Xbox One Gaming System Volume

Hello, I just purchased a Lenovo All-in-One Desktop (C40-05 Model) and I'm attempting to hook up my Xbox One gaming systme to the monitor. I've hook the HDMI into the HDMI IN port on the back and I have picture and sound. The problem is that the sound is very loud and I don't know how to change the volume. I also plugged a pair of headphones into the side of the monitor attemping to use those to lower the volume, but I get no sound of them. I'm assuming that audio port is only for the PC portion. Any help would be great, thanks.

Hi chicaloca302,
This week is a pretty stellar time to pick up an Xbox One at Best Buy and jump into the next generation of gaming! We’re running quite a few promotions that seamlessly coincide with one another and offer some fantastic benefits to picking up the console this week. The free Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) membership with a purchase of the console is probably the best perk, in my opinion, and I’m more than happy to provide further detail about the offers this week.
The Epic Gaming Bundle you speak of is a fantastic package that offers a great amount of savings. However, the Xbox One promotions this week, when purchased together offer similar savings, but in a slightly different fashion. If you purchase an Xbox One this week, you’ll receive a free membership to GCU and a free game of your choice. Furthermore, our current Xbox Live offer gives you $20 savings on Xbox Live when you purchase an Xbox One. The $20 savings applies to both the 12-month Xbox Live membership, as well as the 24-month membership.
Since GCU can only be joined in-store, at least currently, you would want to visit a Best Buy store to take advantage of these specific promotions! Feel free to take a look at our Weekly Ad on BestBuy.com, as it’ll give a visual representation of these promotions.
I hope you find this information helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,

  • Controlling TV Speakers Indirectly with Apple Remote via System Volume

My Mac Mini is connected to a Sony TV via an HDMI cable.  I would like to control the volume of the TV speakers indirectly by controlling the Mac Mini system volume with my Apple remote.  But when I attempt to change the volume the speaker icon appears and is grayed out.
What do I need to do in order to control the TV speakers indirectly with my Apple Remote by adjusting the Mac Mini system volume?

As standard Macs do not support controlling the volume of an attached TV connected to the HDMI port. This feature is called CEC (Consumer Electronics Control).
There is at least one adaptor which can 'insert' the CEC commands, see http://www.pulse-eight.com/store/products/104-usb-hdmi-cec-adapter.aspx
This adaptor however requires the software you are using to have support for driving this adaptor, therefore it does not look like the generic Mac volume control in association with the Apple remote would control it. Why you ask did I mentioned it then? Well XBMC (XBox Media Center) for the Mac does supprt this adaptor, you can therefore use XBMC on the Mac to play movies to your TV and control the volume of the TV.
If you can write software, you could also in theory use their library to add a more generic volume control.

  • Xbox one to iMac

hi i have an Apple iMac MF883B/A All-in-One Desktop Computer, Dual-core Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 500GB, 21.5" and i was wondering if i could hook up my xbox one with it and if so what i would need?

    Hi graphic__designer,
From your question, it sounds like you are asking about Target Display Mode, a feature that allows certain iMac computers to function as an external display for certain other Macs. With regards to using it as an external display for a gaming system like an XBox, you may find the following article helpful:
Can I use the iMac in TDM as a display for my gaming console, DVD player, or other device?
The Mini DisplayPort port on a supported iMac can receive DisplayPort compliant video and audio signals. Converters not made by Apple may provide options to convert other electrical, video, and audio protocols to Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt compliant signals.

stuff. please clariffy. and one other thing. i really really rreally " i cant say enough" but when i buy a new system i want the system to be able to play old games from the system before"as in the 360"  for instance i bought gears
of war 3 stuff dlc and i wont be able to use it in xbox one. i bought the expensive stuff rams shadow.  all i ask is you guys make 360 games playable on the xbox one. if you do that i will be the first buyer of the xbox one.  also congrats on the

I thought there was a Microsoft user forum dedicated to the Xbox gaming system, but I cannot find one.  However, if you do a search in Google or Bing using the keywords Xbox user forum, I think you will find a number of user forums available to you.
    Hope this helps.

  • Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition Starter Pack - Xbox One?

So, I see that all of the other versions of Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition Starter Pack are on the site for pre-order, but the Xbox One version is missing.  When will it be available for pre-order?  And since it was announced for all platforms at the same time, I'm a little confused why all the preorders didn't open at the same time.

    Hello dark54555,
Honestly, it’s quite odd that we’d have virtually every version of the Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition Starter Pack available for pre-order on BestBuy.com, but not for Xbox One. Furthermore, the fact that the Xbox 360 version is available would understandably cause some confusion and I sincerely apologize as it sounds like confusion is exactly what this has resulted in for you!
While most video game pre-orders are listed around the same time for each gaming system the game is being released on, there are multiple reasons why one specific title may be delayed. Needing more information from the vendor about the product is a great example of one of these reasons. My best suggestion would be to keep an eye on BestBuy.com, as it’s quite likely the Xbox One version will be added when we have all the necessary information! However, please know this is merely speculation based on Best Buy having all of the other versions listed. If I receive any further information on this, I’ll be sure to update this thread.
Thanks for your feedback and please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

  • Destiny Digital Guardian edition for Xbox One?

Will best buy be stocking the Digital guardian edition for Xbox One as well? Or just Sony systems?
Also if you guys are getting codes for Xbox will I get them before the game launch so I can Pre-Load?

    Hello mastersword59,
I’ve recently started getting more into the digital download aspect of gaming and so far, I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit! Traditionally, I was always a fan of having the physical copy of a game. However, I feel that many people, myself included, are starting to stray away from physical copies due to the convenience of digital downloads. Thanks for your question about Destiny, specifically in regards to the Digital Guardian Edition.
I don’t believe that we’ll be carrying the Digital Guardian Edition of Destiny on Xbox One, especially considering we’re this close to the game’s release and it’s not listed. After a bit of digging, it seems that Xbox Live Marketplace may be your only means of obtaining it. You may wish to purchase an Xbox Live Gift Card to assist with your purchase, should you choose to go that route. Click here to head over to BestBuy.com and see what we have available for Xbox Live currency!
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
    Thanks,

  • Port forwarding for XBOX One on Airport 6.3.1

Hi there, firstly i'm going to have to say i'm not particularly technical whatsoever when it comes to computers but i'll try and be as precise as possible.
I purchased an XBOX One console last week along with several games. They all work fine both offline and online for multiplayer gaming.......all that is except for Call of Duty Ghosts. When I load this game up with the disc in the drive the multiplayer option only allows me to select 'Local Play' (offline with bots essentially).  I've tried erasing profiles, deleting and re-installing the game but the same issue happens. As I say, every other game works fine when it comes to playing online.
I spoke to Microsoft who informed me that my ISP (Suddenlink) will open up the following ports: Port 88 (UDP), 374 (UDP and TCP), 53 (UDP and TCP) and 80 (TCP) and that they will also do 'double NAt-ting'. I contacted my ISP and they informed me that they can't do that due to all sorts of security risks - trojan virus etc - and that if I want those ports to be open I will have to do it myself or "get somebody else to do it who is tech savvy".
If it helps I have an Arris modem (TM602G/115) and the router being used is the Airport Utility. According to my registered Apple product purchases it looks like I have an Airport Extreme 802.11n (4th Gen). Today I updated it to get the latest firmware/update so I think it's as up to date as it can be.
So essentially i'm wondering what screens to go into and what to type into the boxes to get this game to work so that I can play it online with friends because neither Microsoft or my ISP are willing/able to do this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

For the record I did read the following post - I followed the instructions and changed the settings but i'm still presented with the 'Local Play' only options in the multiplayer section for Call of Duty Ghosts. Again, every other game works, it's just this one which is causing issues.

  • The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR.

    Hi!
I recently took over management of a Windows 2003 domain that had only one domain controller.  I was building a second DC for redundancy and discovered that the SYSVOL share on the original DC is in "JRNL_WRAP_ERROR" after the SYSVOL and NETLOGON
share would not create on the new DC.  This error goes back as far as the log goes back so I don't know how long it has been in this state.
The message in the event log states to enable "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore" but I found a KB article that says to use the BurFlags key instead. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290762
Should I run an authoritative restore since I don't have another domain controller with a good SYSVOL?
The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR.
Replica set name is    : "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)"
Replica root path is   : "c:\windows\sysvol\domain"
Replica root volume is : "\\.\C:"
A Replica set hits JRNL_WRAP_ERROR when the record that it is trying to read from the NTFS USN journal is not found.  This can occur because of one of the following reasons.
[1] Volume "\\.\C:" has been formatted.
[2] The NTFS USN journal on volume "\\.\C:" has been deleted.
[3] The NTFS USN journal on volume "\\.\C:" has been truncated. Chkdsk can truncate the journal if it finds corrupt entries at the end of the journal.
[4] File Replication Service was not running on this computer for a long time.
[5] File Replication Service could not keep up with the rate of Disk IO activity on "\\.\C:".
Setting the "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore" registry parameter to 1 will cause the following recovery steps to be taken to automatically recover from this error state.
[1] At the first poll, which will occur in 5 minutes, this computer will be deleted from the replica set. If you do not want to wait 5 minutes, then run "net stop ntfrs" followed by "net start ntfrs" to restart the File Replication
    Service.
[2] At the poll following the deletion this computer will be re-added to the replica set. The re-addition will trigger a full tree sync for the replica set.
WARNING: During the recovery process data in the replica tree may be unavailable. You should reset the registry parameter described above to 0 to prevent automatic recovery from making the data unexpectedly unavailable if this error condition occurs again.
To change this registry parameter, run regedit.
Click on Start, Run and type regedit.
    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
    Click down the key path:
       "System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters"
Double click on the value name
       "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore"
    and update the value.
If the value name is not present you may add it with the New->DWORD Value function under the Edit Menu item. Type the value name exactly as shown above.

    > Should I run an authoritative restore since I don't have another domain

The automatic restore process AFAIK will initiate a D2 restore. And if
there's no other DC, sysvol might be gone.
I really would prefer to have control - this means I would do a D4.
    Absolutely I would :)

  • Windows Server 2012 - Hyper-V - Cluster Sharded Storage - VHDX unexpectedly gets copied to System Volume Information by "System", Virtual Machines stops respondig

We have a problem with one of our deployments of Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V with a 2 node cluster connected to a iSCSI SAN.
    Our setup:
Hosts - Both run Windows Server 2012 Standard and are clustered.
HP ProLiant G7, 24 GB RAM. This is the primary host and normaly all VMs run on this host.
HP ProLiant G5, 20 GB RAM. This is the secondary host that and is intended to be used in case of failure of the primary host.
We have no antivirus on the hosts and the scheduled ShadowCopy (previous version of files) is switched off.
    iSCSI SAN:
    QNAP NAS TS-869 Pro, 8 INTEL SSDSA2CW160G3 160 GB i a RAID 5 with a Host Spare. 2 Teamed NIC.
    Switch:
DLINK DGS-1210-16 - Both the network cards of the Hosts that are dedicated to the Storage and the Storage itself are connected to the same switch and nothing else is connected to this switch.
    Virtual Machines:
    3 Windows Server 2012 Standard - 1 DC, 1 FileServer, 1 Application Server.
1 Windows Server 2008 Standard Exchange Server.
All VMs are using dynamic disks (as recommended by Microsoft).
    Updates
We have applied the most resent updates to the Hosts, VMs and iSCSI SAN about 3 weeks ago with no change in our problem and we continually update the setup.
    Normal operation:
Normally this setup works just fine and we see no real difference in speed in startup, file copy and processing speed in LoB applications of this setup compared to a single host with two 10000 RPM Disks. Normal network speed is 10-200 Mbit, but occasionally
we see speeds up to 400 Mbit/s of combined read/write for instance during file repair.
    Our Problem:
Our problem is that for some reason a random VHDX gets copied to System Volume Information by "System" of the Clusterd Shared Storage (i.e. C:\ClusterStorage\Volume1\System Volume Information).
All VMs stops responding or responds very slowly during this copy process and you can for instance not send CTRL-ALT-DEL to a VM in the Hyper-V console, or for instance start task manager when already logged in.
This happens at random and not every day and different VHDX files from different VMs gets copied each time. Some time it happens during daytime wich causes a lot of problems, especially when a 200 GB file gets copied (which take a lot of time).
    What it is not:
We thought that this was connected to the backup, but the backup had finished 3 hours before the last time this happended and the backup never uses any of the files in System Volume Information so it is not the backup.
    An observation:
When this happend today I switched on ShadowCopy (previous files) and set it to only to use 320 MB of storage and then the Copy Process stopped and the virtual Machines started responding again. This could be unrelated since there is no way to see
how much of the VHDX that is left to be copied, so it might have been finished at the same time as I enabled  ShadowCopy (previos files).
    Our question:
Why is a VHDX copied to System Volume Information when scheduled ShadowCopy (previous version of files) is switched off? As far as I know, nothing should be copied to this folder when this functionis switched off?

    Please note:
Please only answer our question and do not offer any general optimization tips that do not directly adress the issue! We want the problem to go away, not to finish a bit faster!

    Hallo Lawrence!
Thankyou for youre reply, some comments to help you and others who read this thread:
First of all, we use Windows Server 2012 and the VHDX as I wrote in the headline and in the text in my post. We have not had this problem in similar setups with Windows Server 2008 R2, so the problem seem to be introduced in Windows Server 2012.
These posts that you refer to seem to be outdated and/or do not apply to our configuration:
    The post about Dynamic Disks:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee941151(v=WS.10).aspx is only a recommendation for Windows Server 2008 R2 and the VHD format. Dynamic VHDX is indeed recommended by Microsoft when using Windows Server 2012 (please look in the optimization guide
    for Windows Server 2012).
Infact, if we use fixed VHDX then we would have a bigger problem since fixed VHDX are generaly larger then Dynamic Disks, i.e. more data would be copied and that would take longer time = the VMs would be unresponsive for a longer time.
The post "What's the deal with the System Volume Information folder"
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2003/11/20/55764.aspx is for Windows XP / Windows Server 2003 and some things has changed since then. for instance In Windows Server 2012, Shadow Copies cannot be controlled by going to Control panel -> System.
Instead you right-click on a Drive (i.e. a Volume, for instance the C drive/Volume) in Computer and then click "Configure Shadow Copies".
Windows Server 2008 R2 Backup problem
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/windowsbackup/thread/0fc53adb-477d-425b-8c99-ad006e132336 - This post is about the Antivirus software trying to scan files used during backup that exists in the System Volume Information folder and we do not
have any antivirus software installed on our hosts as I stated in my post.
    Comment that might help us:
So according to “System Volume Information” definition, the operation you mentioned is Volume Shadow Copy. Check event viewer to find Volume Shadow Copy related event logs and post them.
    Why?
Furhter investigation suggests that a volume shadow copy is somehow created even though the Schedule for Shadows Copies is turned off for all drives. This happens at random and we have not found any pattern. Yesterday this operation took almost all available
disk space (over 200 GB), but all the disk space was released when I turned on scheduled Shadow Copies for the CSV.
    I therefore draw these conclusions:
The CSV Volume has about 600 GB of disk space and since Volume Shadows Copy used 200 GB, or about 33% of the disk space, and the default limit is 10% then I conclude that for some reason the unscheduled Volume Shadow Copy did not have any limit (or ignored
    the limit).
When I turned on the Schedule I also change the limit to the minimum amount which is 320 MB and this is probably what released the disk space. That is, the unscheduled Volume Shadow Copy operation was aborted and it adhered to the limit and deleted the
Volume Shadow Copy it had taken.
I have also set the limit for Volume Shadow Copies for all other volumes to 320 MB by using the "Configure Shadow Copies" Window that you open by right clicking on a drive (volume) in Computer and then selecting "Configure Shadow Copies...".
It is important to note that setting a limit for Shadow Copy Storage, and disabaling the Schedule are two different things! It is possible to have unlimited storage for Shadow Copies when the Schedule is disabled, however I do not know if this was the case
Before I enabled Shadow Copies on the CSV since I did not look for this.
I now have defined a limit for Shadow Copy Storage to 320 MB on all drives and then no VHDX should be copied to System Volume Information since they are all larger than 320 MB.
Does this sound about right or am I drawing the wrong conclusions?

There is something strange about the limits on the Secondary host!
I have not in any way changed the settings on the Secondary host and as you can see, the Secondary host has a maximum limit of only 35 MB storage on the CSV, but it also shows that this is 10% of the Volume. This is clearly not the case since 10% if 600
    GB = 60 GB!
The question is, why does it by default set a too small limit (i.e. < 320 MB) on the CSV and is this the cause of the problem? I.e. is the limit ignored since it is smaller than the smallest amount you can provide using the GUI?
Is the default 35 MB maximum Shadow Copy limit a bug, or is there any logical reason for setting a limit that according to the GUI is too small?

  • Installing Wii gaming system and DVD player

How do I install my Wii gaming system and DVD player?  I have an old floor model tv. Prior to Fios, I used a RF audio/video modulator. I still have old movies that my kids want to watch.  Thanks!  I'm not purchasing a new tv when the old one still works.
    Solved!

Fios should not change anything when it comes to your DVD player or Wii. If you don't have the connectors for everything I would suggest something like a RCA splitter. I take it you dont have a HDTV.

  • Event ID - 13568 The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR.

We had a major storm over the weekend which caused an unexpected shutdown.
I am having an issue with one of my domain controller with Event ID 13568
The domain controller which is running Windows Server 2012 was added successfully just a couple of days ago.
I do not have a full backup of the server yet.
It only has a GC role on it.
What are the things I should look out for before I attempt to Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore and set it to 1?
Would it be safer to just demote the server and start from scratch?
    Thank you all for reading!
    Mladen
Setting the "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore" registry parameter to 1 will cause the following recovery steps to be taken to automatically recover from this
    error state.
[1] At the first poll, which will occur in 5 minutes, this computer will be deleted from the replica set. If you do not want to wait 5 minutes, then run "net stop ntfrs"
followed by "net start ntfrs" to restart the File Replication Service.
[2] At the poll following the deletion this computer will be re-added to the replica set. The re-addition will trigger a full tree sync for the replica set.
WARNING: During the recovery process data in the replica tree may be unavailable. You should reset the registry parameter described above to 0 to prevent automatic recovery from
making the data unexpectedly unavailable if this error condition occurs again.
To change this registry parameter, run regedit.
Click on Start, Run and type regedit.
    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
    Click down the key path:
       "System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters"
Double click on the value name
       "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore"
    and update the value.
If the value name is not present you may add it with the New->DWORD Value function under the Edit Menu item. Type the value name exactly as shown above.

I set Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore to 1 and it was
    successful.
I will monitor it to make sure it does not occur again.
    Thanks everyone on your replies

    Hey villan303,
You can, indeed, pre-order the Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundle at your local store! A deposit will be required to reserve your console, but for full details I'd encourage you to speak with an on-site gaming specialist or rep at the store's customer service desk.

  • Open NAT problems with Xbox One .

When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?

Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

  • WRT610Nv2 nat moderate on xbox one... HELP

Cant find any help on setting up my xbox one with my WRT610Nv2 xbox one.
most posts ive found are dealing with the xbox 360.
the nat is set to moderate whilst the i need an open nat to communicate with my cohorts.

Getting ready to take the thing skeet shooting.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction and save my poor router from a firey death of target loads and bourbon?

  • HH5 and Xbox One - randomly open and moderate NAT

Having this annoying problem where the NAT keeps showing as randomly open and moderate. I have set a static I.p for it with no luck so far. I can switch it on and off a dozen times and it can show open, then be turned on the next dozen times and be moderate.
The odd thing is that I have a PS4 and Xbox 360 attached and they both show as always having an open NAT. All devices are connected wired. Tearing my hair out over this.  I can't recall the last time I had to mess around with static I.p's a d whatnot. Everything just worked with my old Virginia set up. I do a fair bit of online gaming and so having an open Nat is important to me as even moderate with xbox live can be a real nuisance.  Thanks for any help.

Well after googling non stop since around 4am this morning I have found what I think the problem is - and that makes the most sense.
I can't port forward because the HH5 has assigned some of the ports to my Xbox 360 (this was with me only using upnp and NOT having tried any port forwarding) and so now it won't let me manually assign those ports to my Xbox one - hence the error message that I'm getting.
The worst part is, that upnp SHOULD open those ports as needed when I switch my Xbox One on (I live alone and so both machines are never conencted at the same time) but it isn't, because for some reason it is keeping the shared ports solely for the Xbox 360.
So I was trying to manually assign those ports with port forwading to force it to open those same ports on my Xbox One...but so far I haven't got as far as doing any port forwading whatsoever.
I had a router with DD-WRT firmware on my old Virgin connection, and that allowed me to open whatever ports I wanted to whatever device I wanted, but it didn't matter because upnp worked properly on it. Unlike the HH5 which after all my reading has the same problems going back as far as the HH2. The internet is awash with people who couldn't get upnp or port forwading to work how it should.
So far the only people gettng a stable open NAT seem to be those with one Xbox or the other, but NOT both. Which is ridiculous and only seems to affect home hub users.
