Xcelsius and relative cell in Excel from another document

Hi, gurus.
I have one question about Xcelsius opportunities. Can I use relative cells in Excel document, which as links to cell in another excel document. For example I have two Excel document. At first I use relative cell like this "='\job\[test_1.xlsx]List1'!$C$6", after them I imported file with this link to Xcelsius and I can see value from another document, when I work with Xcelsius only. When I view my result or exported in swf - I see that this value become 0, like empty cell.
Can I use relative cells in Xcelsius or it is them limitation?

Thank you. I think so too. But I have no confirmation...
And I think this limit like limit for work with Excel Macros, because If we may use macros in another document, with work opportunity with relative cells we can get data with VBA scripts computing.

I use classical Hebrew for my work, and Pages will only display English characters even with a Hebrew font selected. If I cut and paste Hebrew characters from another document, as long as the font is supported, it will appear in Pages. If I type it won't continue in Hebrew. I have tried downloading several fonts, including those from professional societies, but the only way to get Hebrew in my document is to cut and paste. Does anyone know how to fix this? I use an older MacBook running OS 10.9.1. I used to do my Hebrew work in Word, but it is no longer supported by Mac OS.

Just clarifying:
Pages '09 has bad support for Hebrew, Arabic etc but will accept pasted text.
Pages 5 has much better support but with bugs.
If you have columns they are in the wrong order ie Text starts in the left column and ends in the right column.
If you type English into Hebrew text it tends to fall in the wrong position eg instead of to the left of Hebrew punctuation it goes to the right.
As Tom recommends the only real solution on the Mac is Mellel.

btw Tell Apple, they are amazingly slow to fix this running sore which has been broken since RtoL was supposedly introduced in OSX 10.2.3 over a decade ago.

Copy and paste copy from another document

Hi,
Somewhere I've changed the color type is presented when you create a new text block and can't find where to change it. So everytime I start a new block of text or when I copy and paste from another document (word, email) the copy color has to be manually changed to black to see it. Where do I change this preference?

Thanks for speedy reply. So that fixed my new doc - when I put in new copy it is black. On the previous document, with no text select - click on the text tool and swatch shows it will be black. Draw the box on the layout - swatch switches no color (white box with a red slash). So, I unselect everything again, click on the text tool and it shows it will be black. Click inside the text box and it goes invisible again. Switch to color - click on text tool and it shows it will be black, but as soon as I draw the text box - shows it will be invisible. Shut down Indesign, restart - nothing gives.
Again, thanks for your reply. This isn't major just one of those little annoyances that is so minor with all the other stuff going on ... but with snow leopard problem - I just don't want to mess with too and I can't fix the other. giggle.

As far as I remember you couldn't do it in PAges 09 and Pages 5 has lost over 90 features that Pages 09 has so I would say no you can't. I can't test it right now. I had a quick look in the help (http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.0/?lang=en) and could find that you could link to another document from anywhere let alone a table cell.

Copy and Paste to Excel from another program

I use vb script to paste data to Excel that has been copied to the clipboard via SAS code. However, my code has now failed for some users. SAS accomplishes the writing to the clipboard task, and then creates and issues a system command to run the VB script.
Here is an example of the current VB script:

The problem is that for some users, Excel can't access the clipboard unless it is already open before the copy operation occurs.
How can I convert the above script into multiple scripts that allow me to use SAS to: (1) open Excel; (2) not part of script: accomplish the copy operation via SAS; (3) perform the paste and save operation in Excel and then close Excel?

Your link wasn't there when I originally read your post, so I figured out a way to solve my problem on my own. However, thank you for your help and I will definitely look at the link you provided.
Regardless of the fact that the following is probably quite sloppy code, I was able to do what I wanted by incorporating running Notepad as a shell within my vbscript. The code simply does everything that my original example does but, just prior to pasting
from the clipboard, opens the txt file in notepad and copies it to the clipboard:

When I download a letter from an email, and there is a link to another document, it does not go through.

When I go to my email account on Internet Explorer, and download the same letter, and try to link to the other document, I have no problem.
It also happens when I download from a website, and there is a link on the downloaded document. It will not link.

it is contained within the Mail app. There is no central downloads folder on iDevices.

Named Anchor linking from another document

I made a Named Anchor and linked from some text in another document. Great. Worked just fine. The only thing is it doesn't display the named anchor at the top of the page.
In other words the footer is at the bottom of the page and the named anchor in the middle of the page... not at the top. Like a #top would be.
Anyway to get it to the top of the page? Do I just need more content under it?

I wanted to link Borderline PD to:
Menu choice: Disorders... choose Personality... go down to "Cluster B" and there's Borderline PD.
The link worked but the named anchor "Borderline PD" is in the middle of the page.

Setting Absolute and Relative Cell References

OK - new to Numbers, but am an advanced spreadsheet user.
I am trying to do a formula where I sum the product of numbers from two other tables. In one I take a row vector and in the other a column vector. Since I am replicating this sum of products across a table, both across and down, I need to set the absolute column in one (the row vector) and absolute row in the other (the column vector).
In Excel, it was easy - use command-T to cycle through the options until I got the $ to show up where I needed it.
In Numbers, I really like the drop down menu, and in reading the manual, I should be able to achieve the same using command-K. Right?
OK - here is my issue and why I need help.
When I select the first cell of my column vector, the drop down menu gives me access to all four options, but I can only select two that will stick (the others can be selected, but they revert back to the original). The two are "relative" - the default one; and "absolute column". I cannot pick the other options. When I use command-K, it also cycles through only those two options.
Am I doing something wrong, missing a setting or not catching a reference in the manual?
Or do I need to enter things manually by typing in cell references?
Hmmm - this is either a bug or something simple that I just cannot see the solution to...

Here is what I am doing:

So, for each row vector and column vector I get one result in a cell in the third table.
(In this case, the answer is: 30,000,0000.09470*0.1099+00.3557... = 2,841,265; if you take the next row vector (one line down) and multiply it by the same column vector, you would get the 4,047,087 result in the last table, and so on..)
My problem was that when I used the title "Series E" instead of "E Series" in the Column Vector table and I tried to set it to "absolute row" - it would not work. When I changed it to "E Series" it did. Why? While I use "Series E" as a title elsewhere, I would assume that Numbers has an internal reference that includes the table name as part of the identifier so that there is no conflict.
Anyway - I seem to have solved it, but not in a way that makes sense to me and I sure would like to know what, if anything, I am doing wrong.

Reading formulars and blank cells in Excel by POI event based API

Hello at all,
first sorry for my english.
I have to read Excel files using the POI event based API.
These files contain FormularRecords, whitch values are Strings.
I googled a lot, but I didn't found a way, to get FormularRecords as string.
This I need, because I have to compare the position of the Cell (row, column)
with other values.
An other way to get these cells is reading them as StringRecord or SSTRecod.
But there is no method .getRow() or .getColumn() for StringRecords and SSTRecords.
My other problem:
Some cells without a value can not be read.
Using the BlankRecord didn't catch all of them.
When I go to these cells and just hit Return (no value is set), then the cells can be catched.
Can anyone give me an idea?
It really would be very helpfull.
And I hope my english can be understood.

Problem is solved,
in the datastream the FornulaRecord appears before the StringRecord.
I take the position from the Formula and value from the String.

Home sharing and trying to copy song from another library not working.

Trying to copy or drag a song from one library to another in the new Itunes 11.0 is not intuitive. The Help comments suggest there is a show button "at bottom of itunes" that will display "songs not in my library" but I don't see that. Anyone else have a clue?

If you want the old way of copying and dragging, you can enable the sidebar by going to View > Show Sidebar from the menu.
Without the sidebar, you can still copy by mounting your Home Share (although, it's not dragging) and select the item you want to copy and click Import at the bottom bar on the right.

Trouble Copying and pasting a movie clip from another flash scene

Hello,
I have been trying to copy a movie clip from the library of one flash and paste it into the library of another. But when I do this, it always gives me, "One or more library items already exist in the document.
I have tried finding and renaming those items, renaming the existing movie clip, and even changing it into a graphic instead. Still it always replaces these certain movie clips in my main flash file.
I even tried the following:
Creating a new movie clip in the new file. Then going into the movie clip of the other file I wish to copy over, and trying to copy its frames and put it into the new movie clip i created in the main file. Even then, it says I'm replacing library items!
Can someone help me?

The easiest way to be sure you are renaming everything is to probably to copy the movieclip into a new empty file's library and then rename each symbol in there. Unless I am missing something, when you do that, each isolatable symbol inside that movieclip will appear as a separate symbol in the library, making it easier to be sure you have renamed them all.

SharePoint 2010 and InfoPath 2010 - Load data from another form

I have two questions on this topic.
Is it possible to open an empty InfoPath form and give the user the option of loading it with data from a previously submitted form? They want the ability to save some time of filling in some fields that were entered in an earlier form. Any description
of how or a link would be appreciated.
Also, if I create an InfoPath form template in a SharePoint Form Library like above, the user would like to be able to have multiple forms associated with each other. There would be some key that packaged them with each other. Then from within
one of the form, there would be an option to submit the whole "package" at once. All the forms associated with that one key. Again, any examples or links would help.

You can use InfoPath Query Data connection to point to a library / list where your data is located.
For loading data, you should be using Form Load event, and then populate ID's to a Drop down list.
when the user selects the ID from the Drop Down list, you can write another rule to query data based on the ID's from the list and store the values in your current form.
For the second question, you should try creating a single form with multiple views. and show hide views based on user or business logic.
You can write multiple submit rules to submit Form data to different different library / list.
