X99A Gaming 7 vs X99A SLI Krait

I can't find a difference other than color.  Are there any other differences between these two motherboards?
Oddly enough, both work with my color scheme, (Black/Red/White).  I noticed the Krait retails slightly cheaper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll compile a list of differences as they are reported.
1) Color (Gaming 7 Red/Black)(Krait White/Black)
2) Gig Ethernet (Gaming 7 Killer)(Krait Intel)

Wow, thank you for the comprehensive list.  Given the small difference in price, I ordered the X99A Gaming 7 Motherboard.
Edit/Update:  It doesn't look like i have the ability to edit my first post so i won't be updating the initial list.  I doubt there are any other differences than what you highlighted so their being on the second entry shouldn't be a problem.
Once again thanks.

Results: USB 3.1 VS. USB 3.0
ASMedia is the only company ready with USB 3.1 and Intel isn’t planning to build the technology into its chipsets any time soon. Neither Broadwell’s nor Skylake platform supports native USB 3.1. Moreover, MSI is the first company to announce its motherboard with USB 3.1 feature. MSI X99A GAMING 9 ACK will undoubtedly be a $400+ motherboard like X99S GAMING 9 ACK before it. Any users who want to enjoy the newest technology can choose MSI X99A motherboard to have the best using experience.

  • MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition

    MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition
why does the mother board not come equipped with an SLI connector??

Already according to manual the board does not come with an SLI bridge. It is very aggressively priced considering being meant for modding setups (normally to be paid premium). As it is quite cutdown to make this happen packing content is like to be expected of entry-level Z97 boards of the same price range.
Unfortunately unlike Nichrome said SLI bridges are never included with GeForce vgas so you'll need to get some from ebay or such. These are quite cheap.

  • Z97S SLi Krait Edition - Can't enable SLI?

    Hi
I'm trying to enable SLI on my Z97S SLI Krait Edition. I have an EVGA 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 in one slot, and an Asus Strix 970 in the other and I've connected the SLI Bridge. I can't enable in the Nvidia control panel. Does anyone have any suggestions please?
    Thanks

    This is what i would try;
-make sure slowest clocked card was in top slot but should make no difference tbh
    -uninstall all nvidia drivers
    -reboot in to safe mode
    -run DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
-reboot and install latest drivers as an admin even if you are one (right click, run as)
    -enjoy sli (hopefully)
Edit- forgot to mention that you should also make sure you got the latest bios on the board

  • What a ....... fancontroller on a Msi Z97S SLI Krait

Msi Z97S SLI Krait was a mb i quickly bought when my non msi mb had trouble booting.
I regret it, what a crapy fancotroller, it makes my fans artic F12 PWM a bit to loud, sometimes when they are a bit loud i open command center and
see fans running faster then i have set it to in bios and command center (the samme curve) and why is lower limited only 50% for case fans, i don't think it's low enough for ultra low noise fans that can rung 300-500 rpm.

Also note that even external fan controllers (those which go to drive bay) also have minimum of 50% up to 100% of power. Or Off (which is noted by the manufacturer that you turn it off at your own risk as it may damage the fan(s) )

  • X99A Gaming 7 Sound Issues

I recently built a system with X99a Gaming7 mobo, everything was fine for a week or so.  Now for some reason my headphones are not working properly.  They sound ok in test in both realtek audio mgr and sound blaster cinema 2, but in game (cs:go, witcher 3) not so good.  Missing footsteps, mic from other players, guns sound muted, etc.  The theme music in menu is fine.  I've tried many different things in cinema and realtek audio mgr, reinstalled both, from disk and realtek website.  Thing is since everything worked fine as I plugged them in, I'm not exactly sure what the settings were originally.  The only thing i can think of is I tried plugging in a mic but then removed it.   I just want my sound back the way it was.  running win 8.1, any help would be appreciated, thankyou

    Hi
Check Windows settings. If everything is working fine (all tests) then issue must be within games or Windows itself.
Are you able to try different headset?

Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.
For the boot stick: Download HP USB FORMAT TOOL.zip and win98boot.zip. Install HP USB FORMAT TOOL. Unzip win98boot.zip. Start HP USB FORMAT TOOL with the usb stick connected to your pc. Now choose to create a dos boot stick and point to the Win98 directory for dos system files:
    nvflash:
Put all files in the nvflash directory on the usb boot stick.
After booting from the stick you also put the vbios renamed to gop.rom on type: nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom

  • Z97 SLI KRAIT EDITION POOR ACCESSORIES

Hey all, just purchased a white and black krait edition for a new build, was going for gaming 7 but the style of this board just fit what i was building.
Has anybody else purchased one of these and if so did you get a bundle of goodies in the box ???
I have always gone with Asus in the past and have always had case badges, stickers etc etc in the box, MSI Krait nothing....
I was hoping for at least a sticker with the krait design to assist my build but nothing, also no cmos jumper on the board, support tells me thats correct and i know its a tiny piece but how do you cross if cmos needs reset, anyway minor issues but just wondered what other people received, hope the 2 x 4g gtx970s  that are due any day have something in there lol

No current board comes with a cmos jumper due to the already mentioned clear cmos button. Regarding accessorie note that the Krait edition is focussed on the clean look of it for casemodders' demand. Besides it is an entry level Z97 board and therefor being rather low priced for a Z97 board and offering the accessories to be expected on that price level. The Gaming 7 is a lot more expensive and therefor comes with more accessories. Hence you get what you pay for.
