Xbox 360 can't even detect router in the house at all now???

My Xbox 360 was working just fine then my internet went out got that fixed now my Xbox 360 can't even detect a router in the house anymore. It can't detect a network,it doesn't even give me a wireless option to connect to on my 360,I ran the Linksys Easylink Advisor,it shows my 360 on there but it isn't lit up like it use to be. I called Linksys they can't even get it back online......I don't know what else to do to make it detect my 360,when they fixed my internet they bridged my router, don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
My Linksys Wireless Router Model # is WRT54GS

On your XBOX are you able to find anyother Wireless Networks? I think you need to make some changes on your Wireless Router as Well as on your XBOX, i think once you make all this changes on your router, this will solve your problem.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
Click on the Wireless tab

- Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
For Wireless Security : -

Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • XBox 360 can't get IP / Directv gets IP, but showing "local only"

I have two Linksys WRT54GL's using DD-WRT firmware.  One is serving as a router and broadcasting, while the other is serving as a wired bridge.  The wired bridge is working, a laptop wired up to it connects to the internet fine.  However, my Xbox 360 can't get an ip address, and DirecTV gets an IP address, but connects only to the local network, not the internet.  Any suggestions?  It doesn't seem to be the specific port, as I've used the laptop on all 4.

    Problem Solved!
First, I re-configured my AEBS to allow DHCP sharing of a public IP address.
Second, I re-set the new XBox 360 to its factory default settings.
Third, I used the search function on the XBox 360 to locate my home network and AEBS.
Fourth, I re-booted my modem (I'm a Comcast broadband user) and then re-booted my AEBS.
Fifth, I restarted my XBox 360 service.
Voila! My XBox 360 connected via my home network AEBS to the internet and now my 21-year old is out of my hair as he plays Halo!

When I got my ipod I made an account with iTunes right from my ipod.Yesterday, I made a password lock to get into my ipod and I couldn't get into it even though I did the correct one. Now it says"connect to iTunes" BUT I can't because I never registered on the computer. I've tried holding the home and sleep/wake button for 10 sec and then only the home for 5sec and that might have reset it, but it didn't help. If any of you guys know what to do so I can unlock it I would appreciate it VERY much.

If you haven't done so install iTunes on your computer. http://www.apple.com/itunes/

It looks like the card may be the problem, and your best bet is to try the Card Reader - this will make the card accessible by the Finder and you may be able to drag the pics off to the desktop or, at worst, try recover the pics with an app like MediaRecover

  • WRT54GS v4 developed increasing lag, now it can't get an IP from the modem at all.

I am connected wirelessly to my WRT54GS v4 over WPA2, and it's worked very well for years. About 2 days ago, the router started developing serious lag. Some web pages (CNN, Google, etc) would time out only to work OK 10 seconds later (or not.) A traceroute to the offending domain would show my second hop as timing out, with all other hops < 80ms. Sometimes I'd get 3 webpages (all on different sites) hanging at the same time, only to finally display 20 seconds later simultaneously.
That was all on firmware 1.06.1. I just upgraded successfully to 1.06.3, with absolutely no change. I held reset for more than 30 seconds with no change.
The router looks like it can't get an IP from the modem at all. Clicking the DHCP Renew button in the web interface just bounces back to the same page but doesn't show that it's picked up a valid IP address.
If I plug into my cable modem directly from my laptop, the connection is awesomely fast with zero hangs or hesitation.
    Can *anyone* help me please?

I was able to fix my problem by following alllll the instructions on this page: http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4572&p_created=11658...
I also remembered that I had been resetting my cable modem (by power-cycling it) once or twice a day because it was losing its signal. I wonder if that was part of the problem?

Did you check the box that says 'Synchronize Apps'? This happened to a friend and after she enabled this synchronization she was able to use her apps as she did before.

    Try this:
    1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo.

No, Apple does not take trade ins.  Your carrier may have different polices regarding trade ins. Best to contact them about it.
Alternatively you can use Apple's Recycling Program with one of their partners.  They will give you an Apple Store Gift card with the value they determine the iPhone has. And you can use the Gift card in the purchase of a new iPhone.
You can go here to see how much your current iPhone 4s is worth in the recycling program.

  • Does the Xbox 360 wireless adapter even work with the WRT54G wireless router?!!? If so, how???

I just bought a WRT54G wireless router (Ver 8.0; firmware updated to latest).  I have successfully connected my wireless laptop using WEP security, but I'm at wits end trying to get the Xbox 360 wireless adapter to work.  (It worked just fine with my Netgear router until that router recently died.)
When I do the "Test Media Connection" routine (you XBox 360 users know what I'm referring to), the Xbox immediately recognizes the Network Adapter and indicates that it is connected to the Wireless Network, but it inevitably fails the next step in the process:  IP Address.  I have the set-up for the IP address to be assigned automatically by the router (which is set for  DHCP Server enabled).
I have gone around the mountain innumerable times myself and then with well-meaning friends who say try this, try that, try this, try that.  I've had to re-establish my laptop set-up so many times I wanna scream!
Are the Xbox 360 wireless adapter and the WRT54G even compatible?  If so, what am I missing here?  I'm not too technical and obviously in over my head, but this ought not be that hard.
Please, please do NOT respond unless you KNOW the answer!  I don't mean to be curt, but I'm over / past "suggestions to try."
Thank you VERY much for your time and consideration if you can help me.

I don't think that the X-BOX adapter is not compatible to wireless rotuer .... there are few settings you can try on the router ... Access router setup page ... Please click on the tab "Application and gaming" and click on sub tab "Port range forwarding" 1) On the first line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 88, in end box type in 88, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 2) On the second line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 3074, in end box type in 3074, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 3) Now save the settings 4) Once you return to the setup page, click on the tab "Administration" and disable the UPNP and save the settings. 5) Now assign the given ip address on your xbox ip address :- 192.168.1.20 subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0 default gateway :- 192.168.1.1 Please assign the dns address on the xbox primary dns :- 4.2.2.2 secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1 6) Please try to test your xbox live. Hope it works ...

  • XBOX 360 can no longer connect

My BT homehub router completely stopped working after a lightning storm a couple of weeks ago.  I got sent a new router and sent the old one back.  Plugged it in and everything worked great.
Unfortunately I started up my xbox 360 today and it can no longer connect to the router.  It is wired directly to the router.  I can't even get to the screen when it asks me to configure the network.
I have tried changing the cable, unplugging everything and plugging everything back in, switching everything on and off, resetting my xbox to factory settings.  I'm completely at a loss.
    Can anyone help?!

It could be that they have sent you a refurbished homehub. Try a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess on the rear for about 20 seconds. This will reset the homehubs configuration settings.
Retry connecting your xbox. If it still won't connect try connecting to a different port on the hub. If it still won't connect can you plug a laptop or your PC into the hub to ensure that the ports are OK.

  • Having lag problems on the XBOX 360 - connecting to WRT160N wireless router.

Having lag problems when playing on the XBOX 360(wireless connection) after we installed our new WRT160N wireless router. Looking for ideals on how to fix this performance problem?
    Cable Conpany: Comcast
    Modem Model: zoom
    Wireless Router Model: Linksys WRT160N

    A few more thoughts:
    - Changing the channel settings does NOT achieve anything. I manually tried every setting with no success.
    - Changing the encryption settings did not help. I tried "open", WEP and WPA and none of them work.
    - Even when this problem shows up, the xbox360 wireless adapter successfully finds and associates with the wireless network. It even manages to read data from the network - it just does it VERY SLOWLY and disconnects often. This causes extreme lag in xbox live games, which shows up as unpredictable play and disconnects from games.
    - The fact that G-only mode works fine pretty much proves that this problem can be fixed with a firmware change. The xbox360 wireless adapter and the WRT160N can definately talk to each other using 802.11g successfully so there must be some issue with negotiating the correct version of 802.11x.
    - I've considered trying a third-party firmware, such as DD-WRT to see if this fixes the problem. Has anyone tried this and if so what happened?
If you are seeing this problem, please reply to this thread and say so. If enough people respond perhaps Linksys will fix the problem. Even if you're not registered with this board, registering is very quick and easy so don't let that deter you.
    Thanks

  • Airport - Can't even detect home network

    Hi
I have MBP and was initially having the same problems with connections getting dropped every 2 mins. However, this problem happens only at my home where I have a Linksys Wireless-N home router. I run this only on 802.11g mode though because other laptops at home are older and don't support N.
The problem of dropping connections never came in my office. I can still connect and work seamless there though.
Suddenly, now my MBP has stopped even detecting my wireless at home. Other laptops at home (which are Dell and Lenovo running windows XP and Vista) can detect and connect to the home wireless without any trouble.
Even iStumbler doesn't show the wireless network at home.
    What should I do?

Also, when I try to manually enter the details and connect, it gives connection timed out as the first error which on trying to reconnect says connection failed.
Does there exist some log file which can be consulted and the error be identified better ?
