Xcelsius Batch Utility for Xcelsius 2008 SP1

Hi,
I would like to test the lab related to the bursting of Xcelsius dashboard. A key component for this is to install the Xcelsius Batch Utility for Xcelsius 2008 SP1. Does anyone know where this add-on can be found ?

Batch Utility for FR - Documents

Trying to find some documenation on how to use the ScheduleBatch.cmd, hrcmd.cmd, FRSetenv.cmd, ManageUserPov.cmd utility programs. Any ideas on if there is any or where it might be. thanks

Found what I needed but still having an issue with getting it to work the way we want it to.
- In the doc it describes the bursting file where you list the User Names you want to give access to the snapshot. It sayes "comma-spearated Financial Reporting user names who are granted access to the snapshot". Then I try to make the bursting file I am not able to list more than one user name. Any ideas on how to get two or more per POV value. We have reports that 10 or 15 different people out of 400 get so I need to be able to only generate the report once and have the select 15 view it. We use the bursting file becuase we have about 40 different POV's per report and different people get each different version of the report.

Missing data in SWF files created with Batch Utility SP1

Hi All and happy new year !
I have a problem using Xcelsius 2008 batch Utility SP1. On the new SWF file, some of my data are missing. I used a grid component to identify the problem and there are no data where it should have some.
Is there a table size or data range limit?
Or another solution for my problem?

I'm attempting to uninstall XCelsius 2008 SP1 (FP3), in order to install SP3, as per the instructions. However I am running into the same error message that is found in this thread: [SP3 Wont install because I can't get current version off|SP3 Wont install because I can't get current version off].
I am receiving the same error code u201Ccanu2019t find Xcelsius.msiu201D and then u201CError 1706.u201D
I attempted to follow the instructions to edit the registry, but could not find the string "MediaPackage" anywhere, so I don't know what my next step should be. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks!!

I had a similar problem and had no luck resolving it until I tried the MS installer fix utility.

Xcelsius 2008 SP1 - Ignore Blank cells not working

I have a ticker object that is showing the values from a QaaWs query just fine, but at the end of the list I keep getting the words NULL - NULL - NULL - .... This solution is working in the OEM release of Xcelsius 2008.
The range is set longer than the expected number of rows returned to handle changes in the table its querying.
I have Values selected and the Ignore Blank Cells In Values box is checked, so what am I missing?
Is it time to log an issue within support?

Hello Tom,
This problem is known and documented. It will be addressed in the next FixPack for Xcelsius 2008.
The problem is caused by binding the QaaWS/WS Output Values field to more rows than are actually returned. The cells that are not filled with actual data are formatted with an "undefined" value, thus they are not ignored by "Ignore End Blanks". This is expressed differently depending on the component.
For now, one workaround is to output the QaaWS/WS values to a range (A1:A10, for instance), then reference the range (=A1) in another (B1:B10, for example). If the selector labels are bound to this 2nd range, they will Ignore End Blanks correctly.

What do I need to create Flex custom components for Xcelsius 2008 SP3?

Hello, and thanks for your time.
I have recently been roped into creating some custom components in Flex 3 for use in Xcelsius 2008 SP3. I can create custom components in Flex, but I have no idea how to get them into Xcelsius.
I have begun my own research into everything I am going to need, but I am hoping someone out there who has done this can provide a user-friendly itemized list of all the parts that are needed to accomplish this task. I want to make sure I do not miss anything.

Even we have a requirement to create doughnut chart in flex and need to add it in xcelisus.I can bulid that in flex and it is working with static data.Please provide me the sample code of how to pass dynamic data from xcelsius excel to this chart and how to create properties file for this chart.I have looked at horizantal slider example but that doesn't help much.

Cannot generate AIR file when exporting from Xcelsius Engage 2008 SP1

Hi,
Xcelsius seems to go through the motions - "generating swf file" - but no AIR file actuallly lands in the specified folder in my c:\ drive. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SP! but the problem persists. I have the following already installed:
1) Flex SDK 3.1 and the file path to the root directory of the SDK is specified in the sdkPath.dat file.
2) Java version 1.6
3) Adobe AIR 1.1.

Hi - I'm having the same issue with generating an AIR package from Xcelsius 2008 SP1. My network environment is protected by a corporate firewall and proxy, so I suspect that there are internet resources that are not accessible. I tried generating an AIR file while connected to my home network, and it worked OK (although, I couldn't access the data feeds on my corporate network).
Is there a list of internet resources that Xcelsius needs to access to produce the AIR files?

No PowerPoint or PDF after installing Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008

Have installed Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008
Seemed like big improvement - smoother and no crashes.
But -
Exported to PowerPoint, closed everything down. Opened PowerPoint file and nothing.
Exported to PDF - said that I should upgrade to new Flash program. Installed Flash 10. - Opened PDF file and nothing.
Please help

Hi Bruce,
Try exporting to .SWF and seeing if you can run that without a problem.
Then try importing that .SWF into PowerPoint to see if you can set that up without a problem.
From there we can see if it is an Xcelsius issue or another PC issue.

Supported pdf versions and mouse over problem for Xcelsius 2008 SP3

Hi,
Have below queries regarding Xcelsuis 2008 SP3.
(1) Encountered last character truncation problem for the x-axis and y-axis labels when viewed using adobe reader versions higher than 9.0.0. Viewing the pdf doc using adobe reader v9.0.0 has no label truncation problem. Preview in Xcesius is also ok.
(a) Y-axis label - eg. No. of students. The last char [s] is truncated when exported to pdf.
(b) X-axis label u2013 when labels are oriented vertically, they are very close to the x-axis. The last char is truncated.
Please advise what is the supported pdf versions for Xcelsius 2008?
Any workaround to overcome the truncation problem?
(2) Mouseover in charts. When the series name has < symbol, Xcelsius truncates the remaining text that's after the < symbol.
Is this a limitation that < symbol cannot be used? Any workarond for this? Any document to reference on the limitations of Xcelsius? e.g. If series name is '>1 and <=2', mouse over desc becomes '>1 and '.

Hi ,,There are a lot of developments in SP3 version. But some loopholes which I caughtu2026
1. The value button/spinner is no longer supporting a cell having some formula. Also the time it is taking to load data which depends on value button/spinner as a result of change in it, is comparably very high as compared to earlier version.
2. Still there is no component like pre-load animation. So it is difficult to know weather the tool is running or not when one selects an option in some selector.
3. One still finds it difficult to work with a large range of data/complex spread sheet in xcelsius as it crashes while exporting.
4. Export to excel still needs Tomcat Web server,Java help. It is not simplified.

Issues with Service Pack 2 for Xcelsius 2008

I installed SP2 for Xcelsius 2008 and after completion I opened the xcelisius and found the Vertical Axis Labels are disabled under
the Apperance tab -> Text for the columnar chart components. But when I insert a new component they become visible.
It is a big dashboard and recreating all the components all over is a nightmare.
Can someone please suggest if there is a fix for this ?

Copy all the components from the existing dashboard and paste it in a new one. This should solve your problem.

Problem Loading Service Pack1 for Xcelsius Present 2008

I am trying to install Service Pack 1 for Xcelsius Present 2008. When I entered Product Key, I get error that product key is not valid. I called customer service and they verified that product key is valid. They sent instructions to change preferences for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE but the "Business Objects" section is not there. I did change the "Crystal Reports" preferences, but still had problem with the product key.

I was unable to get the key accepted (Windows 7, my user account does have administrator rights). Right-clicking Xcelsius Present 2008 shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator" did the trick. The program is now licensed.
Have to wait til tomorrow evening to play with this, though.

What version of flash player that can run Xcelsius Flash 2008?
My Pocket PC is HP IPaq 612, I have installed Flash Player 7.0, but the xcelsius doesn't run.

Hi Devin,
You would still need the (full) Flash 9 player on your mobile as that is the version of Flash that Xcelsius is generated for. Flash Lite will not work either because that is a cut down version of the flash player...
Maybe Adobe will create Adobe AIR for mobile devices (and support the Flash 9 player), we'll have to wait and see what happens...

You can contact the Customer care or your account manager for the license keys. Incase you have access to SAP portal(service.sap.com) you can request for keys from there as well.
