beta service, but this type of bug sends it back to a more like alpha stage in my opinion.
