X86 printer driver for 64 bit Windows 7

I have Windows 7 (64bit) on my computer.  I want to install an x86 driver for my HP Photosmart C6280 printer so my XP laptop can print to this printer through my home network.  I started by clicking on Devices and Printer, clicked on the Photosmart printer icon, right clicked the icon and selected Printer Properties.  I clicked on the Sharing tab and the change setting button.  I then selected Additional Drivers.  I put a check in the box next to x86 and clicked OK.  Windows wants me to provide the driver.  I can find it on the installation disk for the printer.
How do I get this driver installed on my computer?

If you were able to install anything for the printer, then uninstall it. Next, download the correct software from this location:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4063&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3194498
During the install you can select drivers only or the full software package, I believe.

  • Dowloading Deskjet 6840 driver for 64-bit Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I've had a Deskject 6840 on my wireless network for some time and have just taken possession of a new 64-bit desktop running Windows 8.1.  I tried to add the printer using the "Add Printer" facility of the Control Panel.  As the 6840 did not appear in the list of HP printers I did a Windows Update only to find that it still doesn't appear in the list.   I then visited the HP website and arrived at this page:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3854...
There are two downloads offered, but neither of them are the driver!  I tried downloading the Printer Install Wizard, but all that told me was that the driver was missing and to use the "Add Printer" facility of Windows, which I had already done!
My old desktop is bust and I'm unable to print on the new one so am having to work on my W7 laptop.   I'm getting a little exasperated.  Am I going to have to buy a new printer?  Has anyone got their 6840 working with Windows 8.1, if so how did you do it?

    Hi,
Try following these steps and check if that may help:
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type Change device installation settings.
    Click Change device installation settings.
If it is not already selected, select Yes, do this automatically (recommended), and then click Save Changes. Your Windows 8 computer can now automatically detect the most current in-OS printer drivers and then download and install them using Windows Update.
Now add the printer through the network and allow a few moments for the printer to install.
If the same persists, open the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.
Take a note of the printer IP address on that screen (Listed under the Addres column) and click on Add Printer and then click "The printer that I want isn't listed" link.
Select to add a printer using Standard TCP/IP and click on Next, then type the printer IP and follow the steps.
Once the printers list appear, click the Windows Update button and allow it some time. the list will re-appear once the updte completes.
Note: depanding on your internet speed it may take some time, 10-15 minutes are normal for the update to complete.
Select HP, then select the HP Deskjet 6800 Series and follow the steps to complete the wizard:

  • Is there a univeral printer driver for HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP on Windows 7 64 bit?

I had bought a HP Color LaserJet CM1312 Multifunction Printer last year - up to now I could print out via the computer of my doughter (Windows XP), but now this computer is bugged and I would like to be able to use also my own Windows 7 64 bit Computer. Unfortunately the "Full solution" does not work at all, while there also appears to be no Universal Printer Driver for my special printer. In other words: I can´t use the printer and I am upset (HP at its best?).
Is there any way to get a printer driver that does what it is supposed to do?

  • Windows 7 in OS printer driver for Deskjet 6840 not printing properly

The Windows 7 (32 bit) in OS print driver for the Deskjet 6840 produces print in "Normal" mode that is blurred (not properly registered left to right and slightly vertically). When printing in "Draft" mode it is apparent that the driver is not setting the left and right margins correctly, so that each line is alternately shifted left or right on the page. If I switch to a 500C driver, the printer works fine (but of course high res images do not print properly). This is occuring on two wired network computers, both running clean installs of Windows 7 professional with all current updates including Service Pack 1. Microsoft says, "It's a HP printer, it's their problem". I'm just looking for an answer. Anyone have experience with this?

    Hello Bhl3302,
Thanks for posting at NI forums! I think you should follow RavensFan advice on contacting the vendor for information on the driver’s support, or if you have a readme file, you could check on that. Also, are the Windows XP and Windows sharing the same architecture (32 or 64 bits)? Maybe the driver is not compatible with one of them, in case it changed. I did a quick search on the error message you're getting, and I found this forum in which they give some steps you could follow regarding the INF file. For instance, in one of the comments, they say they had a similar issue with another device and they found some work arounds.

  • Printer driver for HP LaserJet 4L with Windows 7

My Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system has a built-in driver for this printer model:
I don't know whether the driver is present on a fresh Windows install; it may only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button was clicked on the above Add Printers dialogue, then waiting (perhaps for several minutes) whilst additional drivers were downloaded, and the list repopulated.
I'd assume that the same might be true of earlier Windows versions as well.

  • Laserjet 1000 printer driver for windows 8.1

Need help to locate a printer driver for my laserjet 1000. Thanks for the help...

If your Windows 8 is 64-bit I think you are out of luck.
If your Windows 8 is 32-bit, you could try the Windows 7 solutions given in the earlier message. They might work with Windows 8.
The LJ 1000 is indeed a great printer and it is sad that HP has not continued to supported the customers who bought it.

  • Missing *.inf driver for 2605dtn and windows 7 64 bit

missing *.inf driver for 2605dtn and windows 7 64 bit
I just piurchased a new HP laptop with windows 7 64 bit installed.  I do not have any windows 7 disks.
Where do I obtain the necessary drivers for this printer?

    HI RandyJohnson,
You do not need to download drivers for this product. Print drivers for your product are available within the Windows 7 operating system. Use Devices and Printers, formerly known as the Add Printer Wizard, to obtain the Windows 7 update. For more information,  go to Install the Printer Driver through the Windows 7 Operating System (c02536257) (in English).

  • HP Cloud Print Driver for Windows Server 2003?

    Hello,
I have a unique (complicated) situation that I am trying to find a solution for.
    Here is the deal,
My company is trying to set up a temporary remote branch location inside a building where we are unable to wire a network. Our solution is to use a wireless hotspot. Connected to this hotspot, we will have an iPad and an HP Laserjet M525.
The iPad will be connecting to our Citrix environment over VPN through Citrix Receiver to deliver a desktop interface to the iPad. This is needed to access a few applications that are used at the branch.
The problem now is printing, AirPrint wont work because the iPad is on VPN (and its at a windows interface, not the iPad's).
I had the idea of using the HP printers built in ePrint function to print, so I set that up. So now sending at email to [email protected] prints to the HP printer attached to the wireless hotspot.
Emaling to print works, but ideally, I would like this printer to show up in the Windows Devices and Printers, so that the user can just click print, choose the HP printer, and it will print, (with a delay obviously as its sending an email).
So I downloaded the HP ePrint Windows Driver, which has to be installed on the main Citrix servers so that the users session can grab the printer and use it, turns out the driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003.
My first attempt at a workaround was Google Cloud Print, which was fairly simple to connect to HP ePrint, but apparently the Google Cloud Print Driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003 either.
Is there a version of the HP ePrint Driver out there that works on Windows Server 2003?
    tldr:
I would like to print to a remote HP printer that is connected to a wifi hotspot from our internal network. I need whatever software I download to be compatible with Server 2003.
I understand this is over complicated but thanks for any input.

I believe I understand your issue.  You would like to use a print driver to print to your HP ePrint enabled printer from your apps that are hosted by Citrix server.  While I believe this makes perfect sense, HP does not have a print driver that officially supports MS TS or Citrix that also supports the ePrint Cloud path.  The reason for this is the ePrint windows driver is a "dynamic" print driver (similar to HP UPD dynamic mode) that handles multiple print paths (tcp/ip, wireless direct, cloud, etc) in a single driver instance by dynamically changing the port the print queue is bound to so the port is specific to the delivery path.  For example, if printing to a network printer it will use a MS Standard tcp/ip port.  If printing to the ePrint cloud a custom port is used, etc.  Well, if you have lots of Citrix users trying to print to a single print queue, but to different destinations, the users would be colliding with each other when they print by having the driver trying to change the print queue to different print ports at the same time.
What you could do is install an ePrint print queue on the citrix server if you can control the access to that queue to just your local branch users.  Also, if you only have on ePrint enabled printer the situation is even better as only one port will be needed by that queue.  You can find the ePrint software at www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware   You might want to download the version of the driver that supports XP as Windows 2003 is very similar print system.
NOTE:  this is not a supported environment for this driver.  You would be using it without warrenty or support and no promises are being made here.
Good luck if you choose this path and please post back the results.  Thanks!

    Hi LChristofaro,
I have researched your error message and the Msiexec.exe error and it is an issue with windows installer. I recommend restarting your windows installer.
    To do this:
    1. Run "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks).
    2. Double-click "Windows Installer" in the Services list.
    3. Click Stop and click OK.
    4. Click Start and click OK.
Restart you computer and try the install again.
Let me know if this helped.
    Thank you,
