Xcelsius and DocumentDownload syntax

Hi!
I´m trying to call a Xcelsius dashboard from another dashboard (parent, child) with SWF loader component. These dashboards are published in Inofview and I try to call the child dashboard with the following syntax:
http://server:port/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?iDocID=15488&sKind=Flash?
And it dont work, I have also tried with only: opendoc/documentDownload?iDocID=15488&sKind=Flash Neither that works.
I have checked the security settings in Falshplayer and added the url  to trusted locations.
The Child falsh just dont run, the statusbar is always  at 0 %.
Someone who have any clue what I have missed?
Greatful for help!
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
You need to include a CELogonToken like this
http://<server>:<port>/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?iDocID=<docid>&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken=<token>
You should be able to get more info in this blog about how to add a CELogonToken.

Hope this helps.

  • Xcelsius and relative cell in Excel from another document

    Hi, gurus.
I have one question about Xcelsius opportunities. Can I use relative cells in Excel document, which as links to cell in another excel document. For example I have two Excel document. At first I use relative cell like this "='\job\[test_1.xlsx]List1'!$C$6",  after them I imported file with  this link to Xcelsius and I can see value from another document, when I work with Xcelsius only. When I view my result or exported in swf - I see that this value become 0, like empty cell.
Can I use relative cells in Xcelsius or it is them  limitation?
    Thanks in advance, Ruslan.

Thank you. I think so too. But I have no confirmation...
And I think this limit like limit for work with Excel  Macros,  because If we  may use macros in another document, with work opportunity with relative cells we can get data with VBA scripts computing.

  • Problems between Xcelsius and WebDynpro for Java

How should I do to show Xcelsius in WebDynpro for Java?
How should I transport data between Xcelsius and WebDynpro?
How should I control WebDynpro with Xcelsius? For example, firing plugs in Xcelsius like in WebDynpro to change one view to another.
How should I do to execute a Java method in Xcelsius? For example, scheduling a job on clicking a button in Xcelsius.
Besides these,I also want to know the same problems between other BOE contents and WebDynpro for Java.

    Hi Pradeep:
Well that purely depends on the business application (project) your client is proposing. Following are very few factors which will drive for creating web-based applications:
VC: it's a UI modeling tool (non-programming) for creating rapid creation of web-based applications.
WD: its a powered by Java and ABAP with which you can create robust business applications.
If your client is very choosy about rapid application development, reporting, rich user interface, to reduce TCO then VC is the choice. Or if the project contains typical integration with SAP and non-SAP systems, complex business logic development, integration with WCM systems...etc then WDJ is the option.
If you’ve some sort of custom development with facilitating the Development Infrastructure (NWDI) then WDJ is the only option I could say.
We hope with NW CE 7.1.1(referred by Priyanka Singh) tighter integration between these TWO tools may over come the ambiguity of using them.
    Tnx,
    MS

  • Xcelsius and SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services

I am totally and utterly p1$$3d off and surely I cannot be the only person to be using a similar setup i.e. Xcelsius along with SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services.
I have installed and tried to get working the XRS gateway and get connectivity to Reporting Services so that SSRS reports can be utilized with Xcelsius... BUT NO...
when trying to configure and use the GetReports command from the xrs.asmx web file I get an error, namely:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <ROOT>
<Message>Client found response content type of '', but expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with an empty response.</Message>

    </ROOT>
Only to be told when I logged a support call, that "SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services is NOT SUPPORTED"
please go back to using 2005!!!
I find this totally and utterly unbelievable, it's not even as if its a new product... and surely i am not the only person using Xcelsius and wanting to utilise 2008Reporting Services Reports...
has anyone come across this error or understand what is not occuring to get this message and how to resolve?
yours eternally grateful if anyone can shed light on the matter
    dean

Indeed, got the XRS gateway working but it isn't able to connect to RS2008.
I guess the cause is that for RS2005 the web service connection point is the file ReportService.asmx. In RS 2008 this file is renamed to ReportService2005.asmx and therefor the XRS gateway cannot connect to it.
A fix pack seems to be in the making:

  • Does the XMLP full or partially support the Xpath and XSLFO syntax?

Does the XMLP full support the Xpath and FO syntax? or partially? Thanks

    Hi Robin
OK, so hopefully you are not leading me into a trap here :o)
There are two parts to this question:
    1. XPATH - we support as much of the XPATH spec as the Oracle XDK supports ie we rely on the XDK for our transformation engine so as long as they support what you are trying to do then we do. There are a few gaps and we have plugged those in the XMLP layer. So the short answer is yes.
    2. XSLFO - we allow you to use XSLFO in your template. The XMLP engine supports much of the standard but there are a few gaps. the next set of docs will layout exactly what we do support in the spec.

  • Popularity of BO Xcelsius and Crystal

    Dear BI consultants,
I have been away from BI scene for some time. I hope you could be generous and share with me by telling me, from your BI project experience,  how frequent do you see customers using Xcelsius or crystal reports and replacing or not using the traditional BEx?
I am trying to know what is the current market demand for these products . I am sure these will be very popular but not sure the current situation. For new projects , is are reports replaced by Crystal or BO Xcelsius and no more are people using BEx?
I am trying to get back to BI but not sure with all these changes, how relevant are these 2 new skillsets to secure a bi job in today's market?
    Thanks for reading.
    Hoping to hear from you.
    Sincerely

Yes both are compatiable with BOXI3.0 and higher versions. Crystal Dashboard and Presentation Desing(Xcelsius) version is 2008 sp3 and Crystal Reports  version is CR2008.

  • Xcelsius and SAP BW Connection.

    Hi,
I have one query on the xcelsius and SAP BW connectivity.I have  designed one dashboard on the BW connectivity. That is fine.
My question is  if i export the dashboard in the Power Point or PDF it is not showing the real time data.in this only showing static excel sheet data.
Is it possible to show real time data in power point based on the BW connection  or users can only access .swf file only by portal.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
This is not possible, see also: Can I  export in Power Point or PDF Xcelsious Dashboard if BICS is used?

  • SSM calling Xcelsius and BO Reports combine datas and Universes into SSM

I would like to connect within SAP SSM reports and Xcelsius passing parameters to dashaboards of Xcelsius (with BO universes or not) and merge information from PAS Cube and data from other universes BO.
    Could someone help me
    Best Regards
    Carlos Mardinotto

    Carlos,
There are two different processes you use to get information into Xcelsius and into Universes. For Xcelsius you are using web services, since you are bringing in not only the data but the objective names, etc. to create the dashboards.
For getting PAS data into Universes you create an ODBO connection to Voyager and from Voyager you create a Universe.
In the Configuration Help guide for Strategy Management available from Service Marketplace (Installation & Upgrade Guides), Section 9.6 gives information on providing Strategy Management data for Xcelsius and Section 9.7 has instructions on providing Strategy Management Data for Voyager.

  • Break and Row syntax in Percentage function

    Hi All,
I want to know how Break and Row syntax work in Percentage function.  As shown in the attached image, I'm able to get results ONLY using Percentage function, and hence NO NEED to add the syntax Break or Row to the formula.  Can someone please explain how Break and Row syntax work in Percentage function?
Basically, in the attached image =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]) can be used instead of =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]);Break) function.  Likewise, =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]) can be used instead of =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]);Row) in the cross table.  So why there's a syntax for Break and Row in the Percentage function?
    Thanks,
    Suranjith Fernando

    Hi Suranjith ,
Each operator posses different behavior when we work with  Cross tabs / sections / Breaks .
    For ex:
In a cross tab : Find result
    % =Percentage([G4];Col)  ,Number format Percentage .
    % =Percentage([G4])

  • Installing Xcelsius and BO XI Release 2 SP4

    Hi all,
Is it possible to install Xcelsius and BO XI Release 2 SP4 within de the same server?
Actually, I'm trying to install Xcelsius on the server where BO XI Release 2 SP4 is.
Once BO is installed with all services up and running I launch Xcelsius installation. At the end of the process, I can stop all report servers using CCM but I can't start them all again.
Does anyone have an idea about deploying those two applications on the same server?
    Thank you all in advance.
    Florian

I haven't heard of this issue, but possibly some environment variables or registry paths were changed by the install. Was xcelsius installed in the same businessobjects directory? Sometimes if the versions differ an incorrect path variable that both enterprise and the client (in this case xcelsius) share is set.It may not be as easy as uninstalling to fix. You may want to try opeing a message with our deployment team

  • List View in Xcelsius and truncated lines

    Hi @ all,
I use a List View in Xcelsius 2008 and sometimes, when the text is longer
than the column width, unfortunately the text is truncated then.
Is it possible to have then automatically two lines if the text is longer than the column width?
That was the reason why I wanted to use the “Input Text Area”. But I cannot use
the Input Text Area if I have more than 1 destination cell.
    Can you help me here?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards,
    Maggy

    Hi,
You try to change or adjust the field lengths as shown below.
In properities of the list view you can see the Push button " Configure Columns" Then change the length of the fields as you like.

  • Xcelsius and Crystal Report for SAP BW

we're going to use Crystal Report 2008 and Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 to integrate with SAP BW 7 (with SAP EHP1 + SP5 applied).
I understand that Crystal Report 2008 and Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 is "Client" application, which will be installed on each local machine (Developer machine, not end-user machine). I also understand latest xcelsius Enterprise 2008 + SP2, xcelsius can connect directly to BW.
Question is do I still need to install SAP Integration Kit on these local machine (Developer machine) so that we can access SAP BW data from Crystal Report as well as xcelsius Enterprise 2008?
    Please advise, thanks.

    Hi Ingo,
Yes, I understand what you 're saying:
"for distributing report objects with a larger audience you need a BusinessObjects server environment - either BusinessObjects Edge or BusinessObjects Enterprise."
What I dont understand is WHY we need to have BusinessObject Enterprise to distribute the crystal report so that my user can access the crystal report?
The reason why I am confused because earlier on, you mentioned we (BW users) can call the URL and access crystal report is saved in the BW Role.
Since my BW users can access crystal report directly from BW, WHY do we still need BusinessObject Enterprise?
    Please advise, thank you.

  • SQL Developer 1.1.0.21: Issues with Data Grid and SQL syntax checking

In this new release of SQL Dev, when I execute a SQL in the SQL Worksheet and click in the Data Grid in the Results tab and try to navigate within a record using arrow keys, the grid cell enters into edit mode by default and so I cannot use the Left or Right arrow keys to navigate the grid. I am forced to use tab key to navigate. This is counter intuitive in my opinion.
Is there any option to change this behavior?
Another issue that I have come across is with SQL syntax checking. In some cases, when I press F9 to execute a SQL, it shows the SQL as executed i.e. shows something like 0.0134 seconds in the toolbar and no results displayed. In reality, the SQL had some syntax error which were NOT reported. This can be frustrating since now I have to fall back to SQL*Plus or TOAD just for syntax check.
I like the fact that SQLDev highlights the current SQL but it would be more useful if it just indicated the first line of the current sql instead of highlighting the whole sql.

In the "Results" tab, Click Ctrl & Tab keys (at the same time) or with mouse click on any cell other than the first column (a sequence or rownum), you will be able to navigate using the arrow keys.

The 0.0134 seconds could be the result of the most recently executed successful statement. Check the Script Output tab for errors. Use F5 (Run Script option) instead of F9.

On the SQL statement (or code), Right Click -> Format SQL (or press Ctrl & B), proper formatting would help.
I use version 1.0.0.15.57 and seems to be working allright.
