XBR-55X850C - Latest Software problem or coincedence - USB device recognition and touchpad pairing

Recently purchase XBR-55X850C,After basic setup Touchpad and being able to recognize an external USB stick and drive seemed to work. Then did the recomended update software recently (think new version in last 2 weeks). Now I can not Pair my touchpad remote (tried many times) and the TV does not recognize when I have a USB stick or drive connected to it. I do not know if this is conicendence or is there a bug with the latest update. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated especially since there does not seem to be a true manual for this version of TV yet.

Hi NunYah,
Welcome to the Sony Community!
When the Touchpad Remote Control stopped working after updating the TV firmware, try any of the following.
Turn off and on the Bluetooth setting.
On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
Select Settings.
Under the NETWORK & ACCESSORIES category, select Bluetooth settings.
Select Bluetooth.
Select Off.
Select On.
Unplug the power cord, then plug it back in.

  • Software needed for the USB device, "USB Interface Controller TEST2.0"

My mother recently acquired a digital camera. She acquired it from a second-hand store, which did not include an interface cable or software. The manual (and the USB port on the camera) indicates that a male-male USB cable is necessary for photos to be copied to the hard drive.
I was not successful in locating such a cable at any local electronics store (I assume such a cable is now out-of-date). I purchased one from a seller on eBay. The brand is "e circuit electronics".
Upon powering up the camera with the cable connected to it and the computer, the following message appeared:
"Software needed for the USB device "USB Interface Controller TEST2.0" is not available. Would you like to look for the software on the Internet?"
I clicked "Yes". After an approximate two-minute wait, another message appeared stating:
"Software Update is not able to connect to the Internet. Please check your configuration and try again."
I deleted, "Software Update Preferences" in the Preferences folder inside the System Folder, without solving the problem. How do I solve the issue of allowing Software Update to connect to the Internet?

Thank you for your continued assistance, BDAqua. Unfortunately, the driver you linked to does not seem to be compatible with the camera. It is a driver for the V20 model, whereas my model would correspond to be a V2755, as referenced from a list of other Vivicam models when during a search at the Open Drivers web site.
From the system requirement about the card reader you gave me, it will not work, as this system is running 9.1. I am hesistant to upgrade this computer to 9.2, as I have experienced system unstability with that version, with even the 9.2.2 update applied.
In the mean time, I have e-mailed Vivitar regarding this issue, but have as of yet received a reply.
I am not certain as to other specifics to give you, in order to solve the Software Update problem. Please elaborate.
Yes eww, the computer in question is able to fully connect to the Internet for all that I need. I am fully aware of the difference between a computer connecting to the Internet, and a computer connecting to a digital camera. I have 15 years of Macintosh experience.

  • Problem with detecting USB devices.. something abt ehci-hcd??

    Hi All,
I have a DELL E6410 laptop. I have a problem with connecting USB devices.
Whenever a power event (such as connecting/disconnecting of AC adaptor) happens, my laptop stops detecting any USB devices and any changes that happen on the USB ports. That is, say an external mouse is connected to the laptop, the mouse stops functioning, and if I connect a mouse/USB_stick or any such thing to the computer, the device is not detected.
dmesg output show that any connecting/disconnecting events are not detected by the computer. lsusb output too shows the same thing.
To solve the problem, I need to rmmod the module ehci-hcd and modprobe it back. That is, I have to run the commands rmmod ehci-hcd followed by modprobe ehci-hcd. Then, this problem goes away until the next power event happens.
This event does not happen all the time, but it happens very regularly.
Here are the kernel and laptop specs..
    uname -a
    Linux myhost 3.0-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Aug 30 08:53:25 CEST 2011 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
Kindly help me on this issue.
    Thanks

This is the output of kernel.log when I unplug my AC adaptor with the external USB mouse connected.

  • SOLVED (?): my problem with HotSync (USB, Zire 72 and Win XP)

As noted in many other messages, it is not uncommon for the HotSync to fail with USB connection when the "Local USB" option disappears from the manager menu.
I noticed this earlier today and like many others had information that I needed to transfer via USB to my computer.
After a number of false tries, I saw a message about using Device Manager to check the status of the handheld.  In my case, the device had a yellow blob with a "?" on it and when I right-clicked, it said the driver was not available.
Following another post, I located the drivers and used the Hardware Wizard to update the driver.
This was not straightforward to me and I am posting to mention what worked for me.
The problem is telling the Wizard what file to use or ALTERNATIVELY where to find it OR what type of driver file to look for.
In my case, I told it to look in the palm directory (this is wrong, it is in the USB_Drivers subdirectory and I didn't realize it, or the Wizard didn't let me go to the subdirectory level).  The Wizard did not allow me to click OK (greyed out) and so I tried the alternative of looking by TYPE.  Here it displayed palm handheld as one type and I selected this, but again the OK was greyed out.
I took another look at the choices and selected ports and com (probably kind of an obvious choice for a USB connection <g>) and this one came up with a specific .sys file and I was now able to click OK.
The Wizard went through an install and afterward, I tried hotsyncing and it worked without a problem.
I believe the problem is caused at least in part because the Palm Install program doesn't install the driver in the subdirectory (in Win32?) where Win XP expects it.
Since the file is now in the right place, hopefully it is a real (permanent) solution.
Thanks for the messages others posted that helped me (hopefully) fix this.

    Post relates to: Zire 72

Do you have the latest system driver updates.Think the latest update (version 2.78,updated through Live Update or the verion at nVidia website) does address that issue. I updated, however, I do not have any 2.0 devices so I am not sure that my 2.0 is working. They work fine for me at 1.1.
There is also a USB 2.0 patch version 5.1.2600.1106 available on Live Update as well. I have already updated that as well

  • IPhone causes problems on other USB devices?

Is anyone having problems with external USB hard drives or any other USB peripheral when his iPhone is connected to a Windows PC or sometime after that?
I'm having some problems with external USB hard drives when the Windows system is continuously hammering them for more than a half-hour. The problem is not easily reproducable, and I don't know the cause.
It probably has nothing to do with the iPhone. But one possibility I have to consider is that the iPhone draws enough current (or something else I haven't thought of) that interefers with the USB communications.

What I meant in my previous post was that the USB wouldn't allow the iPhone to draw more current than the USB can safely provide, unless it was defective. I have an external hardrive, a wireless mouse, my printer and my iPhone connected directly to my laptop's USB ports and have not seen any problems with any of them. In several years of using USB devices, I've not seen any problems that I could assign to the USB ports/controllers... they just seem to work all the time. Will be interested as to your findings.

  • Problems with multiple USB devices. (Possible Low Power on USB Bus)

I believe I'm having an issue with the USB bus or one of my devices that I have installed on my iMac.
I purchased this iMac along with a printer (HP C4280 All-in-One) as part of a promotion deal. I also have wireless logitech USB mouse, and iPhone and an 80gb 5th Gen iPod.
My problem has to do with syncing the iPod and iPhone. Normally I have the printer attached to the iMac along with the USB mouse. Both devices function as expected. However I have problems when I connect the iPhone or iPod.
iPod Symptoms: When I connect the iPod the iPod screen shows the flashing red circle with a line but iTunes never launches and the iPod never syncs.
iPhone Symptoms: When I connect the iPhone the iPhone screen says Sync in Progress and iTunes does show the iPhone in the list of devices but a dialog appears giving me one of two messages (that I've seen so far) - [msg 1] Your iPhone is corrupt please disconnect then reconnect to restore. [msg 2] iPhone device timed out.
I've been dealing with this problem for a couple months and found that if I disconnect the printer (HP C4280) then connected either other device then everything works just fine.
I downloaded XCode 2.5 and launched the USB Prober utility. Then plugged in each device in turn and found some interesting findings.
When connecting the iPhone (1st attempt) the USB Logger reported; (iTunes displayed msg 1 from above)

I'm suspicious of the USB Low Power Notice. If this is true then I suspect the my iMac might need some type of repair. However I am also suspicious of USB Device violating the USB Spec Error. Although this is the message that appears when I plug in the iPhone or iPod I don't think I can assume that error relates to the iPod or iPhone. The error doesn't specify which USB Device is in violation.
My current workaround is to unplug the printer every time I sync the iPhone or iPod which is cumbersome. I'm also worried that repeated connecting/disconnecting of USB plug for the printer will over time damage the USB port.
I'm not sure what options I have here. Can anyone provide some suggestions or information that might provide some insight.
    Best Regards,
    xgnomex

A-Ha! Now I'm feeling like my 1.5 hours of reading this forum are not wasted, since I've found others with similar symptoms.
I've only had my iMac for two weeks today. I've got some new accessories & have experimented with the ones I've had awhile (various USB external drives). My model has 3 USB ports, one of which is taken by the keyboard, of course.
Over the weekend, I picked up an MS Office 2008 Upgrade and also an HP Officejet Pro L7680 all-in-one. I only mention the Office upgrade because I installed it on the same day as the printer, but it's possibly unrelated.
I actually have a Belkin 4-port hub--not the same one suggested in this thread, but externally powered with it's own A/C adapter. (It's a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 r-Port Hub, model F5U234 Rev.3, and I used it with a previous iMac G3 CRT with no problem.)
So with a LaCie 100 GB USB Mobile Drive in one of the iMac's ports, and the HP L7680 in the iMac's third port, or the HP via the Belkin hub in iMacs the third hub, here are some of the symptoms I've seen:
    1) while browsing in Firefox, suddenly the mouse-cursor will "freeze" (get stuck) in a pull-down selector...sometimes it unfreezes, but eventually (like on the next pull-down menu) the keyboard & mouse will shut off (and if you wait & the iMac goes to sleep, the keyboard won't let me enter my unlock password when I wake the iMac with the Apple Remote)
    2) when trying to open a document from the LaCie in MS Word, Word freezes and the keyboard & mouse go dead--terminal beachball--to restart the computer, I have to hold in the power button
    3) when trying to print a message in Mail, Finder freezes (though the print job does finish)
These symptoms seem strange! Hey, it's just supposed to work, right? But everything has limits, so my question becomes, "how much stuff can I hook up at once?"
I wonder if this Apple article is addressing this issue:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25243
especially when it says "Two high-bandwidth devices or two isochronous devices cannot be connected to a single Universal Serial Bus (USB)."
So only two hi-speed USB devices can be connected "to the same bus" simultaneously? I'm not entirely sure I understand what "isochronous" means, but I'm thinking I need to peel my printer off the USB somehow, maybe via Airport Express--?
Does anyone know for sure about USB limitations? Thanks.
Also, xgnomex, how/where did you find that "USB Logger"? Is that something iPhone-specific, or is it an OS X log in a Library somewhere?

  • Wierd problems, says the USB device not recognized

I have a 5 generation iPod, bought it Christmas, worked fine until two weeks ago, then whenever I connect it to my computer it sort of "works" for 5 seconds, then windows says "USB device malfunctioned, object not recognized" then the iPod freezes...
    Can anyone help me?

I am having a similar problem. I have a new iPod 30GB video and the computer won't recognise it at all. I have restored, reset, downloaded Updater 2006-01-10. Very angry first timer.

    Hey Mark
You didn't happen to change the IOMMU setting in the UEFI did you?  I have just got a M5A97 EVO and been having problems.
This UEFI interface finds the usb devices fine but the kernel will not.  I found that if I flash the bios it reset things and appears to
just compare the flash if it is the same.  Afterwards the usb works. However I still trying to narrow it down myself.  I've tested with
0402 0810 & 0813 just released. All do the same thing with regards to usb 2.0.
    Jonathan
    EDIT:
After testing it appears to be connected to the linux nvidia blob & IOMMU settings conflicting.

  • Envy Touchsmart 15-j105sa Continuous USB Device Dropout and Reconnect

New Envy Touchsmart 15-j105sa running an up to date version of Windows 8.1.  All HP driver and Windows updates completed prior to installing software and other USB devices except for USB WiFi adaptor and software.
USB 2.0 HDD keeps disconnecting from the port and then re-connecting.  This happens continuously about once every 30sec.  It re-connects after about 10sec and then disconnects again after about 30sec.  When connected everything seems to be working fine.  Access to the HDD is OK, it shows normally in Device Manager and Safe Disconnect.
I have uninstalled the USB drivers and restarted.  The problem persists.  I have powered the USB HDD externally.  The problem persists.  I have tried connecting to 3 of the 4 USB ports.  The problem persists.  The USB 2.0 HDD works normally on other Laptops.  When data is being transferred the dropout does not occur.  It appears to be associated with idle time on the USB HDD.
I don't get the problem when I attach a USB 3.0 HDD.  It stays connected with no dropout.  Flash drives don't have the problem.
I also have a similar issue connecting a USB Alfa WiFi Adaptor.
UPDATE:  The problem is related to an External Combo Drive.  2.5" Sata to USB /eSata HDD External Enclosure.  As long as the HDD is being accessed then there is no dropout.  As soon as the disc becomes idle I get a cycle of disconnects and reconnects as described above.  I would like to understand the cause of this issue because it will help solve the massive connect/disconnect hunting that I get with my external USB wifi adaptor.  Once the Alfa Wifi adaptor gets happy with its connection the hunting stops and it behaves normally.

Are you using the charging USB 3.0 ports or the standard USB 3.0 port to connect the device?
Charging ports have a + next to them. It really should not make a difference, but it might with your keyboard since it does require more power then, perhaps a mouse.

  • How to increase the Speed of USB Devices (6501 and 6009)?

    Hy guys!
    My question is:
In datasheets of the USB devices, the only reference about the speed of
these boards is the Bus Interface speed (12Mbit/s). But in my
application (i'm trying to use delphi to control the device), each
instruction, doesn't matter if is a write or a read function, is taking
1ms to execute. Could i increase this speed?? What could be wrong?
OBS: I updated the Ni-DaqmxBase 1.4 to the new NI-DaqMx 7.5, and notting has changed.
    Functions used:
    istatus := DAQmxWriteDigitalU32(TaskEscrever, 1, 0, -1, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, @writedata,nil, nil);
    istatus := DAQmxReadDigitalU32(taskLer, -1, 10, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, @readdata[j], 1,nil, nil);

    Hello,
The two usb DAQ from NI are full speed interface (as you said 12M/s bus speed). The full speed interface has a frame size of 1ms, the root hub transmits a packet every 1.0 ms and this is the minimum time that you can read/write from/to usb device, normally because of the windows scheduling, 1ms is very tight, windows may miss it in some occasions, some usb device designers would prefer to use something between 2ms - 10ms polling period, which means some devices may even react to commands within 2ms - 10ms. But it looks like the two NI usb DAQ use the 1ms polling period and that is the shortest time you can get in software paced mode. If you need very fast digital update rate, you may need to look at PWM output, it generates digital pulses at very fast rate as the link given below, the iUSBDAQ - U120816 can generate PWM pulse from 3kHZ - 333kHZ.
NI USB DAQ maybe good, but it wouldn't hurt to look at some other company's product too. the below link of usb daq gives the best price/performance ratio, LabVIEW vis are very easy to use and you avoid the pre-configuration in a separate application for DAQs which sometimes may be big deal if your customers are not engineer or scientist, but regular computer users. You are welcome to compare.

  • Mountain lion USB devices issues and Cam

    Hey Guys,
Since updated to ML, started having an issues with many USB devices, (Apple wire Keyboard, Razer Deathadder mouse, iPhone, NI Maschine, Guitar Rig Mobile), basically everything that is connected over USB bus. As well as Web cam, not sure how its connected internally but looks like over USB as well. Mentioned above devices sporadically getting hanged and becoming not available and I have to reboot the whole iMac (this is insane!!!). My is iMac 27-inch, Mid 2010 (3.2 x2 cores, 8GB of RAM). In general, system super slow, Terminal is lagging when openning (its simple Bash, changed to zsh by default, much better), didn't had such issues on Lion nor on Snow Leo.
Please help! what can be done to fix this? Should I roll back to Lion? When will be an update for those type of lags? this is epic fail.
    Best regards,

Another iTunes 11 crash.  Something as simple as downloading one new app to the iPod Touch 5.
Memory seems to really climb when searching iTunes store.

  • USB devices disapear and only reappear after a full power down

    Hi All
Has anyone seen this before, The USB devices (Mouse/Kboard/ilok) started to be flaky and then disappeared. After a soft restart the Mouse and keyboard came back but not the Ilok. After a hard reset eg pulling power for 30sec everything has come back. Is this a sign of things to come, power supply issues etc?
    Thank you
    Mal

In some cases, the keyboard plus mouse is right at the edge of acceptable power draw, and adding anything to the second keyboard outlet causes it to malfunction or over-power and drop out.
The Mac Pro has separate power budgets for the front ports in total and the back ports in total, so one approach might be to plug in the other stuff on the other side.

  • Software problem with 30 gig video ipod and itunes 7?

ok ever since ive had my ipod it works nice
now. since ive moved over to itunes 7 its messed up
the first time, it didnt even update the software all the way and i had to restore it manually cuz i had 2 softwares on my iod.
also when i ejected and pluged back in my itunes didnt see my ipod but windows did. thats also why i had to do the reformat/restore manually
now here is the problem. is any one haveing this problem also
anyt ime ive tried to update the content (music, videos, photos, podcasts, and what not) i got a problem saying
"attempting to copy to the disk "bernard lor" failed. the disk could not be read from or written to"
that happened the first 3 times. i un installed the software and reformatted my ipod.
tried to update it with the previous up dater and when it was intilizing it said "Ipod service error"
so then i just went and reinstalled itunes 7
now . the first time i tried to update the contents, it didnt update, tried it agian and about 10 of 674 songs went on it and it was done :S
confused i did it agian and another 180 went on. then it said "attempting to copy to the disk "bernard lor" failed. the disk could not be read from or written to"
so far every time ive dont it it just adds more songs to the ipod but in chunks. and never updates the whole thing in one shot like it used to
its been about 5 times since re installing itunes that it has said "attempting to copy to the disk "bernard lor" failed. the disk could not be read from or written to"
and im still not done updating all the songs.
is this a soft ware problem or what.
do i have to now shell out more money for another ipod and this one isnt even a year old its commin up to a year in november. i got this ipod the 3rd week it came out last year.
im stuck as to what to do.
is anyone else havein gthis problem?
i guess the real thing i have a probme with is
    1 is my ipod broken
2 is ther a problem where all the songs cant be loaded up at the same time?
3 why does my screen dim down when pluged in and not go off compleatly like it used to. i never ever saw the screen go from on and light up to dimed down but still on:S it usually goes straight to no light on.
any one have thoughts or experience any of this?

Last week there was a customer service phone number and I was able to talk to a very nice woman, Michelle, who tried several steps with me to repair. When we got off the line, I was given a case number to use to call back if the patch she emailed to me did not work. She did say that this is an issue with 7 and PCs that has not been resolved.
Stupid me did not write the phone number down and it has been removed from their web site. I guess the amount of calls was too much.
Like others, I have never even used my 30GB Ipod because of version 7. When Itunes does recognize it, it won't sync without trying to restore and then all of it crashes. I put it back in the box and keep checking the website for new software.
