Xact XVP640 USB voip phone from Skype 1.0

I went to the Xact website to download driver software, but its not working with newer versions of skype.
can you please hand me an iso cd rom image for all the software that came with the Xact xvp640?
The newer version of Skyp is not compatible with this usb phone, and the new version of Skype keeps locking up the computer here, lagging and won't stop messing up.
I don't need video chat, txt messaging and all that, just Skype 1.0 the skybee driver can't even tell the phone is plugged in from the newer driver for the unit.
an iso cd rom image for the Xact xvp640 would be appreciated, including the device driver and skype release that was on the cd rom. Thanks,
The Skype 5.0 is terrible, and does not work properly on this new computer.

A few days after I originally posted this and I have just solved the problem, nothing to do with the iMac or the VOIP phone.
I figured out that I needed to do some more configuration to the router I received from my new ISP in order to disable a hidden SIP setting hat otherwise prevents VOIP from working properly.

Running VOIP phone from shared LAN on iMac 27" running latest OSX Mavericks

Hi, I´ve got a mid 2011 27" iMac which has been updated to the latest version of OSX Mavericks.
I connect to the internet over WIFI from the router and have shared the WIFI internet connection with the ethernet port to connect my Aastra 6730i VOIP phone.
I work from home and I am able to make outgoing calls no problem but cannot receive any incoming calls and the phone displays a "no service" message on the screen.
I do not know if this is a IP configuration issue with the ethernet port on the iMac or if it is to do with the config of the phone itself.
The ethernet is configuring the IP address on the iMac using DHCP and currently gives a self assigned IP of 169.254.xx.xx with a subnet of 255.255.0.0.
The IP address programmed to the phone is 192.168.2.6, subnet of 255.255.255.0, gateway of 192.168.2.1 and primary DNS of 192.168.2.1.
I used to have this working fine and able to make and receive calls without any manual configuration, the only things that changed recently are I updated to the most recent OSX Mavericks (10.9.4) (was running Mavericks 10.9.3 previously) and that we moved house, same iMac, same handset, same LAN cable, just unboxed it all and connectd it all back up same as before.
I am no networking pro and have tried everything I can think of so far, if anyone out there has more experience or knowledge and has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! (and no running a LAN cable from the router direct to the phone is not an option)

Incorrect number on my cell phone from Skype?

In trying to set up my account I put in the number that was on my cell phone #759-73, and it says that is an incorrect number??? Please check and see if I have two accounts and am using the wrong number or what is happening.

Let me add to my earlier response. DO not even attempt to discuss this matter with comcast or their techs. They simply are unaware of the problem and can do nothing to fix it. Call Neustar at the number I gave you in ealrier post.. Tell them the problem and either have them delete your cellphone number from their data base or set the caller id to show city, state and your number. Deletion is probably better. Tech at Neustar did this told it would take effect in two hours and the problem was gone in 5 minutes. I am sick and tired of disconnects, talking to techs at comcast who barely can speak english, mumble, one told me today to go to the website and disable call blocking from my cell then call home and then reenable it after making the call. LMAO! Yeah, while driving down the road. This afternoon I got a call from a rather arrogant tech who didn;t want to hear the problem, didn;t undertand the problem and tried to blame the problem on my cell service. No problem when I call anyone outside of Comcast and it was corected once before . So the problem is with your cell phone number listing at Neustar. Since Comcast uses Neustar for their caller id numbers they should be be able to delete or correct entires but apparently cannot. Good Luck, my days with comcast are limited.

Philips Skype VOIP phone not signing in

There are a numerous amount of post accumulating daily on the chats here and no one including myself can sigh into skype with our VOIP phones. Philips has no idea why and suggest Skype did something. We can all sign into skype with our accounts...But when trying to sign into the phone even with the browser and our ip address it will not work. Something Skype did with their servers are the issue. These phones were expensive and we all want them to work.

its easy to resolve re set your phone to factory settings make sure your firmware is on autoupdate and then uplug everything from router plug back in and it should let you sign in then make sure in setting you have a network address if nothing is there rest your router and your philips box conect ethernets make sure they are full in and try to sign in again there must protocol in the networks page if not it is your router im constantly having to unplu my phillipds box from evrything and plug in all back in and it sorts it self outhope this helps jackie

The 7921g is connected via USB to a PC. I am using a browser to access the phone. Documentation says "Click the Phone Upgrade hyperlink under SYSTEM options. " but that option is not present or not visible.

Skype VOIP phone

Could someone recommend a Skype compatible phone that work with Mac?
I have been looking on the web and my choices a limited. To find a wireless or Bluetooth phone is close to impossible. I found this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833137003
but a display will be nice as well as nonwired.
Any body as some experience? It must be Skype compatible.

I'm in the same boat, except that I don't have a smartphone yet - but I'm already outlining the changes to my soho-network.
I guess you have to secure the mailserver (using SSL + TLS looks ok to me) and also secure the server as a whole: configure iptables to lock it down completely, except for as little ports as necessary: IMAPS and SMTPS, maybe even on an other-than-default port...
Maybe you are also interested in syncing your calendar: I will be doing that with davical on my server (running for 2 years now) and acal on my Android smartphone: no syncing, but native caldav between server and smartphone...
The other option would be to install openvpn on your server and always work via your VPN.

BEFSR41 fed from SPA2102 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router

urrently, a broadband cable modem is connected to the input of a new BEFSR41 4-port router. The router feeds 4 computers (a newer "primary" PC, and 3 secondary "old goats" that I use to print online grocery coupons). The 4 PC's are networked to share a common printer, a single directory on the "primary" PC, and using a 4-port KVM switch - I switch a single keyboard and mouse to whichever PC that I am using at the time.
I want to purchase a Linksys SPA2102 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router and integrate it into my existing system (noted above). This is probably a no-brainier for some, but I am new to routers and VoIP and that is why I am posting here, before buying the SPA2102.
According to the SPA2102 instruction manual that I downloaded from the Cisco website, there are two RJ45 connectors, one YELLOW and the other BLUE with the following typical connection configurations:
YELLOW . . . Connect one end of an Ethernet network cable (included) to the ETHERNET port of the Phone Adapter. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port of your PC.
BLUE . . . Connect one end of a different Ethernet network cable to the INTERNET port of the Phone Adapter. Connect the other end to your cable/DSL modem.
What I would like to do is, hopefully, simple and effective. I want to connect my cable modem to the SPA2102's BLUE connector, and from its YELLOW connector connect to the BEFSR41's input. Will this work, ensuring both the BEFSR41 and SPA2102 function properly?

if you have access to the device and it is not remotely provisioned by the VOIP company. try to change the registration expires to a 24 hour time period as well as well as the Resync Periodic: in the provisioning tab to 24 hours as well.

VOIP phone not getting IP from correct VLAN

We are installing a couple of VOIP phones in a new office, the VOIP service is hosted and the phones are Yealink. Off these VOIP phones are PC, but both the phone and PC get an IP from the DATA VLAN, I want the VOIP phone to go on it's VOICE VLAN.
Here is an example of the port, it is a Layer 2 switch (2960x):

Well known scam called my home phone from a Skype ...

Hi,
Recently I have been contacted 2 or 3 times a day at my home phone number from 'Computer Maintenance Department' or 'Windows Department', claiming my computer was sending them error messages. The latest phonecall came from Skype number 001 956 460 5604.
This is a well known scam where the perpetrators aim to convince their victims that their computer has a virus and then persuade them to allow remote access in order to 'fix' the problem.
As this came from a Skype number, how do I go about reporting this?
