Xbox disconnects when laptop connects to network

My Xbox 360 disconnects from the network everytime my laptop connects. I have static IP on my 360 and automatic IP on my laptop.
I tried putting my Xbox on automatic, still didnt work.
I tried putting my laptop to manual - it worked but I can't leave it like this because I connect to different networks (school, home, work, etc).
Other computers/consoles dont get disconnected when I connect with my laptop.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

As you are already using static Ip on X-BOX, forward ports 88 & 3074 for the same Ip
Also try this setting:
Channel – 1or 11
Beacon interval – 75
RTS & fragmentation threshold – 2306

How can java programs execute automatically when it connects to network. What is "it"? That is, execute when what connects to the network?
Your computer? If that's what you mean, this is not a Java question. It's an OS operational/administrative question. Executing any program, whether written in Java or not, based on some system event has to do with that system, not with the program. If it's possible to do this, you'd do it exactly the same way for a Java program as you would for any other program.
Or is "it" the program itself? If this is what you mean, then it's a nonsensical question. For the program to connect to the network and detect that it has connected to the network, it must already be executing, so asking how to execute it at that point is meaningless.
Finally, I'll point out that "connecting to the network" is a pretty meaningless phrase. Or rather, it has so many potentially valid meanings that it's impossible to know which one you're referring to when you use that phrase. And I'd be willing to bet you don't have a clear picture of that yourself.

  • ITunes Slow When Computer Connected To Network

    Hi All,
I have never seen this before until now.
I have a user who has an iPhone and iTunes installed, PC decent spec, running Kaspersky AV.
When not connected to the network the iPhone syncs fine and iTunes flies!
When connected to the network iTunes takes approx 5 minutes to open, sync hangs or takes hours and never completes and navigating through iTunes takes an age.
I have disabled Kaspersky to see if that was the problem and it isnt.
I have switched off all settings in iTunes that could interect with the network and that has not corrected the issue.
If i unplug the network cable it starts to fly again!!
    Anyone else seen this?

Same deal here. I thought the problem was with my iPad or iPhone4, until I happened to try something when the computer (XP Pro SP3) was disconnected from my home network. Until then the iPad would not be recognized by iTunes, but I could see it in My Computer. This computer is also used at my office and is part of our Domain. I didn't seem to have this problem at work, so perhaps this has something to do with it. Unresolved for now.

  • BB8900 bt disconnects when roaming to other network

Hi, I'm having a BB8900 and experiencin g trouble with BT when i roam onto another network when abroad.
Basically, the BB will disconnect the BT connection to the in-car system/hand sfreeset when i pass the boarder.
I've tested it with another phone and everything went just fine......y et when trying this with the bb, it simply disconnects .
Accordingvto the desktop sw the bb is updated with the latest os/firmware .
I already got a new sim from tmobile netherlands .
As long as. I say on my own network in the netherlands all works fine.
Tmobile can not provide any help as they do not know the problem......they offered a bt headset
As long as i stay in my own country and connected to my 'home-tmobile' network it all works fine.
It's very annoying to have a working in carsystem but driving around with the bb cabled headset.
Does anyone have such problems... ....and whats the resolution to this?
    Many thanks for your feedback.

Does you carrier have roaming agreements with the carriers of the other countries?
FYI, you need to have Data Roaming turned on to use data on those carriers.

  • Time Capsule disconnects when I connect my external hard drive

All my software is up to date, but when I connect my Western Digital external hard drive to the Time Capsule's USB port, the Time Capsule disconnects from the internet, my PC (which is connected via ethernet), and my MacBook Pro (via wi-fi). Sometimes it'll work okay for a few hours and then just goes incommunicado later in the day. If I remove the external hard drive from the USB port and restart, I have no problems. But once I plug it back in, it happens all over again. What's going on here?
Message was edited by: Ed Rocker

That'll work as well, just not as convenient when you are on the go. You may want to pick one of these up as well. (not sure which plug you need, but there are a bunch of different ones on ebay).

  • Network Interruption when Laptop connects

    Hello All
    - I have WRT54G V5 with firmware 1.00.6 connects to ADSL Sagem modem
    - 1 PC with Sitecom network adapter running on WIN XP Pro connect to Router through WAN
    - 1 vaio laptop with builtin Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG version 9.0.4.17 running on WIN Home connect to Router though WAN
The problem occures while I have my pc connected to the router, when I try to connect my laptop to the router the whole network iterrupts and it connects back automatically.
So I am confused why this interruption on the network when i try to connect my laptop to it. The connection goes back to normal when both PC and Laptop reconnect to the network.
I'll be glad to provide more info about the situation, but maybe someone could fill me up on why this is happening.
I have tried manual DHCP and automatic and still the same problem.Message Edited by ZinG on 08-21-2006 03:55 PM

Don't think it is the router's problem.
I've just found this symptom on Intel's website.
    http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-022509.htm
But I am not sure if it applies to your Laptop, since it has a different Intel Pro Wireless version. But you can probably tell it is a laptop problem since it only occues from the laptop and not from any other Computers you try to connect.
Maybe I am wrong but you can tell us what is your Wifi adapter on your Laptop?

  • All Office 2010 Applications Slow To Produce "OPEN" or "SAVE AS" Dialog Box ONLY When PC Connected To Network

    Hello all,
Frustrating problem: ALL Office 2010 apps require a 45 second delay to produce an "open" or "save as" dialog box when the computer is connected to a LAN (wireless or wired, domain or workgroup). When the computer is NOT connected to a LAN (wireless or wired,
domain or workgroup), then Office 2010 "open" or "save as" dialog boxes open normally (and quickly).
I suspect a network search/survey function internal to MS Office is at fault.
This is NOT the infamous mapped network drive problem associated with Office 2007/2010. There are no mapped drives (nor have there ever been) on the PC, although there might exist a related solution. Additionally, there is no 45 second delay when opening
a file by double-clicking on the file itself which will launch the application.
    Other information:
    1. PC runs Windows 7 Pro 32 bit - PC is a relatively new Lenovo T400 laptop, all updates from Lenovo and MS installed, running clean and nicely otherwise, no spyware, no viruses, no previous software or hardware issues requiring assistance. Event log is
    clean.
    2. Absolutely fresh installation of Office 2010 Pro Plus (MS Action Pack)
    3. Running Office apps in safe mode does not alter problem behavior (ie, "windword.exe /a" or use CTRL key and double-click to launch app)
    4. Running Windows 7 in safe mode with networking and then subsequently testing Office apps is not possible: "license not able to validate" issue. This is a known problem and is not related to the slow dialog box response behavior.
    5. A desktop PC with the same MS Office 2010 installation, same volume license key, on the same network does NOT produce this problem.
    6. Full uninstall, reboot, and re-install of Office 2010 does not alleviate problem
    7. Disabling ALL startup items and services (including, of course, ALL Lenovo management software) does not alleviate problem
    8. SMB v2 bug is not the problem: ie, disabling mrxsmb20 service does not alleviate symptoms.
    9. I have isolated "Client for Microsoft Networks", "QOS Packet Scheduler", "Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver" (and Responder), and "Printer and File Sharing for MS Networks" in the network adapter properties are NOT causing the issue.
    10. Using Sysinternals Registry Monitor, I was able to determine that Office apps evaluate certain properties of your Internet Explorer settings before attempting to launch the "open" or "save as" dialog box. Altering the way intranets are detected, for
example, does not alleviate the symptoms.
    11. Turning off Antivirus software (Avira Personal) does not alleviate the issue.
This issue is causing a huge loss of work efficiency. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.
    Sincerely,
    Rick

    Hello Rick,
Through all the research I have done so far and talking with a few other coworkers what the common issues that cause this are is:
    1. Antivirus: disabling the antivirus is not good enough it needs to be totaly uninstalled and retested.
    2. startup programs: these need to be disabled through either Safe mode with networking or the start menu or MSconfig.
    3. Office addins: Disable all of them see if that helps. Then turn them back on one by one to see which addin is causing the issue.
To disable addins: 1. open up regedit and navigate to this key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Addins and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins
Then change the LoadBehavior to 0 this will disable the addin. 3 lets it run. Since this affected only one user HKEY_LOCAL_USER might be your best bet but don't rule out the other location.
To verify there are no addins running go to the File tab>options>Add-Ins make sure nothing is listed under Active Application Add-ins.
    I hope this helps
    Thanks,

  • MacBook internet disconnects when I connect BB10 with USB

Everytime I connect my phone to my laptop via the usb (supplied with orignial device) the internet on my MacBook disconnects and I lose my VPN connection.
It seems the Z10 creates a new 'Blackberry' Network connection which overrides my computer settings. If I disable this connection it is simply recreated the next time I connect my Z10 and my internet disconnects and I lose my VPN connection.
Any idea how I can prevent this? I could do with a setting to switch this behaviour on or off rather than the Z10 assuming I want to use it to connect.

    Hey 8lettersuk,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I have a few questions before I get started:
    1. Are you using Cisco AnyConnect as the VPN client on your Mac?
    2. What version of BlackBerry 10 are you currently running?  Go to Settings>About to find this information.
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Hub Resetting only when Laptop connected

    Hi,
I would be grateful for any pointers or advice on how to solve or track down the following problem.
I have a BT Business Hub which is connected by cable to a desktop PC and by wireless to two laptops.
( The laptops are only very occasionally used at the same time as the desktop, which is my main machine
and is used virtually all day)
Up until recently all three computers could be connected to the Internet without any issues, but
recently when one of the laptops is in use ( and it's always the same laptop ), my business Hub
resets itself and the connection is lost before being re-establised.
Odd as it sounds, this only happens occasionally, but as far as I can work out, only when the
troublesome laptop ( which is otherwise operating fine) is in use and connected to the Internet.
I could be going off on the wrong track, but would the laptop in question be capable of sending data
to the hub which would cause the hub to reset? And if so, what can I do to detect the problem?
Apologies for the vagueness of this query, as I am slightly confused as to what might be going on.
    Thanks
    DL

  • Slow Finder startup when not connected to network

I use a Linksys BEFW11S4 router/WAP for my home network. The Linksys connects my iMac (ethernet), iBook (wireless) and an Airport Express. I decided I would control my son's access to the internet by using the Linksys router software, which is password-protected, to enable or disable the network connection.
However, I'm finding that when the network connection is disabled, the Finder loads very slowly upon startup. The dock appears fairly quickly, but a color pinwheel spins for a couple of minutes before the Finder menu bar, desktop file and volume icons and any windows I've left opened appear on the desktop. When the network connection is enabled, startup occurs normally . This situation occurs whether I'm on the iMac or the iBook.
Does anyone know a reason for this behavior?
    iMac G4 17; iBook G4 1.33 Mhz 14; iPod 3G 20GB   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I talked to Linksys technical support, and they told me this behavior was normal. As long as my computers are connected to the router, they will hunt for an Internet connection on startup. (I found this was true even when I physically disconnected my DSL modem from the outer.) It seems that the lengthy delay in getting the Finder loaded is unavoidable in that case. Good work, Jase!

  • Java web server error when not connected to network

If my laptop is not connected to a network, when I execute the java web server, it fails at start up with the exceptions listed below. When debugging, I need access only to local host, so it seemed reasonable to me that the web server should execute in the absence of a network.
I just found that I get the same failure, if I'm connected to the network via a dialup connection.
Any ideas on how to configure my system so that the web server will function in the absence of a network connection?

  • Google Print works only with personal laptop connected to network

Hi, I have three printers under my HP Connected account (Officejet Pro 8600, Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, and a Officejte Pro 8100) and I am able to print to them fine from my computer (a MAC laptop).
The access for all three is "open to anyone" and I also listed specific e-mail addresses too of family members to use these printers.
The only way that my kids (all using chromebooks and google print for school) can use these printers is if mine is on the network.  If my computer is off/sleeping, the printer shows up as "offline."  Print jobs are put into a queue, and when mine is turned on and hops on the network, the jobs print.
The problem is I'm not always home!  I travel quite a bit, and they're at home unable to print.
This has been frustrating me to no end!!!  Is there a setting that I'm missing?

All I can suggest at this time is to have the Chromebooks forward the prints to the printer's ePrint Email address, thus bypassing the Google Cloud Print. I do know now, nor have access to the means for deleting a printer from Google Cloud Print.
You will be best suited to speak with Google regarding that. I hope you don't feel as though I am "passing the buck", but I can not locate any more information that could help. Please let us know here if Google is able to re-setup the Cloud Print.

  • Windows 7 laptop connects to network - not internet

1 week ago there was a power outage in my neighborhood that lasted about 6 hours.  Afterwards, I was not able to connect to the internet and the battery backup alarm was beeping.  The battery was replaced (the beeping stopped) but I could no longer get online.  Verizon determined that there was a problem with the router (internet light was yellow) so they sent out a new actiontec (red ring).  After connecting it and running the in-home agent, my PC (which is wired into router) works.  My laptop, however, connects to the network but can still not get internet access (it says "unidentified network").  Verizon claims this is an issue with the laptop.  My wife brought her work laptop home - same problem.  My brother-in-law brought his laptop over-  again the same message there.
This, to me, is not an issue with the laptops, but rather with the router - and creates a problem as my wife works from home next week and must use her work laptop - which at this point will not work.
    Any suggestions?

Presumably you have switched over to the new SSID.  Also these new routers use WPA2 security by default.  The passphrase is case sensitive for WPA2.  On your previous router it was probably WEP security and a Passkey (in hex) that was not case sensitive.
IF it is really connecting to the network but unidentified network, click on windows 7 network and identify your network as a trusted home network.

  • Imported Photos when NOT connected to network drive is missing

I connect to external disk drive for my photos.
But when I wasn't connected to the drive, I imported photos just fine - was able to see them all (the just imported one). I could see "blank" thumbnails for the network photos (because I wasn't connected).
Next time I connected to the external drive, the photos i just imported, when I wasn't connected was missing?
    ANY HELP? PLEASE? THANKS.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
My guess is you have two libraries. One is on the external, has all the older pics, the other has the new additions.
To find the other, go to the Finder Go Menu -> Go to Folder and type in /Volumes/The Name of Your External HD...
Can you see the opther library there? If so, drag it to the desktop, and then use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the libraries.
