XCBL usage in SAP XI

Hello SDN,
I am trying to use an orders xsd compliant to xCBL Structures, (http://www.xcbl.org) in xi.
But its a Huge structure and has many other/Multiple Global elements like accountdetail, agency, contact etc.
How do i use it in a single instance, if i import it directly, i need to make many datatypes for a single interface,
Any workaround or have anyone used xCBL in XI.
I have seen a thread on it where they asked to remove the wsdl tags but i could not get it correctly,
Any help??
The thread that had a similar issue was use of XCBL in XI
I have the same problem.
Anirban.

Hi Anirban -
It definitely appears that you can leverage this xsd as a valid external definition for your mapping.  I haven't actually used this in a real scenario (I used xCBL 3.5 way back in SRM 2.0/3.0 when SAP delivered the XSLT mappings it), I was just testing the feasibility of it based on the question and information in this thread.
In the popup, the elements appear sorted, which is good when so many elements exist - makes it easier to find the parent or root element which you can generally figure out by looking at the xsd.
I think you're fortunate that xCBL provides a single xsd that includes all the elements instead of many separate xsds that you would have to link using external references.
Best regards,
Jin

  • How to analyse the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems?

    Dear expert,
I'm doing a research work about analysing the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems.
I would like to find out what is load in buffers and when. That means, which process have the control of these memories and which are always performing something, tables loaded, and so on. Becuase I tried to isolate the space needed by a simple webservice call (create one material) in my test system, but even after a $SYN there are something stored in the buffers. I use a BAPI to avoid the execution of the SAPGUI and its repercussion in the system (I know the BAPI called uses resources too, but when I run this BAPI to get the statistics, it's like ST02, I get different values). Could someone help me or recommend something specific to read? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Dear expert,
Thanks a lot for your answer. The point is now that I want to isolate the memory used by a webservice that I call, I mean, I would like to know how many memory is this webservice using in each buffer. And could you tell me where could I read something about the order that things happen in SAP System when a webservice is called (always memory related), that's which steps are done to store data in buffers and so on. Thanks in advance.

  • ISO code 3 character - usage in SAP

    Hello experts,
There is field "ISO code 3 character" which can be customised under t-code : OY01 [alternatively - SAP NetWeaver >> General Settings >> Set Countries >> Define Countries in mySAP Systems ('New Entries')]
It possibly can be entered in transaction OY07 also.
Can anyone tell about its usage in SAP? Once this is entered in customisation, where is this field available for entry/or where does this field show up? (e.g. once document type is configured, it is available for entry in FB01 header data/once trading partner is configured, it is available for entry in vendor master data)
    Thanks and regards,

  • BC SETS creation and usage for sap mm  point of view

    Hi All,
Need Information About  BC SETS  creation and usage from sap mm point of view.
Thanks in advance for sap mm forum guys.
    Regards.
    Parameshwar.

    Hi,
Customizing settings can be collected by processes into Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets). BC Sets make Customizing more transparent by documenting and analyzing the Customizing settings. They can also be used for a group rollout, where the customizing settings are bundled by the group headquarters and passed on in a structured way to its subsidiaries.
BC Sets are provided by SAP for selected industry sectors, and customers can also create their own.
When a BC Set is created, values and combinations of values are copied from the original Customizing tables into the BC Set and can be copied into in the tables, views and view clusters in the customer system. The BC Sets are always transported into the customer system in which Customizing is performed.
    Advantages of using BC Sets:
    1.     Efficient group rollout.
    2.     Industry sector systems are easier to create and maintain.
    3.     Customizing can be performed at a business level.
    4.     Change Management is quicker and safer.
    5.     Upgrade is simpler.
To create BC sets follow the below step:
Choose Tools ® Customizing ® Business Configuration Sets® Maintenance in the SAP
menu, or enter the transaction code SCPR3 in the command field.
    Choose Bus.Conf.Set ® Create.

    Hello gurus,
I am planning to upgrde my system EC2 which is an SAP ERP 6.0 on an Oracle10g database with OS Windows Server 2003.
But I dont know which technical usage to choose.

There seems to be no direct equivalent of these usage types in the technical usages I see on MOPZ.
    Please advise.
    Thanks, Cha Cha

    Hello,
You may check the attachments in note 1165438 for business function -> technical usage equivalence.
as for usage types, you seem to have listed product instances instead.  Perhaps you can also have a look at the product instances -> technical usages equivalences in the attachments to note  1165438
Anyway, the technical usagesI can see right away are:
    - SAP Learning Sol-Frontend CP
    - XSS Self Services
    - SAP FSCM - Biller Direct
    - Central applications
    - SAP XECO
Netweaver 7 app server ABAP, Netweaver PI, and Enterprise Portal product instances don't have any additional technical usages assigned.
I suggest also the service http://service.sap.com/bfp for a free service that will help you to select technical usages in your EHP4 install.

  • Best practices / preferred usage of SAP standard (delivered) roles

    Dear Experts,
When going about designing roles for a new system, what is the preferred usage on SAP standard/delivered roles?  I was thinking of using them as a "base", then tweaking auth objects here and there to make the roles work but the more I work with them, I find it may be better to create roles entirely from scratch.  A lot of the time, I find a lot of inactivated auth objects or objects that seem to not really be needed when looking at the t-codes offered in the menu (S_TCODE).
In that case, I figured it might be cleaner if I started creating roles and adding t-codes via the Menu and maintaining only the auth objects that are proposed in PFCG (and adding a few if necessary).
Do people typically build their roles around these the standard SAP role set or is it preferred to create your own and only use the SAP standard roles as reference (i.e. the t-codes offered in the menu, etc.)?
    Thanks for any insights!

    > When going about designing roles for a new system, what is the preferred usage on SAP standard/delivered roles?
Those are provided by SAP as a reference so that you can consult with the Authorization Structure of a Standard Position / Task for which you are going to create your own role. For e.g. what are the TCodes, values of Objects should be given to users for their tasks.
I was thinking of using them as a "base", then tweaking auth objects here and there to make the roles work but the more I work with them, I find it may be better to create roles entirely from scratch.
Absolutely! Please do not use SAP delivered roles for you use and also don't try to alter any values.

  • Usage of SAP Event Management as backend for custom mobile applications

    Hi,
I'm am looking for an appropriate implementation approach for custom mobile applications as complement for warehouse processes with SAP Extended Warehouse Management.
    Possible scenarios:
    i) Goods issue - loading process
There are requirements like capturing of various data about the vehicle and load per RF handheld computer. The goal is to trace and archive them for analysis and reporting purposes.
    ii) Goods receipt -production process
The production supply and goods receipt from production are realized in SAP EWM. The request is to collect data about the production process for quality reasons by use of RF devices.
You can picture oneself the additional mobile data entry activities during the various processes as predefined question catalogues with answer options.
The frontend - the additional mobile transactions can be realized with the EWM-Radio-Frequency-Framework, too. But I feel confindent that there is a better way to track, trace, store, analyse, report and archiv of the collected data to Y-TABLES.
Would you recommend to use SAP Event Management for this purpose to complement the SAP EWM processes?
The existing requirements as described above is in my understanding only a little fraction of the capabilities of SAP Event Management. The data collection and evaluation process is local within the warehouse. At first there is not requested any automatic system behaviour to particular events...
There are a lot material and information about SAP Event Management. But I havent found an easy getting started for my simple business scenario to enhance the EWM processes with the EM capabilities. How I could realize a question/anwer catalogue with the EM tools?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Laura

    Hello Laura,
principally the process would fit for EM. But EWM is not integrated up to now to EM i.e. you would have to do the connection from EWM to EM by your own.
How to generally connect an application to EM is described here:
    service.sap.com/scm
    -> Event Managament
    -> Technical Information
-> Connect SAP objects to SAP EM

  • ADS Global Catalogue Usage and SAP Transaction iViews

    Hi all,
I connected our ADS to UME. I have several subdomains in the ADS which are accessed via global catalog. To configure the ume for global catalog I changed the
j_user attribute from samaccountname to userprincipalname and the
uniquename attribute from samaccountname to userprincipalname
and I use the port 3268 for access the ads via global catalog. And I added the attribute domain_j_user="samaccountname" in the 'account' principal. It works fine.
But the problem is that I have some SAPTransaction iViews which access the underlying system with logontickets. So these iviews don't work anymore because the logonticket passes the "[email protected]" and not the "user" without the added domain in the logonticket. Our sap System knows only "user" not "[email protected]" so it doesn't accept access.
If I change the uniquename back to samaccountname it works again. But then the uniquename is not unique anymore because users in different subdomains can have the sam samaccountname. So users with the same logonname in other subdomains can access the iviews with the SAP user account which is not theirs but only the same logonname.
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
    Regards Manuel

    Hi Manuel,
User mapping might solve your problem.

You might also consider using your ABAP system as the data source and using the LDAP synch to exchange user data between the ABAP and LDAP systems. But that depends on what else you want to use your LDAP for and what services you want to make available through the portal.

  • Software Change Management - usage in SAP

    Hi,
    Please anybody can -
Are we using version control tools like ration rose, SCM – Software configuration Management in SAP?
    Thanks in advance
    Swamy

    Hi,
Version Management is there in SAP also. SAP maintains Change history for most of its transactions.
    *Version Management *
    Use
Version management in the Integration Repository permits versioning as follows:
    ·        The Integration Builder manages multiple versions of a software component in an Integration Repository. In this way, different product versions can communicate with each other. Each design object is created in the context of a software component version that represents a unit of a product that can be shipped.
    ·        Objects can also have new object versions when changes are made within a software component version. You also have the option of releasing changes to multiple objects simultaneously.
Versioning in the Integration Repository ensures that objects are shipped consistently, and as part of a product.
However, there are no software component versions in the Integration Directory, because the configuration content is not shipped. Nevertheless, you can also release changes to the configuration for the entire runtime environment here. When you release the objects, the Integration Server updates the directory runtime cache.
    Integration
You can also export objects of an Integration Repository or an Integration Directory to import them into another repository or directory (for example, during system relocation). In doing so, versioning of the corresponding software component version is taken into account.
    Features
    Change Lists
The Integration Builder supports object versioning for both the repository and for the directory using the user-specific change lists. When an object is saved for the first time, a new object version is created, which is added to the change list. When an object in the change list is activated, the object version is closed and is made visible for other users.
    Products and Software Component Versions
A product can have multiple versions. Each product version is a shipment unit visible for customers. The software component versions used in a product version can be called in the System Landscape Directory.
In the context of SAP Exchange Infrastructure, the products and software component versions that are of interest are those that are to exchange messages with each other. When development starts they must be imported from the System Landscape Directory into the Integration Builder.
    Release Transfer
In the transition from one software component version to a new software component version, you can either transfer all, or just some of the design objects from the previous version. This release transfer also enables you to transfer objects to older software component versions.
    Regards,
    Renjith Michael.

    Hello All,
I have successfully installed SAP NetWeaver SneakPreview 04s SP7.
And would to use the functionality of VC.
Any suggestion how to proceed on this.
    Regards
    Ajay

You have to call the url http://localhost:50000/VC/default.jsp
prior to this you have to install the Adobe SVG viewer which is a free download from Adobe webpage.
You have to establish a connection to a BI system, if you want to access BI functionality.
This BI system could be a system in the SLD of your local net environment. It has to be installed properly in the SLD.
Without access to any system its not very enjoing to test the VC.
    Anyway have joy

  • External Version Control usage with SAP

    Hi,
I am trying to get info on configuring an external version control tool to use with SAP. I am aware of Version Management that is provided by SAP as part of Workbench Organizer and DTR for NetWeaver Developer Studio (for Java programs). However, my requirement is, to configure an external versioning system which can maintain the different versions of the source outside SAP system(not within the SAP repository). This is necessary to recover the system even in case of SAP system crashes also.
Please let me know if we can integrate any Version Control Software like Perforce or CVS to use with SAP. I like to store ABAP programs, ABAP Data Dictionary objects etc. in it. Please point me to a useful document or resource which explains this in detail (if one is available).
    Any pointers are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Krishna.

Thanks for your feedback Nico and Carsten. The feedback on snapshots is very relevant and the sort of feedback that I was looking for.
I will continue looking at external version control, but at the same time look at snapshots. For example, when doing a checkin operation to checkin to external version control, my script may be able to automatically create a signature snapshot of the object at the same time. Please let me know if, for some reason, that won't be feasible.
    Thanks,
    Gavin
