Xalan and NetWeaver

Hi everybody
We are trying to deploy our application to NetWeaver 2004. Since our application needs Xalan 2.6, our test failed. Is there any way to use a different (newer) version of Xalan in NW? If this is not possible, is there any NW version that ships with Xalan 2.6?

Hi,
It really depends on what type of application you are referring to. Of course, there are different ways of setting up an external jar file as a library in different types of component (web module, EAR, WebDynpro etc).
Which one are you after?

Hi Experts,
Can anydoby explain me the difference between NetWeaver 7.3 and NetWeaver 7.03? or say difference between NetWeaver 7.2 and NetWeaver 7.02?
I have been confused by these 2 terms. As far as I know, the features of AS ABAP in NetWeaver 7.3 and NetWeaver 7.03 are almost same. The same applies to NetWeaver 7.2 and NetWeaver 7.02.
BTW, as I know the BS2011 are based on NetWeaver 7.03, PI 7.3 are based on NetWeaver 7.3.

Difference between NetWeaver 2004 and NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.1

I am little confused and curious to know the recent changes happening in SAP.
Can you please tell me the differences between NetWeaver 2004 and NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.1
NetWeaver 2004 is named because SAP has released it in 2004
and then we have XI 3.0, XI.7.0(that is PI right) , EP6.0 etc as individual components have different versions released in NewtWeaver suite.
But what is this NetWeaver 7.0.
We have EE5 or ECC6 and WebAs 6.4 or GUI 6.4 or recently GUI 7.o or WebAs 7.0.
How does all these differe, is individual component of NetWeaver upgraded with higher versions or total NetWever is upgraded with a higher version.
Can any one please tell me the exact difference between versions.
If some one has ECC6 installed in their environment does it mean that they have Netwaver components like XI, EP, MDM.. etc are installed or its only R/3, BI etc...

Xalan and Xerces

Where do I get the compatible versions of above jars to do XSL Transformations. Pls help... Tried to do lot of research and not able to do much. Lates Xalan does not have XSLTProcessor, XSLTProcessorFactory and XSLTInputSource. I tried to use older version of Xalan and found that Xerces is not compatible with it.

Xalan-Java version 2.6.0 distribution includes xercesImpl.jar from Xerces-Java 2.6.2.

XALAN and XERCES on WL6

Hi!
I just can't get WLS6.0 to use new versions of XALAN and XERCES. I keep
getting errors that are obviously because Weblogic is loading an older
version of XALAN before my app ever gets loaded, and as a result I'm having
trouble with <xsl:param> and <xsl:variable> tags not being able to recognise
other params and variables in the top level scope. This is crucial to my
application but after a day of messing around with everything from
classpaths to startweblogic.cmd, I'm pretty much stuck.
Does ANYONE know how to fix this?

CUA compatibility with 620 and Netweaver

Hi All,
We are planning to install CUA in production
Since we don't utilized much Solution manager 3.2. We planned to use solution Manager as CUA master / parent and NetWeaver servers 2004 as child.
But I am not sure if we can use 620 as master and 640 as client.
I am unable to find any notes on compatibility.
Please help us to find any known issues and best practice guide on it.

I have installed CUA in the described scenario (master in SolMan 6.20, clients in 6.40) without problems.
I prefer the SolMan as CUA master because it is the central admin system (RZ20, CCMS, ...).
There are some restrictions in LAW (license admin workbench). You have to upload the data of other clients via file. RFC is not possible, if LAW runs in 6.20.

Solman 7.1 and Netweaver 7.3 on the same server

Hi,
I am trying to install a new test environment for SAP Manufacturing execution 6.0.
That software requires Netweaver 7.3, which in turn requires Solution manager for applying Service packs.
My question is:
Can I install Solution Manager 7.1 and Netweaver 7.3 on the same application server running Windows 2008 R2 64-bit?
The DB will be MS SQL server 2008 64-bit.
I Have noticed the following so far:
- Solman requires much lower versions of JCE policy files than Netweaver. Will there be a conflict?
- Solman installation asks for Kernel NW 7.20. Why not Kernel NW 7.3?

BPM, Workflow and Netweaver - Need Clarification

Hi Guru,
I am new to workflow, BPM and Netweaver. I have several questions about those concepts.
1. What is/are the different between workflow and webflow. Which scenario should take workflow into consideration? Which scenario webflow can be applied to?
2. What is/are the different between workflow and BPM. If I am going to implement workflow in a company, do I need to implement business workflow as well as BPM?
3. I need clarification on Netweaver platform and concept.
4. What is/are the different between workflow in R/3 and workflow under Netweaver?
5. If I am going to implement workflow integrated with R/3 and Outlook email, do I need to buy new wrokflow for Netweaver and Netweaver platform or alternatively, I can use business workflow module under R/3 system?

Our system landscape consists of ECC 6.0 EHP4/NW 7.01 and Netweaver Portal 7.0 SP 14. We are thinking of upgrading our portal to SP 17. Will it lead to any compatbility issues with our ecc system? are there any dependencies?

The easiest way to know what SAP NetWeaver SPs aligns with SAP ERP/ECC SP stack or any other app's SP stack is the following:
- logon on to http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks
- click on the appropiate app's SP stack . SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP ERP 2005) your case as it also covers EhPs too.
- In the resulting screen, select the ECC SP level you have (or want) and NW components you have
- The resulting list will indicate what the NW patches you need to be in synch.

SolMan and NetWeaver together in an only system?

Although I have administered R/3 by eight years, I am taking my first steps in installation of NetWeaver. That is to say, I am newbie and I will thank for the aid of you.
For an installation of BI's evaluation (IT scenario: Enterprise Data
Warehousing), I need to know if it is possible to install Solution
Manager 4.0 SR2 and NetWeaver 2004s SR2 in the same server. Or, on the
contrary, if it is imperative that SolMan is installed in another
server(another system), separately of NetWeaver.
It is necessary to clarify that the principal target of this exercise
is to evaluate BI's possibilities; counting, for it, with an only server
and knowing full well that the performance it will be degraded.
For this particular case, SolMan would play the role of pre-requisite and
generator of the key that will allow us to continue with NetWeaver's
installation.
Finally, after a short period, the installation will discard, since,
parallelly, it continues in progress the real project of migration of our
R/3 systems, and BI's installation in the definitive landscape.

Hi Gustavo,
first of all - Solution Manager 4.0 SR2 is based on NetWeaver 2004s SR2.
So generally it should be possible to install the Solution Manager and then install the Usage Type Business Intelligence into the existing NetWeaver system. Both, BI and SolMan use the ABAP and JAVA Stack, so performance would not be impacted that much.
For testing this should be ok anyway.... Do a search in SMP if you can find any note about any incompatabilities between BI and SolMan (SolMan actually is a "CRM light" system).
